List of security scans in EarlyWatch

Is it possible to see tech details for all security checks performed by Solution Manager?   For example, EWA may list a problem with Spool security, indicating that a large# of people can view another's spool requests.  Are these checks contained in a library or table somewhere?   I'd like to see all possible checks, and the details of the scan criteria.

I think my question was misunderstood.  I gave the example of Spool authorizations as an example, it's not my question.   ST14 is not the repository of checks performed by Solution Manager (if it is... can someone explain how EWA uses it?).   I am hoping to find the scan criteria used by EWA when it checks for security issues.   If these scans are not configurable, that's ok.  But I'd like to know if the checks themselves are accessible in some way.
Can this be moved back into Security, or maybe Solution Manager forum?

  • What's listening on port 454 and 455 in Azure? Warning flagged by security scan

We are about to go live with an Azure Website and, as a precaution, did a security scan on the IP address that has been allocated to us.
There were a number of low severity warnings listed which we're not too worried about, however the scan did flag that something appears to be listening on port 454 and 455, and supports TLS1.0.
    RESULTS:
Available non CBC cipher Server's choice SSL version
    RC4-SHA DES-CBC3-SHA TLSv1
Does anyone know what this is? I can't find it obviously listed anywhere. If it's not necessary, can I switch it off? And if it is necessary, can I set it to require a more secure protocol?
We're hosted in the "Australia East" datacentre, in case that's relevant.

    Hello Michael,
These ports are used for internal communication in Azure Websites infrastructure. They are not site specific and you cannot turn them off. It is safe to ignore them.

  • Why won't my security scan allow me to download creative cloud?

Why won't my windows 8 allow my download to pass the security scan?

At a guess (you don't list the error), what maybe happening is that you have booted from the original OS install disc, told it to install the (old) original OS on to the hard disk and it has said - no thanks you cannot install an older version because it already has a newer version installed.
This is 'normal', what you have to do is totally erase the hard disk first. You do this by booting from the original OS install disc, but rather than trying to do an install straight away, you should first use Disk Utility and use that to erase the hard disk. Then you can run the install again and because the hard disk will be empty it will not have a newer OS on it and the installer will be happy.
Obviously this means any files you have on the hard disk will be erase as well. If you want to keep them you are going to need to back them up first, the easiest way would be to use Time Machine to backup to an external hard disk.

  • Getting rid of McAfee Security Scan

This unwanted product was downloaded with latest version of Flash Player (3.8.141). The McAfee download does not included uninstall.exe, so I cannot uninstall it. I have already wasted hours on this. Will you please send me an uninstall.exe. Don't tell me to uninstall using the Windows 7 Contriol Panel - McAfee Security Scan is not even listed there!

They at least need the check box to give the option to install or not install. I want Flash Player not a bunch of garbage attached to it.

  • Removing McaFee Security scan plus

You snuck in McAfee security scan plus in with flash player update. How do I get rid of it, it doe not want to uninstall! I wanted the flash player update because I got tired of being hassled about it, I did not want this other JUNK! Keep your products separate from others.

    Visually:
    Start>Control Panel
    Programs and Features>Uninstall a Program
Uninstall McAfe Security Scan from the list and Close the Control Panel.
Registry Editor (Press the Windows key + R and type "regedit" then click OK)
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software
Delete the McAfee folder by right clicking and choosing delete
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE
Delete the McAfee folder by right clicking and choosing delete.
THAT will completely remove McAfee Security Scan from your system. You should reboot after ANY registry changes.

  • Security scans of applications

We are using FormsCentral for an application for a New York State program.  The state would like to run security scans on the form.  Who can we speak to to give the list of scans that they would like to run?

New York State IT would like to run the following actions on a form that we want to open for people to fill out for a New York State program.
They will be using a web vulnerability scanner:
    -Transport Support (Http,https)
    -XSS Vulnerabilities
    -4 Concurrent Connections
    -proper behavior of cookies
They say this is very basic scanning.  They will not be trying to overload the system with a crawl or attack.

  • McAfee Security Scan not wanted

I just updated Flash Player to Version 179....I didn't see any reference to McAfee Security Scan being part of the update as I was going through the steps...Usually, there's a screen asking if the user wants some additional 'something'; giving the option to say 'No'.....I don't want McAfee Security Scan....I ran the McAfee Security Scan Uninstall found in my Program Files list...But---In my Program Data list, there's still McAfee items....
Can I just simply 'delete' .....???......
Did I miss seeing the option for include McAfee or did Adobe include this without asking this time....???
Thank you in advance for help on this...

I agree with the OP.  I never agreed to have McAfee Security Scan installed on my system and don't appreciate the fact that Adobe puts that junk on my computer without asking.  There are threads with people complaining about this that are over FOUR YEARS OLD!  Cut the crap!

  • Issues with FMSEdge process while security scan in progress

We have recently deployed Flash Media Streaming server 3.5.2 and Flash Media Encoder on a Windows 2003 machine. We are able to capture live streaming and the regular streaming of recorded video’s without any issues.
We are encountering an issue with one of the FMS’s process’s whenever a security scan is performed on the machine, during the security scan process one of the process’s for FMS called FMSEdge.exe creeps all the way up to 100% CPU utilization. This is causing problems with security scan not completing.
Have any of you experienced this kind of problem? Could you please let us know if there is solution to this issue.

  • Security scans on DBMS server still show Java vulnerabilities after applying JavaVM Component patch 20233168

JavaVM Component patch 19618575 was applied to our Oracle 11.2.0.3 DBMS Windows 8 server and a security scan was done showing no vulnerabilities.
However, patch 19618575 was rolled back by Bundle Patch 34 (20227195) and Oracle released another JavaVM Component patch 20227195.  We applied the new JavaVM patch successfully and the System Admin did the security scan which showed there was still a vulnerability for the JavaVM Component.
Is anyone else having this problem.

    Richard,
I have just applied patch to upgrade from Portal 3.0.9 to 3.0.9.8.1 (Patch applied to loginserver and portal schema) and the External Applications that were previously set up have gone from the portlet.
Does this relate to your note at the bottom:
"Minor issues with Bulk action. 1840420 CUSTOM WRITTEN EXTERNAL AUTH MODULE NEED TO BE UPDATED AFTER 3.0.9 UPGRADE SSOXOID.PKB DOESN'T LOAD.
External authentication modules that were written before 3.0.9 need to be updated after upgrading to 3.0.9. ssoauthx.pks is updated in 3.0.9 and contains additional routines that need to be implemented." ??
If I go to the "Login Server Administration" portlet and select the link "Administer External Applications" I get a list of 5 External Applications that have previously been set up.
If I go back to the Home Page and select "customize" on the "External Applications" portlet I get the message "Your Login Server administrator has not registered any external applications".
Does that mean I should just run 'ssoauthx.pks' & 'ssoxoid.pkb' or do I need to do something else ??
    Thanks
    Simo

  • Security scan

We're running JRun4 Updater 6 and just had a security scan on
our system that lists a Macromedia JRun Oversized URI Buffer
Overflow Vulnerability and recommends the mpsb02-12 patch dated
    back to 2002.
Doesn't Updater 6 have all cumululative security patches
    which should cover this vulnerability?

  • I opened the attachment on a malicious email in error on my IPad and have been informed by the genuine company that it will download malware software. Is this possible on my IPad or is there a way of running a security scan to see if it has been infected?

I received an email that I now know to be malicious and inadvertently opened up the attachment on my IPad that I've been informed will download malware or a virus. Can my IPad be infected this way or does anyone know if there is a way of running a security scan to check if there is a problem? I do have the most up to date IOS software installed.

There is no anti-malware for iOS, at least none that actually does anything useful. The odds of getting any malware infection via an email attachment on an iOS device is quite low - practically non-existent. Unless you are seeing any issues, there isn't much to do, other than deleting the email and being more cautious in the future.

  • How do I run a security scan on my macbook pro?

How do I run a security scan on my macbook pro?

If you have only Mac OSX running  you don't need to run any security scan.
If any major security risk exists Apple offers Security Updates.
Just don't  install any applications not needed,
If you run Windows that is a different story.

There is no virus or malware in the wild that can affect an iPad, unless it has
been jailbroken. If that is the case in your situation, Terms of Use for the forum prohibit

  • Flashing "Running Security Scan..."

On Windows 7, 64-bit, MS Office 2010; when I try to launch an online software that integrates a fillable-form into my Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard, at the bottom of my IE9 screen, flashing nearly 2 times per second, I see messages that say:  "Running Security Scan...".  I have to quite IE and force Adobe Acrobat to quit to stop it.  How can I fix this so that I can properly run the software?  (It works okay on my old slow XP, 32-bit coomputer, Office 2007, but the manufactureres say it is not an Office 2010 problem, nor Windows 7, 64-bit).  Also, this happens whether or not my Trend Micro Anti-virus software is running.

  • 802.1x and Security scanning

    Hello,
Is it possible for our security team to security scan all hosts on the network if they are using 802.1x authentication? I am trying to ensure that we can meet security scanning requirements and still use the 802.1x port-based authentication function. If not the other alternative is to use port security for end hosts. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

If you are using open mode, you could put in a permit rule in the pre-auth acl on the switch port, that allows all traffic going to your scanners ip adress. Traffic from the scanner to the device on the switch port is not restricted normally.
