Loosing bindings

when I am check out with version control (SVN) loosing the bindings of the page (views, entities bind with datacontrols). we are using jdevloper 11.1.1.0.1 and SVN.

how ever, I created a page and binded with datacontrols (Eg. view object) it will work fine at first time. after commited with SVN(version contol) and taken a new check outed source
and try to run the same page, it will loosing all binding of the page and asking that "do you want to create a new pageDef file" . the return type is null.
please give me a solution

Regularly loosing bindings to underlying data

Hi,
In creating dashboards, I regularly loose some (or all) bindings from my charts or other components to the underlying Excel sheet. There's no specific trigger that I can think of: sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. I get the impression (but can not proove it) that it happens when XCelsius is open, and I'm doing other stuff in Excel at the same time.
This behaviour has already cost me several hours/days in the past, even still yesterday. I have several large dashboards, and you can imagine it takes time and effort to go through all components and check whether they are still bound or not, and to set the ranges again when they aren't.
Does anyone have the same experience? Is there some tool which allows me to save the settings from all components and reload them from there in case of problems (would save me a lot of time!)?
BTW: I'm using XCelsius Engage 5.3.3.0, build 12.3.3.980, Excel 2007 and Windows Vista.
Any suggestions?

Hi guys,
Though both valid suggestions I would be rather disappointed if that was all there was to it. I do save my work regularly in different versions, I do all my Excel work in Excel and then import the file, I do try to avoid using Excel when having Xcelsius open, but there are times when I'm working on a dashboard, get interrupted, need to verify something in another file later and then open Excel before realizing that I still have the dashboard open...
I would expect tat this behaviour would be solved within the product (I'm struggeling since years with this), or at least that I get a message when trying to launch Excel while in development mode...

Correct way of starting compiz fusion on GNOME

This is actually a really minor issue, but something that has been irritating me for a while.
I've experimented with two ways of starting compiz fusion, first adding fusion-icon to the session startup list. However, this results in metacity being loaded and then compiz fusion being loaded afterwards, which created this flicker which I don't really like.
The second way is adding another xsession that sets WINDOW_MANAGER to something else and then starting the gnome session. On Gnome 2.22 this works somewhat. If I set WINDOW_MANAGER to "compiz ccp" everything works fine, except that it doesn't load emerald and doesn't start with loose-bindings (expected). Then I tried setting it to "compiz ccp --loose-bindings"; this caused it to hang at the gnome splash screen for a good 2-3 minutes, also anyting else other than "compiz ccp" caused the same hang. Setting it to fusion-icon, or compiz-manager, also caused the same hang.
Now on Gnome 2.24, the WINDOW_MANAGER var doesn't seem to do anything anymore, and the only way I can start compiz before the gnome session is to run compiz ccp &, fusion-icon &, etc. before exec gnome-session. This however, causes my screen to go black and hang for about a few minutes before working normally.
Am I doing something wrong? I want compiz fusion to be used as my window manager instead of metacity, is there no easy way of doing that? or do I have to resort to loading metacity and then replacing it with compiz fusion?

There still seems to be a noticable delay between fusion-icon is loaded and the desktop being usable.
I'm experiencing the same. I was going insane trying to load compiz INSTEAD of metacity as per http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Com … sion.22.29. Oh well, I guess it can't be done. WIERD.
The annoying thing about this is that if I start up programs and they start before compiz is loaded, wierd things happen (like buttons missing on the top etc). Also, I can't for the life of me get session-management to work with compiz-fusion and gnome 2.24..

Do you really need every column from all the tables you are
joining?
Maybe its too many for Dreamweaver. Try specifying just the
ones you
actually need on the page, this will also speed up the
execution of your
query.

Bindings for components conatined in a Table are not working

Hello everybody
I have a table which contains some columns which include TextField components. The problem is that on submit the values contained in the textfields are not set on the object(s) of the source ObjectListDataProvider I have my Table RowGroup sourceData property bound to.
I checked the actual HTTP request and I noticed that the parameters are actually POSTed along with their values. It's really strange because I know everything is there. I did everything I do in normal situations(in other words having components outside a table and binding them accordingly).
I tried adding an object to the ObjectListDataProvider which contains some values and the bindings worked in that case. I mean the values are displayed. But if I try to submit again with new values assigned to the textfields on response the values are NOT CHANGED!!!
Can anyone give me a hint?

My experience is that the data in a object lista data provider loose all data when the page is submitted and that this is a huge problem and disadvantage with the table component in Creator. The only way to make an action happen on row-level is to initialize the object list data provider again in Preprocess. Before you leave Prerender must you store the list in a Requestbean och Sessionbean and then re-initialize the object list data provider in Preprocess either by reading the database again or using the list you holding in your managed beans.
This means that things that you change in the grid must be stored in managed bean before you leave Prerender and then moved back to your object list data provider in Preprocess before you update the database in the action method.
Note that I always taking care of database updates by myself and I'm not using therefore Creators database components. Do not know if the table component works better together with these?!

Loosing bind params

We are having a problem with our application that we loose our bind parameters after a while.
There is a view object that has a bind param called p_id. Which we set by using setp_id and perform executyQuery inside coding. If we leave the page alone for around 1 hour and try to load it again, we get an empty page back and looking at the bc4j logging the bindings try to do a executeQuery and bind "null" to p_id. If we open up another page which has a apply bindparam we get the correct p_id again.
Has anyone any idea what the problem might be?
Do we have to add an applyBindparam binding/invoke to each page?
Is this caused by a difference between web session timeout and AM timeout? (web session has a 180 min timeout and AM has default setting)
Or do we need to call a pagebinding in order to set bind variables iso binding it with code and executing it manualy.

Nobody can tell without knowledge of your jdev version and the technology you are using for UI, middle tier and db.
There have been reports in early 10.3.1 versions going in the direction, that bind parameters are not stored is the application module is passivated.
The best thing to do is to test the app without application module pooling. This pooling can be turned off in the configuration of the application module. After turning it of each call to the application module gets passivated and activated again, simulating a timeout for every request.

If you mean Apple IDs, they can't be merged at all.
If you mean iTunes libraries, import the content and playlists from one to the other.
You can have content from multiple Apple IDs in one library.

I have just done a custom run on my Ipod touch 2nd Gen of 12k. When I finished the run is appearing in my run history on my iPod touch, however it is not appearing in my itunes 'Nike+' tab, or on the Nike + website. I can't seem to get this run to sync and it is really annoying because I'll be loosing 12k. Can anyone help or has experienced this before? I know there are solutions to add runs to iPod nano's and older iPods using the 'Enable disk' and iPod_control function however from what I'm aware you cannot do this on an iPod touch. Can anyone please help?

They would only be where you put them. What program did you use to import them? Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer.

I'm using JDev version 11.1.1.6.0.
My use case is mention below :
1. I've created 2 Bounded task flows and calling one task flow from another task flow using task flow call activity.
2. In child task flow, i've created view activities with Train component. View activities have text fields, radios buttons, tables etc which can be filled by user.
3. I want to save the page data to payload if I move to next view activity using Next button or by train bar.
To accomplish this scenario, I'm calling a customized actionListener on click of Next button/Train Stop Bar in which I'm using below mention code :

Yes, it is the same binding which is called from BPM Save button.
I did not use the debugger but i tried to print the OperationBinding object which was showing me proper binding for update.
Even when i tried to print the return value of invokeActionBean.action(); method, it print the proper string "closeTaskFlow".
So if I see it logically, then I'm just trying to call the methods of InvokeActionBean from my customized method.
If methods of InvokeActionBean not being accessed, or if it was not getting called, then it should not print the "closeTaskFlow" as return value.
I only want to save page data into bindings once I'll move away from page precisely on moving next.
If there is any other work around for this issue, please let me know.
I've also tried to use Explicit/Implicit save points provided by ADF but that did not work too.

Is anyone having a problem with the new iPad (Gen. 3) not staying connected to the charger? It seems to ALWAYS get jiggled loose and no longer be charging. My iPad 1 has no issue but I can't browse Internet w/o new iPad unplugging. Horrible!

I notice that my new IPad (3rd generation) will not stay connected to the power cord at all, I'm not exagerating, if I plug it in and browse the Internet without fail it will become unplugged and I will have to push the plug back in (Ba-beep). Ive actually grown to despise that sound when you plug your iPhone or iPad in because it reminds me of how much money I spent on something that PHYSICALLY will not charge while I'm using it.
I know the problem with it holding a charge while in use, I get it, the screen is amazing and it takes a lot to run the display, however, it is unacceptable to me that I can't even keep the thing plugged in while I'm using it. I can not even leave it on my Cal King bed overnight because I will wake up in the morning to find that the plug has been jiggled loose in a corner, so it's still attached but not making a connection thus not being charged.
I love the 4GLTE from Verizon and I love the iPad, but I'm actually using my 1st generation IPad while I am at home so I can leave my new $900 iPad on a table to charge free of incident so I can use the 4G while I'm away from wifi during the day. I have been getting more upset about this because I can not even use the Griffin extended cord to charge the iPad and be far from the plug because only the original apple sync/charge cord will have a better shot at staying in. Absolutely none of my non apple cables will stay in the iPad 3 while having it in my hands.
The plug is at an angle, unlike the first iPad, not sure about the iPad 2. Please let me know if they have same issue.
If anyone else is having this problem with the Gen 3 iPad please let me know because I'm tempted to do something about it with apple and I'm hoping that I just for some reason have a bad cable receiver or something and maybe I can get a replacement and enjoy the iPad as I had expected to. There is no reason why I should be even using my first iPad and I have friends that want to buy it but I am not selling it because I'm unable to sell it because I can't handle the new iPad while it's plugged in, that is ridiculous if it's a common issue so please let me know!

It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.

We are on a 20mb broadband connection and there is around 20 people using computers at my work but when I start my Adobe Cloud Product update or when I try and download my Adobe Cloud Product everyone at my work looses their internet connection and so do I. But the update keeps downloading and installing.

I am sorry FooWingLi but the difficulties you are describing sounds more like a local network configuration issue. I would recommend working with your I.T. department to investigate this matter.
