JVM is not safe enough.

JVM is reading its policy in ".java.policy" file in the directory under J2SDK or JRE.
However, the file is a text file with no attributes, and can be changed without any notice.
If some professional hackers want to attack your JVM, they only send a new ".java.policy" file to you and your computer opens its door to any applet to write/read your other files in your computer.
This is very dangerous and I think that it is a loophole.

This is telling you that there is not enough memory for the heap size you've specified. Increasing the heap size makes this worse, not better. You need more physical memory.

  • Is "Zero" Out Safe Enough?

I need to erase the HD on my MacBook Core 2 Duo.
I have sold it on Ebay and was wondering if the "zero out" option in Disk Utility is safe enough for when I pass my laptop on to it's new owner.
Is it okay if I don't do the 7-time pass erase?
I honestly don't have the time to wait hours...I have to get it packed up and shipped.
What do you think? Will my hard drive be secure enough?
    Thanks!

It all depends on how sensitive that data is. The chances of that data on a zeroed-out hard drive can be recovered are close to nil. But the chances are not actually nil.
For a quick & dirty solution, ensure all your sensitive files are in your home folder. Then turn on FileVault. Choose the "secure erase" option when turning it on to ensure that the moved files are completely wiped out. Choose a very strong password; something like dUcr5Faw2uG2cubr.
Them just do a quick erase and reformat, with no zeroing out. Reinstall the OS. The next owner might easily be able to recover parts of the System, Applications, etc., but your data will be completely gone.

Last night this started popping up "itunes library file cannot be saved. you do not have enough access priviledges for this operation.". Nothing in my system or in itunes has changed. Anyone know what would cause this? Is it safe to import music into itunes at the moment? Will things not be saved to the library?

Still not the problem. Tracks are imported by itunes. Tracks are save to HD. Tracks show up in itues library. Close itunes... tracks still on HD, but not in library. No security changes have been made. This is a 500GB HD that is over half full music , all in my itunes library, and now for some reason itunes cannot associate with these new files. No updates have happened, I've rolled back to a system point predating my problem, problem still there.

  • WebLogic Error VM Could not reserve enough space

    Hi There,
I have installed Weblogic 8.1 Deployment Server on Windows XP. The installation was successful, but when I am starting the weblogic it is not starting and throwing an error:
*"Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap"*
Can somebody help me to resolve the issue.....
    Many Thanks in advance....
    Regards...

Sounds like maybe you have misconfigured -Xmx or -Xms when you invoke the JVM and are asking for more memory than your machine can physically allocate. Would need to see your weblogic startup configuration and how much RAM is installed on your target machine to help debug further.

    Good day AMELIASARAH,
One resolution to your issue would be to update your iPhone using iTunes on your computer rather than over the air. This requires much less space on the iPhone as most of the work is done by the computer. See this article for how to do it -

i received the following message while i was on my macbook air "you do not have enough space in your start up disk - you must delete some files"-restarted; only got startup noise then blank screen. i waited for a few minutes to see if it would load - nothing just the lit up screen but nothing loaded - held power button it asked did i really want to turn off - i selected shutdown -turned off and left it off for awhile tried to turn on no noise no screen load. the same lit up screen but nothing loading.  please help thx in advance if anyone can offer some suggestions

You can get there from here (booting normally); it just may take you a few steps to do it.
If the disk is almost full and the system won't boot then sometimes it will boot in Safe Mode.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564?viewlocale=en_US
Empty the trash after it boots.
Then for hints on how to free disk/SSD storage see https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5872318?tstart=0
If the Safe Mode boot does not do the trick then you can install OS X on an external hard disk, boot from that, and then delete files.  You can also reach the disk via Target Mode.  A third option is to take it to an Apple store where they can do a network boot and help you remove some files.

  • MBP 2.4 Not strong enough? Dropped frames? Tutorial Files

I just got the book FCP Editing (PEACH PIT), editing monk, sea world and commercial.
Keep getting errors that DISK not fast enough (running from external HD), or too many RT (turned it to SAFE=still got error), any idea? The whole project is in red, perhaps I don't have a setting set up correct? Surely this system is CPU FPU fast enough.
    Advice?
    Thanks

    Perhaps your settings aren't correct.
What is the format of the media, and what is the flavor of your 'external HD' -- FW400? USB? FW800?
    What are your sequence settings?
Welcome to the forum... we'll get this straightened out!!

  • 'java': "Could not reserve enough space on heap" on 48G Linux machine

I have installed the 64bit version of jdk-1.6.0-17 from java.sun.com on my RedHat Linux machine with 48G internal memory.
All the java commands return :
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Could not create the Java virtual machine.
strace shows that java is trying to allocate 25% of my memory, ie 12G, and my virtual memory limit is 6G.
The 32bit 1.6.0-16 did not expose this behaviour. I haven't tried the 32bit version of 1.6.0-17, sorry, but I do need those 64 bits. And I haven't tried the 64bit 1.6.0-16 either, should I?
