Language iTunes store content

I have an annoying issues that is also communicated with Apple. Ticket number 310028614
I live in Switzerland and my langauge preference is english.
If I enter the movie section in iTunes I am presented with German, Italian and French movies.
The English contents is just mingled in between the other languages and don't even know if English is a film language option.
Is it possible to set a language preference in my store profile as a filter?
The location should not just determine the content. I appreciate that content availability is country specific but that should not set my personal language preferences.
Why is it that Amazon does a far better job. For every movie you buy you know what the language options are.
Does anyone know of a solution?

Yes.  Shop at a store that "does a far better job."  In fact, it sounds like you have already found one.

  • Crashed laptop, new ipod - can I get my itunes store content?

Hi, I just got a new i pod touch for my son as the old one was beyond repair (and kept by warranty repairers) His laptop has now broken and can't switch on. Is there any way to get his itunes store content via another PC. Also ,what if a repairer can get to his hard drive - can we retrieve it that way? Any suggestions appreciated as we are fighting in the dark here!

    Try here:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Not all options/content may be available if outside the USA.
Yes. Just copy the iPod media folder to the new computer if the above does not work. completely.

  • Downloading itunes store content in Turkey

Hi I'm from Turkey and trying to download "12 days of Christmas" free gifts each day. So far I can doownload music & music videos but not the tv programs or games. What content is available & unavailable in Turkey?

I agree totally with you guys.. hadn't really thought about it since my kids are still too small to use appleTV by themselves so i'm still in control, but this will likely be a problem in the near future.
i guess minimally i could accept if parental controls allowed the iTunes store content to be filtered so it only showed content based on parental control setting. This would also be good to filter out even myMovies content as well. Right now it only stops kids from playing movies, but not seeing the movies artwork. i have some horror movies that i really don't want my kids looking at the covers for as well.
Turning the iTunes store off totally would be idea for an appleTV that will be used by kids.

  • Itunes store content not appearing in itunes

When I click on the iTunes Store button, nothing appears in the window.  I can get to my account information, but I cannot get to any content in the iTunes store.

    Hey jorox_jorox,
The first thing I'd start off with is going through the steps in the following document:

  • Non-iTunes Store Content: Parental Controls

I'm trying to figure out how to use iTunes parental controls on content that I did not download from the iTunes Store. The contents contains both songs and videos that I downloaded from another site and ripped from CDs.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry, but Parental Controls won't work with material you import from CD or another source, only with the iTunes Store. The solution to Parental Controls for other material is for you, the parent, to control what you put in iTunes for any user account to which your kids have access. The best route would be to set up an account in Mac OS X just for your kids, and only put into that account's iTunes those tracks you wish your kids to listen to.

All contents are converted to be iTunes friendly (m4v). They also play properly on my iPhone 4 and iPad. How can I watch these videos on my HDTV wirelessely, will it work on AppleTV? Again, all videos were downloaded and converted to m4v and were not purchased from the iTunes Store.

  • ATV not Authorizing iTunes Store content

I purchased a movie from iTunes store but when I try to play it through the ATV it says that this ATV is not Authorized to play it. I can watch it on the iMac and I have deauthorized and reauthorized the computer. Can anyone help?
    Tks

I have the same problem. I rented a movie a few days ago and transfered it to my Apple TV. When I attempt to view the movie I get an error. I transfered the movie back to my Macbook and was able to start watching it--however when I push it back to the Apple TV I cannot watch the movie. I confirmed my Apple TV has access to the Internet because I was able to watch previews of other movies on it. Moreover, I tried reseting my router, computer, Apple TV, etc. to no avail. I have this same problem with two other movies I rented.

  • Transfering NON-iTunes-Store Content from Nano 5th TO iTunes 9.2

Laptop was stolen, trying to transfer ALL my music from my iPod 5th generation back into iTunes on my new laptop. Used this GREAT article... but nothing happened. Might be outdated info?

    Help! Thank you!

If you're referring to the first part, covering "Transfer Purchases from iPod", that only applies to items purchased from the iTunes Store. It will not work with music you imported from CD or obtained elsewhere and put on your iPod.
Check out this post from Zevoneer for some iPod media recovery options:

  • Who to contact at Apple about iTunes Store content?

This isn't Mac-specific but I can't find anywhere else to ask this question. Long story short, a very good friend of mine has an album on the iTunes Store. It's an album he recorded, produced, and published on his own label. Problem is, he never submitted it for inclusion in the iTunes Store and has no idea who did, who's getting the money from it, etc. Hope someone here can provide a phone number or link to information about a real, live contact at Apple who can deal with this ASAP.
    FWIW, here's a link to the album: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=156675637&s=14344 1
(It's a great album, but please don't buy any of the tracks since someone else is profiting from Ben's hard work.)
    Thanks a ton,
    Brent

Ben should probably talk (or have his lawyer talk) to his record company, Aquarium/No Alternative. They seem to have many of their artists on the iTunes Music Store, so it's almost certainly the label or one of their partners that submitted Ben's album and are getting the money.

  • ITunes Store Content

I was wondering if anyone knows when iTunes might start carrying shows from the OWN network

Unless they announce, there is no way to know.

  • Cant access purchased movies from itunes store

Hi I have a macbook 10.6.8 and iphone 4. movies I have previously bought in itunes appear on my phone but not in itunes -ive tried to transfer purchased to macbook but keep getting 'itunes temporarily unavailable' despite the fact that Im signed in at time. Im using same id etc as when purchased and have checked my account. im trying to transfer to macbook so that i can sync on to ipad. Searched help topics but no use -i've been trying for several days

It may not be the "file type," but the resolution, if the downloaded movies are "HD."  The tech specs for the 4th gen iPod touch
    http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/specs.html
states the video playback capabilities for the 4th gen iPod touch, where is says TV and Video.  It sounds like 720p (1280x720) is sometimes supported, but not always, and I believe some iTunes Store content is now 1080p.  If you do a Get Info in iTunes on the movies, you should get details about resolution and file type.
However, in any case, for the small size of an iPod touch screen, if the movies you downloaded are "HD" (720p or higher), you should probably download the SD (standard def) version for use with your iPod touch.  The SD version also takes up less than half the storage space of the HD version, and probably uses less battery power when played (because the iPod's processor does not need to work as hard).
I believe you are entitled to download the SD version at no additional cost, if you paid for the HD version.  You should be able to do it from the Purchased screen in the iTunes Store.

  • My iPad keeps refusing to connect to my pc network. can't download from iTunes store.

mi iPad keeps refusing to connect to my pc/wifi network. can't download anything from iTunes, even just using it on my iPad.  even if I plug my iPad into my pc.  anyone know how to fix this?  please help!  thanks!

How about some details on your network?
What make/model router are you using?
Does your router have the latest firmware from the manufacturer?
What security type (WEP, WPA, WPA2) are you using?
What happens when you try to connect?
Does your iPad work on other networks, i.e., Borders, Starbucks, etc.?
As a stopgap it is possible to download iTunes store content from the iTunes program on your PC and sync that to your iPad (music, apps, videos, etc).
