Loading characteristic from attribute 0NAME
Hi friends
Firstly, thanks a lot to everybody for taking some minutes to revised this question.
I've got a problem when I load a characteristic from an attribute.
The situation is describe following.
I've got two infocubes. In the first one I have the characteristic 0CUSTOMER. Inside of it, I've defined 0NAME as attribute.
I connect this infocube with the second one using an update rule. In the second infocube 0NAME is defined as a characteristic inside a dimension. So, in the update rule I populate 0NAME using "Master data attribute of Customer".
The problem is that when i visualize the infoobject 0CUSTOMER i see the number and the text, but when i load the second infocube the 0NAME text is empty.
I've checked the rule several times and I don't find where is the error.
Does anybody have an idea of what is happening?

Hi Francis,
Marco was correct in his statement. There is a difference between the attributes stored in an Infoobject and an attribute stored in an infocube. In an infocube no attribute is stored. All that is stored is a SID (more precisely a dimid refering to a sid), not the attribute. So you if you do a "MD attribute of" the BW will try to find a SID. If it does not find a SID, it will not fill the field.
To find a SID you have to fill "0NAME" with all possible Strings to load. This does not sound feasible to me. What I wonder is, why you have "0name" in the Infocube. If it is an attribute of 0CUSTOMER, you should avoid 0NAME as entry in the infocube and use the attribute of 0CUSTOMER instead. I don't think you will ever do a search via 0NAME in the Infocube, therefore it is not needed.

1st) activate your object as data target and do the assignment in the transfer or update rules.

2) create a generic datasource on the p-table of your object and assign that datasource as text datasource to your object.

For this P table will be like this

In RSO2 tcode Generic datasources create datasource based on this table .

6. Now double click on UG_BW_RSA1-Administrator Workbench
2. Creation of Info Area
1. Click on InfoObjects.
2. Now in the right hand side screen select the InfoObjects (First item on the top). Right click the mouse and select Create InfoArea.
3. A dialog box pops up.
4. Give the InfoArea as ZIVY_Iarea.
5. Give the Long Description as ZIVY Info Area.
3. Create a Catalog:
1. Select the InfoArea just created ZIVY_Iarea.
2. Right click the mouse pointer and select the option Create InfoObject Catalog

i. Description = ZIVY Character Catalog

3. In the right hand segment, select InfoSources.
4. Select the application component you created ZIVY_APPCOMP alias ZIVY Application Component.
5. Right click the mouse pointer and select the entry Create InfoSource

i. Select the Direct Update of Master Data
ii. InfoObject : ZIVY_SPER
iii. Click the CHECK MARK.

Load master data attributes of 0BBP_VENDOR and 0GN_VENDOR in SRM
HI ,
We are in BI Content version 7.04 recently migrated .
I was told to load the attributes of 0BBP_VENDOR and 0GN_VENDOR.But when i collect them in BI content with dataflow before ,i could see only the infoobjects, update rules for 0gn vendor and only info object for 0bbpvendor.
So what could the reason for this or am i missing anything in installing? Please help me with all you inputs and suggestions.0BBP_VENDOR is a Reference Characteristic to 0BPARTNER so it won't have dataflow by itself... Once data is loaded into 0BPARTNER, it will have it too...
0GN_VENDOR is different, that's why you see update rules for it... It loads data from 0VENDOR, if I'm not mistaken... -
ERROR : "Exceptions in Substep: Rules" while loading data from DSO to CUBE
Hi All,
I have a scenario like this.
I was loading data from ODS to cube daily. everything was working fine till 2 days before. i added some characteristic fields in my cube while i didn't do any change in my key figures. now i started reloading of data from ODS to cubes. i got the following error "Exceptions in Substep: Rules" after some package of data loaded successfully.
I deleted the added fields from the infocube and then i tried toreload data again but i am facing the same error again "Exceptions in Substep: Rules".
Can any one tell me how to come out from this situation ?

While loading Attribute master data to Masterdata tables, the data is loaded successfully to PSA but when I clicked process manually tab in the monitor screen to load the Attribute master data to Masterdata tables it is showing error.

If it is a SAP BI 7 data flow, in order to load data from PSA to the InfoObject master data tables, you have to run the corresponding DTP.
On the other hand, if it is a SAP BW 3.x data flow, the InfoPackage should be configured so as to update data to subsequent targets (that is to say, the InfoObject).
Finally, take into account that if the DataSource provides duplicate records, the DTP or the InfoPackage (depending on the dataflow version) should be configured in order to deal with it. Otherwise, you could receive error messages during data load.

A caller 01, 02 or equal to or greater than 20 contains an error meesage This is an Idoc error. Please check the Idocs :
1) SM37 job log (In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load) (give request name) and it should give you the details about the request. If its active make sure that the job log is getting updated at frequent intervals.
Also see if there is any 'sysfail' for any datapacket in SM37.
2) SM66 get the job details (server name PID etc from SM37) and see in SM66 if the job is running or not. (In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load). See if its accessing/updating some tables or is not doing anything at all.
3) RSMO see what is available in details tab. It may be in update rules.
4) ST22 check if any short dump has occured.(In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load)
5) Check in SM58 and BD87 for pending tRFCs and IDOCS.
Once you identify you can rectify the error.
If all the records are in PSA you can pull it from the PSA to target. Else you may have to pull it again from source infoprovider.
If its running and if you are able to see it active in SM66 you can wait for some time to let it finish. You can also try SM50 / SM51 to see what is happening in the system level like reading/inserting tables etc.
If you feel its active and running you can verify by checking if the number of records has increased in the data tables.
SM21 - System log can also be helpful.

Where to set lock while loading master data attributes
Hello Experts,
I have two different datasources from ECC which loads into 0CUST_SALES attributes. I'm using two different DTP & transformation which are loading data in the this infoobject attributes.
When i try to load data, the DTP fails with an error message at "Updating attributes for InfoObject 0CUST_SALES Processing Terminated" & the job log says: "Lock NOT set for: Loading master data attributes".
Here what exactly LOCK means?

The lock means that some program is updating the master data (a table) and at the same time other program can not update that same master data. When the first program completes the updation it will release the lock so that the other program can update this.
In your case you and schedule the DTP one after another.

Help needed in loading data from BW(200) to APO(100).
Hi everybody,
I am trying to load a master data from BW(200) to AP1(100) , this is what i did.
1) created a InfoObject, with some fields (general-ebeln, Attributes- bukrs, werks,matnr).
2) created and activated communication structure.
3) Then went to BW(200) created data source(sbiw) and extracted datas from a particular info object, which had same fields and saved it, then went to RSA3 checked for data availability in data source , and it was available there too.
4) Came back to AP1(100), in the source system tab, opened BW(200) and replicated the datas. I was able to see the Data source name which is created in BW(200).
5) Create and activated the Transfer struct.
6) created a info package, and loaded the data, but the monitor says " NOT YET COMPLEATED" , "CURRENTLY IN PROCESS". and it also shows "0 of 0 RECORDS".
I want to know,
1) Is there any mistake in what i have done above ?
2) how long will it take to complete the process (i.e. the loading) ?.

I am surprised with your steps. In APO, you want to load data from a particular infoobject from BW. Why did you create a specific extractor in SBIW???
You have just reinvented the wheel... It reminds me some people in the world ...
Here is what you should do:
- in BW, at the infosource level, you create a direct infosource based on the infoobject that you want to extract the data to APO (let's say 0MATERIAL)
- in BW, at the infosource level, you right click on the infosource itself and you choose 'GENERATE EXPORT DATASOURCE. That will create the datasources for you (attributes, texts, hierarchies) depending on the infoobject settings. The names of these datasources will begin with a 8 for the datamart
- in APO, you replicate the BW system. Now you find the datasources 80MATERIAL something
- in APO, you create the transfer rules to your infosource and you can load

We are having an issue of getting short dump while loading data from DB Connect to BW. We were able to load the data into BW Dev using the same data source without any problem. Whereas in Production, I am getting the following error:

How to load data from info object to ODS
Hello BW Gurus,
Is their any way to load data from info object to ODS and I am unable to fine the Info source for that particulate info object master data.
For ex: we have 0PROFITCENTER as info object which is getting loaded everyday. We want same data in ODS too but I don't find any info source related to this info object to create update ruled.
Please advise me how to proceed with this,

as mentioned, if you just need the master data text or attribute update, then it's sufficient to load 0PROFITCENTER master data. (don't forget to 'apply hierarchy/attribute change' - rsa1->tools)
if you are going to update attribute in ods with attribute from 0PROFITCENTER, you can choose look up master data attribute method in update rules.
if the requirement is really need 0PROFITCENTER to assign to update rules, then first you have to 'generate export datasource' for infoobject 0PROFITCENTER, right click the infoobject and 'generate export datasource', then do 'replicate datasource' from bw myself, after that it will available. to display it you may go to rsa1->infosource, and menu settings->display generated objects.

How to load hierarchy from file into InfoObject with compounding Attr & LN

I have created an InfoObject called YCOSTC0 which has a compounding attribute 0CO_AREA. and Text is Lanugage dependent, hence the key is YCOSTC0, 0CO_AREA and LANGUAGE, now when i load hierarchy from flat file as mentioned below, it creates duplicate blank rows in master data table, becuase the flat file contains only the YCOSTC0 Info Object and this data gets loaded into 0CO_AREA column in master data table which is the first column. how can i load hierarchies from flat file into an InfoObject that has a compounding attribute and Language dependent. please provide me a sample file structure with data.

How to load images from BLOB to javascript?
hi, Guys:
I need to load thumbnail images from BLOB to multiple markers' infowindow in Google map . I have implemented Google map in APEX. I load the data suchas text for every marker's infowindow from Oracle database table with PL/JSON, and infowindow works fine. Could anyone give me a suggestion or example so I know how to load images to javascript?

I did not find any method in PL/JSON to pass image object)? So far I only found example to load images from local files to javascript.Hmm..I don't think you should load image objects.

Loading data from flat file to ODS
Hi Experts,
I have a developed a report, in which Flat file is the datasource and data target as DSO.
Here I have one requriment to Increatment the counter value in TVARVC table after every load compleate.
Can this be done thru Process chain? I belive this can be done thru process chain by creating variable.
If this can be done thru Process chains can any experts send me sample examples code.

We have a similar scenario in which we will load data from flat file to datasource the file name (x_20081010.dat) of such format being fetched from the low value of the TVARVC table ... once successfully executed we had program to increment the value of low which increments by one day adn the next day the file with that will be placed in the application server...
U can create a abap program varaint and attribute for that and u can achieve that.... this is sample code which searches for the string and after some coding i.e once ur file has been loaded successful code u can write similar code to increment or counter values which u are asking for...
search s_tvarvc-low for '20'.
if sy-subrc ne 0.
sy-msgty = 'E'.
sy-msgid = 'ZWM1'.
sy-msgno = '000'.
sy-msgv1 = 'Unable to find DATE to increment'.
raise unable_increment.
