Keep history in dimension table, how to map. Pls help

First I need to load into TargetDim1 from Source1
Second I need to check if in Source1, the record that match TargetDim1 is updated to some value, if so I need to update the end_dt of that record in TargetDim1. If there is a new record in the Source1, then I need to insert into TargetDim1 a new record.
Before in TargetDim1

I did go through the help online SCD type 2. But very confused. Anyone have any reference explain more detail than the ORacle document. Please send. Thnks for the help

Problem in using translation builder table??? pls help

Hi,
You can add attributes in the View to store the selected values .
For eg Add gv_index type i.
Now in the On select first table add a parameter NEW_LEAD_SELECTION type IF_WD_CONTEXT_ELEMENT in the action.
Now
use the get index method.

Now when u press the Delete Button the wd_this->gv_index gives the current index which u have selected before

iChat (it would help to know which version) can accept Apple IDs as valid AIM Screen Names.
However if you have iChat 5 or earlier you cannot use ones ending in @me.com or @icloud.com issued by iCloud. (they can be used in iChat 6 or Messages as these versions make a double login to AIM and Apple to allow the use of the password).
In addition if you are using an Apple ID for an AIM Screen Name the password still needs to keep to the 16 character limit that AIM has.
AN @mac.com name can be used on any version of iChat (Until the 30th June 2014)
As it does not need a double check with Apple you can use it to log in to the AIM Web pages
Login here with an AIM Name registered at AIM or and @mac.com name and see if you get any suspended account messages.
Sometimes account can be suspended. Usually because something has triggered the "Unusual Activity" item.
About a year ago many @mac.com users that travelled out of their own country found themselves suspended when they got home.
If the Name checks out of if an Apple ID the password in known to be 16 characters or Less then do this:-
In Lion upwards open a Finder Window and use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library that appears in the menu list.
Navigate to Preferences.
(If you have version earlier than Lion the just navigate to ~/Library/Preferences (that's the Library in you Home - Little House icon - folder)
Fnd com.apple.ichat.aim.plist (even if you are using Messages)
Drag the file to the Trash and Restart the app.

I have three tables linkdetails, wingdetails and vendordetails. A link is connecting two wings... and link is provided by a vendor.. So the fields of linkdetails are---- linkdetails: linkid , linkname, vendorid,wing_a_id,wing_b_id
vendordetails: vendorid, vendorname, contactnumber
wingdetails: wingid,wingname,city
So i want a query that retrieves all the fields from linkdetails, vendorname from vendordetails wingname corresponding to wing_a_id, wingname corresponding to wing_b_id from wingdetails for a particular linkid..

I believe you are correct. I had to replace my phone and it was necessary to enter the (3 digit) security code from the credit card the first time I updated some apps on the new phone. Thereafter only the password was requested.

On practicing I have followed the step. 1st i have created InfoArea, 2nd Infosource, 3rd Application component, 4th Infoobject, and 5th Infocube. I was not able to create dimension table. Could any one help me how to create dimension table.

Hi Soumendra,
I think you are stuck in creating the InfoCube (IC), when you create the IC you need to have 3mandatory dimensions like time, unit and data packet as well as Customer defined like say Customer, Product etc.
You need to insert them in IC and activate them.

Bridge or Dimension Table Aggregation

If you tryed to aggregate fields of a bridge or dimension table, maybe you had a message like "[nQSError: 14026] Unable to navigate requested expression".
You can't aggregate fields directly on a bridge or dimension table. You need to include the bridge or dimension table on the source of the fact table:
- On fact table properties, "Sources", select the fact table, and "Edit..." button
- On "General" click "Add..." and select the bridge or dimension table
- On "Column Mapping" include the field of the new table to be aggregated
- Now, on fact table properties, "General", select the new field, double click, and select the aggregation mode (distinct count for example).

Reject Category (VARCHAR2)
Reject Code (VARCHAR2)
Reject Code Desc (VARCHAR2)
Site Desc (VARCHAR2)
Site Code (VARCHAR2)
Region Desc (VARCHAR2)
Age Group (VARCHAR2)
Reject Date (DATE)
The hierarchy required is as follows:
Reject Category -> Reject Code Desc -> Site Desc -> Region Desc -> Age Group -> Reject Date.
I want to produce count on each hierachy level.
How to populate the hierachy structure effectively?

Distinct Count Measure on Dimension table via Bridge table.

I have Dim_Devices Table, which is linked to other dimension like Dim_User and Dim_City.
All these table has many to many relationship defined in bridge table i.e. B_Devices_User_City using referential keys.
I want to derive measure such as
Select Count(Dim_Devices[Device_Id])
where Dim_Devices.Validity_End_Date is null
Note : Device_Id and Validity_End_Date are present in Same Dim_Devices Dimension Table.

Now, I have define DistinctCount Agreegation on Dim_Devices table which will use reference Relationship on B_Devices_User_City. My Count is correct.
But, I came across one more issue, i.e. From Processed and deployed cube, I am trying to create off-line Cube/or Global Cube (I have given syntax below) which is for limited set of dimensions and measures, I found that It shows me error due
to such relationship.
Does it mean that, For Global Cube, Can't we use DistinctCount/Count agreegation?

Hi,
The ratio of size of fact table to dimension table is ideally should be 10:1. That means the size of the dimension tables should be 10% of the size of the fact table. This serves better in terms of performance.
Whenever you load any cube, you can easily find out the number of records in fact table (E and F table) and the dimension tables. Based on that statistics you can determine the ratio of size in fact and dimension tables.

Incremental load into the Dimension table

Hi,
I have the problem in doing the incremental load of the dimension table.Before loading into the dimension table,i would like to check the data in the dimnesion table.
In my dimension table i have one not null surrogate key and the other null dimension tables.The not null surrogate key, i am populating with the Sequence Generator.
To do the incremental load i have done the following.
I made lookup into the dimension table and looked for a key.The key from the lookup table i have passed to the expression operator.In the expression operator i have created one field and hard coded one flag based on the key from the lookup table.I passed this flag to the filter operator and rest of the fields from the source.
By doing this i am not able to pass the new records to the dimension table.
Can you please help me.
I have another question also.
How do i update one not null key in the fact table.

Help on Setting logical Levels in Fact tables and on Dimension tables

Hi all
Can any body provide any blogs or any king of material on what exactly is levelling .
Like after creating the Dimensional hierarchies we need to set the logical levels for the LTS of fact tabels ri8 .So what is the difference between setting logical levels to fact tabels and also Setting levelling on Dimension tables .
