LDAP Error 50 configuring OC4J in 9ias Rel 2
Hello everybody,
I'm trying to install 9ias Rel 2 on a Windows 200 Server machine.
Unfortunatly after 3 tries i'm continuing receiving the following error during the OC4J configuration step in a Business Intelligence Installation type ( i want to say first that all the Infrastructure installation and configuration was successfully executed and that i stopped the EM before starting the OAS installation to avoid to have conflict with the dcmctl tool):
The configuration files for this Oracle9iAS instance are inconsistent with the
configuration stored in the repository. In order to protect the repository,
no further configuration or deployment operations are allowed until the problem with the configuration on the filesystem is resolved. This condition arises when a prior operation was unsuccessful. Please check the logs located at
ORACLE_HOME/dcm/logs to determine why DCM was unsuccessful in updating
the configuration files on disk. Some possible causes are:
- permissions on files
- file contention issues on Windows NT
- EMD and dcmctl running concurrently
- internal Oracle error
After resolving the problem that prevented DCM from updating the configuration
files, you may use the dcmctl resyncInstance command to resolve the problem.
Alternatively, you can stop and then restart the active dcmctl or EMD
process and resyncInstance will automatically be performed.
The dcm.log says:
[ RM ] Exception in repository API getDBConnect()

I have tried 3 times (everytime after deinstalling and cleaning the machine), and got the same error.
Can anyone help me? It's really urgent and i spent a lot of time without solving it yet.
Thanx in advance
I have had the same problem getting any dates from Oracle as well but after talking to Oracle and bugging them about it here is the response I received:
Sun Solaris before May 31
MS Windows - Solaris date + 8 weeks
Red Hat 7.1 - Solaris date + 1 week
SuSe SLES7 - Solaris date + 1 day
True64 - Solaris date + 4 weeks
I don't know how reliable these dates are but I thought I would pass on what I have been told, since some information is better than none.

Error configuring BI Publisher 10.1.3.3.2 with OID LDAP Security Config
I have installed BI Publisher Enterprise Standalone version 10.1.3.3.2 and am able to successfully log in as Administrator. I need to integrate BI Publisher with LDAP. I accessed the Security Configuration section and updated the LDAP information and set up the required XMLP_* groups in OID and assigned them to OID users as instructed in the BI Publisher users document, however the LDAP connection does not appear to be working. When I log in as a user that has been assigned to the XMLP_ADMIN or users that have been assigned to one of the other XMLP_* groups I get an error message:

I am disappointed that I have received no responses to this issue either on the forum or on my SR with Support. If I need to provide more detailed information in order to get assistance please let me know. Our project is at a standstill until this issue is corrected so I really need some assistance in finding a solution.

user571286Thank you SO MUCH, Dave! I had entered cn=orcladmin in the Security Configuration screen and did not notice that it was saved to the xmlp-server-config.xml as orcladmin... I manually editted the xmlp-server-config.xml file to cn=orcladmin and it appears to be working now!
Why is the entry not saving correctly from the Security Configuration screen? Is this a bug?
Thanks again, Dawna. -

Good day to all.
Its my first time to install Oracle 11g on my Windows 7 computer.
After i installed and configured the database, i get this following error , so i can't go through the Enterprise Manager.
Enterprise Manager Configuration failed due to the following error - Error instantiating OC4J Configuration files
So i checked the emConfig.log for error details, and i found out that i have some several files missing, in which i checked the folder also.
I don't know why these files are missing.

LDAP: error code 48 - Server is Configured to Deny Anonymous Binds
Is it possible to authenticate user from java code when Anonymous binds in Oracle Internet Directory is disabled? I have been trying to make direct LDAP calls for authentication but it gives me error as below:
javax.naming.AuthenticationNotSupportedException: [LDAP: error code 48 - Server is Configured to Deny Anonymous Binds];
Appreciate help from fellow members.
Thanks,
ShivamYou create a user entry in OID specifically to be used by your java application. Some folks refer to this type of user entry as a proxy or service or utility account. You may not want this service account to be located in your cn=users,dc=acme,dc=com container with the reset of your normal user entries. You may want to create a cn=serviceAccount,dc=acme,dc=com container (as an example) for all of these types of accounts. Or you can put it in your cn=users container, that's fine as well.
cn=java-app-01,cn=serviceAccount,dc=acme,dc=com
or
cn=java-app-01,cn=users,dc=acme,dc=com
Then your java app gets configured to use this account to perform an authenticated bind/search (in lieu of the anonymous bind/search) to find the full DN of the user logging into your java app. Most ldap enabled applications ask the user to provide only the common name (cn) or unixID (uid) and password at the application login prompt.
1. The app then performs an anonymous bind/search for the full user entry DN of the user attempting to authenticate into the application.
or
2. The app then performs an authenticated bind/search (using the service account) for the full user entry DN of the user attempting to authenticate into the application.
...once the app receives back the full user entry DN, the app takes that full DN (dn: cn=gatesb,cn=users,dc=acme,dc=com) and the password provided by the user and attempts the user authentication.
Hope this helps..... -

RamHi,
Seems you have not extracted downloaded zip files into same directory. In that case you get error like
java.io.FileNotFoundException:
/Disk2/database/stage/Components/oracle.rsf.hybrid/11.1.0.6.0/1/DataFiles/filegroup12.jar (A file or directory in the path name does not exist.)
java.io.FileNotFoundException:
/Disk2/database/stage/Components/oracle.rsf.hybrid/11.1.0.6.0/1/DataFiles/filegroup5.jar (A file or directory in the path name does not exist.)
Also after installation dbca will throw error.
Try the below
For AIX platform:
unzip in the same folder
$ mkdir 1120
$ mv aix.ppc64_11g_database_1of2.zip 1120
$ mv aix.ppc64_11g_database_2of2.zip 1120
$ cd 1120
$ unzip aix.ppc64_11g_database_1of2.zip
$ unzip aix.ppc64_11g_database_2of2.zip
$ cd database
$ ./runInstaller
This is true for all platforms on which you get two .zip files to download
For Windows 64 bit example on 11.2.0.1 you can do the following :
- create a directory C:\tmp\1120
- copy winx64_11g_database_1of2.zip and winx64_11g_database_2of2.zip under C:\tmp\1120
- unzip winx64_11g_database_1of2.zip and winx64_11g_database_2of2.zipunder C:\tmp\1120

Regards,
Ravi.Your log files too give some hint... Please verify whether following files like .xldatabasekey are present in your environment:-
OIM application intialization failed because of the following reasons:
oim-config.xml was not found in MDS Repository.
Unable to find keystore ".xldatabasekey" in <DOMAIN_HOME>/config/fmwconfig/.
Password for OIMSchemaPassword is not seeded in CSF.
Password for xell is not seeded in CSF.
Password for DataBaseKey is not seeded in CSF.
Password for JMSKey is not seeded in CSF.
Password for .xldatabasekey is not seeded in CSF.
Password for default-keystore.jks is not seeded in CSF.
Password for SOAAdminPassword is not seeded in CSF.
I doubt whether OIM is properly installed in your environment otherwise .xldatabasekey would have been present in <DOMAIN_HOME>/config/fmwconfig..
Also, as far as Weblogic starting in ADMIN mode is concerned, you may try to do the following...
ps -eaf| grep AdminServer
Kill the process
Then remove the lok file. i.e. Lock files...
rm -rf /home/oracle/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/oimdomain/servers/oim_server1/tmp/*oim_server1.lok*
rm -rf /home/oracle/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/oimdomain/servers/soa_server1/tmp/*soa_server1.lok*
rm -rf /home/oracle/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/oimdomain/servers/AdminServer/tmp/*AdminServer.lok*
After that
Take the backup of /home/oracle/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/<DOMAIN_HOME>/servers/AdminServer/data/ldap/ldapfiles (I mean CUT this folder and save it in Backup folder..
Share the result with us.... -
Open LDAP Authenticator Configuration on WLSSP5
I have problems in the open LDAP authenticator configuration on Weblogic Server with Service Pack 5. I have users on OpenLDAP Server that do not belong to any group. My LDIF file contents are as given below.
dn: dc=my-domain,dc=com
dc: my-domain
objectClass: dcObject
objectClass: organization
o: MYABC, Inc
dn: cn=Manager, dc=my-domain,dc=com

objectClass: person
sn: Philippe
cn: Philippe
dn: cn=mlrick, dc=my-domain,dc=com
userPassword:: bWxyaWNr
objectClass: person
sn: mlrick
cn: mlrick
All these users appear in the Users tab after configuration on the console only if LDAP Server is up. While I select group tab, I get errors indicating BAD SEARCH Filter.
Inspite of me not having any groups in the ldap as indicated in ldif contents.
While I try to login t the application with this LDAP configuration, I do not get any errors. LDAP authentication is not happening with just the LDAP authenticator in place. Even if I stop the LDAP server, I do nto get any exceptions while trying ot login. The config params for the Open LADP are as given below

CAN ANYONE HELP ME IDENTIFY WHAT IS THE ISSUE. Why is the authentication not happening?Hi Amol,
I've seen this happen at least two times in 11.1.1.1 installs. You can safely restart and then add the service back again. Suggest you reboot after you re-add the service back or cycle all the Hyperion services.
I was not aware you could install the service with that command.
I used the below command instead:
sc create OpenLDAP-slapd start= auto binPath= "D:\Hyperion\...\slapd.exe service" DisplayName= "Hyperion Shared Services OpenLAP"

Please advise me on how to resolve this issue..
ThanksBEA-171500
Error: The embedded LDAP Configuration file: fileName was not found and the embedded LDAP server has not been started. To resolve the problem, ensure that weblogic.home is defined correctly (it should have a lib subdirectory that contains this file).
Description
The lib directory contains the configuration files required for the embedded LDAP server. If those files are missing or the appropriate directory cannot be found, then the embedded LDAP server cannot initialize.
Cause
The embedded LDAP server cannot find the specified file. This file is installed as part of the installation process. Most likely, the default directory is not the server root directory and the lib subdirectory cannot be found.
Action
Set the default directory to the server root directory or set the location of the embedded LDAP server configuration files via the weblogic.EmbeddedLDAPConfigDirectory system property.
As suggested in the Action plan for error code 171500,try setting up EmbeddedLDAPConfigDirectory system property in the server start-up script or in setDomainEnv.sh script.
You can set the same as JAVA_OPTIONS in the script.
e.g.
JAVA_OPTIONS="-Dweblogic.EmbeddedLDAPConfigDirectory=/home/mwhome1/wlserver_10.3/server/lib ${JAVA_OPTIONS}"
export JAVA_OPTIONS
Hope this helps!!
Thanks,

DPS7: LDAP error code 52
env: DPS7 on RH5. we are running into many types of connection issues...the following 3 are frequent..
1. LDAP: error code 52 - Unable to read BIND response from server
2. LDAP: error code 52 - Unable to read SEARCH response from backend server : Connection reset by peer
3. LDAP: error code 52 - Unable to read SEARCH response from backend server : Timeout when waiting to read from input stream
Appreciate someone helping me understand under what circumstances the above errors occur and what needs to be tweaked to limit them.
Also, is there a way to configure DPS not to use connection pools and instead open fresh connections for each client operation. Why would I do that. I believe DPS needs a lot of timeout and monitoring times tweaking to make sure that the connections in the pool are monitored properly and kept active. Any suggestions here.Hi,
Looks like the connections between DPS and DS are invalid. This gives rise to a great variety of error message depending on when the error is detected (read, write, timeout etc).
In most cases, this is related to aggressive idle-timeout set on the DS side or HW LB that impacts DPS connection pooling.
The dpconf property "monitoring-inactivity-timeout" , defaulted to 120s may be used to keep pooled connection alive.
Hope this helps
