  • Native Language (Turkish) character problem

    Hi,
    When I generete output in Oracle EBS's publisher all my native language Turkish characters are in unwanted format. How can I solve this problem?
    Thanks

    You need to have the Turkish character font you are using in your template, available on the server. You need to use the font manager to load it into the EBS instance.

  • How to change the UI of Community Links portlet

    In WCI 10gR3, how could I change the UI of the Community Links portlet? Basically, I do not want the community icons next to my to-be-linked Community Pages list; All I want is just a heading like Quick Links and the links below.

    I would like to add another question about the Community Links portlet; is it possible to modify it so that it can have indentation (ie: categories/subcategories, like a bullet list)? Is there some other portlet available that would allow links to have some kind of categorization rather than appear only non-hierarchically?

  • Default size of new browser window launched from community links portlet

    Does anyone know of a way to control the size of the new browser window that is launched when the user clicks a link in a Community Links portlet (or any other links that launch a new browser window)?
    We default all users to open links in a new browser window and I can't seem to find any rhyme or reason to how it sizes the resulting window. Some community links come out really skinny and un-user friendly, while others are nicely sized to near full screen.
    Is there some way to control this?
    Thank you.

    Darla,
    Which version of the portal are you guys running? We are currently using 6.5 and all the links/Documents/ExternalLinks/Pages open up in a new browser window with the same sizes.
    Its basically controlled by javascript.

  • Has CS6 fixed the PPro with AE dynamic links slow to render problems?

    I've got PPro with AE dynamic links slow to render problems similar to those discussed in this thread:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/904652?start=0&tstart=0
    As I understand it (and I could well be wrong), if I render a PPro project that has AE projects dynamically linked in (anything from simple lower thirds to color grading), during rendering the AE bits run as a service, which limits the AE bits to a single CPU and effectively stops simultaneous rendering of multiple frames. This is why I can get very high render times (essentially no parallel processing), and why messing with the number of CPUs allowed for simultaneous frame rendering, or the amount of RAM said CPUs can access, has little to no effect on total render time.
    Supposedly as some point AE was going to be changed such that it used Media Encoder to do it's rendering (same as PPro does), thus speeding up rendering for any PPro project that has AE parts dynamically linked in.
    Has this been done in CS6? If not, any idea when that's scheduled to happen?

    (I do wish Adobe staff would keep this distinction mind when creating their videos.  When I saw one about the new background rendering in PP, I was interested, only to learn that he was actually talking about background exporting, a feature PP has had since AME was introduced in CS4.)
    The distinction is not so distinct, and this is an industry issue, not really Adobe. After Effects has a render queue, which is used for exporting, but you can also export. Lightwave has this, even Avid. The terms do have their own distinct meanings, but of course context is usually required. So usually "rendering previews" or "rendering final output" serve as context-sensitive uses of the term.
    Terminology abuse is widespread, even people with video cameras now call themselves "filmmakers" and people who produce films never shown nor intended for a cinema call themselves "cinematographers." ENG video producers are called "photogs" and news photographers are called "photojournalists."
    Transcoding, encoding, rendering, exporting....mish-mashed unfortunately, but thankfully most people can figure out what's meant.
    Back to the OP - After Effects can be used with Adobe Media Encoder, it's just not the default. You can import any composition into AME from AE and render your encoded export.
    As for background rendering....I remember when Pinnacle Liquid was the first to the table with that feature back in 2004 or 2005. It seemed awesome, except that you needed a ton of spare hard drive space and lots of processing to keep the background rendering going...effecitvely your processor was in use 100% of the time. When you weren't scrubbing or playing back, Liquid was rendering previews. Of course, you could use those previews during export but you rarely would have wanted to do so, since it was better quality to reference the original data when compositing the layers and effects to output to a web file, for instance. Then  you had to keep cleaning up the preview cache.
    I rarely render previews at all, and when I do it's just a small segment at a time, just to get a full look at the final composite. Mercury Playback is usually more than capable of playing back most of my edits the rest of the time.

  • Easy one: Changing style inside "Links" portlet

    Hi,
    Using Oracle Collaboration Suite 10g (10.1.2) here, so I believe there are some differences to the "full-blown" product...
    I could have sworn that when I tested 10.1.1 it took me a matter of moment to find out how to edit the "Links" portlet, easily changing the default font and link style as well as adding and removing default link items, such as "Mobile Preferences" and "Voicemail".
    I've been battling away for the best part of 2 hours now, and I can't for the life of me find a way to edit portlets in 10.1.2! Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks

    Adding the portlet into a page is currently the only way I can find to edit a porlet. In this mode, the pencil only gives the option to change the portlet height.
    The "cog -> edit instance" option again only allows limited changes; such as the display name, category, keywords and perspectives...
    The "Links" portlet itself contains Links to other OCS applications - such as Tasks, Calendar, Email, etc. I want to remove some of these links, and change the style for the text. And the icons.

  • Language Import problem

    Hello all,
    We met a language problem after SMLT importing ZH language.
    Our system is ECC 6.0 SR3, newly installed, support package level:
    SAP_BASIS    SAPKB70014
    SAP_APPL      SAPKH60011
    after  installing, I import language from DVD 51033496_6, and then, I logon system with ZH language, most of the words are displayed as Chinese but strange is that some descritptions (when I click F4) are displayed as blank, function consultant said it should be displayed as normal. so, I'm confused wether there are some more language I need to import.
    Currently in SMLT, under Chinese, there are two items:
    Imported packges:SAPKLZHM10
    Suplemented ith: ENGLISH
    I have following two questions:
    1. do I need to import anymore languae packages in order to display all chinese correctly?
    2. do I need to import netweaver lanuages? since some tcodes like DB02, SM37 are still in english
    3. is it obligatory to download othe language packages in solution manager? because I search "language neweaver" in service market place, but no record returned.
    Thank you very much for all.
    Freshman

    Hello Freshman,
    As you are running an ECC 6.0 SR3, you have used the correct language package to install ZH language (that is, package SAPKLZHM10 from DVD 51033496_6).
    But installing the language package is just the first step that you have to perform when installing a new language in the system.
    This is what you have to do next to complete the Chinese language installation:
    1. Install the language part of Support Packages.
    If Support Packages have been applied into the system before installing ZH language, the texts in ZH included in those Support Packages are not available yet in your system. Therefore, you must proceed as follows:
        SMLT --> single click on 'Chinese' to select it --> Language --> Special Actions --> Import Support Packages
    a new screen will be displayed with all the Support Packages of your system. If any of them has a red light, it means that the ZH texts from that package are not in your system, so you have to click the 'Go to next screen' button. Now you will see a list with the Support Packages that had a red light in the previous screen; clicking again the 'Go to next screen' will start the import of the Chinese texts stored on those Support Packages.
    2. Now you have to supplement Chinese language with English in all the clients of the system, starting with client 000. In order to do it logon into client 000 and go to:
        SMLT --> single click on 'Chinese' to select it --> Language --> Supplement Language
    if a screen pops-up with information about the Secondary Language, just click 'Yes' to continue.
    Write anything you want in the 'Description' field, leave the default options and click 'Execute' to start the supplementation.
    Once that it finishes, do the same in all the other existing clients in the system.
    3. Finally, go to transaction SE38 and execute report RSTLAN20. In the selection screen that is displayed after executing the program select all the check boxes. It will refresh the language load from the buffers.
    After that check the screens again, this time they should not be displayed as blank. Anyhow, if you have any problem update this thread and I'll have a look at it.
    Regarding your second question about importing the netweaver language package, it is not needed. The language package for ECC 6.0 is enough. You must take into account that the degree of translation of Chinese is 0 (it can be seen in SMLT, double click in 'Chinese'). It means that SAP has only delivered some texts translated into Chinese, you cannot expect to have all the texts in the system in Chinese. For the languages with degree of translation lower than 2, most of the "technical" transactions (DB02, ST04, etc) are not translated and will be displayed in the supplementary language (English in your case).
    And regarding the Solution Manager language package, in an ECC 6.0 system you don't have to install any Solution Manager language package.
    But if you have a Solution Manager system, you must use the corresponding language package created for Solution Manager systems. Depending on your Solution Manager release, you have to use one of these DVD: (you will find all the information about which DVD and language package corersponds to each release in [SAP Note 330104|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/330104|Link to SAP Note 330104] )

  • Repost:Edit Folder link/Portlet Customize link

    All,
    apologies if this has been asked already.
    Need to hide the customize link in Portlet and edit folder link in folder/content area. Better yet, would like to give selective access to these, based on user group (or other acl). I am on 3.0.7. Currently, hiding the header (or banner) is the only way of not showing these links. Do later versions have the same problem ? or has this issue been resolved.
    Thanks
    Sanjay

    I had similar problem in 3.0.9
    I agree with Karthic that looks like a caching problem.
    In the folder portlet, I enabled the Edit option. If a user originally had the privileges to do edit folder, then the folder shows the Edit option.
    If later I remove the privileges so that the user only have view content privileges,
    then the Edit option still shows up in the folder portlet and if the user clicks on the "Edit"link, then a message like insufficient privileges error comes up.
    FYI i don't use any caching for pages.
    Karthic,
    have you heard of this problem in 3.0.9?
    Tks!

  • Portlet Screen Chaining Problem

    Hi all,
    I've made a PDK-java portlet that is identicle to the multipage portlet example using JDeveloper. The portlet shows up fine on the page; however when I click on the "second page" link, I get the javascript error "Object expected". Reviewing the HTML source code I see that the link creates href="javascript:refreshPortlet(..."
    I don't see the refreshPortlet function defined anywhere in the HTML code, which appears to be the problem.
    Anyone seen this before or can provide any help?
    Thanks in advance.

    nvm. Changing the constructHTMLLink method to use UrlUtils.PAGE_LINK instead of UrlUtils.REFRESH_LINK (what's in the example) fixes the problem.

  • JES5 Language Localize Problem in Web Interface

    I hope this is the correct forum to ask this question...
    Here's the problem:
    I wanted to make a Dutch version of the Sun Java Communication Express, so I followed all the steps you have to do (create folders, translate all the necessary files, edit .properties files, ... etc). I've also restarted the server after uploading.
    It seems that everything has worked out well, because when I go to my web interface, I can log in. I change the language to Dutch, and logged out.
    Now here's the weird part. When I log in again now, my "Mail" tab stays in English. But when i go to "Calendar", "Options", etc. the interface is show in dutch, as i translated them.
    I've found out that the redirecting url might be wrong, cause the url that show in my browser is: (ip)/uwc/webmail/en/mail.html?lang=en&laurel=on&cal=1
    It doesn't seem normal to me that, in the url, there is still "en" instead of "nl" for dutch. When I change the url manually, that's the only way to show the dutch version of my mail tab.
    So propably the problem is that the url ist being editted after choosing dutch as language(when I choose French, it DOES edit the url to "fr").
    Has anyone got an idea how to fix this?
    Kind regards,
    Andrew

    Shane,
    as I have been updating our own documentation I have also honored your request to update the publically available [ http://msg.wikidoc.info/index.php?title=Add_New_Language_ME Messaging Server wiki].
    For future reference the above link may be more up-to-date then this text.
    How do I add a new language to the Messenger Express interface that is not one of the languages localized by Sun?
    Because Sun does not provide additional localizations beyond those already supplied, you need to do your own translation.
    Start by copying the original files of one of the supported languages to the new language you need to support. In this case I translate from English (language code: en) to Dutch (language code: nl).
    Your Messenger Express may be installed in a different directory, change paths accordingly.
    <tt>
    cp -r /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/en /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/nl
    </tt>
    Translate the file <tt>/opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/nl/i18n.js</tt>. It contains most of natural language used in webmail. The files <tt>help.htm</tt> and <tt>help2.htm</tt> contain a lot of help text. I cheated and replaced those files with less extensive useage instructions or just leave the original english and hope the customers don't complain too much.
    For each language already supported and the new one edit the file <tt>i18n.js</tt> and add a localized name for the Dutch language and add Dutch to the supported/available languages in the options page.
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/en/i18n.js
    i18n['en']='English'
    *'i18n['nl']='Dutch'*
    function i18n_preferredlanguagelist()
    var lang_list = new Array('en', *'nl',* 'es')
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/es/i18n.js
    i18n['en']='Ingls'
    *'i18n['nl']='Holands'*
    function i18n_preferredlanguagelist()
    var lang_list = new Array('en', *'nl',* 'es')
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/nl/i18n.js
    i18n['en']='Engels'
    *'i18n['nl']='Nederlands'*
    function i18n_preferredlanguagelist()
    var lang_list = new Array('en', *'nl',* 'es')
    </tt>
    The Messenger Express web interface has built in spelling check. The dictionary files come from the ancient/traditional unix ispell and are
    available for download from: http://ficus-www.cs.ucla.edu/geoff/ispell-dictionaries.html
    Download the Dutch affix rule file and the actual dictionary files, and use the buildhash command to make a hash file Messenger Express can use. When
    copying this hash files be warned that you can't copy it from x64 to sparc (big/little endian) architectures.
    <tt>wget ftp://ftp.tue.nl/pub/tex/GB95/ispell-dutch96/dutch96.lat</tt> (dictionary)
    <tt>wget ftp://ftp.tue.nl/pub/tex/GB95/ispell-dutch96/dutch96.aff</tt> (affix file for use with above dictionary)
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/lib/buildhash dutch96.lat dutch96.aff /opt/SUNWmsgsr/lib/nl.hash
    </tt>
    with a new dictionary in the correct place it should be detected automatically after a restart of Messenger Express.
    Use configutil to make Messenger Express aware of the new language:
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o gen.installedlanguages
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o local.supportedlanguages
    </tt>
    returns for instance the language strings: <tt>en,es</tt>. Add Dutch:
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o gen.installedlanguages -v "en,es,nl"
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o local.supportedlanguages -v "[nl,en,es]"
    </tt>
    Make the new Dutch language the default language for this site:
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o gen.sitelanguage -v nl
    </tt>
    Restart Messenger Express (web interface) to make the changes effective.
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/stop-msg
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/start-msg
    </tt>

  • Help needed with an AIR language packaging problem

    I have a game that includes resources for the Hebrew language, however the <supportedLanguages/> tag supports only ISO 639-1 languages, and Hebrew is not listed; in fact I got a compiler/packaging error when I tried to use "he".  Currently I am getting a notice in Google play that warns me this game might not be packaged correctly: "You translated the store listing into Hebrew but not the APK."   Is there a way around this problem, perhaps some manual editing of some files somewhere?  I'd like to publish the same app to the Apple app store, I imagine they will be even less lenient there.
    We are using Flash Builder 4.7 and AIR 3.7 on Windows 7 x64 SP1.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

    It can be done for iOS. Check here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5140906

  • D-Link Dir-615 internet problems

    Hi All, I am not posting this for help. I came across a problem and could not find any help on the net that would solve it. So this is to help anyone whom might have similar problems.
    First, let me give you the scenario. I have SBC DSL as my ISP and the 2Wire modem/router took a dump. I looked for a modem/router combo that was 802.11 (N) compliant. There are a few but the prices were a little above what I wanted to pay. So I ended up buying a DSL modem and a D-Link DIR-615. I set the modem to "Bridge Mode" and followed the set up instructions from D-Link. After the setup some web pages were stalling and timing out. I noticed this on HTTPS pages mostly but also pages on the Apple site too. I then went to Safari and used the "Activity Window" to show me why.
    Well the cure for this, which I have not been able to find anywhere on the net, was to "Disable" QoS on the DIR-615. After that...greased lightning speeds.
    Hope this helps anyone that might be suffering with the same problems.
    Cheers,
    Glynn

    This is because your Mac is connecting to your router but is failing to obtain an IP address via DHCP.
    Is your Mac still set up to obtain an address automatically via DHCP?
    If so, try the following sequence:
    1) Disconnect from your D-Link
    2) Power off the cable modem and router.
    3) Power on the cable modem and wait until its status lights indiciate it is connected to its network.
    4) Power on the D-Link and wait until its status lights state it is connected.
    5) Try to reconnect to the D-Link on your Mac.
