Link protection using MPLS

Hi everybody
I am reading a book on MPLS TE by Eric Osbornne and Ajay .
I have a question
R1------R2---(cloud)----R4
Please consider the following config:
R1
tunnel 0
ip unnumbered L0
tunnel destination ( 4.4.4.4)
tunnel mode mpls traffic -engineering
tunnel mpls traffic-engineering bandwidth 40
tunnel mpls traffic-engineering path-option 10 dynamic.
tunnel mpls traffic-engineering fast-reroute
Assuming 40 mig is available but R2 is not configured to provide any protection that R1 is asking for.
Will tunnel 0 come up though requested protection is not provided?

Hi,
The tunnel will come up. When you enable "tunnel mpls traffic-engineering fast-reroute", the head end will set the link protection required flag in PATH message along with record-route.
So each router along the path will include its router id and label in RESV message which can be used by any PLR to detect the merge point (using RID) and use the label to merge the backup tunnel.
In short, the presence of "fast-reroute" configuration will not affect the primary tunnel status.

Hi Venkat,
If a report is created over a DSO, it pulls data from the active table of a DSO. So as suggested in all the posts above it is not possiable to report on the DSO without activating it.
Activation of DSO only allows to generate SID's to link transaction data and master data, SID's could also be generated at the time of reporting (When the report fetches data from BI server, but for the SID generation data is needed in active table). Also activation checks the correctness of data etc.
Could you please let know why you want to report on the unactive request, is it having some problem with activation?

Error with Links if using x3 primary keys

Hi Folks:
Here is the error code I'm receiving:
ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows
Unable to fetch row.
Background: I am using Application Express 3.2
All of the pages I have created that rely on x2 primary keys (first_name, last_name) work fine.
I have a table that has x3 primary keys: Table is called "time_off_awards". The x3 primary keys are: last_name, first_name, approval_date.
I created a report that works properly and lists the awards for each person (each person can receive more than one award-on different dates).
I also created an edit link that works properly IF *(only if)* each individual has only one award. If the individual has more than one award then I get the error above. When I set up the link I used all three keys. The x3 PK's should uniquely identify each row, but if the same last name/first name appear more than once (that is if the person has more than one award) I get the error. I thought at first maybe it was just not reading the 3rd key/part of the link (approval_date), but it shows properly if you move your cursor over the edit link.

Thank you everyone for the help and information you gave to me.
Your ideas and advice helped me to think through the issues involved.
The way i actually found to work around this issue was a little different.
What I did was the following (which may only be usable with empty tables. If its possible to create a new column with a sequence and trigger on a table that already contains data it should work also):
1. I removed the current PK's that were currently set.
2. I added a single, unique PK (that used a sequence and trigger to automatically increment) to the table as was suggested in this thread and other APEX forum threads.
3. I changed the link on the report so that it used the new PK, and also changed the PK used on the forms (under Processes - both the page rendering and page processing processes).
The Difference:
4. Next I changed the table (not by using APEX, but directly) from using the automatically generated ID as the PK, back to using the compound PK (x3 keys). I then added an constraint to make sure that the automatically generated column was unique. So now I have the compound PK that my supervisor wants us to use, and I'm able to use a unique, automatically generated key for APEX to use.
I found also that if you already have a column that uses a unique/auto-generated key you can still use it with APEX without switching keys around.
1. I added the new column to the sql in the reports source section so that the new column was searched (and then used 'hidden' so it wouldn't be displayed on the report users would see).
2. You can still add the unique key under the processes on the form that is being linked too under the Primary key tabs. If its not a PK it won't show up in the pop up which is to the right of "Item Containing Primary Key Column Value" but it can be entered manually (i.e. p23_AUTO_ID) and it will work fine. You would also need to edit your form so that the auto ID that is being passed from the report is part of the form - but hidden if desired).

However, when I checked out the Tools > Protection > Encrypt> "Encrypt with Password" is greyed out.

Yes, it can. Use File > Properties, and click the Security tab. Click Change, and set what you need. When the file is saved, the security is set.

It sounds like you have chosen a publishing template rather than a word processing template. There are two basic modes in MS Word: word processing and publishing layout. Word processing mode (and all word processing templates) have a continuous text box in the page for writing text. The publishing layout mode (and publishing templates) are documents that have text boxes placed for articles, titles, pictures, etc. Be sure to choose the word document template and you’ll get what you expect. Do not choose the word publishing document.

Set annotation flags for link annotations using JavaScript

The JavaScript for Acrobat API Reference doesn't list Link as an annotation type[1]even if it's a subtype in the PDF specification (8.4.5 Annotation Types).
I know how to get the link objects using JavaScript, but they don't have a print property, because it belongs to its mother annotation object.
Example:
I have a scanned PDF, OCRed, with two links. Acrobat's content panels shows an annotation object with two links.

Thanks for replying. But this example sets falshvars through the UI, and as I have mentioned I want this done from javascript in the document - I dont have the value for some of the flashvars during embedding.
(Using a EI call is my last resort, as I am not expected to make any modification to the SWF file - the SWF file, hitherto, was being hosted in a HTML where it was being passed flashvar params)

Action links show link conditionally using simple filter

When I set up an interaction with action link, every thing works fine. But when I try to use the 'show link conditionally' using a simple condition, I get an error such as:

Linked servers:Using 64 and 32 bit ODBC providers concurrently

I have a very odd problem that I hope someone can help me with. I have a 64 bit odbc MySQL driver. Unfortunately, although I can connect to the data source from the control panel, the linked server cannot connect to the MYSQL data source. The
funny thing is that other linked servers (using the same odbc driver) have no problem connecting to their respective hosts. The problem seems seems to be between the 64 bit linked server and the host (a shoretel IP phone database that runs on top of
windows). I know that the 32 bit driver used to work, but when I rebuilt the server to 64 rather than 32 bit the linked server failed. What I am trying to do is to use both 64 bit driver and 32 bit driver concurrently (I have installed the 32 bit
version using the WOW 32 bit odbc tool, but because the SSMS provider dialog only allows me to use the 64 bit system dsn. I am wondering if I can get the 32 bit version to work as well using a user rather than system dsn. Is this possible? I
can send screenshots of the problem if needed. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

You can not. You can only use provider of the same 32/64 bit architecture as the SQL Server have.

Linked server using kerberos working fine but after leaving the session inactive for 10 minutes is startin to fall down to ntlm and receive the anonymous logon error

we are connecting to SQL mgmt studio app published on citrix, using Windows authentication and Kerberos to forward the credentials to the linked servers and avoid the double hop issue, that part is working fine, we already have the Constrained
delegation, SPNs and Active directory settings for the Service accounts and the authentication is working, we can connect to the linked servers without errors, it's only whe the Session get idle when we faced the issue, the citrix team already have verifyed
any timeout setting and they mentioned there is no 10 minute timout setting anywhere, we also looked at the Kerberos AD Global policy settings to see if maybe the kerberos service ticket was expiring, but the configured values are Maximum lifetime
for service ticket 600 minutes Maximum lifetime for user ticket 10 hours Maximum lifetime for user ticket renewal 7 days, if you have any other suggestion please let me know.

This Could be a double hop problem or some thing could have gone wrong with your SPN
This could also be non trusted Service Account under which your SQL Server is running

4 is not compatable with my HP simple pass identity protection using the fingertip reader. How do i make it work? IE9 works fine. Do I have to stop using FireFox??

I have a HP DV7-4165 that has Windows 7 64 bit and features the HP simple pass identity protection using the fingertip reader. My Firefox support says " If you have the Firefox browser on your computer when your HP SimplePass Identity Protection software is installed, a Firefox extension will also be installed that enables support for use of fingerprints with the Firefox browser." Once I updated to Firefox 4 it doesn't work anymore.

I have the same problem. Hopefully, those with HP Simplepass from Egistec will have relief. Here's the email I got from their customer support:

This is all being done from Boost and Boost Build and the linker errors are occurring because of the run-time use of the lightweight_test component of Boost.
There is no problem using gcc directly compiling in 64-bit mode but Solaris Studio C++ 12.4 is failing.
Any ideas why it cannot find the system linker and use it, or why it is failing with the "custom linker", whatever that is, would be appreciated. If Boost Build needs some other compiler/linker option to work I can adjust that. Maybe I need to install some library for -std=c++11 mode or maybe -std=c++11 mode dopes has some sort of bug.

It looks like you link with different -library/-std set of options compared to those that you compiled with.

This link line uses default settings, which is -library=Cstd for Studio 12.4.
And since you use Boost most likely you compile with -library=stlport4 or with -std=c++03, which implies -library=stdcpp (gcc STL).
Otherwise you would most likely get compilation failures (since -library=Cstd is a rather outdated STL).
You should use pretty much the same set of options when you compile and when you link.
Verify your build configuration (CXXFLAGS/LDFLAGS whatever).

The malware on that site cannot affect your iPad. In fact, there is no known malware capable of infecting an iPad, unless it has been jailbroken (ie, hacked to allow apps from outside the App Store). The question is, where did you come across this site?

Linking projects using URLs

I have a series of 8 projects that are each too big to be in one project (and linked together using 'Jump to slide #').
So I have published each one as an .exe file and created a unique URL for each of them. I can now use 'Open URL' to link each of these published projects.
However, this creates two problems for users:
1. Each .exe opens the 'Open File' dialog and requires that you click 'Run' and this takes a few seconds for each section which is not very seamless nor user-friendly.
2. Once the new .exe file opens, the previous .exe remains open. If you were to go through my entire module you would have 8 open .exe files to close at the end (they would all be blank since I have them currently set to 'No Action' however it would be much preferable to somehow make them close!!).
Does anyone have any ideas how to fix these two problems to make my module run smoother for my users?
One more question - my 'Main Menu' .exe has a list of each of these .exe's which links to each of them. As it is a singular slide (and has no purpose other than display the options and wait for the user to click one of the links) there is no reason for it to be timed. I would like it to remain static (so that the user does not feel rushed, or get timed out) but I don't know of any way to do this.

LOL, I chuckle when folks boldly proclaim certain options simply are non-existent.
If you click Edit > Preferences, then click the Project node on the left followed by the Start and End node at the bottom of the list, you should see an option near the bottom of the dialog labeled: Project end options. There should be a drop-down. And when you click the drop-down, are you saying that you don't have the option I do that is labeled: Close project?
Give it a look and see what you find.

Linking articles using buttons

I'm trying to link articles using buttons, so that I can quickly navigate through an app in the same way you can if you were to use a button to a specific page number in the same document I'm trying to link to a different article.
I've tried using bookmarks and hyperlinks to only fail. Any tips? What am I doing wrong?

I tried renaming the scenes to numbers to see if that was the case but it still returns the same error as before, ive checked all wordings of scenes and the AS, all of its correct. Could it be i've missed code out from somewhere? Could frame labels cause it to not work?
