You use the menu button at the bottom of the screen, it looks like a little venetian blind. Then click settings. It probably wants you to enable cookies or something like that - does it say?

  • Kindle Fire and emails

    Hello,
I may be in the wrong place here, but can anyone tell us how to SEND emails on our new Kindle fire?  We can receive them fine. We have a desktop with XP and use Outlook Express; we are with BT Broadband.  We thought we'd done everything correctly, but obviously not.
    Many thanks.

If its the standard Kindle email you are using and are happy with POP3 set up try these settings. (Obviously user name and password are your own BTYahoo ones). You may have used this set up

  • My iPhone 4S won't load email messages from my local carrier. It works sometimes and then won't.  The local carrier says it is not them and to contact apple.  Been happening since got Kindle Fire. Could this be doing it?

My iphone  4S  won't load email messages from my local carrier on a regular basis.  It says cannot get mail in use on another device.  I thought everything was to sync together?  Local carrier tells me it is Apple not them.  It's been happening since I got my Kindle Fire about a month ago.  Any ideas how to make everything work together?????  Does it when kindle is off to sometimes.  Thanks.

    Hi Maquillage,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  I would recommend troubleshooting the iPhone by following the instructions in this article:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281
    Resolution
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more aboutrestoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
    Cheers,
    - Ari

  • Can't connect Kindle Fire HD to BT Home Hub 3

I've just bought a Kindle Fire HD and can't get it to connect to my BT Home Hub (I think it's a 3) I have an ipad and iphone and they are connecting fine....help?

See link for connecting an Android tablet. It should be more or less the same for a Kindle Fire.
    http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/44480/c/346
Make sure you use the wireless passkey found on the label of the hub and not the admin password or your email password.

    Hi,
I'm sorry you had this issue, following is a direct link, but note that you may not receive update notices in the future so you'll have to keep Firefox up-to-date manually.

There is work in progress to make Firefox mobile available in the amazon app store, see bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=690791

  • How do I get Eprint to work on my kindle fire

I just got a new kindle fire hd  and can't seem to set up printing from it my printer is officejet 6500a all in one printer.

The kindle fire supports the eprint home and biz app, which is available in the Amazon Market. This will allow you to print photo and document files from the device.
The other alternative is simply to email things to the printers email address.

There is no more Flash Player for Android and there won't be another. Android is no longer compatible with Flash Player since June of 2012. That WON'T change.
    Historically:
2008 (March) - Apple® releases the first iPhone, using iOS®. Steve Jobs is insistent and adamant that iOS® is NOT compatible with Flash® and NEVER WILL BE. Jobs' reasoning is that playing Flash® content is processor consumptive and it drains batteries, thus shortening the life of them in mobile devices. In six years, that hasn't changed. Not for the iPhone®, iPad® or iPod® Touch™. It never will change and there never will be a Flash Player® for iOS®.
2008 (September) - Google® introduces Android™ to compete with iOS®, for people who don't want to pay what Apple® is asking for an iPhone®. Android®, unlike its Apple® counterpart IS compatible with Flash®.
2012 (June) - Android™ (Google®) announces the end of support for Flash® with Android™ 4.3. Going forward NO Android™ devices will be compatible with Flash®, but older versions on older devices can still be loaded with "legacy" builds still available from Adobe®. Android™ (Google®) cites the same reason Apple® did for the decision to end support for Flash®. Adobe® continues to release security patches to Flash Player® for Android™ until September 2013, announcing the "end of life" for Android™ Flash® September 10.
Android (Google) recommends you use either Dolphin or Puffin as your browser if you must view Flash content, but they try to discourage it for the above outlined reasons.

  • Bluetooth speakers not working on kindle fire HD 7...

I have a kindle fire HD 7" and bluetooth is not working for in-call audio
When the device is paired with my bluetooth speakers, the sounds of the volume changes and other gui clicks go out over the bluetooth speakers but the actual audio of the skype video call still go via the kindle's builtin speakers.
    NOTES:
    - I made sure to connect to bluetooth speaker before starting skype.
    - Other applications are working with my bluetooth speakers (e.g. playing music, spotify radio, etc)

I have a reply from Amazon on this issue and have used the contact details they provided to contact Skype BUT with NO response!!!!   Why oh why do Skype ignore its users??????
    Amazon respnse:
Thank you for contacting Amazon Appstore Support.
I'm sorry to hear that you have had issues using your Bluetooth speaker with Skype.
There is an explanation for this, however, I must warn you that it is a bit technical.
Apps on the Kindle Fire play audio through one channel which does support Bluetooth audio. Device sounds on the Kindle Fire play audio through a different channel which does not support Bluetooth.
Now the problem is that when the developers of Skype created Skype for Kindle Fire they routed the sound through the device sound channel opposed to the Apps channel.
This means that that Skype does not support Bluetooth speakers.
As the app was not developed by Amazon, you may want to contact the developer of the app, Skype Software, for product support and troubleshooting.

  • How do I e-print a forwarded e-mail from my Kindle Fire?

How do I e-print a forwarded e-mail from my Kindle Fire?  I bought the e-printer so I could print out my e-mails but I can't get it to print forwards.

the eprintcenter will not print emails and their attachments that have more than one recepient. You need to address the email to just your eprintcenter email address only if you want to print that way.
There is a HP app on the android market that allows for network printing from android devices as well. Maybe your Fire will allow you to install that.

  • No audio on Skype on my Kindle Fire HD 8.9"

When participating in a Skype video call, I am not receiving any audio on my KFHD.  My audio works fine in all other programs.  Actually, I can just verily hear the audio... kind of like having your sound come through your headphones without putting your headphones on (or in) your ears.
I had Amazon Tech Support troubleshoot the problem with me and they were dumbfounded, just am I!  So, they referred me to the Skype website for assistance.
    Any suggestions?  Thanks!!

Same problem with original Kindle Fire. Worked great, then update - now no incoming audio. Actually there may be audio as I get feedback when next to the called device. Guess only dogs can hear my Skype on Kindle now! Very, Very disappointed.
I called Amazon Customer Service and after an hour of trying to restore an older version of Skype, they told me the only thing left to do was a Kindle Factory Reset, which would make it like it came from the factory. Any data or anything I had downloaded would be GONE, so I would have to back up all pictures, emails, contacts, etc first.  All my Apps would have to be re-downloaded. They could not guarantee that this would even fix the problem. I decided it was too drastic a measure.  Its  abummer because my Kindle has 4G LTE and I have an unlimited Skype U.S and Canada calling subscription.   I use Skype instead of having an expensive cell phone contract or a land line.

  • Kindle fire app

I downloaded the kindle fire app for Adobe reader but it keeps freezing says 'not responding' and either wait or close. I say wait but it won't start working and have to close. Lose all of my work. Tried uninstalling and reloading but it just does the same thing. Is there something wrong with the app or another one I can be seen? I use the Adobe reader on my laptop and would like to keep the two compatible but don't know anything about these apps and which one would work for reading, making notes on, and highlighting texts. Is there another app that would do the same thing as Adobe reader?

What do you mean by Kindle fire app for Adobe Reader. Adobe provide Reader on Android platform for reading PDF files.
Could you please send one such file which freezes the Adobe Reader App to us at DL-adobereader-android <[email protected]> for us to investigate the issue?
Please include this forum thread link in the email for reference.

  • How do I get a Kindle Fire to print wirelessly to an HP Envy 120

Can I get a Kindle Fire to print on an HP Envy 120.
    I would appreciate help.
    Chris Maton

In order to print from the Kindle Fire, you first must be using an app that supports printing. For example, the default Email app that is installed with the Kindle Fire offers the Print option via the overflow menu. Once you choose the Print option, you'll see a list of printers that are connected to your network. You're Kindle Fire needs to be wirelessly connected to your network.
    I work for HP.

Kindle is connected directly, not thru a hub.  Also called Amazon Kindle support, tech was baffled when I told her I was using a Mac.  She said, "I'm not really familiar with apple products."
Precisely why it's not an iPad, and why it doesn't cost very much.  An Apple rep would tell you how to connect an iPad to every computer.

    Hi erica.laqua,
The latest Kindle Fire HD is not officially supported by Flash Player.  Please see this page for a list of all certified devices:
