Are you trying to launch IE in a separate window or display it on LabVIEW front panel? Your code seems to do the former. Just make sure that the reference wired to the Invoke Node is correct. You can download and try this example for reference.
For the later case, you can use the ready-made ActiveX Container for Web Browser in the .NET & Active X pallette, as seen below.
Then on the block diagram simply use the property or invoke node you need. Here is an example to simply navigate to a URL:
There is also a downloadable example for this method. Complete description of the properties and methods you can use is available in MSDN.
Finally, ensure that you have internet connection

  • Application Builder Error "Browse to LabVIEW.exe"

    LabVIEW gurus...
I am currently building a standalone app from my project.  When I run the application (which builds successfully), LabVIEW prompts me to browse to the LabVIEW.exe file.  However, I want this app to run on a computer that will not have LabVIEW installed, and so browsing to this file isn't an option.
I know that the reason for this problem is that I'm using 2 call library functions named StrLen and MoveBlock within the LabVIEW.exe library (to access data from a pointer to a pointer).
LabVIEW.exe shows up as one of the dependencies in my project, but I can't figure out how to add it to my build specifications.  I tried to build an installer and include the LabVIEW runtime environment, but this doesn't seem to work either.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    I'm using LabVIEW 8.6.
    Thanks,
    Jason
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

In the dll call simply type LabVIEW without any path. This should work (I used it on 7.1)to automagicallylink it.
The functions are also located in the lvrt.dll which is the main part of the runtime engine.

  • Html/exe/web browser errors

Hi, When opening certain <g class="gr_ gr_454 gr-alert gr_spell ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" data-gr-id="454" id="454">exe</g>. or trying to install programs I get notification windows opening saying
cannot connect to this site, and do I want to save this download. When trying to install flash for instance it's now impossible because these notices have taken the place of the real installer. The same with gmail notifier and others. I had to turn it off as
I was getting continuous cannot download this file errors, and cannot connect to the web browser. Which of course I don't want to do anyway! I have done the obvious.<g class="gr_ gr_920 gr-alert gr_spell ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace"
data-gr-id="920" id="920">Adw</g> cleaner, Malwarebytes and re-registered and repaired file associations. Still stuck and I'm totally perplexed.

    Hi,
    What's does your meaning by "<g class="gr_ gr_454 gr-alert gr_spell ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" data-gr-id="454" id="454">exe</g>. "? I'm a bit confused with your description, it would be better
to provide a screenshot for your problem.
If this is just Browser problem, you can try to reset IE for test.
    Internet Options->Settings->Advanced->Reset
After that, restart your computer to check if the problem resolved.

  • Capturing web browser events in the labview

    Hi,
I am using the Web browser on my front panel (Lab View 8.2) and I can type in the URL and it opens up the website on my front panel. I want to listen to the events happening in the web browser. For example if I click a link on the web page being displayed on my front panel and it opens up a Windows file browser, then how can I listen to this event?
What I am trying to acheive is to automate the process of saving the file if the windows file browser opens up asking for the location for saving the file.
    Thanks.
    Kam

You need to use event callbacks for the active X component. You can see some examples in the example finder. I think one even uses the web.

  • More than 1 user access control of vi via web browser

    Hi all,
Currently I've a vi that need to share it with other PCs using web browser (eg: IE) I've tried using Web Publishing Tools and I noticed that only 1 pc at a time can grant access control of the vi. May I know is there any methods or other 3rd party software that could possibly able to give multiple PCs to control one vi simultaneously over the net using web browser? THANKS!!!...

    Hello,
I’m not so sure that using VNC or remote desktop to have
multiple users control LabVIEW is really in-line with our license policy.  I suppose if you built your program into an executable
and had the VNC users access the exe program they wouldn't really be using the development
environment so I suppose this would be ok…
I found a tutorial which might help.  Check out: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/conceptd.nsf/webmain/bc79065d8b2e0d0886256c590072a454.

  • Chrome - Adobe-Acrobat/Reader can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser.

I can't view PDF files via Chrome (it works on Internet Explorer but I prefer Chrome)  -  the error below has arisen recently on Chrome, though I can't see what has changed.
    "Acrobat plug-in
The Adobe-Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser. Please exit  Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again."
I have looked through Forum articles on similar errors and have tried the following(text copied from other Forum entries)
    Repair Adobe Acrobat (from Acrobat)
Repair Adobe Acrobat (from Control Panel
Configure Acrobat  as a helper application: Choose Edit > Preferences., Select Internet on the left., Deselect Display PDF In Browser Using [Acrobat application], and then click OK.Quit Acrobat or Reader
Create a registry item for Acrobat: with Regedit: If the registry item doesn't exist on the system, do the following: Go to Edit > New > Key and create the missing HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe.Go to Edit > New > String Value and name this key (Default).Select (Default), and then go to Edit > Modify. Type the Adobe Acrobat path in the "Value data" for your product.,restart your computer
Repair the HKCR\AcroExch.Document registry key: Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AcroExch.Document., Right-click AcroExch.Document and select Delete; make sure that you have the correct key, and click Yes on any prompts, Right-click AcroExch.Document.7 and select Delete; make sure that you have the correct key, and click Yes on any prompts. Repair your Acrobat  installation
None has solved the problem. However it still works ok with IE. But I want to stick with Chrome because I find IE is so slow!
I am using Vista, with Adobe Acrobat standard 9.5.2 and Google Chrome version 23.0.1271.64 m which is marked on Chrome as 'up to date'
Does anyone know why I might be getting this error on Chrome but not IE?

I think I have discovered the answer to my own question!
I have disabled Adobe Reader plug-in, and can now see PDFs in Chrome.
(Steps: Chrome Menu, Settings option, Click Advanced Settings link, then Content Settings button, then select Disable Individual Plug-Ins, and a list of plug-ins is offered to enable or disable).
I then get a different result depending on whether or not Chrome PDF viewer is enabled - with it enabled I see the PDF document in Chrome, or with it disabled then the option is offered to download it, but either way I can get it it via Chrome without having to run Internet explorer in another browser window.

  • Report Output in a web browser. URGENT!!!

I would appreciate if someone can solve my problem....
When I run a report from the report builder, the output is displayed in the web browser as when in live previwer, In view menu, web preview, Generate to Web browser in checked.
I want to have a shortcut to this report on my desktop. I want that whenever I click this short cut, my report should run in the default internet browser but it is not executing.
I have also tried to run this report by making a button in a Form and using run_product on the when-button-pressed trigger but this is also not working.
I want an output in the web browser 'cuz the output contain some hyperlinks pointing to some word documents saved as html.
    Awaiting an urgent reply.....
    HASAN.

    Hello Hassan,
try it with an Batch File
    c:\orant\bin\rwrun60.exe userid=scott/tiger@oracledb module=c:\test1.rep
before you compile the report to an rep-file you have to do some settings in the systemparameters "atributepallete" under your module.
    1. set the parameter Desformat under value* on "htmlcss"
    2. set the parameter Desname under value* on "c:\test1.html" or the "wwwroot" directory.
    3. set the parameter Destype under value* on "file"
then compile the report to c:\test1.rep an test the batch file you've created.
    much luck
    Udo

When I start mozilla firefox web browser, sometimes I see a message saying that "a Mozilla Firefox is already running, please close it or restart your system". As a matter of fact, there is no firefox browser running at that time. Since I cannot do anything about it, I have to restart my computer before I can use the web browser, which bothers me dearly. What is the problem?

Plug-in and tasks started by Firefox may continue after attempting to close Firefox. The "X" in the upper right-hand corner closes the Window (same as Ctrl+Shift+W) but even if it is the last Firefox window, it does not necessarily close Firefox .
'''The only proper way to exit Firefox is to use Exit through the File menu''', not the "X" in the upper right corner of last Firefox window.

  • "Cannot use adobe reader to view pdf in your web browser" error in Windows 7 and Acrobat pro 8.1.7

I get the error "Cannot use adobe reader to view pdf in your web browser.  Reader will now exit.  Please exit your browser and try again" in Windows 7 x32 and Windows 7 x64 with Acrobat pro 8.1.7.  This happens when trying to open  a PDF file in Internet explorer 8.0.760 or when I open a PDF in Quickbooks 2008.  If I answer ok or cancel the file opens normally.  If I open acrobat 8 first then the pdf files open as expected.  I also tried a copy of Acrobat reader with no difference in the outcome.  Since this happens on two different computers one fresh copy of windows 7 x64 the other an upgrade to windows 7 x32 and they used to work before the change to windows 7, I assume there is some kind of incompatibility with windows 7 and acrobat.  Is this a known issue and will it be fixed in an update to acrobat in the near future?

tvandersluijs - I'm sorry if that screwed up your machine however:
    1. What version of Adobe Reader are you using because as you can see the registry entry is for Adobe Reader 9, if ur using Adobe Reader 8 then u need to specify ur version as PAllens entry suggested - "E.g. "C:\Program files\Adobe\Acrobat [version]\Reader\AcroRd32.exe""
    2. I've used this solution significantly because I have come across this specific issue for multiple users.
    3. All the registry entry does is tell Windows what program to use by default to open/view PDF documents.
My intention wasn't to screw up ur machine or anybody elses as I said I've used this solution many times however what I've should gave is the disclaimer to backup ur registry before u make mods so u can revert back in case. Also the ony other thing I can think of is that this solution was for Windows XP using registry editior 5, I'm noticing that the title of this thread is Windows 7.

Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different PC. (If you're on a 32-bit Windows system, try to download on a different 32-bit Windows system.) Copy the iTunesSetup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install from the ExHD, thumb or CD-R.) Start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.

  • Issues showing PDF files in web-browser (Windows 7 x64, 32-bit version of AdobeReader X)

I'm not sure if this is the right way to share my experience, but at least I know Google will discover this thread eventually and maybe someone else will find what I have been looking for the past 3 hours
I'm deploying the 32-bit based AdobeReader X (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4950) to Windows7 32-bit and 64-bit based machines. This is a MSI deployement done through our Active Directory. Everything goes well - no errors. Except for the x64-based machines having trouble showing PDF-files in the web-browser.
I used Adobe Customization Wizard X to customize our MSI installation - this showed out to be the solution once again.
Common for the installation on Windows7 32-/64-bit were that the value in the registry database for HKCR\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe (Default) was set to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe". This is valid for the 32-bit installation as Program Files is situated in C:\Program Files, but since it's a 32-bit edition of AdobeReader that I'm installing on the 64-bit based system as well, it's installed in C:\Program Files (x86) and the reference in the registry database to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" is therefore not valid - which explains why PDF files could not be displayed in the web browser. Changing the registry to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" solved it. Now this is a manual solution which might be useful on 1-2 machines but on a bigger scale it's not the right way to do it.
I could change it with a batch/vbs script but still this is only a solution of the symptom and not a solution to the core issue. I therefore focused on Adobe Customization Wizard X again.
The problem was easily solved. I opened the MSI file, loaded the transform file that I've made previously. Went to Registry > HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe . I then changed the (Default) value from "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" to "[INSTALLDIR]Reader\AcroRd32.exe", generated the MST file and replaced my current one for distribution. Problem solved! :-) The entry in the registry now shows : "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" and PDF files are open without any issues.
I hope someone can save a bit of time on this one.
    Best regards!
    Alex Mikkelsen

I was able install and view the files in adobe reader 10.1.1 and in web browser window 7 64 bit machine.  But when I go to Edit-preferences-internet and  unchecking "display PDF in Browser" , I am not able to view the pdf files in ie 9 browser.  I have used this javscript to check for pdf version.
    Immediately after installing adobe--
when I do adobe test in ie 9---https://courses.worldcampus.psu.edu/public/diagnostics/Acrobat.html--  launches a test pdf file--Acro_Test.pdf
After unchecking-- it stays in the  https://courses.worldcampus.psu.edu/public/diagnostics/Acrobat.html instead of showing test pdf file--Acro_Test.pdf
Tried to go back to "display PDF in Browser"--it is showing it is checked(eventhough I did not check it)
    and in ie
it stays in the https://courses.worldcampus.psu.edu/public/diagnostics/Acrobat.html instead of showing test pdf file--Acro_Test.pdf

  • Issue with opening pdf file from web browser

I have Acrobat Pro ver 6 and Adobe Reader 9.1 on a computer.  when my user tries to open up a pdf from the web he is getting the following error message:
"The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a WEb Browser.  Adbe Acrobat/Reader version 8 or 9 is required.  Please exit and try again."
What also happens is that Acrobat Pro ver 6 opens up and nothing is there.
I am not sure why he is getting that message since Reader 9.1 is installed.
Can any one shed some light on this for me.
This user needs to have Acrobat and Reader on his system.  I understand that there are issues with having both.
Also he has it set up so that any PDF is opening using the Reader 9.1.
    Thanks,

Your PC's default reader configuration for embedded PDFs has become confused, due to multiple Adobe PDF document solutions installed on one PC.
    Solution 1:
    Go to Start > Run
    Type regedit and click OK.
Browse to the following key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe
Make sure that the correct Default data value is set for the path where Adobe Reader or Acrobat are installed.
    The default installation values are:
    "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe"
    or
"C:\Program Files\adobe\acrobat 6.0\acrobat\Acrobat.exe" (not sure about this path.  Check on your PC to be sure)
depending on whether Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat is installed.
    Solution 2:
Configure the browser to use Acrobat or Adobe Reader as a helper application.
If you are using Firefox to browse the web, you can change this setting in Firefox by going to:
    Tools > Options
    Click on the "Applications" Tab.
The first item in the list should be "Adobe Acrobat Document".  Under the Action list, click the drop down arrow and select the application you want to read PDFs within the web browser.  Click OK, and you should be done.
If you're using Internet Explorer to view PDFs, try the below steps.
After you configure Acrobat or Adobe Reader as a helper application, the browser starts the helper application in a separate window and displays PDF files within that window. Acrobat and Adobe Reader both include a preference that lets you specify Acrobat or Adobe Reader as the helper application.
To configure Acrobat or Adobe Reader as a helper application:
    Start Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
    Choose Edit > Preferences.
    Select Internet on the left.
Deselect Display PDF In Browser Using [Acrobat application], and then click OK.
    Quit Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
The next time you select a link to a PDF file in the browser, a dialog box asks what you would like to do with the file. If you select Open It, the browser opens the PDF file in Acrobat or Adobe Reader (the helper application); if you select Save It To Disk, the browser saves the PDF file to your hard drive.

  • Use a web browser as the source for the vision assistant

I want to access an ip camera over the internet and then use its video feed to do some processing with the vision assistant. I was wondering if someone could tell me if this is possible and how can it be done. what I have so far is an application that works with local cameras and I also have an example of a web broser in labview. I thought I could use the web browser and use a local variable from the browser in order to get the image, but this can't be wired to the grab or snap, because its not an image, so can someone please tell me how to convert the browser into a video feed, in order for me to use it in my application.

Crop the image out of the print screen.  I imagine your screen will be a much larger resolution then the camer, and will only take up a portion of your browser window.
