Limitation of 60 characters for namespace?

Hi,
I try to upload an external message definition (XSD) with a message belonging to a namespace with a name longer than 60 characters. Doing this, the Message does not appear on the "Messages" tab. If I manually edit the namespace and shorten it to under 60 characters it seems to work. This leads to the questions:
Is there a hard limit for name space names of 60 characters?
Is there a workaround available other than edit the original XSD (not an option since the XSD is controlled by another party...)
Kind regards Johan

Yes, since you are using an expression, you need to give a valid identifier for the expression.

    Hi,
I have a file (FCC) to file (XML) scenario. The output that I am getting is a .xml file. When I open the output file in Notepad (text editor) I got the following

The way you are looking at the file is always depends on how the editor is showing it on the screen. Though both the editors are showing different characters, the character might be the same internally. At the command prompt, use the command type <file name with full path>. You will see exactly what is in the file. Best thing would be to give the file to you end point people and ask them if it is what they wanted.

  • Filename lengths are limited to 31 characters?

Why are filename lengths still limited to 31 characters?
Why do the dialogs look like ports from the PC world?
Is Logic Express itself a port from the PC world?
Although Logic Express has its own slickness, Vision from OpCode Systems, was, considering when it was written, so much better, at least when working with MIDI. Adherance to Mac conventions was so good that it was an easy program to learn in spite of its complexity. Logic Express is proving to be difficult for me to learn with its quirky ways of doing things.

"it's pretty difficult to put together something as complex as a modern, fully-featured DAW without making some concessions"
"I'm sure it's a big-*** codebase, and probably not the easiest to patch for things that seem, from our perspective, to be simple."
Actually I am aware of the difficulties in creating complex software. I was a software engineer from 1959 to 1993. (Yes, there were computers in 1959.) I'm always amazed -- not to mention pleased -- when a complex interaction among input, display, output, real-time constraints, on-the-fly editing, etc works without a hiccup. The modern, metaphorical graphical interface belies the complexity underneath. It's reminiscent of the unbelievable complexity which lies just under our own visual interface aka skin.
I just wish that Apple had started with Opcode System's VISION product. Way back in OS 8, for example, one could have a display of a playing song and pull down a menu without interrupting either the display or the playing. With Logic the playing continues but the graphic display pauses. I know that this is not terribly relevant to anyone in the music business, but it would seem to reveal an old architecture forcibly fit to the new environment, and then I wonder about the things that I can't see.
Well, I probably worry too much, because Logic Express has yet to crash or corrupt any of its files. And of course my whole music studio is, except for the MIDI keyboard, on my hard disk instead of the racks of equipment I used to have.

  • Why is the icloud adress limited to 21 characters?

My name was already taken and the same happened me at gmail. My solution was to add my middle name and the result was an address 23 characters long. That was no problem with gmail but icloud seems to have a 21 characters limit, why?
This will probably keep me from aquiring an icloud email address becuase adding something similar to my real name will only result in confusion with the already taken address. Adding my middle name would make some sense but anything else would feel too contrived.
I would really like to be able to use applications like Notes and maybe even mail but not if I can't be able to choose an email address that makes sense so please explain to me why I should be prevented from selecting an address 23 characters long...
Ps. I really love my Apple products (iMac, Mac Book Pro, iPads and iPhones) but I don't like them being locked into services that doesen't make sense to me. It is quite frankly taking the edge off the so called user experience. Stupidity like allowing 21 characters for miljons of users to come up with unique user names...

Today I tried to setup Family Sharing on IOS 8.
First I had to give Apple my credit card number to set it up.  I have always used gift cards up until now and I do not see why apple need my credit card number to use family sharing.  I guess it is so Apple can say they have 5 billion and one credit card numbers on file.  Oh Well.
Then I started to create an apple ID for my 10 year old son.  Well guess what, Apple won't accept my son's email address because it is over 21 characters long.  The domain for my son's email is 17 characters.  Add the @ and that makes 18 which only leaves 3 characters for the name.  I am not changing my son's email address just to get family sharing working.
Please remove this ridiculous limitation for an apple ID.
I am not going to create a new email address for my son just to use family sharing, No not even an iCloud address.
I am off now to remove my credit card details from my iTunes account.
Too bad that a great idea has been totally ruined because of a silly limit on the length of an email address.

Why is asking a question to Firefox so difficult, and limited to a limited number of 'characters'?

Sorry for the confusion; it seems as though I am the one confused--after jumping through several hoops, I thought I was sending a question to the Firefox help support...my question was about 7 characters too long to send, apparently.

  • Maximum number of characters for Host name..

Is there a limit to the number of characters for the host name of adobe lifecycle?
    Is 15 characters to much?

What makes you believe that 32 characters is remotely necessary?  As Ralph indicates, a shorter password is equally secure, in realistic terms.  Keep in mind that even if some hacker set up a script to repeatedly try random passwords on your account, they're never going to get in because there are limits on the number of times one can enter an incorrect password before being blocked on any decent system.  You can have a much shorter password, and as long as a human can't guess it from what is publicly known about you, it's secure.

  • Maximum Number of Characters for Password??

Hello, and thank you for reading my post.   I recently modified my Apple ID Password to a very strong password containing 32 characters.  When I try to log into this discussions group with that particular Apple ID, I can't because the website won't accept the password?  Wouldn't all of Apple's sites accept the same password?
Is there a maximum number of characters for a password in this discussion group?
    Thanks

  • Is there a limit of 4096 characters for IBRD?

I am running an application on a Win 3.1.1 machine that requests 2048 samples (each sample using several characters, for example: +.3502E+1) from an oscilloscope. Looking at Log files I made from the application I notice that there are 5 sets of ibrds, 4 containing 4096 character (including spaces between samples) and the last containg 3026 characters. All together there are 4096 "words" (samples). Is this 4096 character limit set by NI, or the application I am using or something other? Thank you for any help you can provide.

    Hi,
I am not aware of any such limitation to ibrd. ibrd function takes a long int representing the number of bytes to read from the GPIB port.
You mentioned that you requested 2048 samples from your device and you returned 4096 samples. Is this the expected behavior?
I would say for now, dig into the code that does this and find out if it is performing an ibrd with 4096 bytes requested.

There is no limit as such. The only limit imposed depends on the heap allocated for

  • How to restrict number of characters for an input field

    Hi All,
    I have an input field.
The max number of characters for this input field is 10.
when a user enter more then 10 characters. it should prompt for an error or the input field should not allow to accpet the 11 character.
how we do this in VC.
    need your helpful answers
    Rgds
    Srinivas

    Hi Srinu
You could achieve this by configuring error messages under the formula:-
Select the control properties and in the Input field at the Display tab write the formula
    "IF((@<LEN(text)>10),'appropriate message','Records available')"
Note :- there is a LEN(text) under text functions in formula tab.

  • Create a flat file with multiple characters for enclosures

    Hello,
    we use OWB 11g2 (11.2.02).
Now we try to create a flat file with multiple characters for enclosures. The manual wrote:
"Enclosures (Left and Right): Some delimited files contain enclosures that denote text strings within a field. If the file contains enclosures, enter an enclosure character in the text box or select one from the list. The list displays commonenclosures. However, you may enter any character. The default for both the left and right enclosure is the double quotation mark ("). You can specify multiple characters and hexadecimal characters as field enclosures."
But it will not work. The OWB use the first character from the left enclosure definition as left enclosure and the second one as right enclosure !?!
Did anyone know this behavior? Is there a solution for this problem?
    Thanks and regards
    Norbert

    HI Raghu,
               Use the function module 'GUI_UPLOAD'.
In that you have to specify the field_separator value = 'X' in export section.

Given file name or path contains Unicode or double-byte characters. Retry using ASCII characters for filename and path
What does this mean? It is happening when I try to publish an OAM for Dreamweaver.
Also: How can I specify the browser in Edge Animate? It is just going wherever. Are there no Preferences for Edge Animate?
BTW. Just call it Edge. Seriously. Do you call it Illustrator Draw? Photoshop Retouching?

No, my file name is mainContent.oam
    My project name is mainContent.an
This error happens when I try to import into Dreamweaver. Sorry, I wasn't clear on that earlier.
I thought maybe it was because I had saved my image as a png. So re-saved as a svg, still get the error.
DO I have a setting is Dreamweaver CC that is wrong? Should I try this in Dreamweaver CS6? I might try that next.
Why is this program so difficult? I know Flash. I know After Effects. I can work the timeline part just great. It's always in the export that I have problems.
    On a MacPro, 10.7.
Are you an Adobe person or just a nice helper?

There is an adobe distiller software that is configured and a java apps. There are postscript files that are being converted to .pdf format using the adobe distiller. Using the GUI (using the Exceed; for remote access), when they use GUI to convert the postscripts to pdf files, the long filenames have the corresponding characters for arabic reading purpose. This is OK.
When we use the windows RUN to telnet the server and convert the postscripts to pdf, it gives a question marks characters in the filenames ( this; is a sample; filename; ?? ??? ??; right.pdf )
We are not sure now if we have to add a package of arabic or a patch to resolve this problem.

Solution found, I'll post the work around to those who might encounter the same problem.
Somewhere in the layers of technology (webwork or weblogic I'd guess), the servlet response is encoded into UTF-8 regardless. The encoding in the database was ISO-8859-1. Sending ISO encoded bytes by UTF-8 caused the conflicting character codes (anything above 127) to show up as undefined.
The fix is to decode the input byte array into ISO-8859 string, then encode that string into UTF-8, which can be send by Weblogic.
    isoConvert = new String(buf, "ISO-8859-1");
    out.write(isoConvert.getBytes("UTF-8"), 0, isoConvert.getBytes("UTF-8").length);
