KodoHelper.getSequenceGenerator(PersistenceManager pm, Class forClass) and class hierarchies

Hi,
probably you guys have thought of it, but I just wanted to make sure:
when I call getSequenceGenerator(PersistenceManager pm, Class forClass)
for class A and class B having a common superclass C, will I get the
same SequenceFactory on both calls? Or, in other words, are sequence
numbers sequential for PersistenceCapable classes from the same class
hierarchy?
It's not mentioned in the docs, but I'm going to depend on it.
Thanks for clarification,
J__rg.

Joerg-
That depends on the underlying SequenceFactory you are using. If you are
using the default sequence generator, then sequence numbers will be
globally unique, regardless of the class you are using it for.
For more details on the sequence generators, see:

Alright, looks like I'd only run into problems if I configured the
db-class (ClassDBSequenceFactory
<http://docs.solarmetric.com/javadoc/kodo/jdbc/schema/ClassDBSequenceFactory.html>)
SequenceFactory (which I don't).
Thanks,

  • Why class defination and class implementaion separated in abap?

    hai experts,
                           i hav doubt why  class defination and class implementaion separated in abap. In know in  C++  its  possible
            but in JAVA its not possible . what is the main reson behind this concept in ABAP.
    thanks in adv.

    Hi Sree,
    As far as I feel, it's been done with a view of readability. As you know that ABAP  is very well modularized and organized programing language. When you define a local ABAP  Class, you define two seperate sections of it. You define the Class Definition and then you define the Implementations. This way you can really have a look at all the class definitions which are organized in the same section. Then you can have a look at the selected implementation.
    But if this hasn't been the scenario, then as developer looking at the complex classes would have made life hell for you. You can very well figure it out how good to keep things organized for later class maintainance and readability.
    Hope this would shed some light on your question.
    Thanks,
    Samantak.

    Not sure if this is what you are asking, but...
    You have jars that reference each other (sounds pretty tightly coupled to me, maybe they shouldn't be in separate jars, but I digress) and each has a manifest file in META-INF, right?
    To reference another jar's contents, simply add it to the Class-Path variable in your manifest. Then you can reference the classes as if they were all unjarred and slapped in the same directories.

  • Java class libraries and class paths

    I'm using NetBeans IDE 6
    I'm trying to make a class library (which is started from another application).
    This is supposed to connect to a SQL 2005 database by first registering the SQLServerDriver from the sqljdbc.jar library.
    I've tried it in an Application with a main class and it runs fine. But when I move the built classes to the folder I want them to run from, I get a ClassNotFound exception for the ServerDriver when run.
    I'm assuming it is a problem with the classpath after I make the move, is there anything special I need to do to keep the classpath intact so it can find the driver?
    Sorry if it's too vague, I can try to clarify things if needed.

    See this NetBeans tutorial:

  • Characteristics for class type 001 and class 59111 - Message Re-phrased

    Hi All,
    Let me put in better words.
    The requirement is to get the list of Characteristics that are associated with a particular Class type and Class that would be entered by the user in selection screen. I have used KLAH and KSML to establish the link and got the relevant characteristics list configured. It worked for me for most of the Class type and Class combination.
    The issue is on particular class type 001 and class 59111, if I put a lookup in KSML, I don't get any records. But if we look in the configuration CL02 for the same Class type 001 and class 59111, I see a list of characteristics configured there.
    Does anyone know how to fetch the characteristics on this particular case?
    Thanks
    Rajesh.

    Hi Sylendra,
    Thanks for looking into it and replying with your thoughts.
    What you have mentioned about the approach on getting the characteristcs from KLAH and KSML is exactly how I have written in my program. Ofcourse your second statement of going into AUSP to get the values for characteristics for an Object (eg: material number XXXX) is also correct.
    But my issue is still on getting the relevant characteristics for the class tyoe 001 and class 59111. I need to display to user the relevant characteristics  that are configured for Class type 001 and class 59111. But when I go into KSML passing the internal class number and class type, I don't get any records. If you see, I am not searching characteristic values for an object, I am searching for characteristics itself.
    The question would be, why records are not maintained in KSML for class 59111 (though they show in CL03) . or there are any other tables to read characteristics...
    Thanks
    Rajesh.

  • Problem accessing Class A from Class B in the same package

    Hi,
    I have two classes, Class A and Class B residing in the same directory.
    Class A is called as QuitGreen65
    Class B is called as Green65
    QuitGreen65 has been defined as
    public class QuitGreen65 extends Dialog {
    and Green65 has been defined as
    public class Green65 extends Frame {
    In Green65 I have a function with the following piece of code
    void Green65_WindowClosing_Interaction1(java.awt.event.WindowEvent event)
         try {
              // QuitDialog Create and show as modal
              (new QuitGreen65(this, true)).setVisible(true);
    catch (Exception e) {
    Althoug this looks fine to me, I am getting the following error during compilation
    Green65.java:267: cannot resolve symbol
    symbol : class QuitGreen65
    location: class Green65
    (new QuitGreen65(this, true)).setVisible(true);
    ^
    Could anyone please help me in resolving this situation,
    Thanks,
    Rahul.

    This would happen if the class path were incorrect. The classpath needs to include the location of the root of the package hierarchy and the hierarchy needs to be reflected in your directory structure.

  • Composition in java : how to access super-class from sub-class

    I have 3 classes related by composition

    in class C{
    getSample(){
         //Try to access class A
    how can I access A from class C ?
    Any help is appreciated!

    well, 'Id' is known only to class A, and class C has a getSample() which is called in class A.
    class A{
    B b = new B();
    getID(){
    return id;
    b.getC().getSample();
    class B{
    List<C> cList = new ArrayList<C>();
    class C{
    getSample(){
    if() {
    //pick up value from properties file
    // format the value and parameter substitute it with 'Id' from A
    The design does seem a little weird, but I guess this is the only way to do this considering the other constraints we have ....

  • Problem with reference and class

    I would like to transit a Data object in member function of another class with Labview 9.0 reference with "In place element structure". I use the reference for optimize allocation memory.
    When i use a dispatch static : Vi is executable  -> "TestRefAppExt Statique.vi"
    With Dispatch dynamic : Vi is not executable (because Read/Write a reference's data value : class's Object in a reference can't be replaced by another) -> "TestRefAppExt DynamiqueWithoutParent.vi"/"TestRefAppExt DynamiqueWityParent.vi"
    When i use Preserve Run-Time Class function the Vi becomes executable
    but it creates some allocations. Labview creates copy of data object
    when i'm running the vi. (increase size of data you'll see)
    The problem is that i can't recuparate the same object without copy in dispatch dynamic. Because LabView can't change the data object transited in a dispatch dynamic function of another class (child class).
    I compared in project labview Execution's performance with and without Reference in dynamic and static and for compare, with Message Box and a Reference of Data object's cluster.
    Without reference, i made three Vi : "TestAppExt Statique.vi", "TestAppExt DynamiqueWithParent.vi" and  "TestAppExt DynamiqueWithoutParent.vi"
    The static's function works well, but when Labview calls dispacth Dynamic functions, it works more slowly.
    With reference, i made three vi too : "TestRefAppExt Statique.vi", "TestRefAppExt DynamiqueWithParent.vi" and "TestRefAppExt DynamiqueWithoutParent.vi" with cast Preserve Run-Time Class.
    All This functions are more slowly than without reference.
    I tried for fun to test with the same class with Message Box : "TestRefAppExt Fifo.vi" and Cluster "TestRefAppExt DynamiqueCluster.vi" with the dynamic function. The result is better than with reference in dynamic.
    "TestRefAppExt StatiqueRef.vi" and "TestRefAppExt DynamiqueRef.vi" are a solution of this problem but it's better to work with In place element structure. And it doesn't resolve reference performance in execution.
    Why it's not possible to recuperate data object after a dispatch dynamic?
    Why the performance is not good with LabView reference 2009?
     I attached the project.
     Could you help me please
    thank you so much.

    Yes, it helps but there is one thing that isn't being replicated which is the possibility to remove the link from the generated editor.
    My EMF looks like:
    @gmf.node(label="uri", figure="ellipse", label.edit.pattern="{0}", label.view.pattern="<<Class>> {0}", label.icon="false")
    class Class extends Resource {
    @gmf.link(target="subClassOf", target.decoration="arrow", label.text="subClassOf", label.readOnly="true")
    ref Class[*] subClassOf;
    And when I do the fix with self.subClassOf.remove(self) the link isn't removed (although now the model now passes the validation). Is there any easy way to do that?

  • What is the field and Table for "Batch Class" and "Class Type" in QM.

    Hi All,
    What is the field and Table for "Batch Class" and "Class Type" in QM.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
      For batch class the class type value is '023' . This you can find from KLAH table and the fileld for class type is KLART..
    And also all the data related to batch class are found in tables INOB, KLAH,KKSK and for the characeteristics of batch materials you can refer AUSP table.
    In INOB table, for batch class, you need to give 023 in KLART field and  value MCH1 in OBTAB filed.
    Please check this and let me know if this you need any more details?
