Language Bar specific keyboard layout selection (ADM)

I am trying to get specific sub-types of keyboard layouts to deploy with GPO.
We have the GPO .adm and it is deploying and calling the correct keyboards, but doesn't seem to be able differentiate between the sub-types for the individual keyboards:
We can call Chinese (Simplified) PRC, but cant seem to have it specify anything within that keyboard layout - like the Chinese ZhongMa or Pinyin options.
Perhaps I'm thinking about this incorrectly
CLASS USER
   CATEGORY "Keyboard Layout"
     POLICY "Keyboard Layout switching"
     KEYNAME "Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run"
       VALUENAME "internat.exe"
       VALUEON "internat.exe"
       VALUEOFF DELETE
       END POLICY
     POLICY "Keyboard layout"
     KEYNAME "Keyboard Layout\Preload"
         PART "Enable English" CHECKBOX
           DEFCHECKED
          VALUENAME "1"
           VALUEON "00000409"
           VALUEOFF DELETE
         END PART
           PART "Enable Chinese (Simplified, PRC)" CHECKBOX
           DEFCHECKED
          VALUENAME "2"
           VALUEON "00000804"
           VALUEOFF DELETE
         END PART
END CATEGORY

Ok!  So the best thing I've found by reg searching after selecting the subset is the following -
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\CTF\TIP\
{81D4E9C9-1D3B-41BC-9E6C-4B40BF79E35E}  <----keys sets like this will populate depending on what you pick
For Example the following is used to enable the specific Chinese Simplified PRC Pinyin ABC input method keyboard
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\CTF\TIP\{81D4E9C9-1D3B-41BC-9E6C-4B40BF79E35E}\LanguageProfile\0x00000804\{FCA121D2-8C6D-41FB-B2DE-A2AD110D4820}]
"Enable"=dword:00000001
This location will populate with keys relative to the layout subset you toggle with the checkbox.  They can be exported and scripted to run at the end of the adm or import through GPO at login.
I couldnt find this anywhere else on the interwebs.....hopefully its helpful to someone else.

  • Screen locked with non-English keyboard layout selected

    Hello,
    I use two keyboard character sets for keyboard. The switch between them is Command-Space.
    I also have password requirement for waking up or going from screen saver.
    Now if screensaver starts with non-English layout selected, I'm not able to login:
    password is not accepted because keyboard layout is not English and switching
    to English layout does not work in unlocking window.
    Is there any way to change layout while in the unlock window?
    Thanks

    Yes you are right, this is not a bug, it's just bad user interface. Just imagine the following scenario...
    Writing a paper, switching to Greek to enter a couple of characters and leaving the mac idle for 5 mins.
    The lock screen comes up asking for a password, unfortunately the user didn't change the language
    before the mac was left idle and there is no option to change the language in the lock screen.
    User has to hard reset to access the mac and let's hope that the user was saving his paper frequenlty.
    So from a coding point of view this is not a bug, but from a user interface design it is a huge flaw

  • The text language changed on the layout selections in pages.

    I noticed there has been a language change on my pages text layout selections from English.  Any ideas if/how this can be changed back to English.

    HI Bev,
    Are you referring to documents you have created, or to the placeholder text in some of Pages' supplied templates?
    If the latter, be aware taht the placeholder text is in Latin, and is intendet to show what a block of text will look like in that template, without distracting your attention from the appearance by including any easily read meaning in that text.
    Placeholder text disappears as soon as you begin typing in its contaner—replaced by the text you type.

  • How can I use premiere pro cc in english language with german keyboard layout/german shortcuts on a mac?

    Hi,
    how is it possible to use a german keyboard with its german shortcuts on premiere pro cc in english language on a mac?
    I use all my softwares in english.
    But aside adobe I can use or change in other softwares (Avid, FCP7, FCPX) to use german keyboard shortcuts on a german logic keyboard.
    With After Effects CC I could add a german .txt to a language folder to the installed english version and tataaa:
    I could use german keyboard and the german shortcuts on an english installed AE CC.
    And in PS there is also a trick.
    But in Premiere Pro CC this language .txt doesn´t exist.
    And there are many shortcuts that differ from english to german.
    Last Job I worked on a PC with the english installed language version, and I could work with the german QWERTZ Logickeyboard
    and use the german shortcuts.
    I googled and googled and even talked to the support. But no real helpful answer.
    Maybe it was easier to do in Premiere CS6. Was it possible there?
    So how is it possible to use a german keyboard QWERTZ with german shortcuts on Premiere Pro CC in english language on a mac?
    Thanks for your help.

    MacBook Pro 2,6 GHz i7, OSX 10.9.3 english

    I'd also love to have the answer on this.
    It's really bothering. All Training material is in english and I have setup my complete system with all apps in english.
    With all the apps shortcuts work just fine, just with Premiere Pro CC it doesn't do it at all .....
    Please fix this!

  • Not work 3 keyboard layouts

    Then I use 2 languages,  Option          "XkbLayout"     "us,lt" in /etc/X11/xorg.conf, then work keyboard layout.
    If I use 3 languages in XkbLayout, then not work layout.
    There some part of /etc/X11/xorg.conf:
    Section "InputDevice"
            Identifier      "Generic Keyboard"
            Driver          "kbd"
            Option          "CoreKeyboard"
            Option          "XkbRules"      "xorg"
            Option          "XkbModel"      "pc105"
            Option          "XkbLayout"     "us,lt,ru"
            Option          "XkbOptions"    "grp:alt_shift_toggle"
    EndSection

    You didn't tell what's your problem is though. I suppose you just cannot switch layouts with Alt-Shift, right?
    Try if Shift-Alt (sic!) works for you. Also try grp:ctrl_shift_toggle (only RightCtrl-Right shift work, LeftCtrl-LeftShift switches to first layout instantly).
    alikas wrote:So it is bug?
    Yes. Both xkeyboard-config 0.6 and 0.9 are buggy, but bugs are triggered for specific keyboard layout combinations.
    For example, I had bug with 0.6 with my xorg config, while many others don't.
    0.9 fixed bug for me, but now other people have problems.
    As you may see in that bug report the problem mostly depends on XkbLayout combination, though I thought it was due to grp:alt_shift_toggle first.

  • My ipads keyboard layout is different how can i get the normal keyboard back?

    some one help me please

    There are a lot of ways that the keyboard layout could be different. You could describe what you are seeing so that we don't have to guess.
    If the keyboard is split and covering your text, Pull the two ends of the keyboard together - into the middle of the screen. You can also tap and hold down on the little keyboard icon in the lower right corner of the keyboard and select - Dock and Merge.
    If the keyboard is up on the middle of the screen, but not split, and you want to move it back to the bottom - tap and hold down on the little keyboard and icon and select - Dock
    You can turn the split keyboard off in Settings>General>Keyboard>Split Keyboard>Off.
    As Ralph explained, you may have different keyboards enabled in the settings as well. The globe key lets you switch from keyboard to keyboard.
    You may also have a different keyboard layout selected in Setrings>General>Keyboards>Your language. There are hardware and software keyboard choices in there.

  • Gnome 2.28 GDM Keyboard layout

    Hello,
    A few months ago I installed Arch + Gnome 2.26 and never had problems since then until I upgraded to Gnome 2.28. Now with the rewritten GDM the keyboard layout (for entering the username because I don't like select-your-user-from-the-list-thingies) is set to USA (qwerty) while the rest of my system is completely BE (standard, no variant) layout. Before the upgrade also GDM was 100% BE, but now the username is USA and when I want to enter the password it changes immediately to BE (because in the panel down I chose BE). Is there a way to also make the username respond to the BE layout?
    ==> What works in BE?
    TTY's
    password prompt of GDM
    gnome session
    terminals
    ==> What works not in BE and responds to USA layout?
    GDM username prompt
    How weird is that? My system is setup as described in the beginners guide (keyboard layout in 10-osvendor.fdi file + hal + evdev) which was system-wide until the update.
    I looked around and found some similar threads, but only complaining about keyboard variants, which is not my issue. Also on the Gnome forums, there is no-one with this problem. I checked all config files and XML files related to GDM I could found, but nothing helped.
    I noticed that with the Ubuntu Karmic Beta live CD, upon entering the keyboard layout from the boot screen, everything was BE as I want it to be. It proves to me it's all possible, but I can't find how.
    Any help would be appreciated!

    there is no gui but for what we need a gui for that?
    That's very interesting, thanks for the link. Sure, it's possible that way, but a few weeks ago there still was a GUI for it and now everything has to be done manually again. That sounds very much like a regression to me Anyway, that's not really the point. GDM documentation pages tell us that the system keyboard layout is used to login and that every user logging in can choose their preferred session. However, our system languages (which are different than USA) are not detected correctly and there is no option to override this in custom.conf.
    /apps/gdm/simple-greeter/recent-languages
        [] (string list)
        Set to a list of languages to be shown by default in the login window. Default value is "[]". With the default setting only the system default language is shown and the option "Other..." which pops-up a dialog box showing a full list of available languages which the user can select.
        Users are not intended to change this setting by hand. Instead GDM keeps track of any languages selected in this configuration key, and will show them in the language combo box along with the "Other..." choice. This way, commonly selected languages are easier to select.

        [] (string list)
        Set to a list of keyboard layouts to be shown by default in the login panel. Default value is "[]". Has someone the answer to the questions I asked earlier:
    1. Will I still be able to update gdm via pacman -Syu after rebuilding gdm with this patch?
    2. And will there come an official Arch GDM update with this patch to solve the problem or is the only way to get it solved dealing with the patch now?

  • Yosemite changes my keyboard layout without reason (randomly)

    Hi folks. I have a macbook pro with retina display (Late-2013) and spanish keyboard. As a matter of fact I have a Spanish-ISO keyboard layout selected by default.
    The problem is that I've recently noticed that Yosemite changes my keyboard layout to United States. When I go to input devices (in preferences) I find that a US keyboard has been added! Now I have Spanish-ISO and US as input device, but the US one is being used. So I remove the US keyboard, leaving just the Spanish one, and everything seems to work correctly again.
    The problem is that this event repeats randomly! I notice that this is happening when I need to login my session. But not everytime!
    I don't know what could be the problem!
    Any idea?

    Another way.
    Thinking that LXDE is using Openbox.
    You can use ~/.config/openbox/rc.xml
    http://openbox.org/wiki/Help:Bindings#Key_bindings
    example: using the Windows key
    <keybind key="W-u">
    <action name="Execute">
    <command>setxkbmap us<command>
    </action>
    </keybind>
    <keybind key="W-b">
    <action name="Execute">
    <command>setxkbmap bg<command>
    </action>
    </keybind>

  • HT2587 Keyboard Layout Creator. Unfortunately I do not find any layout with the word "Apple" behind it out of the list.

    I was not able to find a specific keyboard layout with the following word "Apple" in parenthesis.
    Using Keyboard Layout Creator v1.4
    Did someone else?
    Thank you.

    All those layouts should work with Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8...
    You get the parenthesis, the @ sign and other symbols exactly on the same key on OS X and Windows (see last 2 screen shots for the Swiss French layout).
    The only difference is that on Windows to "alt/option" you must either [ctrl] + [alt left] or [alt right].
    For a reminder if you want to toggle between "standard function keys" and "special features printed on each key" you can set this in "System Preferences > Keyboard" and "BootCamp Control Panel" respectively on OS X and Windows.

  • Assign Keyboard Layout to Application

    Hi all,
    Is there a way to assign a specific keyboard layout to just one application so that only this one uses it and all others still use the default layout?
    Thank you very much for any idea!

    In KDE I could set the keyboard layout to be application-specific. Is it possible to do the same with Leopard?
    No, but see if this helps:

  • How can i disable Illustrator from changing my language / keyboard layout.

    I have an azerty laptop and a qwerty external keyboard. Switching from any application to illustrator changes the language and therefore also my keyboard layout. No other application does this.

    Thanks for the reply Mike
    But i have a laptop with azerty layout (Belgian) and an external qwerty keyboard (Brittish).
    So i need both languages selected in the System Pref >> Keyboard >> Input source
    When "Brittish" is selected and i switch from Apple Mail to Photoshop to Skype to Chrome to ... it all works fine.
    Only when i switch to Illustrator it also changes my language/layout from "Brittish" to "Belgian" and stays like that. I need to manually change it back in the menu in Finder.
    I like the brittish better (with a qwerty keyboard) because of the shortcuts (eg. sqare brackets -> shortcuts for order in Illustrator are not even on an azerty (Belgian) keyboard).
    Any idea?

  • Change Keyboard Layout, But Keep Language

    I have a MacBook with USA keyboard layout.
    While installing, by mistake i selected Latin American keyboard.
    Now, i want my language to still be "Spanish/Argentina", but they keyboard layout should be USA.
    How can i do that? Note that I don't want to have many input keyboards and then have to switch between latin and english language.

    I don't see an option to change "keyboard layout" only.
    Do you really not see the Tab called Input Menu under system preferences/international? There are boxes to check for keyboard layouts, and one is called US.
    Another Tab is called Language, and there you can put Spanish (actually Español) at the top to keep your OS in Spanish.
    Another Tab, in the middle, is called Formats.
    PS If you want to type Spanish with the US layout, you can use the Option/Alt key shortcuts. A list can be found here:

  • Change Spell Check language according to keyboard selected

    Hi,
    Is there a way to have spell check automatically change its language according to which keyboard is selected from the international menulet? This would seem to be logical...

    I've been thinking about the same thing. How hard would it be to enable that?
    Just recently I finally figured out how to install and use dictionaries with cocoAspell, the ones not available under Leopard. That was a huge step forward, but now that I can, I don't want to have to keep changing between languages. I'd love the spell checker setting to have an option to follow the keyboard layout, or be able to set shortcuts for languages. Or something.
