Listener file error
Hi ,
How can we solve the issue if an error as below is shown when the listener is started.,
TNS-12541: TNS:no listener
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
TNS-00511: No listener
I know that we can do a try with the ip instead of host in the listener file , if this doesn't solve the problem, what should be done,
Could someone point me the details to solve the issue.
Any help will be really usefull.

When i give the command LSNRCTL STATUS,

I am trying to add a new listener entry into the exisitng listener file for a db which is on some network machine. The listener file is for 9idb on a linux box. I am tryin to create a listener for the network db since i cannot directly connect to that network machine however i can connect very well through the linux server on which 9idb is present.

I've checked for the ip, port and the sid and they all are correct.

Listener failed to start. See the error message(s) above...Are you trying to start a separate listener on the same port on the same box? Two processes can't run on the same box on the same port. If you are trying to add another DB to the existing listener you can add it to the sid_list portion of the listener.ora file.

TCP Listener returned error on accept = AFP blows up. Need help
Environment: 10.6.7 Server. Xserver. All Mac clients. It's a school. Problem: AFP refusing connections or not loading the Home Directory Symptoms: Library/Logs/AppleFileService/AppleFileServiceError.log blown out with "TCP Listener returned error on accept" happening every second.
I cannot figure this out. The server has not been updated recently. -checkhostname returns no error. There have been some new iMacs (10.6.8) connected recently. I have read this might be MaxThreads; or corrupt .DS files, but I am really struggling. Please - any clues at all? I can't keep rebooting every day. The listener tries to establish communications to the client, using the IP address it gets from listener.ora or by calling nslookup.

IPOD freezes while SYNCING - and then gets file error
Hello all,
i have a standard 40gb click wheel ipod, quite old, it works, but limited. The ipod just freezes while syncing now, it has been restored numerous times, but 2 not much avail, i can get one or two albums on there, then everytime i try and sync the ipod just freezes, and has to be reset. Every TIme i plug the ipod into my vista laptop it says, the says. SCAN AND FIX, ( because i couldnt get anything else to work i tried this ) and this is what vista told me

i was like woah, so i proceded to restore the ipod then it seemed to work, for a day. then went back to the freezing while syncing, then next time i plugged in the ipod, windows said the disk needs to be formated before it could be used, so i tried that ( cos itunes was doing sweet **** ALL ) and windows couldnt format it, and neither cos HP USB FORMAT Tool. so i reset the ipod, plug it back into vista, and behold, SCAN AND FIX COMES UP, so i click it, it fixes it, but only loads 1 album before it freezes while syncing again, i have the screenshots,it took 11 screenshots, to get the FULL MESSAGE, that vista chkdsk gave me, there was thousands of these "BAD LINKS IN LOST CHAIN at CLUSTER XXXXX Corrected" messages
im currently listening to Three Days Grace on the ipod, works GREAT, except if i try and put more then this ONE album on it, it freezes while syncing, and gives me the unknown file error. SO any ideas if this ipod can be fixed, cos itunes cant do anything, im assuming there is physical unrepairable damage to the HDD of the ipod and will need replacing if this ipod wants to be in full working order again.
The ipod is NOT under warranty either, so does any1 know where in Australia, it be fitted with a new HDD? Thanks

I am facing problem in production environment. I am using Weblogic 8.1 SP4 application.
Weblogic Server automatically switch over every 3 weeks due to few reasons.
1. out of memorry error.
2. Too many open files error.

save/compress/send the results?
Are there any errors printed in the Apache error_log while this leak occurs?
The customer could/should re-check their TCP settings, especially the TCP time wait interval and generally follow the TCP settings recommended in Chapter 5 of the iAS Performance Guide for 9.0.2.
Is there anything else interesting/unusual about the site?

I recently installed the Latest OEL 5 and have configured necessary settings to stage the U01 and Stage folder. I successfully install the Oracle systems from /stage/db11g/db/Disk1. I started to create a LISTENER file from the NETCA tool. It was successfully created but i got an error stating that: "Listener start failed. Listener may already be running"
when i check the status i got the following error message (lsnrctl status):

My standard list of things to do first...
Run MacJanitor (free download) to do all the Unix Cron Maintenance scripts.
Run Disk Utility (Applications -> Utilities) and repair disk permissions on your start up drive (typically your internal drive). Also verify any other drives mounted on the system.
Run Preferential Treatment (free download) to check for corrupt/damaged application and system preference files.
Run Cache Out X (free download) to clear all system and application caches.
Reboot your Mac.
If you still can not get it to run correctly, next thing to try is to throw out the iDVD preference file (don't forget to change back those preferences you want different from the defaults next time you run it). If it still doesn't work, then I would suggest you reinstall iDVD.

Crystal Server 2013: How to troubleshoot "Can not create temp file---- Error code:-2147215357"
We have a Java7 web app, which generate PDF report by calling Crystal Server 2013 SP4.
The app is being deployed on many different servers. We sometimes got the error below when generating report:

Problem is, this seems to be a pretty generic exception. It could be caused by many different reasons.
e.g. network connection problem, wrong DB login, wrong folder path, lack of folder access right, etc.
Each time we could only guess what's wrong.
We are running into it again, and this time everything seems correctly configured so far.
We wonder if there are more info we can get to troubleshoot? For example, any log file of Crystal Server we should look into? Or does Crystal Server has debug mode which prints more details to tell us what goes wrong?Prithviraj Shekhawat wrote:

The same report works well with the "Crystal Reports Viewers API", as used in Infoview, but not with the "Report Application Server (RAS) API".
This error appears after some time working on a report. If we reproduce the same report, but from zero, no problem.
