Logo in body of Mail message

How do I send a message with Mail that has a logo in it that I want to show in the body of the message, not as an attachment?

When I put the pdf of the logo in the email, then try to save as stationery, I get an error message: "Stationery cannot contain attachments that are not images." Any idea what how to save something so that it is "an image?" Not everyone who receives the message will have a Mac, so I assumed I needed the logo to be a pdf.

  • Mail messages visible in preview, when opened the body disappears

My emails are visible, but only in preview. When the mail message is opened, the header info and subject are visible but the body of the email is blank. Thoughts?

Close the Mail app and is going to work.
    How to:
1 - Go to Home Screen
2 - On Home Screen, double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar.
3 - Press and hold any Mail app until it start shaking.
4 - Press the " - " in top left of the Mail app, it will close the app, don't worry about this.
5 - Press Home Button to go to Home Screen.
6 - Open Mail and the body mail will be there.
If that doesn't work then do a reset and see if they show after the iPhone has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPhone equivalent of a reboot.

Yep! And if you absolutely need (or think you need) that functionality, it is worth every penny.
As Don already pointed out, exactly what the recipient sees will depend on how they've set up their machine and what unnecessary 3rd party apps they might've installed to display attachments the way they want.
In theory, that is true. In practice, Attachment Tamer will cause more of your messages to show up as plain-jane icons on the other end. The problem is, after all, people running Outlook 2003 and 2007. These people likely aren't doing many system modifications.
If I were you, I'd use the free solutions provided above, save my money and let my recipients decide how they will handle their mail.
    I completely agree.

  • Lost mail body and marked messages - Maverick Upgrade

I lost some message body (they are listed but have no content) and 15 out of 16 messages marked with a flag where not in the Marked Message Folder. That happened after upgrading to Maverick. I tried to replace only the Mail folder in the libraray with the old one from Time Capsule. Didn't work. Had to reinstall whole system.

i had lost mail body, this is how i fixed it:
hold option, click GO in the top bar (where the apple icon lives), go to library > Mail > V2
now here's where things may differ slightly, i lost the body of mails i had moved to my computer (on my mac), plus i'm using Gmail accounts, that being said, inside the mailboxes folder is where the local folders are and Mail decided to create duplicate folders of some of them so i had
    Clients.mbox (with some emails)
    Clients-2.mbox (with the missing ones)
i then moved the Clients-2.mbox to the desktop, went File > Import (in Mail) then selected Apple mail as the import type, selected the mbox folder on the desktop and imported them into mail at which stage i just moved them back in to the clients folder where they belong.
i still have an issue where the reply arrow (next to email subjects of replied emails) is linking to completely irrelevant emails, that is not good. unless apple fixes it asap i would recommend moving to another email program as the Mail dev team has not only dropped the ball but stabbed it repeatedly with a blunt rusty object.

    Hi howe.sc,
When I checked for how signatures in Yosemite work, I found this.
Mail (Yosemite): Include signatures in messages
Delete a signature from a message: Select the signature, then press the Delete key.
Replace a signature in a message: Delete the existing signature, then add a different signature.
That sounds similar to what you are describing.

  • Can I export a Numbers table to the body of a message in Mail?

Here's what I'd like to do. I want to create some simple lists in Numbers or Pages in the form of a table. I would then like to import that into the message body of a message in Mail. I've tried to cut and paste, but that just ends up with a jarbled mess. Any gurus out there know how to import iWork content into a Mail message? Thanks!
    Dan

I selected this area in Numbers (two two left tables) and paste into a new Mail Message:
I believe the image that was automatically pasted is a PDF file. Note that the tables were selected, not the data within the tables.

  • Cannot read email message body in Mail

    Hello Pholks,
I'm running iBook G4 w/ OS 10.4.8. Upon starting my computer and Mail this morning, I have the following very strange problem - similar to one other who has posted today:
I can see messages in my Inbox. I can see sender, subject, date sent, etc...
However, when I highlight the message, the only thing that appears in the message windo is the header info (From: Subject: Date: To:) The body of the message is not visible. This is true for some of the messages in my Inbox, but not all. Some are old, some are new today.
Further: I also see this behavior in my archived messages. Picking a random mailbox on my hard drive, some message bodies are visible, others not. It appears to be random; I can't find any common link between the messages that aren't visible.
Further: If I use Entourage, I don't have this problem; that is, the message bodies that aren't visible in Mail are visible in Entourage.
Further: If I go onto my hard drive to the Inbox folder and select a .mbox folder and look at the messages, some have visible bodies, some not.
This appears to be a problem specific to Mail. Please help - many of my archived emails are no longer accessible to me.
Further: I've done two things that may have played a role. (1) I downloaded and installed software updates for iChat and the new Security update last night; (2) I've just added an external HD for backup. I tried to run a simple backup script last night, which resulted in the iBook HD chugging for quite some time, but never did put the data on the external HD. I've run "Repair Permissions" in Disk Utility, but to no avail.
    HELP.....

Thanks very much. It's turned out to be a font problem. About 30 of the fonts in my account directory /users/me/library/fonts folder were corrupted. They were somehow being viewed as unix executable files instead of font suitcases. !??! No idea what happened there.
I used Pacifist to reload fonts from my OSX installation disc, but this didn't seem to help. Instead, I found other copies of most of the corrupted fonts in the microsoft office/office/fonts folder, and replaced the corrupted fonts in my home library w/ those.
I was alerted to the fact the the problem was fonts when I tried to open an Excel file; it came back with messages that these various fonts were corrupted and needed to be removed. Strangely, though the corrupted fonts were in my home directory font folder and not the MS Office font folder, Excel was tripping up - i.e., it wasn't using the fonts from the Office folder. Hmm.
Finally, there are still a few fonts that are corrupted, and whose source is a mystery to me. They didn't come from the OS installation disc and they don't come from Office; consequently, I can't fix them. They are: Geneva CE, Geneva CY, GrCourier and N Helvitica Narrow.
Does anyone know where these fonts come from?

  • How can I send photos in mail as attachments instead of in the body of the message?

I want to send photos as attachments to email instead of in the body of the message.  I have searched through preferenced in both mail and iPhoto but can find nothing that lets me do this.

    1. As Rysz says, Mail does send them as attachments. If seeing the preview is problematic for you, then right click on it in the Mail Message window and select 'Show as Icon'.
    2. If you're worried about how they are received... Mail defaults to sending RTF email. A few older applications on other OSes have problems with these. A lot of users on other OSes can't figure out how to set their Mail applications to work with them. If that's the problem, use Plain Text as Larry says.

  • New mail message, tab to body doesn't work

I have an Automator app. on my desktop that jsut creates a new mail message. It does not pre-fill any information, just a new, blank mail message.
The problem is, I can type the recipients address, tab to the Subject and type that. Then, when I try to tab to the message area or body, it just highlights the Subject and will not tab forward.
    Any ideas?

The bug affects all applications that interact with Mail by way of Apple Events. Such apps as iPhoto, Automator, and AppleScript all use Apple Events to compose the buggy message. Until Mail's AE behavior is fixed, the only things I can offer are workarounds.
The previous script merely emulates user input instead of sending Apple Events. This is a bit of a kludge, and on second read a more precise solution would have been to invoke a blank mailto link:
click here to open this script in your editor<pre style="font-family: 'Monaco', 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; overflow:auto; color: #222; background: #DDD; padding: 0.2em; font-size: 10px; width:400px">open location "mailto:"</pre>A workaround for your iPhoto-to-Mail bridge would be very difficult to conjure (if it's even possible) and unreliable at best. :\

  • How to export mail message body data detectors information, not address bok

Is there anyway to export Apple mail's "data detectors" information within the message body other than to the address book? I don't want to export the other non detector information contained in the body of the message. I would also like to include From, Subject and Date. Preferably the export result would be in a organized comma format.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

    James,
Two routes to try come to mind, the first being Applescript. Mail is obviously "aware" of the info contained in the detectors, and of course it knows all about what is contained in the header. You can probably use Applescript to extract the desired data, placing it in a Text Edit document. It has been some time since I haves used Applescript myself, so I won't be much help in guiding you. Regardless, you would need to teach yourself how to use Applescript, even with assistance.
The other route to take would be to drag these emails out of Mail to the Finder, creating standard text files. You could then handle them in one of the command line text editors- scripted, of course- to extract and format the needed data. Again, this is something you'd need to explore on your own.
Since these messages all have the same formatting, it is simply a matter of identifying the data you need, then placing that data in a properly formatted text document. Generally speaking, this is part and parcel of what both Applescript be text editors do.

  • Problem w/ Mail.app. Can't select account nor type in body in new message.

Run accross an issue w/ mail in which the account cannot be selected from the dropdown (the dropdown shows the arrows and about 2 spaces, but that it is and selecting it does nothing) in a new message.
In addition one cannot type anything in the body of the message.
Have tried removing the preferences and re-launching, but to no avail.
    Any suggestions?
    PowerBook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Not really sure why Launch Services would have any
    effect in this situation.
Because of the spell checker. Common symptoms are the New and Reply buttons doing nothing, or the inability to type in the body of the message.
But tried it, and no go.
If the problem persists, I encourage you to try again carefully following all the steps described in the Resetting Launch Services article. It could very well be that you have other problems in addition to this one, but if you have this particular problem (and it looks like you have), you won't be able to fix it by any other means.
If I switch users (a basically unused account on the machine)
and lauch mail.app (had to enter in data as the program hasn't
been configured for the other user), I get the same issue.
This indicates there is something wrong with either Mail itself, or with the whole system, indeed. You can reinstall Mail as described here:
Custom installs in Mac OS X 10.4
If the version of the system software on your installation disks is earlier than what you're using now, then you must also reinstall the corresponding Combo Update afterwards, to bring the Mail application back in sync with the rest of the system:
Mac OS X 10.4.7 Combo Update for PPC
Mac OS X 10.4.7 Combo Update for Intel
Also, you may want to read the following articles for guidelines on how to properly install system updates:
    Troubleshooting installation and software updates
    Installing software updates
Basically, you should verify/repair the startup disk before installing the update, and no applications should be running while installing it.

  • My messages are not displaying, in the body of the message?

When going to mail I see messages but the body of the message does not display.

Try closing the Mail app completely and see if they show when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
