JSR 168: Building JSR 168 Portlets

cf)JsrPortlet_Google.zip
I've tried installing the portlet as follows, but I could not make it.(The portlet log the user out when you hit submit button.http://XXXX/portal/server.pt/gateway/PTARGS_0_289_749_0_0_43/http://tama9/XXX/server.pt?space=MyPage&cached=true&parentname=Gateway&parentid=None&userid=2&control=SetPage&PageID=0 )
put simply.... 1. unzip the war file 2. modify the portlet.xml to add the key-string for the google api 3. zip these files to war file 4. deploy it to the application server. 5. migrate the pte file 6. restart tomcat after deleting the directory \Standalone
and my testing environment is portal501+hotfixes on tomcat 4.1.18google.com <--> our proxy server <--> portal with the google portletAny help in this matter will be greatly appreciated!

    Youve got to unmount the portal server fs from your project, disable the portlet builder plugin (Tools->options->,,,PortletBuilder) then erase the ps folder inside your ide profile and then start the portlet builder module again. Try to simulate it again and it should work.

  • SAP Enterpirse Portal Development standards (JSR 168 and JSR 286)

    Hi
    I am working on SAP Entperprise Portal Assessment. I  heard SAP-EP not supporting JSR 168 and JSR 286 standards.
    Can anyone please let me know what JSR 186  and  JSR 286 standards are and impact in SAP development work.
    Thanks everyone.

    Hi Ravi,
    SAP EP is definitely not supporting JSR 168.
    The next release (Portal on NetWeaver 7.1) will support JSR 286.
    You have to consider that the huge amount of SAPs standard portlets / iViews (addressing Knowledge Management, Employee Self Service, Business Intelligence, etc.) will not be implementations of JSR 286 but so called portal applications or Web Dynpro applications.

  • JSR 82 and jsr 185

    Dear all, I'm interested in mobile phones that support both JSR 75 and JSR 82. Now I've seen that new phone models such as Nokia 3155 or Nokia 6155, and so on, support JSR 75 but not JSR 82.
    Does anybody know if there is a JSR that extend JSR 82?
    because in that case I can use these models as well.
    Thanks a lot,
    Maurizio

    jcp.org is up now... latest version of JSR-82 appears to be 1.1.1. Still need an answer to question 3 though!

  • Support of JSR 168 and JSR 286 portlets

    Hi,
    As far as I know there is no direct support for JSR 168 compliant portlets in the SAP portal. Remote portlets can be consumed using WSRP. I was wondering whether the SAP portal will provide direct support for JSR 168 or even JSR 286 portlets in future releases?
    Regards,
    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,
    Long time ago SAP promised to implement JSR 168. Nowadays, you don't find much official documentation stating SAP portal is JSR168 compliant.
    SAP introduced the Federated Portal Network (Consumer and Producer portals), also with WSRP support.

  • Migration from JSR 168 to Oracle PDK Portlet

    Hi,
    I have created a Portlet in JSR standard. I want to port it as Oracle PDK portlet.
    In such case how to map the ProcessAction Method in MyPortlet which extends GenericPortlet to Oracle PDK Portlet format.
    Since Am using Oracle Portal 10g 10.1.2 which has no support to WSRP, am not able to use Java Portlet.

    Bala,
    Thanx bala. I made that web app to Portlet.
    Now am developing an application based on documentum.

  • Help with building a database portlet (reference_path) issues

    I'm attempting to create a Provider Portlet based on the Database Provider example. The goal of the portlet is to
    dynamically display a Portal Report based upon a session storage variable. The session storage variable is set in another portlet on the same page. My portlet is named DYNAMIC_RPT.
    I'm able to display the report from within my database portlet by calling the report's .show procedure.
    But, my problem is this: The reference_path is generated for my database portlet, for example 131_DYNAMIC_RPT_123123, so when I click the NEXT button on the report, the page is refreshed but the report is still on page 1.
    I think the problem is that my portlet needs to internally determine what the reference_path SHOULD BE for the report I'm trying to display, and use it in the associated provider API's.
    If I could call the API which is generating the reference_path I could then pass an appropriate reference_path. I would need to be able to dynamically regenerate the reference_path when ever the session variable changes. Is this possible ?
    Also, when I'm building the p_arg_names, and p_arg_values whould I ONLY extract the argument(parms) which are associated with the p_reference_path of the portlet report currenttly being displayed ?
    Also is there a session storage variable which contains the current PAGE ID and TAB ID. I'm extracting it form the PAGE_URL but it's very messy code.
    Thanks in advance for your help !!

    Hi,
    you can do what you want with LiveCycle, and it might help you to look at this reference as it shows how to work with data ( it does depend how your data is stored)
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/9.0/designerHelp/index.htm?content=000006.htmlhttp://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/9.0/designerHelp/index.htm?content=000006.html
    If you data does not change very often then I would recommend just using an XML file to store the data and then use thebinding ability with possible some JavaScript to create the solution you would like.
    Hope this helps

  • How Can I Build Mailing List Portlets?

    I want to make a portal with a mailing list portlet. I need to know how can I build the servlet for my apache server.

    By a mailing list portlet, do you mean a portlet where users can sign up for different mailing lists, or do you mean a specific mailing list that would archive all the messages sent to the list?
    In any case, if you have an existing application that manages a mailing list (like a list on listbot.com), one of the options you could investigate is to integrate that application as an External Application to Portal and leverage the Single Sign On capability.

  • Inter Portlet Communication for JSR 168 Portlets

    Hi,
    I want to invoke one JSR168 Portlet from another and also pass parameters between the two.I did the same using Events for Oracle Portlets.
    I would like to know how to do the same when I build JSR 168 Portlets.
    Also Pls let me know where I can get documentation which describes all the possible options that I can try out on JSR168 Portlets
    Regards
    Yash

    Hello Yash,
    The current version of the specifications does not support Parameter and Events that allow you to create portlet 2 portlet communication using OracleAS Portal framework.
    If the reusability of the parameter is not a major requirement of your application you can simply use URL parameters and this will authorize you implement that.

  • Does any one develop jsr-168 portlets (jsd portlets) using Jdeveloper ?

    hi
    Thank you for reading my post
    Does any one uses Jdeveloper to build jsr-168 compliant jsf portlets?
    does ADF faces works inside a jsf component or not ?
    Thank you very much

    So we should be hopeful to get a jsr-168 portlet development next few weeks.
    but i think if oracle make its community informed about such processes , it give a big chance to users to select its IDE,..
    Thanks

  • JSR 168 portlets packaging question

    Hello,
    I have a bunch of Java (JSR 168, using Spring MVC) portlets (PortletOne, PortletTwo...PortletN) that I created as individual Portal Web projects and are contained in a Portal EAR project. This portal EAR is my deployment unit and also consists of another Portal Web project (Assembly.war) that holds a app.portal file where I plan to assemble all these Java portlets and use it to create a desktop. The reason for having all the individual portlets in web projects of their own is to be able to export them as a unit and use it elsewhere either as a shared library or package it within another EAR file as the need arises.
    my application.xml looks somewhat like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <application id="Application_ID" version="1.4" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/application_1_4.xsd">
         <display-name>MyEar</display-name>
         <module id="WebModule_1">
              <web>
                   <web-uri>Assemby.war</web-uri>
                   <context-root>appname</context-root>
              </web>
         </module>
         <module id="WebModule_2">
              <web>
                   <web-uri>PortletOne.war</web-uri>
                   <context-root>PortletOne</context-root>
              </web>
         </module>
         <module id="WebModule_3">
              <web>
                   <web-uri>PortletTwo.war</web-uri>
                   <context-root>PortletTwo</context-root>
              </web>
         </module>
    </application>But since all these WAR files are at the same level I cannot reference the context definitions and the controllers for the portlets defined in each of these portlet WAR files (PortletOne, PortletTwo,...) from the common web project that holds the app.portal file in Assembly.war. I tried to define a custom classloader structure in weblogic-application.xml and put the assembly war file at a lower level but the app even fails to deploy with IllegalAccessError as soon as a context for each of the war files is registered by the hot deploy process. Moreover, when I deploy the EAR file, the portlets defined in each of the WAR files do not appear in the Resources library when viewed from the Portal Administration console.
    Any suggestions how to assemble these individual portlets into a common web project, while still keeping them packaged within the same EAR file? Alternate approaches are welcome too.
    I have already considered deploying these portlet WAR files as Weblogic J2EE shared libraries. But with this approach, the overall application response time is very slow in spite of exhausting all tuning options and also cannot pre-compile JSPs in the shared libraries.
    Is importing the JSR-168 portlets using the import utility as WSRP portlets a viable option? Will I be able to share session variables across portlets, fire and handle events and be able to pre-compile the JSP in idividual portlets?

    Hello,
    Perhaps the multiple nested classloaders involved with the shared libraries approach is slowing it down- if that is the case, it would be hard to fix.
    Using WSRP should work for you; there is a bit more complexity but if you have relatively simple portlets, use the correct JSR168 tags and methods (or the Spring bridge does), it shouldn't be too hard to get to work. The IDE may be able to help you with that; you can create a new portlet of type "remote portlet" in your aggregated webapp, and a wizard will walk you through the steps. If you use local proxy mode, the portlet's individual WSDL URL will be the URL to each portlet's webapp on localhost.
    The WSRP configuration can also be done dynamically in the Portal Admin Tools, and even using a specialized JSR168 import tool, but both of these options would only create database instances of portals and portlets in your aggregating webapp. This would be fine if your aggregated EAR never needs to move to a different deployment environment, but if you require portability of the EAR to another environment it complicates packaging, as database information is also required. If you happen to be using WLP version 10.3, I believe there is a bug which prevents the specialized JSR168 import tool from working, but the tool is documented here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13155_01/wlp/docs103/prodOps/deployment.html#wp1047337
    Since all the WSDL URLs will point only to the localhost, when you package the aggregated WAR file it should deploy properly to any servers. Information about the local proxy mode, which should improve performance for your configuration, is described here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13155_01/wlp/docs103/federation/Chap-Best_Practices.html#wp1010714
    Hope this helps!
    Kevin

  • WSRP/JSR-168 for production?

    Maybe I'm missing something, but from my little research on the use of WSRP/JSR-168 within Portal, all indications are this is not ready for production use. Meaning, if I use JDeveloper (or some other tool) I cannot deploy production quality Portlets based on these standards within Portal 10g (9.0.4). Is this correct, or did I miss something?
    Given this, my only choice is to use the JPDK if I wish to develop Java based portlets.
    Thanks...

    Hi all,
    Even i am also looking for if any body has consumed the JSR168 portlet on
    OracleAs Portal 10g Release 2.
    I have found some article where it is mentioned that
    Production Support for JSR 168 and WSRP
    Once upgraded to Oracle Portal 10.1.4, a repository only upgrade on top of OracleAS 10.1.2.0.2, your portal version provides production support for building and consuming standards-based portlets. Oracle portal provides a Java Portlet Wizard within Oracle JDeveloper to build JSR 168 portlets and publish those portlet to Oracle's container or any portlet standards container. You can then consume JSR 168 portlet with Oracle Portal through WSRP. Oracle Portal also supports consuming any portlet through WSRP as well as JPDK portlets.

  • WSRP & JSR-168

    Hello!
    I'm trying to declare my portlets as remote and connect to them.
    I have JSR-168 compliant portlets and I created remote portlets to them on a consumer.
    But every time I submit a form the portal reverts to the initual state instead of processing my request.
    I was also wondering if WebLogic processes only URLs created using the netui library?
    thank in advance,
    Vica
