L9: Can I pull 4 tracks into one Take folder so that I can comp them?

I had a pro singer send 4 tracks, which are 4 takes of the same lead vocal. I'd like to be able to create a new take folder so that I can comp them. I RTFM but can't find info on this... is it possible?
Also, the tracks were out of sync with my Project (my idiotic mistake!) so I needed to add 3.76 seconds of silence to the beginning of his tracks so that everything lined up. I could not find any easy way to line things up, nor could I add the 3.76 seconds of silence. I finally brought the tracks into Peak and was able to add the silence.
I'm sure it's user error, so can someone show me the error of my ways?

Yes Christian,yes you can.
OK, pull up your arrange, select all the audio you want to pack in the arrange window. right click on those files ( or ctrl click depending on the mouse you have ) Bottom of the menu, Folder/pack take folder.

I have a "take folder" with a few attempts at a vocal track, but before I learned about this feature, I recorded another take on the vocals, which is still a separate track, outside of the take folder with the other takes. Go to the Info inspector for the still image and in settings select the alpha type.

No, that's not what the Consolidate command is for. That command for getting all your track files into a single folder. To get all the tracks in an album to appear together, just Get Info on the tracks and make the album name all the same for each track. See:

I imported a CD that I had burned previously with the 2 tracks of sound effects that I had downloaded from the internet (MP3 files), but I did not see an option to join the tracks when I imported the CD. In the upper right corner there were three buttons: Options, CD Info, and Import CD. When I click on Options, the drop-down menu has two choices: "Get Track Names" and "Submit CD Track Names". I cannot find an option to Join Tracks. Help!

Hi, I have a stack of five video tracks that make up an identification placard for a speaker. I need to create motion on this, but don't want to have to do it to every track individually. Select the tracks and type Option - C, or go to the menu Sequence > Nest Item(s).
That will nest the tracks in to one clip on your timeline. If you need to make changes in the nest, double click on the nested clip in the timeline and it will re-open the tracks that have been nested.

I have tried to sort all the tracks into one album to listen to the complete CD without having to keep choosing every song individually while on the nano.I have tried everything, sorting it by album/album and artist and also renaming the artist feat. so and so... can somebody please help me with this issue. How to join two or more separate tracks into one track

I have a CD of music that I want to import. It is a study tool so all the tracks are parcelled up for easier examination- i.e. Beethoven's Symphony no. 5 in C Minor is not one long track, it is cut into 28 separate tracks ranging in time from 26 seconds 2:31 (minutes).
What I want to do is make all 28 tracks into one track so there is continuous play. I've tried the gapless album option. It didn't do the trick. Now I can just select continuous play button, but for things like 'party shuffle' it doesn't quite work - you end up with a 30 second blurb of a song.
Any suggestions?

Insert the CD.
Select the songs you want as one track then menu Advanced -> Join CD tracks, then import the CD.

Hi,
You can use an app such as Audacity or Join Together to create one larger file. If AAC file used instead of mp3, you could use GarageBand.
If you have the original CD, you can join the tracks whilst re importing disc.

Usually, they all need to have the same exact tags for Album & Album Artist.
Or maybe the "Part of a Compilation" checkbox is giving problems.

Consolidate tracks into one album

I have the latest version of itunes and I ripped one of my cd's last night. It's a 2 disc album and it ripped disc 2 fine as one album, but disc one is all separate tracks.
I have selected all the tracks and clicked "get into", changed all the info to the same and it used to combine all the tracks into one album, but now for some reason it won't work. I have tried the "consolidate" option and that doesn't work either.
I don't particularly like the new itunes interface to be honest, it looks very cold and uninviting

Thanks for your reply. I was trying to do this last night, I updated to itunes 11 a few days ago. I turned on my laptop this morning and found there was another update, so I updated and now it works!
The album in question is a various artists one, so I change the album artist to various artists, so it preserves the artist name on each individual track.
I don't know about you, but when an album has more than one disc, I always re-number the tracks and combine them all into one complete album, it looks tidier that way, instead of having disc 1, disc 2 etc.
I guess I'll have to get used to the new interface of itunes, as long as it works properly that's all that matters I suppose.
