Lookup Issue in ODI

Hi there,
I need to do lookup in source tables and insert the result to target table in an ODI interface.
I have source table s_table1 with:
s_table1 columns:
LV1_ID_COLUMN, LV2_ID_COLUMN, LV3_ID_COLUMN, ... LV15_ID_COLUMN
I need to use the LVx_ID column value to lookup its name and other value from another source table s_table2:
s_table2:
ID_COLUMN NAME VALUE
======== ===== ======
LV1_ID LV1_NAME LV1_VALUE
LV2_ID LV2_NAME LV2_VALUE
LV3_ID LV3_NAME LV3_VALUE
And target table is:
t_table:
LV1_ID_COLUMN, LV1_NAME_COLUMN, LV1_VALUE_COLUMN, LV2_ID_COLUMN, LV2_NAME_COLUMN, LV2_VALUE_COLUMN, LV3_ID_COLUMN, LV3_NAME_COLUMN, LV3_VALUE_COLUMN ...
What would be the best way to do this? Looks to me if in interface I imported the source table s_tables2 15 times, I can join each id column in s_table1 with id column in s_table2 and get the name/value for each ID_COLUMN in s_table1, but it would be a mess.
My requirement is a simple lookup with an input data, one lookup table, and a couple of output data. What would be the right way to do it in ODI?
Thanks!

Hi-
If I understood your requirement completely then this would be an ideal solution. Please let me know if not.
You can create a single interface with 2 source tables (s1, s2 joined on the basis of s_table1.LV1_ID_COLUMN=s_table2.LV1_ID) and 1 target datastore.
Then in your target datastore mapping, you can give like this:
LV1_ID
LV1_NAME
LV1_VALUE
LV2_ID
LV2_NAME
LV2_VALUE

  • Issues with ODI connection to Hyperion Financial Management

    Hi,
I am having some issues with ODI connection to Hyperion Financial Management. ODI and Financial management are setup on different machines.
The ‘Cluster(Data Server)’ name in Topology is given as ‘hfm03cl’. On reverse-engineering a model it gives the following error:
    org.apache.bsf.BSFException: exception from Jython:
    Traceback (innermost last):
    File "<string>", line 38, in ?
com.hyperion.odi.common.ODIHAppException: Error occurred in driver while connecting to Financial Management application [HFM1] on [hfm03cl] using user-name [admin].
    at com.hyperion.odi.hfm.ODIHFMAppConnection.<init>(ODIHFMAppConnection.java:58)
When HFM is installed on the same machine, it works fine. How does ODI identify a cluster on a different machine? Do I have to give the machine name along with the cluster name? If so, what is the format?
    Thanks,
    Su

You will need to have the HFM client installed on any machine that will be running ODI (i.e. Designer or Agent) that will be executing connections to an HFM server.
Once you have the HFM client installed, see if you can actually connect to HFM from that machine using the HFM client.
Couple of other thing, in the Physical Schema, have you set the Application Catalog and Work Catalog to the same HFM application?
Also, when you are reversing, are you using the local agent or one you have installed using agentservice?

  • What is the use of lookup tranformation in odi

    Hi Experts,
What is the use of lookup transformation in ODI.
In ODI we use different kinds of joins, so my doubt is what is the difference between lookup transformation joins and normal joins we use in ODI.
Please let me know with your valueable information.

  • Hyperion Planning- Account dimension - Sort Order Issue with ODI 11.1.1.5

    Hello Experts,
First of all, I thank you everybody in this forum for posting their valuable suggestions.
I am facing a strange issue with ODI (Version 11.1.1.5) while loading metadata to Planning ACCOUNT dimension (Version 11.1.2.x). I am using a Oracle view to load metadata to this dimension. I have defined the sort order in the view and enabled SORT_ORDER_BY_INPUT. For the fresh load to the dimension, everything is working fine. But, when I move a member from one parent to another parent, and define it as the top member of new parent, it is missing its sort order.
But it is working fine if you define it as the second, third...or last member under new parent. I have tried all the possible ways by flipping all the properties but unable to fix it.
Please help me here to resolve this issue.
    Your help is greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks

To be honest I think you are best logging it with Oracle because it sounds like you are doing everything correctly so it could be a bug.
Have you tested this on any previous versions of ODI or is it a new installation?
If it does get logged with Oracle please keep me informed of the outcome as I would be interested to hear.

  • Basic Issue with ODI interface

    Hi All,
I have a very strange problem.
I am coding my second interface in ODI.
    Its very simple
Joining 4 tables ,with one filter and connect it with the target table.
The interface when executed runs fine, without any error.
But the target table doesn't get populated.
So when i check the ODI interface at every step via the Operator navigator,I get no error at any step.
step1) drop a table (this comes as a warning as no table exists)
step2) create a view(this step suceeds ,but when i check the database the view is not created)
STEP 2 is a real issue and I can't understand as to why this view is not
getting created in database, when the step completes successfully
Pls can someone suggest where should i look for ?
    rgds
    s

I can relate to your issue.
ODI does this to me all the time.
The Operator logs show all greens and show no error, but no data makes its way to the Target.
I usually remove one mapping at a time and re-run the Interface. That helps me pin-point what might be the issue. Very frustrating.

  • JNDI lookup issue in weblogic 10 server

    Hi all,
I have a serious problem in getting the datasource lookup. My application uses EJB3 and JPA and it is deployed in weblogic10. I configured datasource in the domain (ex:mydomain) using weblogic 10 admin console. Now when i try to call from a client program, it is giving me javax.naming.NameNotFoundException. I use eclipse IDE to deploy the application. From the IDE, i can start the oracle 10.3 server and it automatically deploys the application into the server in mydomain. The admin console shows that the application deployed fine. And i can see the webcontent WAR file and EJB jar deployed. Coming back to the issue.... I verified user_projects\domains\mydomain\config\jdbc\datasource-jdbc.xml and user_projects\domains\mydomain\config\config.xml file enteries. My entries are present in those files.
When i start the server i am getting below error...

  • PI 7.1 EHP1 RFC Lookup- Issue

    Friends,
I'm seeing one strange issue in RFC Lookup behavior in my PI 7.1 EHP1 . Please give me some ideas for the same
Please see the below image for what I have done and what I'm seeing in the display queue.
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/8764045@N06/4642237515/sizes/o/
To make it more simple - When I click on the Display queue on RFC lookup, I can see some 20 values with context changed. I removed my context and passed it to the UDF. When I check the input length in the UDF it's always giving 1, even though the display queue gives me 20 values.
    Any ideas?

  • Issue with ODI 11.1.1.5 with Essbase 11.1.2.1

    Hi all,
We have Just upgraded ODI 10.1.3.6 to ODI 11.1.1.5 both are using Oracle as the Repository.
After the Upgrade we do have issue with interface which extracts data from the Essbase 11.1.2.1 to Oracle DB
Essbase: LKM Herion Essbase DATA to SQL
    Staging: LKM SQL to Oracle
    Target: IKM Oracle Incremental Update
When we select the "Staging is diff from Target" the Flow Disappears, with a critical Error message
"Staging Area is loaded by an LKM but target datastore does not reference any columns from a source datastore. Either uncheck the box "Staging area different from target" or add source column references in the target."
This is reported as a bug by the development.
When this option is Unchecked the Flow appears again.
But even with the "Staging is diff from Target" is unchecked when i execute the interface i get the following error message,

  • Time stamp issue in odi

    Hi,
In my interface I am using txt.file as source and target is oracle. Here I am facing problem with time stamp and below are the details provided.
Details: We are getting a flat file from the source in which we are getting one of the columns as time stamp (2013032710101010) and we need to populate it in a stage table column OPTOUT_DATE which is of type DATE.
We are facing issue in loading this TIMESTAMP data into DATE data type.
    Km for this is,
    Lkm file to sql,
    Ikm sql incremental update,
    ckm sql.
Can you please suggest us how to handle this.
    Thx,
    Sahadeva,
    9986928587.

    Ok thank you..
I have one more doubt this moment.
What it is means, In the Interface level of ODI we have staging are different from target. Here we have SUNOPSIS_MEMORY_ENGINE. Can you please tell what is the use of this in ODI.
    1.     How this works internally?
    2.     Can we use it as our target/Source as well?
    4.     Is it possible to retain data in the memory for later use?
So if you explain me more brief about these three questions that would be very much better and also helpful for me. Because I am going to develop
one POC doc(Proof Of Concept) on this.
    Thx,
    Sahadeva.

  • Can we replicate Informatica Lookup transformation in ODI Interface?

So was just wondering if we could replicate a lookup transformation in an ODI join of some sort where in only one value is returned for multiple matches of the same item....something like a max for a group or something while joining 2 tables...
    So for example I have 2 tables...A columns (Attendee_id,xyx,byx)
    B columns (partnerid,attendee_id,xyz,bxc)
I want to join table A and B on Attendee_id and get the partner_id---but I want only one record in case of multiple matches for a particular attendee_id
    can we do this??

No responses yet...Ive tried doing a left outer join...but it still returns all the matches...I want to return only one record....ne help from the xperts?

  • Lookup issue when staging area diff from target

    Hi,
I am using staging area different from target (csv file to database)
Everything is working fine the source data is moved to target. The interface runs suiceessfuly.
Now i want to add a lookup during transformation using a lookup table.
When i do that using lookups in quick edit section, i am getting an error.
When i run the interface, the C$ gets created in staging area - that is correct.
However when inserting from staging to target, now the ODI searches for the C$ table in target area instead of the staging..
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Rosh

    Hi
1st thing you have to give the workschema for temp tables when creating physical schema in dataserver for target.
Then you have to select the workschema in overview of interface as "staging different from target".
After doing this when you will use predefined KM for the interface it will create temp tables in workschema.
Now suppose you are not giving the workschma at the time of creating physical schema and you have selected "staging different than target" in interface. Here your C$ table will be created in your workschema but I$ table that is used by IKM is going to be created on target schema. So for this again you have change the IKM KM i.e. where to create I$ table (wokrschema) by selecting the corresponding logical schema.
So its better you give the workschema at the time of creating physical schema.
Here is the query to give privilege by the sys_dba
Grant create any table to ODI_TEMP.
    Hope you got it

  • Code lookup issue Flash Builder 4 B2

Had this issue before with flash builder 4 beta 2 where the code look up will not work
While working thru Day 4 EX 4.1
"Using code lookup to generate the click event will present you with the Generate Click Handler option in the code lookup window (see Figure 4). Click the option or press the Enter key to use the option to generate a function."
Have no problem seeing the code look up for the <s:Button> however once I get the click will not show code look up for Generate Click Handler window.. is there a way to get this to run.. to move foreward with the exercise I just wrote out the code..is there a way to trigger the code look up?

Mark - so you see click in the drop down and you select it so that your code now says:
    <s:Button click="" />
and the code lookup now shows "Generate Click Handler" between the click double quotes?
What happens if you place your cursor between the double quotes in the click event and type ctrl+spacebar?
Can you share a screenshot of what's happening?

  • Systinet UDDI - SOA SUITE 11G (Dynamic SOAP end point lookup Issues)

    Hi,
We are using Systinet as our UDDI product and trying to use UDDI lookup in our BPEL process as well. I have completed the below tasks
    1) Configured the Systinet UDDI Inquiry URL and the development soap endpoint in the SOA Infrastructure Common properties in soa server 11g. Did not provide the user-id and
    password.
    2) Restarted the servers so that the changes are effective.
    3) In Jdeveloper 11g, Created a connection with UDDI Registry.
    4) Created a sample BPEL process using Jdeveloper 11g that calls an already registered webservice in UDDI. This lookup web service has 3 different end
points (Dev, QA and Prod) and a binding of wsdlDeployment use type. The binding points to the actual wsdl Physical location.

    6) Generated the Configuration plan by right clicking the Composite.xml

not take it to consideration the end point provided in the configuration plan.

    Questions / Issues
    1) Why the registry search is being done in all the endpoints and is not searching only on the development end point provided in the configuration plan. I
added the SOAP endpoint in the service reference properties on the server as well, but still is searching on all the end points
    2)     Not able to determine the root cause for the SRHttpAccessPointNotFoundException error observed. Please refer the above log for details.
Please advice and let me know if there is more information required.
    Thanks
    Raj

I supposed to make my previous question more concrete, the first answer I need before moving on to the rest of the bigger questions is this ...
What is Oracle’s recommendation for a services invocation framework between BPEL, JEE and ESB containers? From a quick read of Oracle Technet website, WSIF seem to be the preferred framework for this purpose. However, from an equally quick survey of such frameworks in use today outside of Oracle, WSIF does not seem to enjoy any widespread developer community support anymore and all talk in public forum seem to point to newer Apache Frameworks such as CXF which support emerging standards such as JAX-WS 2.0 What is the current stand of Oracle with respect to this matter?

  • Jyhton issue with ODI upgrade

    Hi,
I am trying to execute the jython script but when i execute this part
    d = glob.glob(src + os.sep + 'd33*cts.txt') i am getting the following error :Traceback (innermost last):
    File "<console>", line 1, in ?
AttributeError: class 'org.python.modules.os' has no attribute 'sep'
We have upgraded the repository from SunopsisV3 to ODI 10.1.3.4.2 version.
Can anyone what has to be done with this issue.

I also have the same problem. I have a shell script that is being called by ODI. The last line within that shell script is an ESSCMD batch script. I verified that the paths to all files are fully qualified. However I can't get the script to run in ODI. Did anyone ever find the solution to getting ESSCMD batch scripts to run within ODI?
