  • EJB Client JAR project produces empty JAR

I've built an EJB module in WorkSpace Studio using the "WebLogic EJB Project" type, which is part of an EAR. I created a couple stateless session beans within this project, and then created an EJB Client JAR project using the "EJB Client JAR-->Create EJB Client Jar" menu item on the EJB project's hidden menu.
According to the documentation, exporting an EAR file from the EAR project will cause the client JAR to be generated. I exported the EAR file from the EAR project, and sure enough, it included the client JAR (in /APP-INF/lib/). I extracted the client JAR from the EAR and opened it up to make sure it contained all of the client-side classes. I discovered that the client JAR was empty, the only contents being the MANIFEST.MF file. The interface classes were instead contained in the EJB JAR itself.
How can I get the EJB client code to actually be included in the EJB client JAR?
    Thanks,
    Eric

Well I have tried this with 6.1 and first
    1. One would expect the jar name to be the name in the ejb-jar.xml -
    ejb-client-jar section
    2. It outputs the file XXXEJB_Compiled.jar but it is same size as base jar
    this is 6.1 sp3
    whats up?
    Matthew Shinn wrote:
    Hi Sanjay,
There is a bug in the documentation. The client-jar name should never be part of the
ejbc command line. Step 3 below should be something like:
    java weblogic.ejbc xxxEJB.jar xxxEJB_Compiled.jar
If you have an ejb-client-jar entry in your ejb-jar.xml, the client jar should be placed
in the directory from which you ran ejbc. Make sure that the classes that you want to be
put in the client-jar are not loaded from the classpath. This is very important or your
client-jar won't be created correctly. The client-jar will only contain classes loaded
from the input jar to ejbc. A bug for the incorrect documentation has already been filed
    and should be fixed soon.

    Hi,
I am trying to use the
    <ejb-client-jar> sub-element of the Sun's <ejb-jar> (EB 2.0 DTD) element of the
ejb-jar.xml to generate the ejb-client.jar. I followed the step as documented
by WebLogic but the files in EJB jars and ejb-client jars are identical. Here
    is what I am doing:
    1. Build the xxxEJB.jar for my EJB by running the WebLogic.ejbc on the standard
    EJB jar file.
    2. My ejb-jar.xml file has following line:
    <ejb-jar>
    <ejb-client-jar>xxxEJBClient.jar</ejb-client-jar>
    </ejb-jar>
    3. Next I used the following command to generate the ejb-client.jar file
    java weblogic.ejbc xxxEJB.jar xxxEJBClient.jar
My xxxEJBClient.jar files consists of exactly same files (with same sizes) as
the xxxEJB.jar file. Only difference is that the xxxEJB.jar file includes generated
java source files for the bean implementation class and home/remote classes.
In my opinion the xxxEJBClient.jar should not contain the EJB implementation classes.
Any experience using the ejb-client-jar for generating the ejb-client.jar?
    Thanks,
    Sanjay.

  • Empty JAR File : After deployment of PAR file.

    Hi friends,
I Migrated the EP Database to different machine and made neccessary changes in the portal to make it point to the new  database.
Then i tried to change the custom deployed applications to make it point to new database. so Got the somecomp.par.bak from /<Portal_installation_path>/cluster/server/services/
servlet_jsp/work/jspTemp/irj/root/WEB-INF/deployment/pcd. Imported it into Eclipse, changed connection properties code, built it and coverted to par file. Deployed that file into portal using java developement tab. Even after uploading a new par, application is still pointing to old database.
While deploying, it wrote some log into error_log file as follows:

    Hi Nilz,
    > I got confused here
    Don't!
In NWDS, if you import a PAR, no JARs which are inside the PAR get imported. That's all (it's enough ).
    > The one using which i compiled my code
    > like htmlb.jar etc
NO! These are (hopefully) not inside your own PAR but only referenced!!!
    > When i imported a PAR file, the source code was there.
Then even with NWDS you shouldn't have any problems as the classes / JARs are compiled/created at PAR creation.
    > i am using Eclipse with SP2 plugins
Alltogether in your situation you are not confronted with an error but with a warnung. Obviously you don't have any code in the src.core section.
    Hope it helps

  • Very urgent where can I donwload alsb.jar ?????

I have installed Oracle/Middleware/Oracle_OSB1 on linux
I need alsb.jar in my classpath, but the one in Oracle/Middleware/Oracle_OSB1/lib/alsb.jar is empty it is only 1006 bytes.
I need a jar files that contians com.bea.wli.
I am getting this errors when I run my py file
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.IllegalStateException: Traceback (innermost last):
    [wlst] File "export.py", line 6, in ?
[wlst] ImportError: no module named wli

alsb.jar is not empty, it contains a manifest.mf. And its size is 1k.
most likely you need to set the correct classpath when you run WLST. Normally I run setDomainEnv.sh and it works.
wow, this was my 500th post, happy birthday to me!

  • Error in opening zip file after Patch 4 HF6 install

    Hello,
    Just upgraded to EP 6 SP 2 Patch 4 HF 6 on a Windows 2000/MSSQL instance.  In the cluster\server\managers\console_logs the error.log now contains the following;
error during parse of jar file D:\usr\sap\XXXA\j2ee\j2ee_00\cluster\server\services\servlet_jsp\work\jspTemp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.portal.runtime.admin.LoggingConsole\private\lib\com.sap.portal.runtime.admin.LoggingConsolecore.jar
java.util.zip.ZipException: error in opening zip file.
I also receive this error message for several other .jar files we've deployed.
Any ideas what steps need to be taken to correct this message?
    Regards,
    John

Here is a list of our .zip errors we see.  Two of these files are not 0-byte in length, they have been identified by a size at the end of the file.
Also, I am checking on the LoggingConsole.  I'll post something when I have an answer.

Try asking the same in proguard and j2mepolish forum..
Also, is this observation is for only one application or any other application you are building also would it depend on device you choose to build.
Also try with the latest proguard jars (4.4)

  • The applet fails to load. with 'red cross' screen JVM 1.6.19 and above

After updating the JVM to one of the latest version 1.6 builds, our users started to experience a problem with opening java applets.
All the users have JVM versions 1.6.0_19 – 1.6.0_26 on Windows 7/2008. The browser is IE8. On the server usually there is IIS7, with ‘Integrated Windows authentication’
on applet’s virtual folder. Applet’s classes are packaged into a signed JAR file. Both the client and the server are located in the same local area network with no proxy or firewall between them.
The applet’s website usually belongs to the trusted security zone. When loaded, the applet establishes HTTP connection to the server to get the necessary data.
When the user tries to open an HTML page containing the applet, there can be the following scenarios:
    1.     The applet fails to load. We’re getting a ‘red cross’ screen. All the HTML elements except of the applet are loaded OK.
From the IIS log we can see that the loading of the JAR file failed with the error code 401, the user name field in the log for the JAR is empty.
    2.     The java asks for the user name and password showing a popup ‘Authentication required’. At this moment we can see the following message in the Java console:
    network: Firewall authentication: site=/XX.XX.XX.XX:XX, protocol=http, prompt=, scheme=ntlm
If the user enters the correct credentials, the applet loads OK. Even if the user checks the ‘Save the password in your password list’ checkbox, Java continues to ask for credentials
on every page reload. It’s worth to note that the company’s external firewall doesn’t get any requests from the applet.
The problems happen even when the client and the server are located on the same machine, but never happens when we use localhost as the server name in the page URL.
During investigations we found out the following workarounds:
    1.     Enabling anonymous authentication on the virtual folder always solves the problem.
    2.     Sometimes, changing security zone from ‘Trusted’ to ‘Local intranet’ solves the scenario 2 (‘Authentication required’ popup) problem.
It’s worth to note that changing the security zone never helps if the page URL contains dots (for example, uses IP address instead the server name).
    3.     Upgrading to IE9 solves the scenario 2 problem partly: Java asks for the credentials only once.

I have the same issue. I use single sign-on with IIS 7 and Integrated Window authentication on the tomcat virtual folder. The applet jar file is on the root directory of the web application (the same level of index.html). So I use '.' as the code_base to call the applet from javascript.
So when I launch my web application into a browser, the auto-connection is successfully performed (single sign-on through Upstream, kerberos, remote_user, ...). But when I want to launch the applet in the web application, a new authentication panel (red panel with "authentication required") occurs in order to set credentials (login, password, domain) with the message in the java applet console:
    "network: Firewall authentication: site=myApplicationUrl, protocol=http, prompt=, scheme=ntlm"
So why the applet doesn't inherit previous credentials in this case ??
Have you solved this problem ?
    Thanks

in every ejb jar i have add the ejb-j2ee-engine.xml and in the war the web-j2ee-engine.xml
all the ejb are only BMP (bean persistent)
When i open the deploy tool, create a new project and try to load this ear, this error occurs reading the first ejb jar.
Error occured while trying to load ear fiel - incorrect EAR!

    why?
I get a lok to persistent.dtd and seem for only CMP entity.
I try to insert in every ejb jar a empty persistent.xml file, but nothing change.
    Any idea ?
    Thank You

    Hi Roberto,
You are absolutely right - persistent.xml describes the O/R mapping and some other properties of CMP entity beans, it is not used for BMP.
Instead of using the deploy tool, I would suggest to deploy your application with the Shell console administrator or the Visual Administrator tool. Have a look at
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/cb/6acf38422f0244b960236643e3cc46/frameset.htm
Server Administration -> J2EE Engine Administration Tools -> Shell Console Administrator
If you want not only to deploy your app but also to further develop it, it's better to use the NW Developer Studio - it is more sophisticated and provides more useful features than deploy tool.
    Hope this helps,

  • PE9 BD Burning problem answer (perhaps)

I burnt a BD disk with PE9 that will not play on my Pioneer player but plays OK in the computer and on an old Panasonic TV player.
It had no menus, start or stop markers.
I copied the m2ts file off the burnt disk back to my computer
I then burnt another BD disk using the previously burnt file using Cyberlink Powerproducer. This is a simple editor that came with my computer burner.
This produced a simple menu even though I did not ask for one.
It now plays perfectly  with no loss in quality on my Pioneer player. Pioneer claim their player will play BDAV and BDMV disks.
This suggests that there is something drastically wrong with PE9  BD burning system.
Any commments before I let them know?
The main difference was a folder name is differenty and  PE9 called the file 00000 while Power called it 00001.  PE9 contains a Certificate folder in the root directory. A few files in the first folder are different.
The following is the structure of the PE9 burnt disk
    BDMV
            index.bdmv
            MovieObject.bdmv
            AUXDATA  Empty

                    JAR (Folder)
                    PLAYLIST (Folder)
    CERTIFICATE (Folder) contains
             id.bdmv 1kb
The following is the structure of the Powerproducer burnt disk
    BDAV
        info.bdav    2k
        mark.td2    16k

    Thanks
I burned it using the normal (one and only way) that you do with PE9!
It definitely is a M2ts file on BOTH disks only the one burnt with PE9 wont play in my player, the other one will.
They both play identically in my computer and their quality is indistinguishable with the original files (1900x1080) on my similar monitor and TV.
I had lots of dissolves and split audio cuts and they all look perfect.
PE9 made the m2ts file that is now on both disks.
Also it is in a STREAM foilder.
If it was data one would think it would simply be in the root folder of the disk?
The PowerProducer added a simple menu to the disk even though I didnt ask for one and I had to start it by pressing Play whereas the PE9 one did not. The latter simply locking up the player in the 'play mode' when I inserted it so I couldn't even open the tray without removing power.
    Urrrgh!
What extension does you PE9 create on your blue ray disks?

  • How to add empty folder in a jar file ?

    Well
I know how to add files in a jar file but I cannot add empty folder.
I would like to do this so that when I get back the jar file I can have all the structure of the save main folder.
I also test that it is possible to do that on line with the "jar" command.
Does any of you know how to do this programacticaly ?
    Thanks in advance

         jos.putNextEntry(new JarEntry("directory/"));

    jar -tf <your_jar_file.jar>

  • Jar file is empty

    Hi,
I am trying to package a small application into a jar file, but besides the manifest, the jar comes out empty.
My directory structure is a s follows
    /mydir/src/ [java files and manifest.txt]
    /mydir/bin/[compiled java classes in packages]
    I run the following command from /mydir/src/: jar cmf manifest.txt ../bin/MyJar.jar ../bin
I understood that the last argument - ../bin should tell the utility to include all the contents of the bin directory - where my class files are. But they are not in the jar.

    alexxzius wrote:
jarring might not work on some computers (it doesnt on my XP). What you do is create a zip file, add all the files/folders with a META-INF folder with a MANIFEST.MF file in it and then rename it with a .jar extension.Well, IMHO what you do is fix your configuration so you can use the jar command. But to each his own.

  • Empty JDEV\j2ee\home\admin.jar

I tried to add a connection to a remote OC4J. When I tried to install DCM, I got this error:
    C:\JDeveloper\j2ee\home>java -jar admin.jar ormi://DOMAIN:1810 ias_admin PASSWORD -deploy -file C:\JDeveloper\dcm\lib\Oc4jDcmServlet.ear -deploymentName Oc4jDcmServlet

I found the reason of the error. My admin.jar file is empty! Only a manifest file in the jar. Do you guys know why? Where can I get the admin.jar file.
    Thanks!

    Yes.
    The first step is to:
    C:\JDeveloper\j2ee\home>java -jar admin.jar ormi://DOMAIN:1810 ias_admin PASSWORD -deploy -file C:\JDeveloper\dcm\lib\Oc4jDcmServlet.ear -deploymentName Oc4jDcmServlet
    I got this error:
Error: javax.naming.NamingException: Lookup error: java.io.EOFException: Disconn
    ected; nested exception is:
    java.io.EOFException: Disconnected
Search through the discussion board and the internet and found several people have exactly same problem, but no answers!
    Any clue?

  • Principals set empty when wlclient.jar used instead of weblogic.jar

    Hi,
I have a swing client that makes use of JAAS for security.
When I use weblogic.jar in classpath the client works perfectly. But if I use wlclient.jar in classpath the LoginContext.login() is working fine, loginContext.getSubject() is working fine, but subject.getPrincipals() is returning a empty set. I will be using this principals to display different screens for different principals. Does any one what the solution is?
    Thanks in advance
    Danny

With the thin client jars there is no current programmatic way that a client could ever retrieve the principals.
Thin client uses IIOP internally and so this is currently not possible

    Hi,
