Lenovo G560 and Office 2013 installation problems.

I recently acquired a copy of Office 2013 and I upgraded my office 2010 to 2013. However, I get a response that some office packages could not open because set up could not find or validate an installition file. Please try reinstalling office from the installation source, or if you installed from a downloaded package, please redownload and reinstall. I have tried severally to reinstall but still facing the same problem. The only Office 15 package that work is Powerpoint. Im running Office on a Lenovo G560 core i3 processer, 3GB RAM and 320 HDD. The Office 15 package is OFFICE 2013 VL. Please help. I am desperate. Please help.

hi  onyanchaerick,
If the above procedure doesn't work, you can also try to:
1. Fully remove MS Office 2010 by following this or this guide.
2. If you have an Office Professional Plus 2013, download a trial version here, then activate it with your full version product key.
Goodluck!

  • App-V 5.0 SP2 and Office 2013 Publishing Problem

    Hi
I have a big problem with app-v 5.0 and Office 2013, the thing is that I have published it globally to a RDS servers in my farm and I have 4 different configuration xml's to publsih the package. I'm also using app-locker to prevent the users that are not supposed
to have the package doesn't get it published. That is working fine.
The default configuration xml is to publish the package to the computer with Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, onenote and Publisher and create shortcuts to All Programs.
I have 1 user configuration xml to a group (group 1) that has the default configuration but including 3 shortcuts to the desktop, Excel, Word and Outlook. I have another user configuration xml to group 2 that has all the application and all the shortcuts in
Office 2013 Pro and 4 shortcuts to the desktop. I have 1 user configuration xml for Excel only and another one for Word only.
This has been working well for 2-3 days but now users are getting error "The application failed to launch. The application belongs to a packages or a connection group that is scheduled to be unpublished. Error code: 0xA7E0E502-00000516".
And the Office 2013 is pending to unpublish globally on all servers even though no one has done anything except log in or log out.
What am I doing wrong, there are no connection groups on the app-v server but there where 2 or 3 long time ago and have been deleted.
    Kind Regards
    Kristján R. Halldórsson
    Best Regards Kristjan R. Halldorsson

I ran the get-appvclientconnectiongroup -all on my servers and there where none listed.
I have also enabled the Virtualization Subsystem debuglog on the client and I'm not finding any error that might relate to this problem.
The thing is I had a group policy enabled that said Enable Global Refresh on Logon = true but I changed that to false and published the package again globally and I'm just waiting now to see if the package goes to unpublish state as it did before.

Windows will not be able to see the device in the “Device Manager”
Last step, use your own Windows 8.1 Pro Key and Office 2013 key to register and activated your legal copy of the Microsoft software’s.
    Final, enjoy.

  • Trouble with deploying Win 8.1 and Office 2013 to Surface Pro 2

Setup; Win2012R2, WDS 6.3.9600.16384, MDT 2013 (6.2.5019.0), Surface Pro 2 128GB, MS USB Ethernet adapter
Issue 1: the TFTP transfer of the PE image is Extremely slow. 10 Mbps. Have tried to adjust Maximum Block Size without any improvement.
Issue 2: When I try to deploy both Windows 8.1 and Office 2013 the TS fails. It will not (start) installing the Application - the log confirms that it starts the script, but ends up with ZTI Heartbeat forever.
If I install Windows first and after the OS installation connect to the MDT server and start a TS With just Office 2013 it works without problem.
The disturbing part here is that if I use the same TS With both OS and Office on a Hyper-V Virtual machine it works...
    Have anyone seen this before?

  • Creative suite 4 and 5.5 compatable with Windows 8 and Office 2013?

We have both Creative Suite 4 and a few CS5.5.  One classroom will be moving to Windows 8 and Office 2013 this Summer term.  Will either of these suites work or will we need to upgrade to CS6?

The only honest answer: You won't know until you try. Generally they will/ should be compatible, but you may require dealing with legacy issues like printer compatibility or thne installer not finding specific folders as well as al lthe usual - security stuff, user privileges, network stuff in shared environements. you would face some of those issues even with CS6 or CC, so it's irrelevant to get a new version until there are real hard reasons beyond these issues. They can all be resolved, it may just take some fiddling and lots of patience.

  • Am i the only one that see's serious bugs with Windows Search index on Windows 8.1 and Office 2013?

So i originally had Windows 8 and Office 2013 installed. I noticed that alot of my emails in Outlook 2013 as well as contacts werent being indexed. I waited for windows 8.1 and did an upgrade hoping the 8.1 would fix the issue. It didn't.
So i formatted my hard drive, installed fresh windows 8.1, and office 2013, and let it Windows Index run. I see 2 things happening.
    A.) The indexer never completes
B.) the indexer takes up 40% cpu usage.
I tried rebuilding, creating index from new location, nothing seemed to work. I decided to prevent the indexer from searching Office apps (outlook and onenote) and low and behold it completes indexing.
I decided to try and format again and see if there was some bug causing the issue. So this week I formatted once agian, loaded Windows 8.1, installed updates, and loaded office 2013. Once again, my indexer
is stuck around 70k items and my processor usage on Searchindexer.exe is around 30-40%.
Is this a known bug with 8.1 and office?

  • Issue with Date and Time Picker on Windows 8.1 and Office 2013

We are having a issue with the Developer tool in Excel called the Date and Time Picker which puts a calendar field into the spreadsheet where you can select a date from the calendar popup
If we change this date field and then save and close and reopen it reverts back to the previous date before the change was made
If we do the same process on a Windows 7 machine with Office 2013 it saves the changes we made to the Date and Time picker field

    Hi jdono2,
    I'm using Windows 8 and Office 2013,and I can't reproduce this issue.
Please make sure you have already upgraded to the latest version of excel, try to reregister the MSCOMCT2.OCX.
Also you can try to use another date picker add-in to test this issue.

  • Conflict Between HP Universal Print Driver 6.0 and Office 2013

Has anyone else noticed a conflict between the HP UPD v. 6.0 and Office 2013?  We are running a Citrix environment with Office 2013 installed on a couple of application servers.  Almost all of our printers are HP's, and we were trying to use the latest UPD (6.0) on our print server.  However any time users print out of Outlook (yes people still do that) it crashes out and needs to be restarted.  Printing from other applications works just fine.  As a test I have tried the UPD v 5.8 and it seems to work ok.  Obviously I've found a solution I was just curious if anyone else has noticed this conflict.
This topic first appeared in the Spiceworks Community

You're probably getting the "Windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver" error if you're trying to add the driver while adding a printer that is shared over the network. You see, HP's Universal Printer Driver (UPD) doesn't contain the PnpIDs of every printers it supports, so when you specify HP's UPD as the drivers for the network printer, if Windows can't find a match for the printer's PnpID it spits out the driver isn't compatible.
The way to overcome this is to install a "generic" printer locally, using HP's UP driver, and change the port afterwards to point to the shared printer. So, first, add a local printer (that will be using the LPT1 port - make sure no printer is attached!), and click on "Have disk(s)" to browse to and select HP's UPD. Going through the remaining steps should install a locally-attached printer named something like "HP Universal Printing PCL 5" (or "[..] PCL 6"). You'll then go in the new printer's properties, on the "Ports" tab, and click on "Add Port...". If you're installing a shared printer, you'll select "Local Port", click on "New Port..." and specify the path to the printer (e.g. \\myserver\hplaserj) as the port name. Those steps should do the trick.
Last thing: beware, though, as HP's UPD PCL 6 might not be compatible (anymore) with your LaserJet 4050, as they use a PCL XL class number/revision (class 2.1; sort of a version number of the protocol) that is higher than what your printer's firmware might support for PCL6 (should be class 2.0) I know the latest versions of HP's UPD PCL 6 doesn't work with our LJ 4000 & 4050 printers, so you might have to use the PCL5e driver for those 64-bit workstations.

  • How to apply an Outlook 2013 Open license to a pre-installed Office Home and Business 2013 installation for Email Auto Archiving functionality

    We're deploying new Dell pc's.
Unfortunately we have a large existing install base of Office Home and Business in the field due to customers buying Office bundled on Dell machines.  Buying Open License Outlook licenses is more cost effective than upgrading to Office Pro Plus for all
these users and is our preferred path.  We aren’t sure how to apply these Open License Outlook licenses since the Home and Business installations work off a single license key for all the applications

    Hi,
Isn't the Office bundled on Dell machines already activated?
If it's the OEM version that has been installed on the machines and you want to use retail product keys to activate the Office, it's not possible. You will need to uninstall the OEM version and install the retail version.
You can check the OEM licensing system here:

  • Office 2013 Startup Problem with NEW Win 8.1 Install and no prior Office Version

Although I have seen similar threads on the forum, they all seem to address a different scenario.
    My environment is as follows:
Intel MotherBoard with I07 max processor
    64GB RAM
512 GB SSD Boot drive on which Windows 8.1 was installed as first and only O/S.  It was validated
4TB HDD on which User directory and programs installed (those which permit drive selection in startup)
    4TB data drive.
Machine was built from scratch with Win 8.1 Pro plus Media Center
Office 2013 Pro Plus was installed and validated
Machine is running in an MS AD Domain whose PDC is running on Win Server 2008 R2
User is a member of Enterpise and Domain Admin group
    HERE'S THE PROBLEM,
Any Office 2013 Pro Plus application (Not Just Oulook) goes through the configuration step EACH time it is launched.

    Hi,
Try repairing Office in Control Panel -> Programs and Features, check the result.
    You can also try this:
Go to the install folder, such as C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15, find the .exe file for the application, let's take Word for example, WINWORD.EXE, right click on it, send the shortcut to Desktop, right click the
shortcut -> Properties -> Shortcut -> Advanced -> Check "Run as administrator" -> OK -> OK.
Start Word from the shortcut, you may need to go through the process again, reboot the computer, check if it will show up again when you start Word. If the problem doesn't exist any more, do the same to other Office applications.

  • Lync and Office 2013 Home and Business 'Present PowerPoint' not working

    Hello All,
We have an Exchange online E1 plan that includes Lync, that we have been using without problems for the last year or so.
The 'Present PowerPoint' functionality of Lync is very useful, and again it has been working without fault until now.  However, for one user who we have upgraded to Office 2013 Home and Business (from Office 2010), it no longer works when she clicks on
present, select PowerPoint and select a .pptx file. She gets the following error message...
'the presentatio.ppx couldn't be converted for presentation because Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is not installed on this computer. Please install VBA and try again.'
The thing is it seems that Visual Basic for Applications is installed as a part of the Lync Basic Install. I re-installed Lync just in case, and when I clicked customize I ensured that Visual Basic for Applications was checked to install as run from the
    computer.
In searching online I can see plenty of other people suggesting with Office 2010 to repair the Office install, and select customize and make sure the Visual Basic for Applications is checked to install too.  However, with Office 2013 Home and Business
you don't get this option - it seems all or nothing.  I have tried repairing both installs, re-installing etc with no luck
So is it that Office 2013 Home and Business incompatible with Lync or can anyone help or throw some ideas at me?
    Thanks,
    Andrew.

The suggestion since there is not direct solution as of today  would be either roll back the office 2010 since we know this work
On upgrade to Office 2013 Pro use the full Lync Client

  • App-V CRM 2013 Outlook Client and Office 2013 Click to Run

    Hi,
I'm trying to get going with enbing the CRM 2013 for Outlook client with the VL version of Office Pro Plus 2013.  I have successfully published and use Office App-V package in a test environment.  App-V version 5.0 SP2 is installed on the client
PC (Windows 7 64bit).  SCCM 2012 R2 is used to publish APP-V applications to user groups.
I have sequenced the CRM 2013 Outlook client (offline mode disabled) with UR2 and published it using SCCM as a "Add-on or Plug-in.  I've also created a connection group so that the App-V version of Office 2013 is able to connect to the sequenced
CRM client.  The client installs successfully, but the CRM tab doesn't appear in the Outlook Ribbon, and the Configuration Wizard crashes each time it is launched.  The App-V event log is blank (which I'm taking to be a good sign).  All CRM
client prerequisites have been preinstalled on the target PC.
I'm thinking that the CRM client can't see the Outlook application and therefore crashes and doesn't integrate with the Outlook application.  Problem Signature 09 (from the crash explanation) states "System.NullReference Exception".
I can't seem to find much out there for sequencing the 2013 version of the client.  Has any else managed this yet or have any ideas where I'm going wrong?
    Thanks,
    Tim

    Hello,
I would use Process Monitor to understand what happens and to see why Outlook isn't seeing the plugin, and why the wizard is crashing

  • SharePoint 2010 and Office 2013 Can't edit documents

    Hello
I have built a desktop image with Office 2013. I am receiving the following error when I click on a document in a SharePoint library and click "Edit in Microsoft Word" (the problem is not limited to Word):
The document could not be opened for editing. A Microsoft SharePoint Foundation compatible application could not be found to edit the document.
    I have tried the following:
Ensuring the "WebClient" service is running
Ensuring the site is in the "Local Intranet" zone
Checking the "SharePoint OpenDocuments Class" add-on is loaded
Making sure Internet Explorer is not running in 64-bit mode
    Manually re-registering OWSSUPP.DLL
Ensuring the SharePoint Foundation integration components are installed
    Repairing Microsoft Office
The document sometimes loads succesfully but not always. When it will and won't load seems quite random. I am at a complete loss as to why this is!
I am running the following on my client:
    Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 (x64)
Office Professional Pro Plus 2013 (VL)
If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate this.
    Regards
    Peter

This took a lot of tracking down!!!!
The issue is with Office 2013. Someone at Microsoft has hardcoded what I think maybe the US local into a registry key request!!! Just brilliant!!
The key in question is: HKCR\Installer\Components\55EAFA0B8A4403B428FDE038B252C621\x86\2057
    2057 is the US local
However we are not in the US !! Our local is 1033. So the key that exists on our PCs is
    HKCR\Installer\Components\55EAFA0B8A4403B428FDE038B252C621\x86\1033
But Microsoft is looking for x86\2057 and that is why it fails - Also, if you are getting it were the document opens first time then errors from then on until IE is restarted -
That is because the first time you make a document call through SharePoint in a new IE session, it calls it differently to subsequent calls. I have verified this by tracing what is going on in the background...
Now due to the nature of the call you cannot just rename they key to be the missing key - we need to create and additional key ending in 2057 with the same value as (in our case x86\1033. So in the end you should have the following keys in place:
    HKCR\Installer\Components\55EAFA0B8A4403B428FDE038B252C621\x86\1033

  • HP PhotoSmart Premium C310 - Windows 8 and Office 2013 - Where have the page sizes gone

I have just upgraded to Office 2013 on my windows 8 PC.
Now when I goto print, and click "printer properties" evert drop down is blank, and all the titles are in Chinese. HELP please.
Also the page size options have now lost useful things like A4, Letter etc.
Technet says to upgrade my printer drivers, but I'm on the latest ones, I can't contact support, as It says my printer is no under warranty support any more. I don't have fault with the printes, its with the driver. Please HP help.
I can supply screen shots of the issue, but could not work out how to post them here!
Everything worked O.K. with office 2010.
    Thanks

So only print functions and printer-related settings are in another language?  Did you use the installation disc that came with the printer or did you download the software from the HP Website?
Here is a video on how to uninstall the HP driver from Windows 8 in case you can not understand the words.  And here is a link to the Photosmart Premium C310 Full Feature Software and Drivers for a Windows 8 64-bit PC in United Kingdom.  When I went to www.hp.com/support, I selected your country first and then chose the Software and Drivers section after that.  You will want to click the "Download" button and follow those instructions.  I hope this helps you.  Let me know if this provides for you the proper driver.
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.
