Ldap/jboss/struts

Hello,
I am using Struts Menus, which print out menu and menu items based on user's roles, retrieved by request.UserInRole(). I am using Jboss as my app server and I am using LDAPModule for Security but I can't seem to get it to work. I get a j_security_check not found at log in.
What I have done so far is
1. Modified the login-config.xml (in server/default/conf) to add
<application-policy name="security">
<login-module code="org.jboss.security.auth.spi.LdapLoginModule" flag="required">
... all optional LDAP attributes...
</login-module>
2. Added the following line in jboss-web
<jboss-web>
<security-domain>java:/jaas/security</security-domain>
</jboss-web.xml>
Am I missing something else?
Thanks again!

IDocument myDoc = new Document2004();

Hi john,
these are my Backing bean and action now at the run time when I am pressing a button which has to invoke cb3_action() method.
When I am clicking the button at the runtime I am getting the below error

jar files. xstream-1.3.1.jar , java2word-3.0_2011Aug02.jar , log4j-1.2.15.jar .
these are the jar files I found in net using which I can create a word file and add all the components like table and format the txt etc..
These jar files works in Tomcat, Jboss ,Struts
I can even run this class and got the file created.
But when I try to bind the method in ADF i am getting the error mentioned above.
Kindly help me on this. Sorry for posting similar question two times on the blog.
Sorry again if this question is wierd.

Hi,
Goto Project Properties:
Search for the following in left pane:
Oracle Applications -> Runtime Connection
DBC file : Choose the correct dbc file from your local machine. You have to get it from your dba and paste it in this path: jdevhome\jdev\dbc_files\secure\*.dbc
User Name: Application User Name
Password : Application password
Responsibilty Key:
Goto Application Developer --> Responsibility --> Define -- >
Query for the available responsibility for the given user. Say for example: "Order Management Super User"
Application: Order Management
Responsibilty Key: ORDER_MGMT_SUPER_USER
Application Short Name:
Goto Application Developer --> Application --> Register -- >
Query for the given application " Order Management"
Short Name: ONT
Responsibility Key and Application Short Name depends upon the object you are developing.

• Struts message-resource problems in jboss

Hi,
I'm fairly new to jsp/servlets and I'm trying to use the struts framework.
I have a html file with the struts bean taglib defined and the following line :
<bean:message key="index.title" />
In struts-config.xml I have the following :
<message-resources parameter="MyAppResources" />
And I put MyAppResources.properties in WEB-INF/classes
I then add the files to myapp.war and deploy it in jboss, but when I try to load the page I get the following exception :
javax.servlet.ServletException: Cannot find message resources under key org.apache.struts.action.MESSAGE
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

and if, after deploying, you delete the war file? Does it work then?
Problem seems to be that in a war file the directories arent as the class loader expects them, I think.

• Struts in JBoss App Server

Hi,
I am new to J2EE projects though I am in Core Java for years. I want to install and use Struts 1.2 and JBoss 3.2.7 for my web based application which is going to be in JSP, Servlets, HTML. I want to use JBoss 3.2.7 as a web server for this project, because some other EJB modules will also use this JBoss server. Can I have some links for how to setup Struts and JBoss and use it in Eclipse IDE for a web based application. Thanks in advance.
Regds,
Bh_t_76

You do not need to set-up JBoss any differently than normal. Check out struts.apache.org. They have a series of howto's and faq's. You only have to configure a Servlet at the outset, so there should be no difference between Tomcat and JBoss.
As for integrating the Eclipse IDE, I would go to their site www.eclipse.org and see if there is a plug-in.

• LC + ActiveDirectory + LDAP over SSL = doesn't work

Hi,
I installed Active Directory Certificate Services. Now I want setup LDAP over SSL. Unfortunatelly it doesn't work. I pressed "Test" and always get "Invalid username or invalid password" (
German: "Ungültiger Benutzername oder ungültiges Kennwort"). I'm pretty sure username and password are fine (it worked before I installed Active Directory Certificate Services and used LDAP without SSL).

// Dynamically set the property that JSSE uses to identify

• J2EE Struts - Database connection failed - help???:(

Hello,
I have built a little web application and it works without any problems. In the next step I tried to add a database connection but I have already worked on it for at least one day and I could not fix the problem with the database connection.
I downloaded the MySQL Server 5.0 and installed it, furthermore I have downloaded the jdbc driver mysql-connector-java-3.1.11.zip and extracted it to the MySQL Server 5.0 directory. Furthermore I have added under system settings - system - etended - system variables the whole path to the driver -> C:\Programme\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\mysql-connector-java-3.1.11\mysql-connector-java-3.1.11-bin.jar to the CLASSPATH systemvariable.
Then I have startet the SQL Server 5.0 with mysqld --console from the command line.
Furthermore I have added under Project-Properties-Java Build Path - Libraries - Add External JARs in Eclipse the mysql-connector-java-3.1.11-bin.jar to my Struts WebProject.
To test the whole thing I have added to the existing test-database from mysql a table named owner and wanted to test the database connection in the Action-class with the following statements - I quote the whole execute method of the OwnerAction class:
public ActionForward execute(
ActionMapping mapping,
ActionForm form,
HttpServletRequest request,
HttpServletResponse response)
throws Exception {
OwnerForm ownerForm = (OwnerForm) form;
String greet = ownerForm.getGreet();
String name = ownerForm.getName();
request.setAttribute("name", name);
request.setAttribute("greet", greet);
String address = ownerForm.getAddress();
String email = ownerForm.getEmail();
int tel = ownerForm.getTel();
Connection conn = null;
Statement stmt = null;
ResultSet rs = null;
DriverManager.registerDriver(new org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver());
conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/test","root","sa");
try {
//conn = dataSource.getConnection();
stmt = conn.createStatement();
int id = 0;
rs = stmt.executeQuery("select max(id) as counter from owner");
while(rs.next()){
id = rs.getInt("counter");
id += 1;
stmt.executeUpdate("insert into owner values("+id+", '"+greet+"', '"+name+"', '"+email+"', '"+address+"', "+tel+")");
rs.close();
stmt.close();
conn.close();
catch(SQLException e){
throw new SQLException("database error");
// Forward control to the specified success target
return (mapping.findForward("success"));
}But when I execute the WebApplication and the Action will be called the following error message appears in the browser:
HTTP Status 500 -

• Problems using JAAS with EJB 3.0 on JBoss 4.0.4-GA

Hello all,
I am trying to build a very simple JavaEE application with JAAS, but I getting mad.
I have an EAR packed with a WAR module an EJB JAR module and a JAR with other classes. Struts is the MVC framework and EJB 3.0 is been used.
First of all, I configured the "login-config.xml" file within /conf directory in JBoss, like this:
<application-policy name="exemplo1">
<authentication>
<login-module code="org.jboss.security.auth.spi.DatabaseServerLoginModule" flag="required">
<module-option name="dsJndiName">java:jdbc/Infra_Seguranca</module-option>
<module-option name="principalsQuery">SELECT COD_USUARIO AS Password FROM USUARIO WHERE COD_USUARIO=?</module-option>
<module-option name="rolesQuery">SELECT NOME_ROLE AS Roles, 'Roles' AS RoleGroups FROM ROLE_USUARIO WHERE COD_USUARIO=?</module-option>
</login-module>
</authentication>
</application-policy>Next I configured the "web.xml" file like this:
<security-constraint>
<web-resource-collection>
<web-resource-name>Restricted</web-resource-name>

Declarative security tests

<url-pattern>*.do</url-pattern>
</web-resource-collection>
<auth-constraint>
<role-name>xxx</role-name>
</auth-constraint>
<user-data-constraint>

no description

<transport-guarantee>NONE</transport-guarantee>
</user-data-constraint>
</security-constraint>
<login-config>
<auth-method>FORM</auth-method>
<realm-name>exemplo1</realm-name>
<form-login-config>
<form-login-page>/login.jsp</form-login-page>
<form-error-page>/loginErro.jsp</form-error-page>
</form-login-config>
</login-config>
<security-role>

Role xxx

<role-name>xxx</role-name>
</security-role>Notice that I am using the "xxx" role to protect the "*.do" URL pattern.
The "jboss-web.xml" is like this:

<jboss-web>
<security-domain>java:/jaas/exemplo1</security-domain>
</jboss-web>As it is, it works perfectly, which means, every time I try to access a "*.do" URL it verifies whether I am authenticated and have authroization or not. If not, the login page shows up.
Now I wanna to be able to also protect my EJBs.
My Stateless Session Bean is implemented as follow:
@RolesAllowed("yyy")
@Stateless(name="UserManagement")
public class UserManagementBean implements UserManagement {
public void add(User user) {
}When I run all this, the container simply igoners the @RolesAllowed("yyy") annotation and allow the EJB execution.
If I add the "jboss.xml" file, like this:

<jboss>
<security-domain>java:/jaas/exemplo1</security-domain>
</jboss>I start getting this stack trace:
ERROR [UsersRolesLoginModule] Failed to load users/passwords/role files
java.io.IOException: No properties file: users.properties or defaults: defaultUsers.properties found
at org.jboss.security.auth.spi.Util.loadProperties(Util.java:313)
at org.jboss.security.auth.spi.UsersRolesLoginModule.loadUsers(UsersRolesLoginModule.java:186)
at org.jboss.security.auth.spi.UsersRolesLoginModule.createUsers(UsersRolesLoginModule.java:200)
at org.jboss.security.auth.spi.UsersRolesLoginModule.initialize(UsersRolesLoginModule.java:127)
at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method)
... Am I missing something? What do I have to do to get JAAS working fine with my EJBs? Do I have to also configure and/or provide "ejb-jar.xml" ???
Thanks
Daniel

Using @SecurityDomain("exemplo1") in my EJB and NOT providing jboss.xml, it works.
@SecurityDomain("exemplo1")
@RolesAllowed("yyy")
@Stateless(name="UserManagement")
public class UserManagementBean implements UserManagement {
public void add(User user) {
}Damn! This is some serious shit... I dont want to configure this in every single EJB.
EJB 3.0 is nice, but some small trivial details like this and others, that was forgotten by Sun, piss me off!

• How to change SSO user's password: Get LDAP URL

Hi,
I would like to add a 'change user SSO password' form to my BC4J application. The form's submit button fires an action that calls a PL/SQL package. This package receives 7 parameters, and uses de dbms_ldap package to change the user's password.
Parameters:
- LDAP Host
- LDAP Port
- User DN
- SSO Username
- Old Password
- New Password
- Retyped New Password (for confirmation)
I'm trying with a DataForwardAction event whose purpose is to get the user's account information and the LDAP location, but I can't get the LDAP Location (ClassCastException) and the SSOUsername (NullPointerException).
I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.2.0.0 (Build 1811)
My question is: ¿What am I doing wrong? ¿Is there any easier way to do this?
The code is below:
import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest;
import oracle.adf.controller.struts.actions.DataActionContext;
import oracle.adf.controller.struts.actions.DataForwardAction;
import oracle.security.jazn.JAZNConfig;
import oracle.security.jazn.spi.ldap.LDAPJAZNProvider;
public class ChgPwdAction extends DataForwardAction
public void onChange(DataActionContext ctx) throws Exception
HttpServletRequest request = ctx.getHttpServletRequest();
String host                = null;
String port                = null;
String userDN              = null;
String SSOUsername         = null;
String oldPwd              = null;
String newPwd              = null;
String confirmNewPwd       = null;
try
LDAPJAZNProvider ldapProvider = (LDAPJAZNProvider)JAZNConfig.getJAZNConfig().getJAZNProvider();
host = ldapProvider.getJAZNConfig().getLocationURL().getHost();
port = "" + ldapProvider.getJAZNConfig().getLocationURL().getPort();
catch (ClassCastException e)
//System.out.println(e);
throw new Exception("Missing LDAP location");
try
userDN = request.getHeader("Osso-User-Dn");
catch (NullPointerException e)
//System.out.println(e);
throw new Exception("Missing User DN.");
SSOUsername   = request.getRemoteUser();
oldPwd        = (String)request.getParameter("oldPwd");
newPwd        = (String)request.getParameter("newPwd");
confirmNewPwd = (String)request.getParameter("confirmNewPwd");
request.setAttribute("Host", host);
request.setAttribute("Port", port);
request.setAttribute("UserDN", userDN);
request.setAttribute("SSOUsername", SSOUsername);
request.setAttribute("OldPwd", (String)ctx.getHttpServletRequest().getParameter("oldPwd"));
request.setAttribute("NewPwd", (String)ctx.getHttpServletRequest().getParameter("newPwd"));
request.setAttribute("ConfirmNewPwd", (String)ctx.getHttpServletRequest().getParameter("confirmNewPwd"));
//System.out.println (userDN + "-" + SSOUsername);
// To override a method of the lifecycle, go to
// the main menu "Tools/Override Methods...".
}Thanks in advance.

Hi again,
First of all, thanks for your reply.
Yes, I know I can use JNDI instead of a call to a PL/SQL package (I visited this link: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=592611&start=0 that explains how to do it), but in both cases I have the same problem: I don't know if it's possible to get the LDAP's environment specifications (PROVIDER_URL, SECURITY_PROTOCOL) dynamically.
Our production environment's LDAP is not the same as our development environment's LDAP. This is why I want to get this information dynamically.
I think that this information is stored in the jazn.xml file: Is there any way to get this information?
Thanks a lot.

• Problem logging on to the managed RAS using JBoss Seam

The app I am currently working on is using JBoss Seam. The sample jsp files you guys created were excellent. As a simple test I first tried to logon and export a report thru a different app using JSP and Tomcat and had no problems. I then copied the same code to my Seam application. I placed the logon and export report code into an Action class. I had to place the crystal jars into the seam/lib directory in order for seam to compile without errors. I now have seam running successfully, but get a runtime exception every time I try to logon to the RAS server.

This code

enterpriseSession = sm.logon(username, password, cms, auth);

causes this exception

2006-11-20 12:00:49,551 ERROR [com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.pluginmgr.internal.PluginMgr] (getPlugins:292): unexpected exception
java.lang.ClassCastException: com.crystaldecisions.sdk.plugin.desktop.pdf.internal.PDFFactory

Any ideas on how to correct this?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Hi Dave

I wasn't familiar with JBoss Seam before you mentioned it in your post. Looks like yet another application framework like Struts or JSF. The logon error shouldn't cause any kind of ClassCastException with a PDF factory.

Have you tried commenting out all code except for the login. My only guess is that Seam changes the way that the code is executed so it appears that the error has to do with the login call. I really don't think this is possible.

Start off real simple and uncomment the code as you go to see where the error is coming from.

Rob Horne
Rob's blog - http://diamond.businessobjects.com/blog/10
