Locale variable in windows

Hi all,
Whats the substitute for locale environment variable in linux on windows?
If i want to changer tge OS locale in linux ,ido it as LC_ALL=UTF8.
HOw to do the same thing in windows?
thanks

You may check "chcp" (change Code Page) command:

Some "locales" on Windows are controled by "Control Panel-->Regional and language options"
Hope this helps.

  • How to create a local variable in bpel?

    Hi,
    In my bpel flow I need to call service based upon a pl/sql procedure multiple times. The procedure returns the results of a query in chunks and contains a boolean as an output parameter that tells me whether there are any more records that need to be fetched based upon which I will be calling the service again. I want to achieve this using a while loop. So for the while loop condition I am thinking of creating a local variable in the bpel process and assign it an initial value of false(). Then once the service is called I will set the value of this variable to the output boolean parameter returned by the procedure. So while the boolean is true the service will be called again.
    My question is how can I create a local variable in bpel and assign it an initial value of false. Or is there any other way that this can be achieved?
    Thanks!!

    Hello! thanks for yr response.
    I tried creating a new variable by defining a scope. But in the create variable window I cannot define a standalone variable of boolean type I need to pick up the type from an lov that brings up a list of all existing variable! so basically u are just mapping to an existing variable which in my case will not work because I will need to map to one of the elements of the output of the pl/sql procedure based service -- also this element itself is not exposed in the lov only the name "inputParameters" is displayed as the element --all the contents are not exposed.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    dcminter wrote:
    How do I assign to rval if it's declared final?You don't and you can't. You're not allowed to assign to the local variable of the outer class for extremely good reasons, so forget about trying.
    Or at the very least, how do I get rid of this errorIf you don't want the side effect, then just use an inner class variable or a local variable.
    If you want the side effect then use a named class and provide it with a getter and setter.
    Finally, in this specific case because you're using an array object reference, you could probably just initialise the array object in the outer class. I.e.
    // Outer class
    final boolean[] rval = new boolean[1];
    // Anonymous Inner class
    rval[0] = true; // No need to intialize the array.
    I declared it as an array so that it would be a tristate boolean (null, true, false) such that accessing it before initialization from the actionPerformed would trigger a NullPointerException.
    Flowchart:
    is button pressed? <-> no
    |
    V
    Yes->set and return
    Is there a way to accomplish this without creating a tribool class?

    Thank you.

    This deffinition ( __declspec(thread) ) of the thread local veriable does not works in some cases (see articles in MSDN how to define thread local variables in C++ code). JVM loads your native module (DLL) with LoadLibrary function. This is one of the cases when __declspec(thread) is wrong in C++ code.

  • How to solve error using local variables?

    I've created a sequence with a local variable.
    But when I execute it, an error occurs since the first step (before the step where I manipulate the local variable).
    The error code is something like:
    Error in Evaluation. Syntax expression. Column [0-0]
    It's interesting because it seems that once I've executed my sequence for the first time I can't create any other sequence where this error doesn't appear.

    Pparo,
    The problem does not occur under TS 1.0.3 on my system. However, I think we can get to the bottom of this.
    When at a breakpoint in your sequence, if I type the expression "Locals.nls == 15-" in the TestStand watch window, I will get the message
    Evaluation Failed: Syntax error in expression (Column 18-18)
    I believe that this is the same type of error that you have encountered. Correct me if I am wrong.
    The numbers after the word "Column" indicate where the error has occurred in the expression. In your case the error occurs at the beginning of an expression. The question still remains as to in which expression is error occurring.
    Are you seeing this error reported in the watch window? If so, then you have typed the expression in the watch window.
    If I copy the bad expression above into a the expression of a Statement step I get a run-time error of
    An error occurred in the 'Statement' step of the 'MainSequence' sequence in 'Sequence File1'.
    The post-expression for the step 'Statement' could not be evaluated.
    Syntax error in expression.
    Error Code: -17322
    From what you report, the error appears to be located in your watch expression. When I executed your sequence with a breakpoint on the first step, I added the watch expression by selected the Context tab, expanding the Sequence Context tree view until I could see the nls variable, and then I dragged nls from the tree view to the watch window. This created the watch expression of Locals.nls. I also created the same watch expression by right clicking in the watch window, selecting Add Watch from the context menu, and selecting (or typing) Locals.nls. The expressions all evaluated to 24 without error.
    This process has NOTHING to do with creating local variables. You asked if you are creating variables properly. There are only 2 ways to create variables in TestStand 1.0.3, neither of which you have described. The most common method is to select the Locals tab after opening your sequence (not during execution), right click in the right pane and add the variable of your choice. It seems like you did this correctly based on the sequence file you sent. The other method of creating variables is to do so programmatically. However, this is beyond the scope of this answer.
    You ask a question about "the best way to create three constants in LabVIEW and pass them to a LabVIEW VI that is a step?" This implies to me that you want to create the strings within a VI called by one sequence step, and then use them in another VI called by a different sequence step. I would recommend taking a look at the example AccessingPropertiesAndVariables.seq that ships with TestStand. The first 3 VIs write values back to step properties, but could just as easily write them back to local variables. The 4th VI writes a file reference back to a TS local variable. The 5th and 6th step get the file reference from the TS local variable. You want to do something similar to the 4th and 5th VI, however, you want to send 3 strings to local TS variables, and then get them in the following VI. This will require using "TestStand - Set Property Value (String).vi" and "TestStand - Get Property Value (String).vi" which can be found in the TestStand function palette in LabVIEW. After reviewing this example you can then ask additional question. I recommend posting the question on a different thread since it is unrelated to your original question about the syntax error.

  • Using shared variables in windows 7 64 bit

    Hi !
    I am trying to use network published shared variables (with Labview 8.6.1) in windows 7 64 bit. I have three PCs on the network. All PC's are visible to each other. I am able to remotely log on to other PCs.
    But when i run my program, the shared variables are not able to read the value over the network. The same program was working with windows XP.
    I am not sure whether it is windows issue or labview issue.
    Please help ASAP.

    I am having the same problem with Shared Variables with LV8.6.1 and Win7 64 in a program that uses a shared variables to share in seperate loops. I was able to use a local variable instead, but would love to know if it possible to use shared variables with 8.6.1 and win7.

  • Print local variable from print prog into sapscript

    Hi,
    I have one local variable declared in the print program for one SAP-form. I want to print it in some window of that form.
    How do i pass that variable to the form for printing ?
    Thanks & Regards

  • BIDS 2008 R2 freezes on large SSIS package when attempting to browse local variable

    Hi,
    When I set a break point on a control component within a large package and then attempt to watch local variables BIDS freezes. I then have to end BIDS using Task Manager.
    So whilst debugging I view local variables the following way; -
    When I try and expand the following variables tree BIDs freezes. The Task Manager on my desktop reports that my desktop where I am running BIDs is 80% idle.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    Kieran.

    Hi Arthur,
    Yes ... but if I am going to try and persuade my client to buy me a new laptop or upgrade my existing laptop to enable me to run BIDs against their servers I need to be more specific.
    My current laptop has; -
    Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit,
    8 GB RAM,
    Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-3630QM CPU @2.40Ghz
    A Solid state drive with 80Gb free space.
    To be honest it's the best laptop a client has ever loaned me. However the SSIS package which triggers the freeze is particularly large in terms of number of variables and size of control flow.
    Whilst the freeze occurs as mentioned above the
    Windows Task Manager reports; -
    System Idle Process is set to 90+%
    Memory usage set to 3.6Gb
    Resource Monitor reports disk activity at virtually 0.
    I wonder if there is an internal cap on resources within BIDs?
    Any further help would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    Kieran.

  • Sun Sudio C++: Local Variables and Watches Values Not Initialized in Debug

    Hi All,
    I am trying to debug my program (using dbx). I have put break points in various functions. However, I have the following problems:
    - when the program runs to the break points, all arguments have in the functions shown in the callstack have values '???';
    - NOTHING is shown in the 'Local Variables' windows;
    - if I put the local variables in the 'Watches' window, the 'value' simply says <unset value>;
    what am I doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance

    Well, first things that comes to my mind is that your app was not compiled with debug info. Could you please post output of the following three commands here:
    $ dwarfdump -l <your app> | wc -l
    $ dumpstabs -s <your app> | wc -l
    $ file <your app>
    (if the first two would print small number, remove "wc -l" and post real output here, please)

  • Debugging and Local Variable

    Hi All
    In MS visual studio i can select a local variable (Promise I will go and wash my mouth out now) and add it to a watch therefore i can see what the value of the variable as I go through the code line for line
    how can I view local variable in xcode ?
    Regards
    Tony

    To do something similar in Xcode, select the variable and either choose Run > Variables View > View Variables as Expression or choose Run > Variables View > View Variable in Window. Both options place the local variable in a separate window for you to view.
    There's not much difference between the two options if you're viewing one variable, but there is a difference if you're viewing multiple variables. If you view the variable as an expression, Xcode places all the variables you want to view in one Expressions window. If you view the variable in a window, Xcode creates a new window when you choose Run > Variables View > View Variable in Window.

    To make things clear, here are two small examples that show how nasty locals and value properties can be to the naive programmer.
    - Open the diagram of the race condition.vi before running it and try to predict what will be the values of the two counters after the third run.
    - Use the Compare Locals Properties and Wires.vi to find out how slow locals and value properties can be (times 1000+).
    This being demonstrated, I must add that I use globals and value properties quite often, because they are often very convenient

  • How to use local variable in member formula?

    Hi Expert,
    We would like to use a {local variable} in a member formula, so that it can pick up the prompt from webform upon save. Would like to know if it is possible to do? If so, what is the correct syntax?
    We attempted to use brace {scenario}, blacket [scenario], blacket with quote ["scenario"]. None of these work.
    We are using 11.1.2.1 version, EPMA, Hyperion Planning.
    Thanks in advance for your help!

    One other pointer. Where did you define your variable? Hopefully you went into Calc Manager and selected <Tools>, <Variables>. From there, navigate to your application or database. Right-click on your application or database and select "New". In the bottom panel, you'll need to select your Variable Type. Make sure you select "Member", and not "Members". You cannot pass "Members" (plural) to a web input form. Also, if you want to define a variable for a custom dimension, you'll need to do it at the database level. Standard dimension member variables can be defined at the app level. (Not sure why this is the case, especially when my custom dimension exists in all plan types . . . . )
    Anyway, hope this helps,
    - Jake

  • Default initialisation of member variables and local variables

    I don't understand why member variables are initialized with default values by Java.
    Objects are initialized with "null" and primitives with "0", except boolean, which is initialized with "false".
    If these variables are used locally they are not initialized. The compiler requires them to be initialized by the programer, for example "String s = null".
    Why? What is the use of that difference?
    And why are arrays always initialized with default values, no matter if they are member variables or local variables? For example String[] s = new String[10]; s[0] to s[9] are initialized with "null", no matter if "s" is a local or member variable.
    Can someone please explain that strange difference, why it is used? To me it has no sense.

    Most of the time I have to initialize a local variable
    with "String s = null" in order to use it because
    otherwise the compile would complain. This is a cheap
    little trick, but I think everyone uses it.
    I wouldn't agree with "most of the time". The only cases where it is almost necessary to do that is when the variable should be initialized in a loop or a try-catch statement, and that doesn't happen too often.
    If local variables were initiliazed automatically without a warning it would be a Bad Thing: the compiler could tell when there is a possibility that a variable hasn't been assigned to and prevent manymanymany NullPointerExceptions on run time.
    And you didn't answer me why this principle is not
    used with arrays if it is so useful as you think.
    Possibly it is much more difficult to analyse the situation in the case of arrays; what if values are assigned to the elements in an order that depends on run time properties such as values returned from a random number generator.
    The more special rules one has to remember, the more
    likely one makes errors.I agree, but what is the rule to remember in this case?
