JSP on 10g, please help

I have both oracle 9iAS and 10g installed on my PC.
When I start 10g oc4j and run JSP applications, it's not
working, even http://localhost:8888/ is not displaying
the default page. I tried with port 8889, still not working. 9ias is working fine.
Is there any conflict since I have both 9ias and 10g installed on my pc?
Any help is highly appreciable
Ponic

I got the JSP running on 10g. The problem was in 10 u have to give http://localhost:8889/j2ee, where as in 9i
http://localhost:8888/ this was enough.
Thanks
Ponic

    Or maybe you've compiled your Bean class with the wrong package declaration. And make sure that you've compiled it with a directory structure matching your declared package.

  • How to upload a file in BPEL Console Using JSP in JDeveloper, please help..

    Please I am new to Jdeveloper and to BPEL Process of OASuite,I want to know , how to upload a file in BPEL process using JSP in Jdeveloper IDE.
    The main aim is first we need to upload a file in JSP , it has to go to BPEL Process & it has to read the file & write the respective file in return to JSP through BPEL Process. Please I am in Urgent need of the Query , please help me ASAP.
    Send to me response Please.....................................

    Hi,
    I thin that you asked the same question before and I premember that I ointed you to the ADF BC developer guide and the SRDemo if your application uses JSF. For plain JSP - if you Google for: JSP and file upload then you find plenty of sources for JSP and Struts.
    The remaining part is how to stiff the file into a BPEL service on the middle tier. For this I recommended to ask your question on the BPEL forum
    BPEL
    Note that the BPEL integration would be easier if it was done on the middle tier and not onthe client

    It works fine and gives result without the "START WITH LEVEL = 1".
    However, in 9i, we get the result with the clause "START WITH LEVEL = 1" and after migrating, now in 10g, we are not getting the result. Is it like in 10g, if it is Level 1, we should not specify?
    Also, please clarify, is it like, if we don't specify the default is Level 1? Conceptually, LEVEL is assigned when rows enter the result set. Rows that enter because of the START WITH clause, by definition, have LEVEL=1. Rows that enter because of CONNECT BY have the LEVEL of the row to which they are connected, plus 1.
    "START WITH LEVEL = 1" returns no rows when I try it in Oracle 11.1.0.
    I suggest not using it.
    If you don't have a START WITH clause, you'll START WITH every row in the table. That seems to be what you got in Oracle 9. Is that what you want? If so, then just don't use a START WITH clause.

    Hi Veronika,
    The <jsp:usebean> is used for only javabeans not EJB (Enterprise javabean). You said that you have deployed SpellCheck.jar to the JRun server. So that must be an EJB. Where are you accessing this EJB from in your JSP? ARe you doing it inside the projsp.SpellCheck javabean? If yes, can you post some code from the javabean.
    Cheers

    request.getParameter("name").equals("")You are using this in your 'if' statement. But if a parameter by the name "name" is not found, it would return a null reference and calling equals() would call a NullPointerException.
    I observed that you are already assigning those parameters to Strings. You should add null checking for each of them. :)

  • JSP Connection Pooling Please Help

    Hi,
    I have a bean that I want to use for connection pooling with my JSP's. Its constructor creates the pool of connections and I have a getConnection method which retrieves available ones.
    My problem is that I create a new instance of the bean on each jsp page I am using. So that means when I go to my next web page and want to grab a connection I recreate an instance of the bean and therefore am creating another pool all over again.
    How do I get around this. When I first create an instance of the bean from a .jsp should I make the scope of that bean equal session. That way will I be able to use the same instance throughout the whole site.
    Please help
    Thanks
    Natasha

    Hi,
    <jsp:useBean> first tries to locate in the scope specified for the bean.If it doesn't find any, then it will instantiates the bean.
    Set the beans scope as "application" which means the same bean is available throughout the application.
    Hope this helps.

  • Installing Discoverer 10g, please help

    while I install Discoverer 10g (Business Intelligence Tool 10.1.2) using OUI, it gives error:
    Checking temp space: -1 MB available, 150 MB required. Failed
    I believe the temp fold in my Windows XP is more than 150 MB and I also tried several times to chnage environment variable and system variable from temp to TMP to use another fold as temp fold. But none of them works.
    Would anybody out there help to give a clue ?
    Thanks
    -ian

    ian,
    The value of TEMP variable is saved in your hard disk. So if the message you read is that you have 1 MB available that means in the c: partition (normally is this) you don't have enough space. Try to increase the space in this partition or make another variable in another partition of your hard disk where you have more space.
    Hope this helps.
    Alex.

  • Problem with JSTL 1.0.6 in WLS 8.1.4 - Please Help

    I am trying to use JSTL 1.0.6 in WLS 8.1.4. Here are the steps I followed:
              <br>
              Step 1:
              Copied the following jar files to WEB-INF/lib directory:<br>
              - jaxen-full.jar<br>
              - jdbc2_0-stdext.jar<br>
              - jstl.jar<br>
              - saxpath.jar<br>
              - standard.jar<br>
              - xalan.jar<br>
              - xercesImpl.jar<br>
              - xml-apis.jar<br>
              <br>
              Step 2:
              Imported JSTL into my one-and-only JSP page as follows:<br>
              <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8" language="java" %>
              <%@ taglib prefix="c"<br>uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/core" %>
              <%@ taglib prefix="c_rt" uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/core_rt" %>
              <%@ taglib prefix="x" uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/xml"%>
              <%@ taglib prefix="x_rt" uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/xml_rt" %>
              <%@ taglib prefix="fmt" uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/fmt" %>
              <%@ taglib prefix="fmt_rt" uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/fmt_rt" %>
              <%@ taglib prefix="sql" uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/sql" %>
              <%@ taglib prefix="sql_rt" uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/sql_rt" %>
              <br><%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/struts-bean.tld" prefix="bean" %>
              <%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/struts-html.tld" prefix="html" %>
              <br>
              <br>
              (I am also using struts, hence the last two page directives)
              <br>
              <br>
              Step 3:
              Finally I tried to build an EAR (which used to build OK before I added JSTL) using a slightly modified version of the build.xml that comes with the Medrec tutorial. wlcompile went OK, but <b>wlappc</b> failed with the following message:
              <br>
              java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/servlet/jsp/el/VariableResolver
              <br>
              <br>
              What am I doing wrong? I followed the instructions given in the JSTL 1.0.6 package. Is wlappc not the right tool for translating/compiling the JSP?
              <br>
              Please help!
              <br>

              Regards,
              Nadeem

    I can't be sure about exactly what's happening here, but I can point out several things.
              The class "javax.servlet.jsp.el.VariableResolver" is associated with JSTL 1.1.x, and JSP 2.0. It's not part of JSTL 1.0.x. Make sure you really have version 1.0.6, and don't have 1.1 somewhere.
              If you're just trying to use the JSTL, you shouldn't need several of those jars that you're presently including. You only need jstl.jar and standard.jar.
              Why are you using the "rt" versions of these taglibs? Those don't even use the expression language. I would remove "_rt" from all of those references.
              Note that if you're using Struts and the JSTL, you probably want to use Struts-EL, which is a version of the Struts jar that uses the EL to evaluate attribute values. Check the struts-user archive for some information about this. You'll find the struts-el distribution in the "contrib" directory of the Struts distribution.

  • PROBLEM WITH NEW ROW  --- PLEASE HELP

    Hello,
    I've had it with the framework. It's been 20 hours and counting that I am trying to insert/validate a new record.
    Things just don't work as advertised.
    Here's the situation:
    I have an entity object with various validation rules in the validate() method.
    Then I have a simple JSP page to insert new records.
    At submit of button, I follow the framework's default
    create new row and fill it up, with the difference
    that i need to validate the row as soon as I fill it up
    with data from the http request:
    <jbo:OnEvent name="Create">
    <jbo:Row id="newrow" datasource="ds" action="CreateInRange" >
    <% try { %>
    <jbo:SetAttribute dataitem="*" />
    <%
    newrow.validate(); //******* NOTICE HERE THAT I VALIDATE
    } catch (JboException ex) {
    newrow.remove();
    throw ex;
    } %>
    </jbo:Row>
    </jbo:OnEvent>
    Unexpected behavior 1: If the validation fails,
    newrow DOES NOT GET REMOVED!!!! I know this
    since when I view data thru a data table component,
    the row is there WITH THE ERROR INFORMATION set!!.
    If I do a commit transaction, then the erroneous information ENDS UP IN THE DATABASE!!!!!
    Unexpected behavior 2: If I do a rollback, every
    call to subsequent pages results in a jsp error:
    java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.jbo.html.jsp.datatags.OnEventTag
    PLEASE HELP.
    Chris Lambrou

    I have (hopefully) found a solution to my part of this problem. I was getting the ClassCastExceptions on any page with a <jbo:row> tag after doing a failed DML action. I have tested this with the delete event. (btw, I am using jdev9.0.3.3 w/ BC4J/JSP) Before what I was doing was this:
    <% try { %>
    <jbo:Row id="delrow" datasource="ds" rowkeyparam="jboRowKey" action="Delete" />
    <% } catch (JboException jboEx) { %>
    do something
    <% } catch (Exception ex) { %>
    uh-oh, this is bad
    <% } %>
    If I removed the try/catch block everything worked fine. Unfortunatlely, I need to try/catch block here. To work around the problem I changed the code to this:
    <% Row rowDelete = ds.getRowFromKey(params.getParameter("jboRowKey")); %>
    <% try { %>
    <%
    rowDelete.remove();
    %>
    <% } catch (JboException jboEx) { %>
    do something
    <% } catch (Exception ex) { %>
    uh-oh, this is bad
    <% } %>
    The second bit of code does the same thing (but it doesn't use a bean like I think <jbo:Row> does) and it doesn't cause the ClassCastError on subsequent errors.
    I really hope this helps someone else because it took me forever to get a workaround!

  • Please help.  Got TopLink working, but now I can't run a JSP page

    I am using JDeveloper 9.0.3.
    I got TopLink working successfully. Meaning I can access the DB using my mapped TopLink classes from my java code in JDeveloper.
    However, now I can't even run the default .jsp page.
    I am getting the error:
    Error instantiating application at file:/C:/LBIT/LBIT-oc4j-app.xml: Error parsing data-sources config at file:/C:/LBIT/LBIT-data-sources.xml: Fatal error at line 0 offset 0 in file:/C:/LBIT/LBIT-data-sources.xml: The encoding "windows-1252" is not supported.
    If I go change the "LBIT-data-sources.xml" file to "ISO-8859-1," as soon as I run the .jsp page (from JDeveloper) the "LBIT-data-sources.xml" file gets overwritten with a new one that contains the "windows-1252" encoding line again.
    What can I do to fix this???
    I know someone else has run into this problem!!!
    Please help. Thanks so much.
    Andy

    You could change the encoding by doing the following.
    Stop Embedded OC4J Server (Run | Terminate | Embedded OC4J Server)
    Tools | Preferences
    Select Environment
    Change the Encoding to ISO-xxxxx
    Click OK
    Run your JSP now.
    Atleast this should fix encoding generated into data-sources.xml

  • Issue about jsp taglib,please help

    Hello all,
    I want to use jsp tag like following:
    <c:import url="xxx.jsp">
    <c:param name="xxxAction" value="<portlet:renderURL/>"/>
    </c:import>
    and the value of the c:param can not accept the value generated by the <portlet:renderURL/> tag.
    I can resolve the issue by writing java code in the jsp(like ...java code...<c:param name="xxxAction" value="%=...%"/> ),much java code occur in the jsp,I do not like this solution.
    anybody has good solution please help me.
    thanks and rgds.

    Ram is correct. You can't nest custom tags as attributes to other custom tags.
    In this case the <c:param> tag offers the option of specifying the value as the body of the tag though, so the following should work:
    <c:import url="xxx.jsp">
    <c:param name="xxxAction"><portlet:renderURL/></c:param>
    </c:import>
