Location of the Deployment Directory for embedded OC4J

Hi,
Apologies first off if this is a tres thick question. I am developing an application in J2EE using JDeveloper 9.0.3 and the embedded 0C4J server as my app server. I am wanting to use JProbe to profile my code. It asks for the location of the deployment directory. I've had a look on the internet and can't for the life of me see where the compiled/packege files are deployed to.
Does this directory exist and if so, whereabout's is it?
Thanks for your help (sorry if I'm being stupid).

The deployment directory in which the OC4J embedded server applications are deployed is
<JDeveloper 10.1.3>\jdev\mywork\<Application>\<Project>\deploy

  • Can I deploy applications to embedded oc4j, manually?

    Hi.
    I created an application using JDeveloper 10g and deployed it on embedded oc4j server. I don't want to start Jdeveloper each time I have to run application, so I started the embedded server using:
    java -jar oc4j.jar
    and it runs fine but the application is not running when I give the URL in browser.
    Is the port different when u run the server manually? or the web.xml is not read in this mode?
    Can you guys help?
    Thanks.

    To run a application on the embedded server right-click on the application and select Run for which the JDeveloper is required to be started.
    Or, get the URL for the application with right-click>Run and specify the url in a browser after starting the embedded server separately if the embedded server gets started separately.

  • How to set the deployment directory ?

    Hi all,
    I am using Sun One Studio 3.0 with iWS6.0.
    For every new application that I write, compile and execute,
    it is getting deployed to the same
    directory.
    Because Sun One Studio is always using the same directory,
    for every application I have
    to manually delete the deployment directory.
    Is there any way to set different deployment
    directory for every new application that I write ?
    If yes, how to do this ?
    Thanks
    Swap

    I dont have the product installed, so I cannot try it right now. But I think the context root is part of the directory name in which the application is deployed. By default the context root is empty. If you change that, your application would be deployed in a different directory. To change context root, right click on WEB-INF node, and select "Properties" from the menu.
    Alternatively, you could try changing the directory name by right-clicking on the web.xml node under WEB-INF. You should see an iWS tab on the property sheet, where you could enter a directory name.

  • Help needed regarding the deployment architecture for PROD env

    Dear All,
    Please help me with some clarifications regarding the deployment architecture for PROD env.
    As of now I have 2 single node 12.1.1 installations for DEV and CRP/TEST respectively.
    Shortly I will be having a PROD env of 12.1.1 with one DB node and 2 middle tier (apps) node. I need help in whether -
    1) to have a shared APPL_TOP in the SAN for the 2 apps node or to have seperate APPL_TOPs for the 2 apps node. The point is that which will be benificitial in my case from business point of view. The INST_TOPS will be node specific in any case right?
    2) Where to enable the Concurrent Managers, in the DB node or in the primary apps node or in 2 apps node both for better performance.
    12.1.1 is installed in RHEL 5.3
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi,
    Please refer to (Note: 384248.1 - Sharing The Application Tier File System in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12).
    For enabling the CM, it depends on what resources you have on each server. I would recommend you install it on the the application tier node, and leave the database installed on one server with no application services (if possible).

    Hussein

  • How to set the working directory for reports in linux

    Hi All,
    Can you anyone help me to set the working directory for oracle application server 10g reports? I am using RHEL4 and AS10g. Actually i want to run my reports from my define
    working directory. How can I do this?
    Thanks in advance
    Arif

    Hi,
    your rep_srv.conf should look like something like
    +<?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'ISO-8859-1'?>+
    +<!DOCTYPE server PUBLIC "-//Oracle Corp.//DTD Reports Server Configuration //EN" "file:D:\oracle\FRHome_1/reports/dtd/rwserverconf.dtd">+
    +<server version="10.1.2.0.2">+
    +<!--Please do not change the id for reports engine.-->+
    +<!--The class specifies below is subclass of _EngineClassImplBase and implements EngineInterface.-->+
    +<cache class="oracle.reports.cache.RWCache">+
    +<property name="cacheSize" value="50"/>+
    +<!--property name="cacheDir" value="your cache directory"-->+
    +<!--property name="maxCacheFileNumber" value="max number of cache files"-->+
    +<!--property name="ignoreParameters" value="parameter names to be ignored in constructing cache key, separated by comma ','"-->+
    +</cache>+
    +<engine id="rwEng" class="oracle.reports.engine.EngineImpl" initEngine="1" maxEngine="3" minEngine="0" engLife="50" maxIdle="30" callbackTimeOut="90000" jvmOptions="-Xmx512M -Xss512K">+
    +<!--property name="sourceDir" value="your reports source directory"/-->+
    +<!--property name="tempDir" value="your reports temp directory"/-->+
    +<!--property name="keepConnection" value="yes"/-->+
    +</engine>+
    +...+
    some more definitions
    +..+
    +<!--pluginParam name="proxy" type="file">proxyinfo.xml</pluginParam-->+
    +<pluginParam name="xmlpds" type="file">xmlpds.conf</pluginParam>+
    +<pluginParam name="jdbcpds" type="file">jdbcpds.conf</pluginParam>+
    +<pluginParam name="textpds" type="file">textpds.conf</pluginParam>+
    *<environment id="APP1">*
    *+<envVariable name="REPORTS_PATH" value="/application1/reports"/>+*
    *+</environment>+*
    *+<environment id="APP2">+*
    *+<envVariable name="REPORTS_PATH" value="/application2/reports"/>+*
    +</environment>+
    +</server>+
    The environment ids you can choose yourself and you have to put them in there yourself too (here I put two environments for two different applications "1" and "2").
    If you call a report from Forms, then you have to code something like
    ADD_PARAMETER(p_list,'ENVID',TEXT_PARAMETER,'APP1');
    Details depend on how you call your reports, my example is for using a parameter list and calling a report out of application1
    Hope that helps.

    I am using html to make a website and want to use a png on my macbook but need the root directory for the image source. I am not sure how to get this, can anyone tell me how?

    If you are hosting a web server from your Mac, you should place the images inside /Library/WebServer/Documents or inside your user Sites folder. The www user will not be able to access a file from anywhere else unless you give it permission to do so.

    Well, I've tried compiling a package and I have modified the PKGBUILD file to look like this now. (Keeping it as simple as possible)
    pkgname=dvbcut-svn
    pkgver=16
    pkgrel=1
    pkgdesc="DVBCUT-svn is an application that allows you to
    edit MPEG files. ie: Remove TV ads. (SVN version: Fri, 01 Dec 2006)."

    makedepends=('subversion' 'scons')
    conflicts=('dvbcut' 'ffmpeg')
    provides=('dvbcut')

    _svntrunk=https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/dvbcut/trunk
    _svnmod=dvbcut
    build() {
    cd $startdir/src
    svn co $_svntrunk --config-dir ./ -r $pkgver $_svnmod
    cd $_svnmod
    msg "SVN checkout done or server timeout"
    msg "Starting make..."
    make || return 1
    # vim:syntax=sh
    I then run makepkg PKGBUILD and let it do its thing
    It ends with this...

  • JDBC datasoure that works for embedded OC4J server of JDeveloper 10.1.3.4

    Hi all,
    I have this in the Application Module as JDBC datasource: java:comp/env/jdbc/DBCON
    That works fine if I deploy the application on Oracle application- or tomcat-server.
    On the connections tab in JDeveloper I have made a database connection with the name DBCON.
    But when I run the application from Jdeveloper with the embedded OC4J server I get this error:
    Unable to lookup Data Source at context java:comp/env/jdbc/DBCON
    What do I do wrong?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Edit the <application_name>-data-sources.xml file under the root directory of your application, and setup a managed data source and connection pool with the data source having the correct jndi name, eg. jdbc/DBCON
    You can either do this manually (which I find easier), or use the tool within JDev
    Tools - > Embedded OC4J Preferences -> Current Workspace -> Data Sources -> New

    Hi,
    I'm having exactly the same problem. I don't know why I get this error, but I figured out how to run application.
    My ebj's have finder methods returning collections, usually in LocalHome interface you declare that a methods throw FinderException. Try declaring also RemoteException, this is simple solution that make my beans work with OC4J. Unfortunately when I check ejb with verifier I get errors.
    Maybe someone knows what causes this problem and how to avoid it.
    Martin.

  • Finding the plugin directory for Photoshop

    If I remember correctly the path/directory locations have changed in recent years (but i'm not sure having skipped from photoshop 7 up to cs3) .
    What should I consider when writing my plugin installer for finding these paths? I skimmed the SDK documentation, but perhaps I overlooked it?
    I know there's a registry entry, but finding the path requires knowing the version so you can get to it: SOFTWARE > Adobe > Photoshop > 10.0 > PluginPath
    And while we're at it, how is this best accomplished on OS X?

    No, the plugin location hasn't changed relative to the application.
    If you want to be sure and get the localized location, you can always use the PSPaths preference file or the registry entries for each version of Photoshop.
    Keeping the location for multiple versions is intentional - so you can choose to install for all versions, or specific versions.
    Search for known version numbers that you support (CS4, CS3, CS2, CS, 7, etc.) to get their location.

  • Player update 11.5.9.620 has changed the DLL directory for Xtras?

    Hi all,
    we have created and used a Shockwave Xtra for quite a while now. This Xtra has (on Windows) some dependencies to DLLs which we packaged into the Xtra package file. If you enter a website with Shockwave that requires our Xtra the package is pulled and extracted to the according location of the Shockwave player directory (including the DLLs which are placed just next to the Xtra) and then loaded.
    Before the recent player update this was fine and the Xtra could be loaded without any problems (including the DLL dependencies). But since the update the dependant DLLs of the Xtra can't be loaded any more which causes the Xtra to fail. I already did some debugging and found out that the recent Shockwave player seems to have changed the DLL search order (potentially using SetDLLDirectory of the Windows API) which now doesn't include the path to the Xtra itself any more. This results in the fact that the Xtra dependencies can't be located/loaded any more.
    Is this issue intended/known and is there a workaround (other than trying to compile everything into the Xtra file itself, which won't work in our case)?
    Thank you,
    Michael

    I saw your post on Direct-L and it seems to me you need to talk to someone in engineering. Try emailing Krishnan <mailto:[email protected]>

  • Just put my i-tunes library on a 2nd hard drive, how do I easily change the location where the program looks for current songs from the C:/ drive to the new drive without going thru each song individually in the "get info" tab

    I just installed a new hard drive and transfered my i-tunes library to the new drive.  How can I make a bulk change of the location the program looks for the current songs.  I know you can do it song by song from the "get info" tab but I need to do it for all 4500 songs.  I have already changed the location that new files are stored to the new hard drive.

    The pop-up lets you connect to the library file, iTunes Library.itl, on the external drive. This will, in turn, automatically update the preference for the iTunes Media folder to be the iTunes Media or iTunes Music folder inside the iTunes folder on the external drive and it will update the locations of all the content inside the media folder so that it uses the version on the external drive.
    This works seamlessly if all iTunes content was inside the iTunes Media (or iTunes Music) folder (which was itself inside the iTunes library folder) before you moved/copied the iTunes folder. For content outside the iTunes Media folder iTunes should remain connected to the original location. These files should be consolidated (before or after the move/copy) and in addition, if available the library should be upgraded to the newer layout which places iPod Games and Mobile Applications inside the media folder instead of the library folder. (File > Library > Organize Library...)
    For split libraries there are methods to rejoin them before moving (preferred) or repairing after the fact (e.g. my script) which I can go into if needed.

  • Looking in the wrong directory for class file

    My javabean looks like this:
    <jsp:useBean id="mailer" class="MailerBean">
    <jsp:setProperty name="mailer" property="*"/>
    <% mailer.sendMail(); %>
    </jsp:useBean>
    The actual MailerBean.class file is in ROOT/public_html/servlets directory. The file that uses the above javabean is in ROOT/public_html/clearresults directory. I have tried a bunch of different lines of code to point to the servlets directory with no success. The javabean continues to point to the ROOT/public_html/clearresults/MailerBean.class file when it should point to ROOT/public_html/servelts/MailerBean.class. How can I point the MailerBean class to the servlets directory without moving the file that uses the javabean?

    Generally you don't have to write code to say where a class is, and I don't know what "pointing" a class is. Things that run servlets and JSPs have rules about where they will look for classes. All you have to do is put your MailerBean class where the rules say to put it. Often that's a directory called something like .../WEB-INF/classes, but check out the rules for your product.
