Logic 9 forces my menu bar to become opaque

Not a huge deal, but I find it really odd.
Translucent menu bar, open Logic Pro 9, opaque menu bar.
Close Logic Pro 9, back to translucent.
7 didn't do this. Anyone happen to know off the top of your head how/if you can fix it?

You don't even have to close Logic - just switch to a different app and you'll see the change. Actually, the menu bar in Logic doesn't seem to be completely opaque, just more so than normal.

  • Force vertical menu bar to stay open on loaded pages

I am creating a new site using Dreamweaver CS3, temporarily uploaded at:
    http://www.sharpeacademy.co.uk/nick-jackson.co.uk/sharpeacademy/theatrearts/
I have a navigation bar with the usual main tabs and sub tabs. Is it possible to configure this so that each section of the nav menu stays open when any of the pages linked to the sub-menus are selected?
    Hope that makes sense!

OK just managed to resolve the ftp issue. Bit tricky as our
old (average) website is still on the same server.
    Anyway please check this link.
    http://www.klanntools.co.uk/Contact%20Us%20pagehtm.htm
As you can see it works fine in FF but not in IE7. The child
sub menus keep appearing at the top of the vertical menu
    bar.

  • The menu bar sometimes becomes disabled

Sometimes in the middle of using FF 4, the menu bar simply grays out and is disabled. I have not been able to figure out anything I have done prior to each time this has happened.
Here is a picture of the menu bar: [http://www.flickr.com/photos/23082864@N04/5529491107/]
I can make it disappear entirely (and bring up the FF button) and the restore it but nothing changes. It remains grayed out until I restart FF.

Create a new profile exclusively for the Firefox 4 version and create a desktop shortcut with -P "profile" appended to the target to launch that profile.

  • The search window on the menu bar has become tiny. Can I restore it?

In the past few days the search bar next to the address bar on the top of the mozilla page has become tiny--not even room for one letter. If I type a letter I am immediately taken to a google search page, and whatever I'm looking for is lost. This hasn't happened in Safari, only in Firefox. So far as I know I didn't create this change.
How can I restore the old search bar?

Place the cursor between the Location bar and the Search bar, when you see the <-> , click and drag to the left to make the Search bar larger.

  • Where has my top menu bar 'Logic pro x, file, edit, track, etc' gone?

Yes, a noob question but your assistance would be appreciated as I am trying to rewire Reason through Logic.
The top menu bar was there, but now it is not.
    Where is it hidden please?

In the screenshot you provided Logic Pro X is running in Full Screen Mode not Windowed mode
When looking at the main Logic Pro X screen... If you move your mouse pointer to the very top of the screen the menu bar should drop down and appear
    If it does not then...
To put Logic Pro X into Windowed mode when looking at Logic Pro X press  Control + Command + F together....
Now you should see the Logic Pro X  menu bar at the top of the screen
It will look something like this...

  • Crash led to my iBook no longer having the translucent menu bar setting

Basic situation is this. I was running 10.5.3 perfectly well on my iBook G4 1.33ghz/1gb RAM. One day it didn't want to wake from sleep so I had to hold the power button down to power it off then back on. It started up as normal except that the menu bar had become translucent again (in 10.5.3 I had chosen to turn that stupid 'feature' off). But now the tick box is missing from the Desktop & Screen Saver pref pane, and even re-installing Leopard and updating to 10.5.3 then 10.5.4 from scratch has not bought the box back. Any idea what on earth has happened and how I can fix this? It passes the Hardware Test CD perfectly. It's as though it now thinks my Mac isn't capable of supporting that setting (when I add a Dashboard widget the ripple still happens for example).
    Thanks!

This is a big NONO. You essentially crashed your OS by forcing it off while it was running. Yes, sleeping is running.
    Your OS is damaged.

Run the DU and repair your HD and permissions.
If that does not help, boot into the safe mode (hold down shift key on boot) and when you get to the login screen click on restart.
It could simply be a corrupt .plist file.
In the worse case, you can reinstall your OS previous to your forced crash using your TM backup.

i'm using dreamweaver CS3 to create a website using php
scripting. for some reason, my spry menu bar has become messed up.
it is now in bulleted form and the font and font color are all
wrong. i checked but the styles are turned on.. so how can i solve

  • Menu Bar items inactive in firefox after a while (firefox 8.0, mac OSX 10.6.8)

It happens a few minutes after starting firefox:menu bar items become inactive. The apple menu is inactive too. The menus of the other applications work properly (Apple menu is OK then). When switch back to firefox, menus are still inactive. Menus work again if all the firefox windows are closed (not systematically). When restarted, firefox is OK ...for a while.

try 1: disk permissions repaired : menu bar items still inactive from time to time
try 2: firefox.plist removed : menu bar items not active at all although a new plist has been created!
restoring the old plist : menu bar items OK, but I have to wait for a while, because menu bar items turn inactive only from time to time (generally, in less than 1 hour). Will keep you informed
    Thank for your help!

  • Magnified windows & menu bar

For some strange reason, all of my windows, icons and menu bars have become magnified! I've tried going through Display & Universal Access in System Preferences and all I've managed to reduce in size is the icons: everything else is way too big on my screen. I tried going to Disk Utility and running Disk First Aid and also restarting the computer, but nothing seems to get things back to normal.
Earlier, I had tried to print a document and for some reason the printer wasn't responding properly. Checked Printing in System Pref. and Epson utilities and nothing seemed to be wrong. Could this have created the problem? Am still using my old printer (an Epson 777) and only needed to download the latest driver several months ago when I activated Classic & installed OS9.
Today I also tried to use an OS9 application in Classic and that too was magnified and the colors in the window that opened were affected (brighter, different shade).
Have had this computer since the summer and this is the first time this has happened. I haven't installed anything recently or done anything out of the ordinary. Please help!!

    Elsa,
That's Great! I must have been posting some other advice when you posted as when I went back to view my reply I saw your response.
Glad that that was all that it was.....

PS. Elsa, if you would like to know more about PRAM settings and what are held in them you can read the Apple KB found here for a list of these. (see the additional link there)

  • Menu bar too full

I have recently added "Clippy," an app that allows multiple clippings. It needs an icon in the menu bar, but when I am working in Pages, where I would normally need to paste, the Pages menu is so long that some of the items on the right-hand side are cut off.
Is there a way to force the menu bar into two lines or in some other way, see the item(s) that are cut off? I guess I could solve the problem by eliminating the time icon, but I really like to have that available.

This worked. Is there a way to eliminate the icon for MobileMe, since I don't use the service? I had to take off a couple that I actually use some and would love to replace this one.
    Thanks much!

  • Ever since I updated to OSX 10.9.3 the menu bar and dock keep hiding. How can I disable this?

I updated to OSX 10.9.3 and now the top menu bars and the dock always hide. I always have to click at the top to get them to show again. I wan't to see them all the time as before. Any solutions? Btw. my automatically hide and show dock option from the dock options menu is disabled, but everything keeps hiding.

They hide when you use an App in Full Screen mode
Go to the top of the display and force the menu bar to be revealed and click on the blue full screen icon, to take it out if that mode

  • Translucent Menu Bar Bug

This is an annoying interface glitch. The desktop & screen Saver system preference has the option "Translucent menu bar". I've got this option switched off, so the menu bar is now opaque. When I switch applications the menu bar sometimes flicks back to translucent for the duration of the switchover to the selected application. It's as if the system always defaults to translucent when it's rebuilding the target application's menu bar. If there's any delay in fetching the data it needs then I'll be treated to 2 or 3 seconds of translucent menu bar while it gets its act together.

    I didn't delete Preferences/com.apple.systemuiserver,plist.
I've just rebooted and the problem seems, so far, to have disappeared. It's a very clean/new install of Lion I've got so I'm surprised that it's playing up already.
    Thanks again. Kevin.

  • Firefox 4 Menu Bar - When I hover over or select a menu bar item, the menu bar sub-menu becomes transparent and unreadable. Is this a known issue that can be corrected with an update or is it functionality that is not designed to work with this version?

Firefox 4 Menu Bar - When I hover over or select a menu bar item, the menu bar sub-menu becomes transparent and unreadable. Is this a known issue that can be corrected with an update or is it functionality that is not designed to work with this version?

If this happens on monitor 2 of 2, this problem has been solved here:
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/794823#answer-157988
Go to "Firefox"--> "Options" --> "Advanced"
Then un-check "Use hardware acceleration when available"
While not verified, I believe this problem is due to an SLI configuration where the focus is on monitor 1. (I.e acceleration is available, but only on monitor 1.)

  • Safari "quit" in menu bar dimmed, must force quit

Can't quit Sari from the menu bar -the option is dimmed. When using tabbed browsing, the "x" to close non-active tabs disappeared. Still experiencing random refreshes when clicking to make a tab active (Safari just presents a blank window).
Forced quit Safari, re-opened the browser, tabs were, for a moment, working properly, but after a period of time, for some unknown reason, the issue reoccured. Searches in the search box on safari (I use Google) do not auto populate results based on the term google believes I'm searching.

Make sure your software is up to date.
Click your Apple menu (top left in your screen) then click Software Update...
Forced quit Safari, re-opened the browser, tabs were, for a moment, working properly, but after a period of time, for some unknown reason, the issue reoccured.
Might be a third party Safari add on causing the tabs issue. Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
Also, try emptying the Safari cache more often.

  • Mac osx 10.6.7 FF4 - menu bar becomes unresponsive even apple menu, FF has to be terminated to regain access

menu bar of osx 10.6.7 becomes unresponsive, no way to access any pull down menu not even the apple menu, as long as FF4 is active. Hiding it and recalling FF to the front doesn't cure the problem. FF has to be terminated with cmd+Q or from the Dock. FF remains itself responsive, tabs can still be shifted and sites called.

First thing I'd do is update the OS to 10.6.8. There are bugs in 10.6.6 and 10.6.7, that's why Apple releases updates.
