ListBox with DataBase table
Hi, i need to do a ModulPool application.
I have a DB table with code and description.
My question is: Is there any way to associate that DB table to a ListBox control, so this control show the possible descriptions??

Declare the parameter as follows:
parameter: matnr like mara-matnr as listbox.
then in the POH event call the FM 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST ' for input help.

But when I try to bind table component with my remote postgresql database table, yes...the table component disappear and only a "Table" string is displayed....this error is because I use remote database?? Difficulty with database table activesync
I am using a oracle table as trusted source, also need to create LDAP account automatically through IDM. Now I can't even get IDM user created. It shows missing status in the account index. Doesn't the default active sync wizard can't deal with basic user creation in IDM?
I have read a few post here, then I tried 2 things.
First, customized a form for active sync by add something for accountId, password, roles...:

Second, I used reconciliation rule to confirm user if the situation was "missing", this time the IDM user get created. (But I don't want run both activesync and reconciliation).
Then I add role in a form to set first name, last name, apssword, email and creat LDAP account: (reconciliation proxy admin set to self defined admin user)

Can any one explain these weird IDM thing? Sun IDM is so difficult to start. I prefer a solution for active sync to resolve all these. I have see many people post similar qestions. Can any one kindly provide a full form solution. I am using IDM version 6.

Rebate related issue with database table VKDFS & VBAK
Hi everybody,
I am facing the problem with the tables VKDFS and VBAK.
In my program the report has to display the details of the agrement numbers concerning to the sale or billing doucmnets later on it has to create a credit memo for that particular customer.
In the coding the program in very beging step, it is fetching all sales documents from VKDFS as per selections like following.
select * from vkdfs into table ivkdfs
where fktyp in r_fktyp
and vkorg in s_vkorg
and fkdat in s_fkdat
and kunnr in s_kunnr
and fkart in s_fkart
and vbeln in s_vbeln
and faksk in s_faksk
and vtweg in s_vtweg
and spart in s_spart
and netwr in s_netwr
and waerk in s_waerk.
After this whatever the sales orders fetched here, for those all again its fetching from VBAK table as following.
SVBAK[] = IVKDFS[]
select * from vbak into table ivbak
for all entries in svbak
where vbeln = svbak-vbeln
and knuma in s_knuma
and auart in s_auart
and submi in s_submi
and (vbak_wtab).
So, its filtering from VBAK.
But the exact issue is that, there is one sales order which is available in VBAK but does not available in VKDFS table.
So, my program fails to display the report regarding to that agreement number.
As per my analysis I came to know that there are no entries in VKDFS table against to the sales orders in VBAK concerning agreement numbers.
VKDFS-SD index: billing initiator table.

Reconciliation with Database Table
Hi all,
Has anyone here tried creating Database Table resources and reconciling accounts off the data from the database? The reconciliation seems to be maxing out CPU on our Dev environment and we're not sure where the issue may lie. Our hardware is quite beefy too.

BI Administration - Synchronize with Database Table
Hi,
I have added 2 new columns in the Database and I want to synchronize them with the Physical Layer in BI Model.
How can I do this without affecting any relationships?
ThanksOpen the Administration tool and in the physical layer, for the physical table changed, you have to create a new column with the same name/datatype of the column you have added on the database.
as double check, click on the property "View Data" of the column just added.

Issue with Database table adapter
Hi,
Iam working on OIM 9.1.0.1
I login as an end user & self request the DB table which is configured.
User can assign & the xelsysadm approves ..
The approval task is completed as seen in the End User page. In the Task Assignment History -->Task status is Pending
Can anyone help me out on this issue.

Database table with potentially millions of records
Hello,
We want to keep track of user's transaction history from the performance database. The workload statistics contain the user transaction history information, however since the workload performance statistics are intended for temporary purposes and data from these tables are deleted every few months, we loose all the user's historical records.
We want to keep track of the following in a table that we can query later:
User ID - Length 12
Transaction - Length 20
Date - Length 8
With over 20,000 end users in production this can translate into thousands of records to be inserted into this table daily.
What is the best way to store this type of information? Is there a specific table type that is designed for storing massive data quantity? Also, over time (few years) this table can grow into millions or hundreds of millions of records. How can we manage that in terms of performance and storage space?
If anyone has worked with database tables with very large amounts of records, and would like to share your experiences, please let us know how we could/should structure this function in our environment.

Alternatively, you can use a <u>cluster table</u>. For more help refer to F1 help on <b>"IMPORT TO / EXPORT FROM DATABASE"</b> statements.
Or you can store data as a <u>file</u> on the application server using <b>"OPEN DATASET, TRANSFER, CLOSE DATASET"</b> statements.
You can also select to archieve data of older than some definite date.
You can also mix your alternatives for the recent and archieve data.

Populating JSF ListBox from DataBase
Hi,
im new to JSF and i have a problem populating Listboxes with database values.
i have 3 listboxes and the 3 are populated from tables in my database.
I would like to filter the returned(from database) values in the 2nd listbox depending on the value selected in the 1st listox.
I dont know how to do this.
BTW i'm usis Ibatis Abator to map the database.

1. Have the list box show values from a database table.
2. Have the user make selections. Should the user return to that page later in the session, have the previous selection still selected.
Normally, you would bind the listbox to the database table, as is shown in http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/learning/tutorials/2/databoundcomponents.html. The only reason I can think of for not binding directly to the database table is if there is a possiblity that the database table can change (additions, updates, deletes) during the user's session.
Are you able to emulate the above tutorial using the Postgress database? It might be good to pinpoint whether the problem is with the Postgress driver or with the code you are writing.
By the way, if you use a data provider to access the database, as shown in the tutorial, here is how you iterate through the data

Saving session state in database table rather in websever for Ordering App
Hi all,
Ours is a ordering application (telecomm) domain.
Currently, we are storing user sessions data (Order shopping cart session data) in middle tier (iPlanet web server) which inturn consumes lot of memory resources.
Shopping cart could be in MBs if order is a huge business order.
So in order to not to overtax web server (middle tier), we are thinking of storing session data directly in a database table to relieve the overhead on web server and make use of database for storage.
I read that APEX (html db) is already using this "single metadata table" approach for session data management. But we are not using HTML DB to really look into.
Can some one advise how to go about storing "user session data" directly in a "database table" for both storage and retrieval purposes instead of storing it in "webserver".
How does this "metadata table" structure looks like. Is it more generic ?

To build this is an utterly non-trivial exercise. Oh - it may not be so hard to save session state to a table when you POST a page. But you may want to reference this in many places, and it's a question of can you change all of these references to indirect references from session state in your application.In order to free up the load on webserver, we want to maintain session management in database. Could you please explain the above little more :
How do we maintain the "user session" with "database table" ?
Do we need to store "session data" at java object level or by page in database table ? How does the structure of this "metadata table" looks like.

Japanese and English together in database table?
Hi all, on to my next challenge... ;-)
I'm wondering if there are any issues with database tables that contain both Japanese and English (Roman) characters. I'm in the process of establishing an online language-learning site that will target (mostly) customers in Japan. As part of the registration process, I need to collect names in kanji (Japanese characters) along with other information in roman script (email, username, password, etc.).
Right now I have these fields set to utf8_unicode_ci collation. Is this correct? Am I confusing character set with collation? I doubt very many of you have experience in this area, but if you do I'd love to hear from you.

I don´t know if my answer is of help in your particular situation -- however, I once made a CMS with ADDT where form pages had to contain both english & russian input fields, I succeeded having them display the respective chars differently this way:
1. setting the page´s "content-type" to UTF-8
2. no need to apply something to the "english" aka roman form fields, but...
3. adding the following bold stuff to the "value" of a russian field, example for PHP:
" size="100" maxlength="240" />
I actually didn´t define any "collation" for the MySQL database, so I can´t say something about that.

how to select a record from data-base table for current month in module-pool, i.e if current month is august then records selected should between 1/08/10 to 31/08/10.
And, i also want to select records for last month i.e if current month is august then records selected should be between 1/07/10 to 31/07/10.
And one thing more, it should work for every scenario. Like for months are changing then it should work according to that.
Example: If month changes to October then current month ll be October and last month ll become September.

You can use the option <b>ORDER BY </b> in your SELECT clause.

main diffarence is TIME CONSTRAINT, means validity period of data records in infotypes based on time constrint only.

its database table: pa0002.
the table pa0002 contains four strctures pakey, pshd1, ps0002 and ci_p0002.
pakey-->contains key fields information.
psdh1--->contains last logon detils (usename....)
ps0002--->contains infotype specific fields.
ci_p0002--> for furthur addinf an any extra fields

There are 4 types.
Database View (SE11)
Database views are implement an inner join, that is, only records of the primary table (selected via the join operation) for which the corresponding records of the secondary tables also exist are fetched. Inconsistencies between primary and secondary table could, therefore, lead to a reduced selection set.
In database views, the join conditions can be formulated using equality relationships between any base fields. In the other types of view, they must be taken from existing foreign keys. That is, tables can only be collected in a maintenance or help view if they are linked to one another via foreign keys.
- Help View ( SE54)
Help views are used to output additional information when the online help system is called.
When the F4 button is pressed for a screen field, a check is first made on whether a matchcode is defined for this field. If this is not the case, the help view is displayed in which the check table of the field is the primary table. Thus, for each table no more than one help view can be created, that is, a table can only be primary table in at most one help view.
- Projection View
Projection views are used to suppress or mask certain fields in a table (projection), thus minimizing the number of interfaces. This means that only the data that is actually required is exchanged when the database is accessed.
A projection view can draw upon only one table. Selection conditions cannot be specified for projection views.
- Maintenance View ( SE54 )
Maintenance views enable a business-oriented approach to looking at data, while at the same time, making it possible to maintain the data involved. Data from several tables can be summarized in a maintenance view and maintained collectively via this view. That is, the data is entered via the view and then distributed to the underlying tables by the system.

1) Many to One Relationship.
2) Table in the Dictionary has the different name, different number of fields, and the fields have the different name as in the R3 Table definition.
3) It can hold only pooled tables.
cluster Tables:
1) These are logical tables that are arranged as records of transparent tables.
2) One cannot use Native SQL on these tables (only Open SQL).
3) They are not manageable directly using database system tools.
These two table are used to store system data and onother for configural data.
if u want to fetch the data from DB table u need to go for trasperent tables only.
Bcoz transperent tables are one - one relation.

INTERNAL TABLES
There are 3 types of Internal tables.
Standard Internal Tables:
Standard tables have a linear index. You can access them using either the index or the key. If you use the key, the response time is in linear relationship to the number of table entries. The key of a standard table is always non-unique, and you may not include any specification for the uniqueness in the table definition.
This table type is particularly appropriate if you want to address individual table entries using the index. This is the quickest way to access table entries. To fill a standard table, append lines using the (APPEND) statement. You should read, modify and delete lines by referring to the index (INDEX option with the relevant ABAP command). The response time for accessing a standard table is in linear relation to the number of table entries. If you need to use key access, standard tables are appropriate if you can fill and process the table in separate steps. For example, you can fill a standard table by appending records and then sort it. If you then use key access with the binary search option (BINARY), the response time is in logarithmic relation to the number of table entries.
Sorted Internal Tables:
Sorted tables are always saved correctly sorted by key. They also have a linear key, and, like standard tables, you can access them using either the table index or the key. When you use the key, the response time is in logarithmic relationship to the number of table entries, since the system uses a binary search. The key of a sorted table can be either unique, or non-unique, and you must specify either UNIQUE or NON-UNIQUE in the table definition. Standard tables and sorted tables both belong to the generic group index tables.
This table type is particularly suitable if you want the table to be sorted while you are still adding entries to it. You fill the table using the (INSERT) statement, according to the sort sequence defined in the table key. Table entries that do not fit are recognised before they are inserted. The response time for access using the key is in logarithmic relation to the number of table entries, since the system automatically uses a binary search. Sorted tables are appropriate for partially sequential processing in a LOOP, as long as the WHERE condition contains the beginning of the table key.
Hashed Internal Tables:
Hashes tables have no internal linear index. You can only access hashed tables by specifying the key. The response time is constant, regardless of the number of table entries, since the search uses a hash algorithm. The key of a hashed table must be unique, and you must specify UNIQUE in the table definition.
This table type is particularly suitable if you want mainly to use key access for table entries. You cannot access hashed tables using the index. When you use key access, the response time remains constant, regardless of the number of table entries. As with database tables, the key of a hashed table is always unique. Hashed tables are therefore a useful way of constructing and
using internal tables that are similar to database tables.

I created a JDBC connection with the Oracle database (HR schema) using JDeveloper(10.1.3) and then I created an offline database (HR schema)
in JDeveloper from the existing database tables (HR schema). Then I made some updates to the JOBS database table using SQL*Plus.
Then I returned to the JDeveloper tool and refreshed the HR connection. But I found no any changes made to the offline database table JOBS in
JDeveloper.
How to make the JDeveloper's offline tables to be synchronized with the underling database tables?qkc,
Once you create an offline table, it's just a copy of a table definition as of the point in time you brought it in from the database. Refreshing the connection, as you describe it, just refreshes the database browser, and not any offline objects. If you want to syncrhnonize the offline table, right-click the offline table and choose "Generate or Reconcile Objects" to reconcile the object to the database. I just tried this in 10.1.3.3 (not the latest 10.1.3, I know), and it works properly.
