  • HELP!! NEWBIE - Dynamically load jpg images - NEWBIE Question.

    Newbie here.
    Im currently making a flash website. and trying to make it as light as possible.
    so decided to load images dynamically.
    Im using UILoaders.
    I drag the UILoader from components into the main timeline and set the source as 1.jpg, because the image is in the same folder as the .fla file.
    and scale - false
    Tested the movie but nothing shows up. i guess i need some coding? but i dont know where to add the codes. on the same frame? or in frame 1?
    i also need the image to fade-in.
    the end result im looking for is, as i click a button. 3 images show up at the same time, fading in.
    Help, greatly appreciated.
    and thanks in advance

    thanks your the reply,
    the source is set to 1.jpg i put a image file named 1.jpg into the same as the fla. and swf and everything.
    the UILoader is visible in frame 55 or so. and as i click a button the pic is suppose to show , but it doesnt??
    the jpg is also non-progressive..
    any idea why its not working?

  • PDA load JPG with Win CE 5

    Dear LV PDA users.
    I have posted some problems with the PDA load JPG Image.
    Downtracing the failure showed:
    The PDA module needs some dll from the windows mobile
    version of Win CE.
    I always got the same failure while loading the 10 KB 24Bit color
    JPG file. The Error code 2 tells me that I haven't enough memory
    to load the file. The decompressed bitmap is about 288 KB.
    In this case it turned out that LabVIEW mallocs about 20MB while
    loading th picture.
    The question is: WHY?
    Now its clear why I cant load the pictures. My device has just
    32 MB of FLASH and 32 MB od RAM.
    Btw. be carefull using picture controls. Everytime yo add
    somthing to the existing picture the memory used by the
    control increases. This leads to emormus memory
    consumption in loops.
    With kind regards and best wishes for users of this crummy tool

    I can connect to the HomeHub 2.00 fine, using my WPA2 encryption setting, with the new netbook, and access the Internet using Win CE Web browser, but I have a problem accessing my btinternet.com email facility, using Win CE 5.00's built-in Email facility.
    The Win CE email set-up utility asks to input "Connection", "POP3 Host", "User ID" and "Password".
    I've inputted (in the above order) "None" - "mail.btinternet.com" - "my usual BT email address" - "my correct password" (all as shown from my lap-top's Outlook Express BT mail settings, which work fine).
    When I click on either "Connect" or "Send & Receive messages", I get an error message box, saying -
    "Can't connect to service. POP3 User name refused. This may be the result of a bad account or password, unsupported authentication package, or you may be already logged into the account using another computer"
    Anyone any ideas how to set WinCE up for emails?
    Or is BT Yahoo email not supported on CE?
    Your help would be appreciated, thanx

    Hi David.
    Is there an option to just "receive" ?
    It could be other settings (e.g. for the sending option) that's actually causing the problem.
    Other things to try : use your whole email address including @btinternet.com, email address without @btin..., email address including @btopenworld.com (sometimes this works ...).
    Check any anti-virus/security package isn't interferring with the connection.
    Also make 100% sure that you've got the correct spelling of all of the items, including removing any space characters at the start or end. Sorry to say this, but it is very easy to misspell stuff, including putting the period "." in the wrong place.

  • Why wont jpg images from macbook open on Windows PC?

    I have loaded jpg images from my nikon camera into iphoto on macbook pro.
    No editing was done.
    Then i copied then to a usb and attempted to open on a windows pc .
    They wont open in either windows or photoshop on windows pc.
    Can you help please?
    Many thanks
    Dell.

    You may be burning the disk as a data CD. Make sure that you're burning the disk as an Audio CD (iTunes Burning preference). You can also burn an MP3 CD if your tracks are in MP3 format and your player will handle an MP3 disk.
    Hope this helps.

  • JPG Image to StringBuffer then to Image

    Hi
    I loaded JPG image into the servlet context as StringBuffer, it works, but how to write the StringBuffer back into JPG image ?
    I tried the following , it works but the file it wrote is not JPG format
    String imageString= "";
    try{
    imageString = ""+getServletContext().getAttribute("Image1");
    }catch(Exception exp){System.out.print("\n imageString = "+exp.toString());}
    String newfilename = "c://blabla.jpg";
    byte[] image =null;
    try{
    image = imageString.getBytes();
    OutputStream OutStream = new FileOutputStream(newfilename);
    OutStream.write(image);
    OutStream.close();
    }catch(Exception exp){System.out.print("\n OutputStream = "+exp.toString());}

    I still don't understand why you don't do this:
    ByteArrayOutputStream out = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
    stream = ImageIO.createImageInputStream(url.openStream());
    byte[] buf = new byte[1024];
    int r = 0;
    while((r = stream.read(buf, 0, buf.length) != -1) {
       out.write(buf, 0, r);
    getServletContext().getAttribute("Image1", out.toByteArray());and
    try{
       byte[] img = (byte[])getServletContext().getAttribute("Image1");
       OutputStream OutStream = new FileOutputStream(newfilename);
       ImageOutputStream imgout = ImageIO.createImageOutputStream(OutStream);
       imgout.write(img, 0, img.length);
       imgout.close();
    }catch(Exception exp){System.out.print("\n = "+exp.toString());} I think you are just making things confusing by using StringBuffers for binary data, and it's not going to save you memory.

  • Loading an image into an Applet from a JAR file

    Hello everyone, hopefully a simple question for someone to help me with!
    Im trying to load some images into an applet, currently it uses the JApplet.getImage(url) method just before registering with a media tracker, which works but for the sake of efficiency I would prefer the images all to be contained in the jar file as oppossed to being loaded individually from the server.
    Say I have a class in a package eg, 'com.mydomain.myapplet.class.bin' and an images contained in the file structure 'com.mydomain.myapplet.images.img.gif' how do I load it (and waiting for it to be loaded before preceeding?
    I've seen lots of info of the web for this but much of it is very old (pre 2000) and im sure things have changed a little since then.
    Thanks for any help!

    I don't touch applets, so I can't help you there, but here's some Friday Fun: tracking image loading.

  • Best Practice - load external image including rollovers

    I am attempting to use the loader component to load an
    external jpg, but experience issues having my flash app
    successfully load a roll-over image from an external source when
    the user rolls over the intital jpg. I am not a flash developer
    (actually a .net developer trying to help a graphics guy out).
    I started with the loader component, converted it to a movie
    clip and then utilized the on(rollover) and on(rollout) events to
    change the loader component's contentPath property at runtime via
    ActionScript. I am not getting consistent results with this
    strategy - what is the best way to accomplish this? Also note I
    tried converted to a button, which seemed more logical, but the
    loader component doesn't seem to like being converted to a button.

    Check out the Loader class in the Components Language
    Reference. Loader
    extends MovieClip, so there's no need to convert to a movie
    clip symbol. In
    addition, I recommend scrapping on() in favor of MovieClip
    events, which
    will probably be closer to your .NET point of view that the
    older
    on/onClipEvent approach to event handling (those are Flash
    5-era).
    Honestly, though, if you simply want to load images, I would
    forego the
    Loader component (no need for all that overhead) and use
    MovieClipLoader to
    load your images into the user's Internet cache. You'll see a
    good handful
    of events under that class listing as well (see the
    ActionScript 2.0
    Language Reference).

  • I need to downgrade from version 3.6.10 to 3.6.9 in order to use .jpg in my blog. How can I downgrade? I can't find the older version on the site.

    When I attempt to insert an image (.jpg) in my blog, the title (if used) appears, but the image doesn't. Images that worked before I upgraded to version 3.6.10 will not load now either, but the images that were inserted before the upgrade are fine. Blog-city tech support says this is a known issue with 3.6.10 and that the only fix is to downgrade to 3.6.9.

    I did that :
    Open Terminal
    1 - wget http://rpms.famillecollet.com/remi-release-8.rpm
    2 - sudo rpm -Uvh remi-release-8.rpm
    3 - sudo mousepad /etc/yum.repos.d/remi.repo
    Make sur that in remi section enabled value = 1 and in test section enabled value= 0
    4 - sudo rpm -e --nodeps firefox
    5 - sudo yum install firefox
    It was successful for me after many hours to look for the right answer

  • Using ImageIcon load an image

    Hi I'm having a lot of trouble getting the below code to work. Its copied out of my textbook and its supposed to load an image using the getImage method in the ImageIcon class. The strange thing is I have gotten this to work before, but after I installed Windows 2000 the image doesn't seem to load right anymore.
    getWidth and getHeight - on the image afterwards returns -1.
    Could this be windows 2000's problem? I'm pretty sure it isn't .. but when you run out of ideas, it feels good to put the blame on something other than yourself.
    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.net.*;
    public class DisplayImage extends JApplet
    public void init()
    ImageIcon icon = null;
    try
    icon = new ImageIcon(new URL(getCodeBase(), "Images/backTile.bmp"));
    catch(MalformedURLException e)
    System.out.println("Failed to create URL:\n"+e);
    return;
    int imageWidth = icon.getIconWidth();
    int imageHeight = icon.getIconHeight();
    resize(imageWidth, imageHeight);
    ImagePanel imagePanel = new ImagePanel(icon.getImage());
    getContentPane().add(imagePanel);
    class ImagePanel extends JPanel
    public ImagePanel(Image image)
    this.image = image;
    public void paint(Graphics g)
    g.drawImage(image,0,0,this);
    Image image;
    Again thx a lot. I know its a lot of code to read. Any help at all would be much appreciated.

    ".bmp" ? Windows bitmap isn't a supported file type, you should save your image as .gif, .png, or as .jpg.

  • Dynamic load of images in to established Timeline effect

    Is it possible to dynamicly load images in to an already
    established timeline effect?
    Steps I've done.
    Stuffed a JPG in to the library by draging and dropping it in
    to the SWFs library.
    Dropped the JPG on to the main stage
    Right clicked the image then going down to Timeline effects
    and choosing an effect.
    Completing any changes in effects dialogue box and then
    clicking OK.
    Play the movie, and pat myself on the back that it worked.
    So then, how can I get Actionscript to load an image
    dynamically in to that same Timeline effect and have it do the
    effect to that instead of the one found in the library?
    I'm using Flash MX Professional 2004.

    hii
    Can u mention the error message getting while the status become RED??
    As what I understand, this may be the issue of invalid characteristics inPSA Data Records or also there may be records that does not support the lower case or upper case data.
    So just check the data in PSA Level

  • How to create multi-level style pulling in a .jpg image as a bullet?

    From within RoboHelp 8 HTML, when creating/editing a 3-tier multi-level style, I want to use a .jpg image for the bullet(s).  I can not find a way to point to the image while in Edit mode.  My only choices are predefined bullets for the List Style.
    When searching for an answer within the forum, I noticed mention of a Baggage folder in RoboHelp.  I do not have a Baggage folder.  I do have links to websites accessible from within the web-based Help file I've created beneath the URLs folder in the Project Manager.
    Thank you for any help you can provide.

    Hi there
    I never really played much with adding images to the oddly formatted Multi-list styles.
    The Project Manager has two views. Sounds like you are using the new "global" view. In that view you don't see a special area labeled Baggage Files. In this view the files are simply listed among the other content. If you change the view to Classic (I think it's the first icon on the left of the pod toolbar) you will then see the Baggage Files folder.
    Cheers... Rick

  • How to load a image after getting it with a file chooser?

    I'm still starting with JavaFX, and I simply would like to know how to load the image (e.g. png or jpg) that I selected using a FileChooser in the user interface. As its name implies, the url param expect... an URL, not a file path!
    So, use {color:#8000FF}url: imageFile.toURI().toURL(){color} instead.
