JSP Dynpage not rendering UI

Hi..
I have a HTML page that refers to some javascript files to render a table view for a calendar .The html page along with the Javascript files are put together in one folder.
The HTML renders the Calender UI when run from the local system.
Now i have created a JSP Dynpage application and given proper reference to the  javascript files from the JSP.
I created an iview out of this. But on preview the Calendar UI is not rendered.Its all a blank page.
Please suggest as to what could be missing in the application or any possible reasons for this not working.
Regards
Smita

Chandramohan,
By JSP Page are you referring to JTF JSP page or an OA Framework page. In either case if sometimes the page is not coming up it might be related to the initialization logic/instance/data. Please check on these fronts.

  • JSP page not rendering correctly for remote system

    I have a jsp page that has an HtmlGraphicImage component that gets set by a method in a java bean using
    image2.setUrl( imageFilename );
    When I run the application on my local system (my development system running Studio Creator) the page comes up on my web browser with the proper image.
    However, when I try to access the page from a remote PC, the page comes up okay with all the static components, but the image is blank. When I look at the page source on that browser, the image url is set to blank (i.e. nothing inside quotes).
    Any ideas why this image is rendered correctly on my local system and not remotely?

  • JSP page not rendering in IE

    Hi,
    Here is a JSP page I'm working on for school:
    http://lectura.cs.arizona.edu:23456/main.jsp?section=login
    It renders fine in Mozilla, but I get a white page in IE. If you "view source" in IE, the code is there, and I have no idea why.
    I tried creating another simple jsp page and a simple html page, which are in the same directory:
    http://lectura.cs.arizona.edu:23456/index.jsp
    http://lectura.cs.arizona.edu:23456/hello.html
    Both show up in Mozilla, but not in IE.
    Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hi All,
    I am having a JSP dynpage project working fine.
    I now need a popup on click of a button in a iview (JSP).
    I created a complete new JSPDynpage component with Bean etc.
    I use the below code
    window.open('project.componentname') to have a popup.
    and in portal. xml I define the properties ComponentType & JSP.
    the window pops up but with error at all times even for a blank JSP,

  • JSF page not rendered in Design View (JDev 11.1.2.1.0)

    Hi!
    Recently strange behavior in JDeveloper 11.1.2.1.0) begins: JSF pages in some projects are not rendered anymore. We enabled "Show Design time Messages in log" in JDev Tools/Preferences/JSP and HTML Visual editor and message
    WARNING: A problem was encountered executing the page.  Using fallback rendering is shown in log. This is visible on this snapshot:
    [http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14304804/design_view_problem.jpg|http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14304804/design_view_problem.jpg]
    What is common to all of the projects with this issue is that we run "Remove ADF Security Configuration" which was enabled before and we implemented our custom security using phase-listener.
    Any idea what is wrong here?
    Regards,
    Sašo
    Edited by: Sašo C. on May 21, 2012 2:24 PM

    It's a limitation, if you will, of the way JDeveloper works. It essentially runs your JSF page in order to get the rendering. At design time, the phase listener is obviously messing things up since you're not in a proper secured environment - hence the workaround to bypass your phase listener at design time.

  • Customization - Additional column inserted in Inbox - value not rendered

    Hello,
       I have a requirement for customizing the inbox and populating the new inbox column with additional value. I made coding updates and everything looks good but the inbox does not render the new value at all. I made these updates and overrides.
    Added the column name and value in \apps\cq\workflow\components\inbox\list\json.jsp . When I go to http://localhost:4502/libs/cq/workflow/content/inbox/list.json?_dc=1358787785033&start=0&l imit=40, I am able to see the addition variable and value added and displayed in list.json. For e.g. view of list.json
               "payloadPath": "/content/dam/geometrixx-outdoors/articles/a-simple-plan.jpg",
               "payloadPath_xss": "/content/dam/geometrixx-outdoors/articles/a-simple-plan.jpg",
               "payloadSummary": {
            "lifestage": "Authored",
               "payloadTitle": "a-simple-plan.jpg",
               "payloadType": "dam:Asset",
       2.  Override and updated \apps\cq\workflow\extensions\inbox\cols. Added a new column, lifestage.js. Code in that js file is
        "header":CQ.I18n.getMessage("LifecycleStage"),
        dataIndex:"lifestage",
        ranking:30
        3. The inbox/list.json shows the value lifestage correctly. But still it doesnot populate 'lifestage' value in the inbox column. If I replace the dataIndex:"lifestage" with dataIndex:"currentassignee" or any other thing, the Lifestage column in Inbox is populated with the "CurrentAssignee".
    Why is the lifestage value though visible through list.json not visible in Lifestage column? What else needs to be additionally done?
    Thanks,

    Sham,
         I  followed exactly all steps like you mentioned. The value was not rendered. I put the alert messages. Please see the code below.
    As lifestage is not subpart of payloadSummary, tried both record.get("lifestage") and (record.get("payloadSummary").lifestage but still both alerts shows undefined.I see alerts for 'Inside renderlifestage' but the next alert shows 'undefined'.
      renderLifestage: function(value, p, record) {
                alert('Inside renderlifestage');
                alert(record.get("payloadSummary").lifestage);
                alert(record.get("lifestage"));

    I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 and I have an intermittent problem where by the jspx does not render correctly in design view - it just shows a whole load of nested boxes.

    Hi Didier,
    Sorry, intermittent problem is not very descriptive ! What I actually meant is that some of my applications have the problem while others dont. Once the problem exists, it always does regardless of restarting JDeveloper.
    Starting JDeveloper using the console provided similar error message to outputting the JSP visual editor to the log file :
    SEVERE: Element End name:head does not match start name:script
    04-Dec-2009 17:28:38 oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.io.HtmlResponseWriter endElem
    ent
    SEVERE: Element End name:html does not match start name:div
    Reading other posts, problems seemed to stem from errors within the faces-config or web.xml files so I compared them between apps displaying pages correctly and ones that weren't. I found a difference in the filter-mapping section of the web.xml. Changing the entries to match the applications that displayed correctly has worked !!
    The entries for the apps that didn't display correctly :
        <filter-mapping>
            <filter-name>adfFaces</filter-name>
            <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
            <dispatcher>FORWARD</dispatcher>
            <dispatcher>REQUEST</dispatcher>
        </filter-mapping>

      <filter-mapping>
        <filter-name>jhsAuthenticationFilter</filter-name>

      </filter-mapping>... and the entries for the apps that did display correctly :
        <filter-mapping>

        </filter-mapping>
        <filter-mapping>
            <filter-name>jhsAuthenticationFilter</filter-name>
            <url-pattern>*.jspx</url-pattern>
        </filter-mapping>Somehow the filter-mapping entries for the adfFaces and adfBindings filter got all screwed ? Strange as the application has always worked fine, the only (obvious) problem has been the jspx pages not rendering properly in design view.
    Once updating the web.xml with the correct value for these two entries, the pages are displayed correctly :)
    While I don't like blindly making changes like this to the web.xml - the application still seems to function !

  • JSF tags are not rendered in error page

    I have configured error page for HTTP 404 error in web.xml like this
    <error-page>
    <error-code>404</error-code>
    <location>/Common/error.jspx</location>
    </error-page>
    Faces Servlet is configured as follows
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/faces/*</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    My error page (error.jspx) looks like this
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.1" xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
    xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" xmlns:trh="http://myfaces.apache.org/trinidad/html"
    xmlns:tr="http://myfaces.apache.org/trinidad" xmlns:c="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core">
    <jsp:directive.page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8"/>
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Error Page</title>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"/>
    </head>
    <body id="b1">
    <h4 style="color:red">An Error Occured. Please click Back button or Signout.</h4>
    <input type="button" value="Back" onclick="history.back()"/>
    <tr:commandButton id="cb1" text="SIGN OUT" action="exit" actionListener="#{Login.LogOut}"/>
    </body>
    </html>
    </jsp:root>
    When I deploy application and run into 404 error, page displays error message with only Back button. I don't see SingOut button. I have checked url and it follows /faces/* pattern. Still to double check, I made a change and configured servlet mapping in web.xml as
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/faces/*</url-pattern>
    <url-pattern>*.jspx</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    Still commandButton is not rendered. I understand that my error page don't have access to FacesContext or not going through Faces Servlet. I know this is a small issue, but couldn't figure out what can be done. I have also tried using .xhtml and .jsf as per googled suggestion. But no luck
    I have tried different solutions to my problem and googled for solutions. But I couldn't get it resolved.
    So can you please provide any suggestions...

    I think my faces servlet is configured to handle URLs having /faces/* pattern. I don't have any folder named with faces but I can access all my web pages which have /faces/ in their url. All jspx pages in application are configured in task flows. So I think they have access in FacesContext. But error page is configured in only web.xml and some how it is missing access to FacesContext and not rendering JSF tags. Any help?

  • ADF FACES: af:table not rendering all columns

    I'm using ADF EA 17 with myFaces 1.0.9 on JBoss 4.0.1/JVM 1.4.2_07-b05. The af:table is embedded within an af:panelgroup (being body of af:panelbox).
    The af:table is not rendering all columns (only last 2 out of 8 cols total). The model behind the af:table is a java.util.List. Debugging shows that the list is filled up with beans correctly and that each of the properties of such a bean corresponding to a table column are also set correctly.
    Strange thing is that sometimes all columns are rendered ok. Especially if i make heavy changes on the jsp (e.g. removing all but 2 cols from the af:table) and dropping it into the .../jboss/server/../tmp/deploy/tmpXYZ-exp.war directory. Restarting JBoss results in the old behaviour. Also closing browser and re-opening it yields to the missing columns again.
    I've set breakpoints on the bean properties representing on table column and i can see, that the getter methods aren't called (all but those 2 that get rendered finally)
    Table has multiselection enabled with 1 command button.
    This happens with both IE 6 and Firefox 1.0.4; no oracle, myFaces exceptions visible on console or any log file.
    Has anybody made same experiences so far or an idea what the problem really is ?
    best regards,
    Christoph.

    I've tried it also with a plain af:table without any surrounding af:panelgroup or/and af:panelbox. Same result.
    The bean holding the table-model (the java.util.List) is in session-scope. the table-model is update by an actionListener fetching values from an EJB. Could the session-scope be a problem ?
    Potential candidates from my point of view, that might cause trouble here:
    --) Caching (i've seen that sort of "CachedRenderers" are used
    --) partial page rendering
    --) multi-threading issue.
    --) or any silly mistake of mine :-)
    best regards,
    Christoph

    HI,
    When you see the output of the code, you will find 2 different trees one with proper label and another with out labels. This tree is showing the folder structor. When i am creating the tree in managed bean, the EL expression of the component added in nodeStamp is not getting evaluated. To make sure that same component is stamped as nodeStamp, i tried by setting default value in that component, and it is showing the same hard coded value.
    But the same EL expression is getting evaluated for the tree in JSPX page.

  • Design View Not Rendering

    Before anyone forwards me to another site I want you to know that I've been to several and none of them have solved my problem.
    My problem is the design view is not rendering. I get the "Type, paste, or drag..." message in the viewer. I have tried all the suggestions that i could find to solve this and none of them work. If i delete JDeveloper and reinstall it, it works. But I can't do that all the time. I don't know the steps to reproduce this as it seems to be different every time.
    The error that i get in the console window is:

    Can anyone help me out with this.

    I had the same problem and almost spent a whole day trying to fix it...
    Check your web.xml file and remove the "*" from the url-patern
    i.e. change <url-pattern>/faces/*</url-pattern> to
    <url-pattern>/faces/</url-pattern>
    Do the same for the other mappings:
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>resources</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/adf/</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>resources</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/jsf/</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    I don't know the explanation but it worked...

  • Page is not rendered after first request

    Hi all,
    i have two page with names page1.jsp and page2.jsp. i open page2.jsp as pop up window by clicking a link on page1.jsp
    in _init() of page2.jsp,  i am getting some information from database and then i am able to create dynamic components according to information provided by database.
    for example, i create 3 textFields (their Id's are myTextField1, myTextField2, myTextField3) as result of execution of sql querry.
    Until here everything is ok for me, components looks rendered.
    i closed the page2 and then reopen it as pop up window again. i tryint to create another three textFields (their Id's are myTextField4, myTextField5, myTextField6). it looks like created at runtime, however i am getting the same old page.
    Please help me why my page is not rendering after reopening.

  • CQ page is not rendering properly. It is not rendering HTML. It is showing HTML source code as is.

    On some of the pages, I am getting this weird behavior wherein page is not rendering properly. It is showing HTML source code as is. Could you please help me out? What could be the issue? And how can we get rid of the same?

    Check your component jsp page. it is possible that it is just plan file without directives <@ or you might have miss to close tag which is creating source as text to render
    Paste your jsp code in case you need further help
    Thanks,

  • OutputText not rendering...

    hi there,
    the following is a sample jsp code that shows the verbatim tag (in the 2nd column of the panelGrid) somehow causes the outputText in the facet of the panelGrid not render the text anymore. the first time you load the jsp page, you can see the outputText being rendered as the header for the table. but if you click on the redisplay button, the outputText is not rendered anymore in the header.
    if you replace the verbatim tag with another tag, say outputText, in the 2nd column, then the problem goes away.
    any help is appreicated. (i am using sun's ri.)
    <html>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" prefix="f" %>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" prefix="h" %>
    <f:view>
    <head>
    <title><h:outputText value="title"/></title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <h:form>
    <h:panelGrid id="panel" columns="2" styleClass="book"
    columnClasses="menuColumn, chapterColumn">
    <f:facet name="header" >
    <h:panelGrid columns="1" >
    <h:outputText value="this is the header" />
    <f:verbatim><hr/></f:verbatim>
    </h:panelGrid>
    </f:facet>
    <%-- the first column --%>
    <h:commandLink>
    <h:outputText value="redisplay"/>
    </h:commandLink>
    <%-- the second column --%>
    <%-- this works
    <h:outputText value="output text"/>
    --%>
    <%-- this doesn't work on redisplay: the outputText in the facet is not rendered.
    --%>
    <f:verbatim >
    verbatim text here
    </f:verbatim>
    </h:panelGrid>
    </h:form>
    </body>
    </f:view>
    </html>

    This only appears to be happening when stat saving mode is client. I'll file an issue (bug) on this.
    Thanks, Roger.

  • html:textrea is not rendering

    I have a simple struts jsp page. All the controls are properly displayed but the below code to display textarea is not working. i mean, text area is not rendered (displayed) also, in the view source, the same appears instead of HTML version.
    Struts code:
    <html:textarea property='problemComment' rows=5 cols=30
         onblur="validateComment(this);"/>
    Viewsource code:
    <html:textarea property='problemComment' rows=5 cols=30
         onblur="validateComment(this);"/>
    I chcked my struts-html.tld to check if the entry is missing but its fine. I know that if there is a spelling mistake struts doesnt complain but just doesnt display.
    Can anybody please suggest why this is happening so ?
    Also, what is the best debugging tecnick in such cases ?
    Thanks in advance,
    CG

    If the custom tag is not being translated, then you have probably forgotten to import the taglibrary ;-)
    <%@ taglib prefix="html" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-html"%>
