Lenovo U450p Fan control Can someone modify?
Hello!
i found a thread where a guy modified the Idepad 350 Bios so that the fan noise is fixed. Can someone also do this for the 450? This would be great! Many thanks!

Glad to see that you're fully satisfied with your laptop now.
I didn't change temperature thresholds, only two fan speeds were modified (they are used when CPU temperature is below 55 Celsius). Now the fan rotates on almost inaudible speed while CPU temperature doesn't exceed 55 degrees.
Of course your laptop will be a little hotter in idle than before but it's inevitable payment for silence.
By the way, you can safely turn off the useless wmpnetwk.exe (see all details here).

Finally ready to fix my cpu fan noise - can someone PM?
So I have a 17" rev a imac (1.8 ghz) - now that my 3 year Apple Care plan is up (a new power supply, 2 new logic boards, and a new hard drive later) - I am ready to do anything to fix the model airplane fan noise/whine coming from the CPU fan. I know when the issue has at the forefront a couple of years ago, there was a housing modification that seemed to work for a lot of people, but I haven't been able to find it again. Could someone PM me with info about it if you know of it?

Lenovo S10-3 Fan Control (Linux) and overheating
Good day to everyone.
Let me describe the situation. My Lenovo S10-3 is always hot (even in idle) and uses internal fan very often. It irritates very much because fan is noisy (service found no problem).
Sensors: acpi-tz ~60C, core ~50C (idle).
But even fan is disabled (connector is pulled out from motherboard) temperature becomes not much higher --- approx 65-70C.
Now, the question: is there any way to override BIOS fan control values? (e.g. 55C="Fan on" to 60C="Fan On")
For the S10 series there is program named "Fan Control", but it doesn't work on S10-3 and this program is for MS Windows only. Can anyone give comprehensive ansver/guide how to control fan speed (or on/off temperature values) using native linux tools or special program? It might be very useful for others who experiences the same problem. Thanks.The heatsink is not connected to the surface of CPU and GPU and this is why you said that disabling the fan doesn't make any difference in the temperature. There are two pieces of thermal pad on the CPU and GPU.They are actually unusable. Remove them. Put thermal paste on the surface of CPU and GPU and heatsink and then put a piece of copper on CPU and GPU. This will make connection between heatsink and surface of CPU. This will make the fan usefull . Do this at your own risk (There is no risk. But use suitable pieces of copper is very important.) Using google will help you find about this issue

In my macbook pro 15 inch mid 2012 model, my cpu and gpu will get very hot, when gaming or rendering sometimes over 200F. The fans only spin at max about 2900 rpm, when their max is 6400. I downloaded a fan control app, but how can i fix it?

two weeks have passed since i got my Thinkpad L530 and for the most part i am happy with it. But there is one issue which gets on my nerves:
- the absolute annoying pulsing of the fan !!!
For me one of the most important reasons to buy this laptop were the good test-results about noise-emission and battery-duration, because i use this laptop for work. Therefore annoying fan-sounds are unacceptable.
To solve this issue i have comb through serveral forum-threads and finally found a solution for my Win7-OS with TPFanControl. But i also use Xubuntu and on linux there are currently no working fan-applications for the SL- / L- and some E-Series
What i have read about i'm not the only one with that problem and that issue seems known for ages....so my question is:
- WHY do we still have to use third-party programs to get this problem solved, with the risk of breaking our hardware? Is it that hard for lenovo to offer a proper fan-control for their devices?

It does make the fan operate correctly EXCEPT where one suspends or hibernates, in which case I still get fan problems. I have outlined the situation here on our wiki: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Tos … llite_L300 and have a link there to an attempt to fix the issue by disassembling the DSDT. I have yet to go any further and attempt to fix the DSDT errors in this laptop. For the moment, because Arch boot quite quickly I simply do not use hibernate or suspend on that laptop.

I am new to Labview and Arduino. I have two Inertial Measurement Unit sensors and I wish to send the readings to a PC via Bluetooth. I read that I can perform this using the LIFA. Can I modify the Arduino sketch ‘LIFA_Base.pde’ to include some motor control? I wish to use the readings earlier to control the motor to move different directions. At the same time, I wish the readings can be sent continuously to the PC wirelessly?The newest LIFA_Base.pde has motor controls. The issue that I see is that the VIs are designed to be connected to the Arduino through serial.
You could have an Arduino connected to the computer and another Arduino connected to the motors. Each Arduino is equipped with Bluetooth to create the wireless connection.
Alternatively, and probably easier... create your own case in the LabVIEWInterface.pde to handle Bluetooth commands from the computer. In this case, you would only need one Arduino with Bluetooth (connected to the motors). *Assuming your computer has Bluetooth and you can send Bluetooth commands.
It is hard to give suggestions without knowing the whole system. Hope this helps.

can someone please tell me how to modify this code so that I dont have to enter the file path at all? When i give the same file path constants to both the read and write VIs I'm getting an error message.

read and write.vi 11 KBYup use the low level File I/O opening the reference once, and closing it once.
As for the path selection you have an unwired input which is the path to use. Programatically set that and you won't be prompted to select a path. Usually this is done with a path constant to a folder, then using the Build Path, to set the file name in that folder.

Hi my name is Amit, after upgrading to OS X Maverick I often have problem of my Hot corners stop working after a short period of time. I have to go to mission control and have to reset them for them to start working again. However this is temparory and they stop working again and this is quite annoying. My "fn" button is stuck on only revealing mission control in Lion. With this problem none of my "f" keys will work nor can I hold "fn" and delete to delete text in opposite direction. Can someone please help with this?
