Linking Menu Bar with views in the same window
Hi everyone,
I have a menu bar in a view and I would like to link each one of the elements with other view through an URL. The problem when I do this is that the view appears in a different window and I want that appears in the same window. Because if it doesn't, I'm going to have one window for each element of the menu bar :s

As per my understanding, your requriement is: (Correct me if i am wrong).
You have one default View and Window. In the View you are displaying the menu bar. Each menu bar item contails one specific URL. When user clicks on any of the menu bar item you need to open the corresponding URL in the same View.
1) Take the view set with two rows. In first row add the default MenuView (menu bar) and in second row embed another View (For example: ResultView).
2). In RestultView create IFrame UI element (Note : it is deprecated). And bind one cotext attribute to url.
Map this context attribute to MenuView also throug the Component Controller.
3). Create inbound plug to MenuView and outbound plug to ResultView. On click on any of the menubar items change the URL in the context attribute and then navigate to the ResultView through plugs.

Hi Experts,
My requirement is to open a view (say view 2) from another view (say view 1) with click of a button in a different browser, both the views are embedded into the same window, and also i have to pass some data from view1 to view2, based no the input data, i am displaying some information. Also both views belog to the same component.

See if_wd_window and if_wd_window_manager.
Call the GET_API to get a handle to window manager.
The new window can show V2.
The original Window with 2 views,
must fire plug to navigate v2 to empty view to hide it from Window1.
The to Views talk to one another via WDC Controller.
View 2 calls WDC controller methods. The WDC controller the fires Event.
View 1 can listen to this event with a method of type event handler.
View 1 can for example react to button on View 2 and close WINDOW 2.

I used the VIEW tab at the top left to change my View to "Full Screen".
Now I cannot access the VIEW tab to change it back. How do I change it back so that that Menu will show at the top of my screen??Some choices:
# F11 toggle Full Screen
# Move mouse up through the top of the screen to menu bars, if you show them
# "Alt+V" -- to bring up the View Menu

How do I display customized icons next to menu bar instead of on the same line as the URL?
Thought I already submitted this. If this is a duplicate set of details, apologies. If previous answer posted, there was no message to that effect.
In Windows 7, icons for most add-ons and for icons you can add with customization appears to the right of the menu bar. Now, in Windows 8, they are appearing to the right of the URL line.
There isn't enough room on the URL line, so I would prefer they show on the menu bar line. If this isn't possible in Windows 8, count this question as a complaint about the change. If it is possible, I couldn't findl the solution in your help or forum.NO! In Windows 7, the command icons show to the right of the line with the '''FILE''', etc. drop-down menus, the line BELOW the top line which contains the Firefox icon (see the image).
In windows 8, they show to the right of the line in which you enter a URL or a search string. There is not much vacant room on that line, so you can only fit a couple of icons.
I don't know how to say it any more clearly than this.
I want to know if it is possible to move the command icons in Windows 8 so they are in the same location as in Windows 7. If not, I'd like to know why the decision was made to do this, if deliberate, or if it was an oversight that will be fixed. -
Link needs to be open in the same window

i have one requirement,on dashboard page I have dragged three reports on dashboard page next i am selected this option "Link-with in the Dashboard" for three reports .i saved the dashboard page,on dashboard page i am getting three reports as three links(report1,report2,report3). when i click on report1 link i need to open the report in the same page and same window and below that report1 i need to show remaining two links report2,report3 links.coluld you please provide me solution for this.it is an urgent requirement for me.To the current dashboard create 3 different pages like with content as below
Page1:
Report1 with Display Results->Embedded in Section
Report2-> Link - Within the Dashboard
Report3-> Link - Within the Dashboard
Page2:
Report1-> Link - Within the Dashboard
Report2 with Display Results->Embedded in Section
Report3-> Link - Within the Dashboard

Report1-> Link - Within the Dashboard

Once you done with this hide these 3 pages using Dashboard page properties.
Come to your actual page where you want to show these 3 reports as links
Use 'Link or Image' and call each page, thats it.

I cant exit Firefox using the 'X' in the top right corner I have to right click on the thing at the bottom of the screen that shows that Firefox is open and click exit on the little thing that shows up. Please help, this gets super annoying!

Read action from a different view in the same window
Hi all,
I have a view which contains a ViewContainerUIElement and a ButtonRow. A second view with form fields is embedded in the container of the first view. Validation of the form fields in the second view depends on the button pressed in the first view. How can I determine in the second view, the name of the action that is executed in the initial view?

If you used the wizard in order to create the popup the wizard create a button "OK" that I'm guessing you change to "SAVE", you will need to create an EVENT HANDLER under your method list tab in my example my EVENT HANDLER is "SEARCH_RESULT" once the user click the "OK" button it will call SEARH_RESULT event and it will do your code inside the event.

For a long time, whenever I click on a jpeg link in one of my Yahoo groups, the image simply loads in the Firefox window or tab that I'm viewing and I can simply hit the back button to return to the page I was on before. But just recently when I click on a jpeg link, Firefox asks me where I want to download the file and I have to choose between opening another tab, using Windows Photo Viewer, or selecting another program, I believe this is unnecessary and cumbersome. I would like it if Firefox would simply show me the image I'm trying to view in the same window/tab like it used to instead asking me where to download it and/or opening up a new tab when I don't really need it.

At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button and then select Options to access the options window. Go to the Applications Panel and next to 'JPEG image' content type select to use your default application to view images. <br><br>

I have some trouble with Safari!
Everytime i google something, I expect safari to open the link i click in the same window and same tab - as it did before - but now it always opens a new tab! I'm getting really tired of that! Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit. -
The link open in the same window - Label based menu
Hi All,
I'm using Xcelsius 2008. I add a Selector Component "Selector complonenet > Label based menu". I setup 6 Lable and each one link to a URL. When clicking the label on the generated SWF report, the link opened in a new window.
So i'd like to know if the link can open in the same window (not pop-up a window and open in it)?I tried to setup it in properties, but it seems there is no way to do this.

I would like to know one thing before answring the question how did you link with an url with the label based menu.
Did you used the opendocument syntax or what did you used.
Another method is why donf you use the URL button and map according to your requirement. place the url button on the menu item and change the properties to tranperancy to 0%.

iTunes randomly stops playing purchases that have previously viewed on the same hardware. It has an error message about HD. How can this issue be resolved? What information is available besides the "learn more" option that does not deal with the problem?

9.0.115 and 9.0.124 and both fail with the policy permission error.
I also tried with and without your crossdomain.xml file but
with the same result. It looks like this file is intended for URL
policy, instead of socket policy. Recently Adobe separated the two.
When I run with the files installed on my dev PC, it does
work, which makes sense because the flash player isn't loaded from
an unknown domain.
I did get one step closer. If a crossdomain.xml in the server
root exists and the socketpolicy file is loaded from the app folder
then the first two warnings disappear. The logs now show:

UPDATE: When serving up the policy file on port 843 using the
example perl script then the socket connection seems to be accepted
and the connect succeeds. After that flex hangs trying to logon to
the IMAP server. -
i have a late 2011 macbook pro and i don't have the airplay icon on my menu. Everything is on the same network and i have a black mini apple Tv. it is either 2nd or 3rd generation. The airplay icon comes up in itunes it doesn't works with video just music. I want to mirror it on my apple tv. Will you please help me?

AirPort Express wireless connection, when I surf the news sites so I linked to **** pages. And must close the window. If I use my iPhone with Internet sharing the same computer, then I have no problem.
I believe that it is in AirPort Express, and would have to clean it. How do you do that?You need to use the Express in router mode.. I think you are trying to use it in bridge mode.. but you need to give us a lot more details.. screenshots might help more than anything.

Open a URL link in the same window as SWF file in indesign CS5

I am trying to create a SWF file using indesign CS5. I have created buttons and placed in URL links but they always open another window. I would like to know if there is a way to have the URL open in the same window that the SWF file has been created. I tried, putting "_self" to target it in the URL bar, but nothing works.

TKOkay, I found the code but I can't get it to work locally. If you have a web server maybe you can upload the files (swf and html) after you Publish them:

you have to have on the stage a link element called "testlink" (see the code above) which would be a Movie Clip with the label testlink. It can be anything from InDesign: a button, a rectangle, a circle, a graphic, you get the idea. Just select that object in Flash and label it testlink or anything you choose but if you change the name from testlink also change the name in the code snippet where the line "addEventListener" is. -
How to maintain several views of the same data and update a tree
I have an object UiUser, which is displayed in my application in several different views. There are three different views which all have the User object i.e. search results, user tree and user table. Each of the views has the same menu items, so the user can be deleted from any of the views.
What I am trying to work out is how should I ensure the item is updated in all of the views?
I can fire a property change event with the UiUser and update two of the views i.e. search results and user table, but how do I update the tree?
I thought of overiding the equals/hashcode methods of the UserTreeNode to compare uiUser.getId () and I could then search the tree and find the tree node of the required UiUser. But I have reservations about this whole approach as it just seems wrong.
Any ideas of how to keep N views in sync, I really don't want all of the views to have tree nodes as this equally seems wrong. This should be a simple problem to solve and I'm sure lots of people have done it, I'm just not sure which is the best approach to take.

This is so because each installer has a GUID that is used to check whether the application needs to be upgraded or not. (It's a Microsoft function).
What you can do is create a new installer with a different GUID (copy the installer in the projects), and check witha text editor whether this GUID has changed.
But any specific reason you need two seperate installs? You can run the application twice with a specific INI token:
