I am using HPPavillion G6-1b79us Laptop.My screen is damaged at the corner.I brought it in US.Currently i am in germany for my studies.please let me know prices for the same and where to get in Germany

Running recovery when laptop display broken

computer needs a recovery run and set back to factory settings. the problem is that the display on the mini notebook is broken and we are running on a monitor. We can activate the recovery process from windows but once it restarts and is doing the recovery (i assume) it does not return to the monitor it attempts to display on the broken mounted display. I cannot access bios because during startup it again uses only the mounted display and does not utilize the monitor we have connected. Is there someway to access the recovery program within the windows environment. Is there someway to have the mini laptop use the monitor instead of built in display without going into bios. Again I cannot access bios since the mini laptop does not utilize the monitor until windows is started. Would like to return windows to factory settings but cannot see the recovery program since it runs outside of windows. Mini laptop only uses externl monitor while in windows, so accessing bios is impossible and accessing recovery program impossible.
How do I make mini utitlize external monitor instead of mounted (broken) display as primary so that startup process is visible and perhaps I can access bios or run recoverey successfully?

I grasp that you are having an issue with trying to do a recovery with an external monitor. When using the external monitor the bios screen may not be visible but you should be able to just let the recovery complete.
You can do a recovery from within Windows.
Here is a link to HP PCs - Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 7) as a guide. There is a video within the docment for you to view.
During the process there is an opportunity to backup your personal files to prevent data loss. If you have not already done one, now is a good time.

Laptop display Broken

Hello all,
I am using HP Pavilion g6-1b70us for past 3 years .Today unfornately i have broken the display accidently.
Please help me in replacement and hoe much it cost and where to buy.
Is that possible that i can use the latop with the broken display for some time.As its roken only in the corner.

Yes the broken display can be used with the cracks as long as you are very careful. The crack will get worse all by itself and will get worse faster with handling. You might get a couple more months or even a year out of it before the crack gets so bad you can't see enough to work with.

I also saw a lot of "Grade B" screens on eBay for $40. These would be used with a minor flaw or 2.

ADP Warranty - Laptop display broken 2nd time - does warranty cover

My Laptop is 4 months old and the Display was damaged a 20 days ago and it was replaced. But now again my son pushed it down and the display is broke for the 2nd time again.My question is will the laptop cover under the ADP even its for the 2nd time. pls help.

Well the best people to answer this question is the Hp Tech Support.. The policy may change depending on the region you live. call them and let them know that the laptop is damaged again and if they will repair it for you.. they should be able to help you.

Is the media already on the iPad? If not, iTunes purchases can be redownloaded if they are still available in iTunes. Non-iTunes purchases would need to be synced from iTunes on a computer.

The right way is to restore the backup that you should have kept of your broken laptop before it was broken to your new PC.

Sync is only oneway, from PC to your device. Unless you have the music on your PC, iTunes is going to wipe out what you have on your device if you are syncing to a new library.
You can only transfer Purchased music over to Itunes on your PC.

As for you own music, you may have to use a third party software to copy over. A good Free one is called Sharepod which you can download from Download.com here:

If you have home sharing turned on in the settings of your apple tv and your iPad you can AirPlay from your iPad to the apple tv. When you play a video there is a tv icon on the right side of the play/pause/fwd/rwd icons. Click that and choose your apple tv. Your apple tv and iPad must be on the same network.

That is not necessarily true. You are allowed to make a back-up of media you own and, at least in the Netherlands, even a copy of a work you've borrowed from a library. The law expressly permits this and you pay a certain amount for recordable media to allow for home use. See http://www.thuiskopie.nl/nl for this. If you then decide to destroy the media, i.e. do not transfer the media to someone else, I don't see how you infringe copyright by keeping the back-up. But I guess some so-called creatives like the idea of making money in all kinds of hypothetical ways...
It is a nice dream, where you have to work once and then earn a lot of money by selling millions of copies from your work. But buyers can make copies too!! Hahahahahaha!

Laptop display won't sleep

I just upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.8, and I’m almost completely satisfied except for one last thing: I play a MMORPG that runs in full-screen mode, and when I was running 10.3.9, the display eventually became dim and shut down after several minutes in accordance with my preferences in Energy Saver. This is not happening in 10.4.8. What do I do? I jiggered my screensaver and display-sleep times, but this hasn’t worked. Thanks very much. Peace.
PS, how do I get file sizes to display when I do a search in the upper right-hand corner of a finder window like I used to?

I meant to say, there are times that one leaves the game running while one leaves the computer for hours at a time, and the display eventually dimmed and went to sleep while the game was running in full-screen mode. I have a MacBook Pro 15" 2.53GHz Mid2009.. updated to Lion which is now 10.7.3 build 11D50b... when I close lid and connect to Cinema Display, display will not activate... disconnect display, open lid laptop display will not activate... used to work fine.

Before I installed Lion I simply hit any key on the keyboard or clicked the mouse...
The keyboard is USB (usually connected to monitor which is connected to laptop... have tried direct connect to laptop as well with no luck) and mouse is USB wireless to one of those tiny plug in's... have tried direct connect USb mouse as well with no luck.
I could plug the closed/sleeping laptop into the monitor and unplug from the monitor without incident all day/night... always worked fine.
Had heard something about this happening w/ Lion but went ahead anyway.
Oh well...

*HELP* laptop displaying "Preparing Automatic Repair"?? Don't know how to fix it??

I've had my laptop for less than 12 months. It was being slow so I decided to turn it off and back on again. When I did this, the laptop displayed 'Preparing automatic Repair' then the screen goes black.
I don't know how to go about resolving this issue.
If anyone can help me in any way, I would be more than grateful.

Attaching external monitor resets laptop display scale

Sometimes when I connect my Thunderbolt monitor to my Macbook the laptop display resets back to no scaling. This ***** because I then have to change it back and fix all my windows. This happens maybe 15% of the time; it's happened many times now.
I've also had one case where on restart the laptop reset the scale. It was not connected to the external monitor when that happened.
Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?

I see that you wanted to know if there was a way to hook your Spectre X360 up to an External Monitor and be able to close the lid to your Notebook without it going to sleep. I did some research on this for you also. In Power Options, Choose what closing the lid does, you should have an option that says "Do nothing". Set it to "Do Nothing". Here is a video for you this video explains how to change the Power Option settings to "Do Nothing". If you do not see this option, please do all of your driver updates either with the HP Driver's website for your specific Spectre X36 Notebook, or you can do them using the HP Support Assistant. You can change the Power Settings when on battery and when plugged in directly. You could change the settings when you do not have an external monitor plugged in to sleep when the lid is closed. How to revert back from external display mode to laptop display mode?

Hi, I'm new to this community. I'm not sure if this is where I should be posting my questions. Anyway, I accidentally pressed fn + f2, which switched my laptop into external display mode (I'm pretty sure), and the screen is now very narrow and small. I can't figure out how to switch it back to the laptop display mode. I tried fn + f3, which didn't do anything. I also tried the windows button + p, which wasn't the solution either (I was able to extend my desktop screen, but when I play my Steam games the screen is still very narrow and small). I'm very frustrated because I can't find any answers online. So any information would likely be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Fn + F2 is a toggle. You press it again to switch back. If it doesn't work, then something is wrong with your notebook's SCM (system control manager) software or EC (embedded controller) firmware.
In the future, please do two things:
1 - Identify your notebook because the answer may vary depending on model.
2 - This question does not relate to the SteelSeries Engine. The correct place to ask it would be the general "Gaming Notebooks" forum if your MSI notebook is a gaming model. This "SteelSeries Engine" forum is a sub-forum under the "Gaming Notebooks" forum for the purpose of dealing with questions about it---but almost everybody new misses that. The SteelSeries Engine is used to configure keyboard macros and backlighting in MSI gaming notebooks that contain a SteelSeries keyboard as well as accessory devices from SteelSeries like gaming mice and USB headsets.
