Looking to add some functionality into Wiki pages??
Hi,
i am looking to add some functionality into SharePoint Wiki pages. There should be a comment section into the page, so that users can comments on the article, also wants to display list of people who ever read this article or visited that page. Please suggest
any expertise idea or link?

Note board is helpful to add comment box in page layout. Edit your page in designer and add this WP next to the <PublishingWebControls:RichHtmlField

For second task, you can utilize the web analytic feature but this will be applicable to whole site, not single page. So you may create a custom page and use code to generate report for single page.

I am working on an enterprise wiki site collection inside my SharePoint server 2013. And there was a requirement to automatically generate wiki pages from word documents. As I read that the built-in service within SharePoint does not support importing the
pictures within the word documents. So I looked into 3rd party tools and I settle on the “Kaboodle Word to Wiki” link
which will manage to convert word docs into wiki pages, with only minor layout problems.
But I want to know if there are additional tools which support the following:-
Converting pdf files to SharePoint wiki pages.
Exporting SharePoint wiki pages into pdf and word documents?
RegardsI haven't seen any third party tool converting pdf files to SharePoint wiki pages and and exporting SharePoint wiki pages into pdf and word files.
You need to write custom feature where you can use iTextSharp pdf for pdf conversion. you can also check below blog which shows the export of SharePoint Wiki to Word/PDF without 3rd party tools:

is it possible for a user to
paste images into SharePoint 2013 wiki pages while editing.
MPthere is no OOTB way to do this, you have to insert it from computer or sharepoint. SharePoint needs that image store into the images library.
other way is embed int the page using HTML tags but this is not recommended.

Unable to add PDF docs into WPC pages?
HI All,
I'm using the Home Page layout in WPC to create a web page.
But I'm not able to add PDF document in those pages.
I added the MIME types to wpc_container_def_main1, ..main2 & ..main3 containers in Content Management configuration.
But it didn't work.
How do I add the pdfs then?

I know that we can create a KM document iview to access PDF/image/doc thru KM repository.
But my requirement is, to add the PDF file directly in to WPC page for SAP Standard layout.

Reader mode available on only some of the wiki pages.
Long story short I have a script that runs to create a back up of the info in our wiki. The script is set to change the view to reader mode so that the info extracted is cleaner without all the wiki buttons etc. My issue is that the Lion Server's Wiki does not seem to generate a reader view for all pages only some. Can't seem to find what determins if the page gets the reader option or not. Anyone out there know?

You missed off the S from sports.
I'm no expert but until one turns up I have an idea for you to think about.
When you move to one of your gallery pages it appears that you are losing the URL to your slideshow or the javascript. This might be because the gallery folder is one step removed from the root than the other pages.
You might need to change the paths to take account of that added level or move the gallery pages up a level.
Hope I made that clear and like I say, I'm no expert.
Did you define your site in Dreamweaver?

Page Title Option in SharePoint 2013 Wiki Page.
In SharePoint 2013, How can I add title to the page that is created under Site Pages library, out of the box I don’t see any option to add title under “Edit Properties section” , please find the attached screenshot.

Based on your description, my understanding is that you want to add Title to a wiki page from Site Pages library in SharePoint 2013.
By default, when we edit a wiki page’s properties, the Title is not displaying. If you want to change the Title of a wiki page, you can modify the current view and add the Title into the view, then use “Quick Edit” to change the Title.
If you want to add the Title property into a wiki page, you can do via SharePoint Designer 2013.
The steps are:
Open your site with SharePoint Designer 2013.
Click “Site Pages” from the left panel, then click the page that you used and click “Edit file”.
Find the content place holder with ID “PlaceHolderPageTitle”, then add the following code into the below of the content place holder.
<asp:Content ContentPlaceHolderID="PlaceHolderPageTitleInTitleArea" runat="server">
<SharePoint:ListItemProperty Property="Title" runat="server"/>
</asp:Content>
The result looks like:
Note: when you edit the page in SharePoint Deisgner 2013, make sure it is in Advanced Mode.

I need help using multiple content types in a wiki page library
I currently trying to used multiple custom content types based off of the wiki page content type in one wiki page library.
EDIT: "Allow management of content types" has been enabled with the designer
The way i would like this library to work is:
Click the "Files" tab in the ribbon
Click the "New Document" drop down menu
Select one of the content types (Client, Contact, Project)
SharePoint Will Ask for the Page Name and content type fields
Click create
Then it will take you to the new created page.
This issue I'm currently having is when i click on one of the options (Client, Contact, Project) it will ask for a page name then you have to check it in to get to the edit form. The edit form it then loads is the default content type and not the selected
content type.
So my questions are.
Is there any way i can combine the page name and edit steps together into one step?
How can I get the edit form to pull from the selected content type?

James T.FWiki library isn't really designed for customizations... it's a "special" library that overrides a lot of default behavior... similar evidence can be found if you're trying to add metadata columns to wiki pages... they're just not really designed to handle

Wireless wiki pages -- refresh needed?
I spent some time today reviewing the current linuxwireless docs regarding iw. I feel like the current wiki pages on wireless (and some of the standard networking wiki stuff) is a bit out of date, but I wanted to see if others concurred.
I'm happy to draft some update edits, though others might be in a better position to state whether there is need.
I'm thinking of:
ip replacing ifconfig (general networking)
iw replacing iwconfig
/run in lieu of /var in various config examples
All these are, I think, current based on existing official ISOs.

I'll do that (i've been tweaking the wpa_supplicant page already, but I wanted to take baby steps and double check to ensure that I have my details correct, as well as that they are in line with the current ISOs at minimum).
I also had some thoughts on restructuring some of those wiki pages for clarity. It seemed to me that in any case of "large" structural changes it might be better if I created a new draft article in the wiki for review. That's not something I'm going to jump into just yet, but wanted to field this idea now. Basically I wanted to rewrite some things but don't want to make them officially part of the page via an edit without other's feedback first. -
IPhone/iPod Touch can't play movies placed into wiki
I have been testing the wiki services on our new Leopard Servers and have come up against a really annoying problem I cannot view movies placed into wiki pages using our iPhones and iPod Touch systems. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

How to force my Wiki Page Title to get the same value as the wiki page Name
I am working on an enterprise wiki site collection, and currently each wiki Page will have two properties that seems confusing; Name & Title.
While the default edit form allow to edit the Wiki Page Name only , it does not provide a way to edit the Title.
So my question is about how I can update the Wiki Page title to be always equal to the Wiki Page name that the user enters?
For example when I first create a wiki page I miss-spell the word “Bookmark”, so I wrote the following for the wiki page name:-
Add Bokkmarks Within a Wiki Page.
Then I edit the page and I change the name to have a correct spelling, so currently I got the following , where the title is still having the wrong spelling:-
So that why I am want to find a way to always update the page title to be equal to the page name? can anyone advice on this please?
