Lookup Table Insertions to OAF Page

Hello friends,
1)i have added new rows to the lookup’s in oracle apps, this lookups i am making one query and create the Vo to populate these values into dropdown of OAF pages.but they are not always available to the OAF pages until Apache is bounced.
2)I have a program name drop down list in OAF page, where the data is coming from oracle apps lookups.i added XX, XX2 & XX3 program name lookups. When I went to the OAF page none of the values were available in the Program Name drop-down. I bounced Apache and then they appeared.
3)sometimes i added programs through lookups , I went to the OAF Page and it was available to choose. I didn’t have to bounce Apache this time.
I’ve seen this happen a few times. Do you know why? can any one have an idea how this was happend.

kumar , see my requirement is below.
1) i have search page , in that i have a detail icon to navigate detail page - i am carrying some values from search page to detail page. carrying values should read only in detail page.
2) based on the detail page , carrying values data - i want to render poplist.
ex: in search page i have deptid,dname, loc, email- these values are carrying to detail page with read only. i have a ename pooplist in detail page . based on the values(deptid,dname, loc, email) rendering detail page , i want to display ename poplist data. for this i am doing this below approach.
1. Created a viewObject VO.
2. Added it to the ApplicationModule of the page.
3. Created the poplist with required properties..
i set the "Picklist View Instance" to VO added in the rootAM(for example, PoplistVO1).
4. To change the whereClause based on the input parameter use following eg code in your processRequest()

Need to populate sequence value in a field after insert in oaf page

I have a custom OAF insert page in that i need to populate a sequence value to a field once the data inserted successfully to the table.
so for that i followed the below approach.
1>Created a sequence in database.
2>In the EOImpl java file in the setter method for the respective field have written below code.

Column Totals of a table region in OAF Page

Hi,
    I developed a custom OAF page with a table region (NOT an Advanced table region). It has several columns and one of them is a flag column of checkbox type and also there is amount column.
My requirement is to display totals on the amount column based on the flag value. So if there are 4 records out of which 3 of them have flag = "Y"
then at footer level, one line should display Total Amount when flag = "Y"   as sum(amount_column) with flag = "Y"
and another line should display : Total Amount when flag = "N" as sum(amount_column) with flag = "N".
Can anybody help me how I can accomplish this?
Note: I tried to use "Total" property to "True" but it is displaying data irrespective of my flag value. Some how, I should be able to filter the total based on the flag column. Also I need to display as one total per each flag value...
Please note that I am using Table region NOT Advanced table region.....I appreciate of some one can give me detailed steps to accomplish this. Thanks

    We cannot avoid that. but an alternate is that use another table above this table and which has the number of rows as zero. hide the table header for the below table. you need to adjust the header of above table so that it fits for the below table.
This works fine if the table doesn't have sorter facility.

How to display an image of BLOB type from a Table in an OAF page?

My requirement is that in the database table images gets saved of type BLOB and i have to display these images in my OAF page .I looked in OA developers guide and followed the instruction but unable to achieve my requirement .As per the developers guide "I created an item of type messageDownload ,in the viewattribute i set the view attribute FileData and File View Attribute FileContentType the table used is FND_LOBS" but i couldn't achieve anything.
Please help me and if possible give me exact way to achieve it as i am new to this framework.

Map the database table columns to the Table region columns. For image column set the item style as "Messagedownload". Set the View Instance (VO) , View Attibute Name (image name) and View Attribute Data (blob col).

How to control the width of the columns in a table in the oaf page?

Need to upload a CSV/Excel to a table in OAF page

I have an updatable products table on a OAF page. I need to provide that table with an 'Upload' button, On clicking, user should be able to browse for the excel/csv(It contain some products) file from local desktop and be able to upload it into products table.
Any idea how this can be done?
Do we need to use messageFileUpload> get DataObject>> convert to StringBuffer>>> and break it into rows >>>>insert each row thru VO >>>>> refresh the VO?
Is that the process or do we have any other process. If so could you please point out to some examples of using messageFileUpload?

Not able to create rows in a table with dependent columns in an OAF page.

We have a table in an OAF page which has the property "Records Displayed" set as "10". Hence pagination kicks in for more than 10 rows in the table. "Add rows" is enabled in this table. The table also has 'detail' component.
In this table, we have created 2 new columns (dropdowns) using personalization. Dropdown 2 is dependent on the value selected in Dropdown1. Both are required fields.
We are able to add new rows to the table. All the columns render properly. Dropdown 2 also renders properly depending on the values selected in Dropdown1. There is no issue until we add the 10th row (remember the number of displayed records in the tabble is 10). When we add the 10th row, the fields appear properly. Dropdown1 values are displayed as expected. But when we select a value in Dropdown1, Dropdown2 does not refresh and get populated with the expected values (depending on Dropdown1 values). Dropdown2 remains blank. But this happens only when the 10th row is added. Since Dropdown2 is a required field and since Dropdown2 is not refreshed with values depending on Dropdown1, the records cannot be saved.
There seems to be a problem with refresh when the nth row is added to the table where 'n' is the Records displayed in the table (pagination).
If we change the Records Displayed to say 15 then we have the above problem when adding the 15th row. 14 rows can added to the table without an issue.
Can a workaround (other than increasing the number of displayed records) be provided for this issue?

I suspect you have written a method having String return type but the method does not have return statement.
Go to the Catalogue component->BPM Object->Right click on the BPM object and select New Method->Give the method name. Now the method window will be opened. Go to the propertied tab of the right most panel. Set the return type as string. In the method window editor write your business logic. The below mentioned code is for sample one.

7- Creare View Link between LocationVO and DepartmentVO (Based On LocToDeptAO) --> LocToDeptVL

9- Add LocaionVO to Application Module, then add DepartmentVO Via (LocToDeptVL)

I have an advance table on my OAF custom page, this table have checkbox column. I need to implement the solution when user selects some rows in this table and then press submit button on the page. So new OAF page is opened and on that page i need to show those lines which user selected in previous step.
The problem is that right now i have this selection checkbox tight to VO attribute which updates table and then on submit do commit and on another page i'm just selecting rows which have this flag set. But what i'm looking for is - do not make commit and changes on database data, but pass the selected rows as kind of parameter to other page or something like this.
Could you please give me any suggestions of how is the better way to implement this solution?

Make a transient VO, and insert all the lines the user has checked.Share the same AM in other page and while redirecting retain AM. On this page show the lines from the transient VO.Another option could be utilizing session.

How to enable the DFF in OAF page(where Dff is based on the custom table).

Hi Experts!!
I am in the process of enabling the dff in OAF page. I am not able to enable the dff if am using the Custom table.
Ex:
Assume that my DFF XX_DFF is using the custom table XX_TABLE of att1,att2..
I am able to enable the dff in OAF page but not able to make those values entered to get stored in the custom table.
I need helping hands to help me out to get the entered dff values stored in my custom table.
Kindly provide me the steps so that I can follow up..

How to Update Particular row in a table from OAF page

Hi Can anyone please help me on the following requirement:
In my oaf page i am displaying table values(supplier site details from base tables) with update and delete icons . When i click on update button a new page opens in which we used to update the values and click on apply button which again comes back to the original page.
So when i click on apply button on update page i have to first search for the site in the site table whether it exists or not, if not exists i have to create a new row and save the data, if site exists in the table i have to update the row of a table for that particular site. I have written code for this but unable to achive the requirement, it is not updating the existing row of the table. And i am doing all this on the Temp tables.
So now when i save, previous transaction is also updating along with the current transaction. That means when i m trying to save 2nd transaction values , 1st transactions values are getting updated with the 2nd transaction values(2 rows are getting updated)
Can anyone help me with the code used for updating the current row of the table. Please correct me if i m doing anyting wrong in code.

Please answer following:
1. Are you using EO based VOs or ReadOnly VO?
2. What is your VO Query for the search and update?
3. Why have you based your logic on site_name; you should have used site_id?
4.Are you getting correct site name in handling createECdetailsEvent event in CO?
5. In case of update are you getting correct values on the Update Site Details?
6. On coming back from Update page to Supplier Site Search page, do you see old values of the site or the new values in the results table?

Help needed in Loading excel data to staging table from OAF Page

Hi All,
We have a requirement from the client on loading of a excel sheet data into staging table using OAF page.
We were able to load a CSV file into staging table via OAF. The approach we used is we created a item of style 'messageFileUpload', which would pick the CSV file from desktop and we wrote the logic on the controller to place the file into server and then sumit a concurrent program to load the data into the staging table.
But client wants data from the excel file to be loaded into staging table. Is there any way(approach) by which we can convert the excel file data into .CSV file using OAF?
Any help or pointers on this will be highly apperciated.

Dynamic layout of table in OAF page

Hi,
I have a requirement where, i need to generate a table layout with changing columns in OAF page.
Ex: If i search a job in OAF page, depending on the job family, the results table displays the number of columns. (My number of rows is constant but the columns changes)
Please let me know if anyone worked on it and if it can be achieved using PPR.
