Load UIImage from URL / NSXMLParser / NSData 0x0 / UIImage

Question

Hi,
My method shown below does not load the Image. If I am setting some URLs hardcoded it is loading the image. But if the linkString is coming from my NSXMLParser, it does not work, even if it is the same link.
<FOREGROUNDIMAGE>http://www.inf.fu-berlin.de/lehre/WS02/multimedia/gif/Slime.png</FOREGROUNDIMAGE>
- (void) setForegroundImage:(NSString *)linkString{
NSData* imageData = [[NSData alloc]initWithContentsOfURL:[NSURL URLWithString:linkString]];
UIImage* image = [[UIImage alloc] initWithData:imageData];
[foregroundImageView setImage:image];
[imageData release];
[image release];
if am checking my code with a breakpoint, the linkString is the link from my XML
PLUS something like this:
                     and then, my NSData is 0x0 - so, not loading the image.

thanks, I had the same idea.. but it is - in my opinion - not a good solution. today its      , tomorrow someting else..
this worked:
linkString = [linkString stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@"
" withString:@""];
linkString = [linkString stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@" " withString:@""];
linkString = [linkString stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@"     " withString:@""];
but where is       coming from? my xml just has it set that way
