Loss message in email server
hi
my message server is iPlanet Messaging Server 5.2 HotFix 1.21
I have a trouble~~
a email user his message is disappear in webmail ,suddenly.
but I check pop log, i find this user did not use pop3 to get mail .
I use "hashdir" command to find his mail folder
,and I find his message is really disappear by checking his mail folder.
May this question of losing message happen by something wrong of iPlanet Messaging Server 5.2? ? ?
And how can I find these loss message again?
It's hightly unlikely that a message would simply dissappear.
We have seen a very few cases, where a 'peruser' database has come out of sync with the actual contents of a mailbox. the symptoms of this are that new messages can look "deleted" to clients. If what you're describing is that the actual file went away, that's not what we're talking about.
Most likely, the user accidentially "moved" the message to another folder. . .

When trying to send a group of photos the e-mail requested my password. Apparently I gave it the wrong one. When I tried to resend, it doesn't ask for a password, just gives me this message, "The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination." How do I fix the problem? I tried I-Photo help, but it says "NOT available." I'm getting VERY frustrated since my I-Book G-4 NEVER did such "STUPID" things like ask for a password to send photos!!!
I tried sending single photo, but get the same message.
Also, my e-mail is NOT @bellsouth.net. It is @icloud.com I tried to change it but couldn't. How do I change it on this site. I tried to edit my info, but couldn't change the e-mail!!

Can you send email ok via the Apple Mail application?
The username and password are set in the Accounts section of the Mail application. Start Mail, select preferences and select Accounts. Then make absolutely sure that the username, password and outgoing mail server are entered correctly. -

2 switch to Mail as your email client

In trying to forward some photos, I keep getting the message:
The email server didn't recognize your user name
and password.First go to iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and delete the email account that's there. Close iPhoto, reopen and add your email account to the Accounts preference pane and try again.
Next, and IMO the better solution, set Mail are the email client for iPhoto in iPhoto's General preference pane:
This gives you better access to your contacts, a sent copy and, if you need a layout like iPhoto gives you, similar layouts in iPhoto's stationary option.

Sending pics from iphoto I get the message "The email server didn't recognize your username/password combination".
You need to set it up once in iPhoto-> Prefs -> Accounts b/c not everyone who uses iPhoto has or uses Mail.

It sounds like there may be an issue with the email account you have setup on your iMac. I would recommend running the Connection doctor in Mail:

I have the same username and password for my Apple account and iCloud. My main email server is btinternet. When I try to share a photo by sending an email by iCloud I get a message "Server doesn't recognize username/password combination". Do I need to login to iCloud with my btinternet password?
Seeing others with same problem I have gone into iPhoto>Preferences>Accounts and changed password to btinternet password. It worked. Thanks.

I'm have a problem using the Share command when using my iPhoto software. After selecting a photo and entering the email addresses I press Send and receive the message. "The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination". I've gone into my iPhone Account Settings and deleted the original account and then re-entered the information into a new account with negative results. I have been using the Share feature for more than a year and have had no problems up until two days ago.

You mean, you entered the Account setting again in iPhoto's Preferences?
Then try, if deleting your account password in your Keychain will help.
Quit your mail program. Launch Keychain Access from the "Applications > Utilities" folder and select "Password" in the "Categories" brick. Delete the password for your email account. (right click the email address to bring up the contextual menu and select "delete"). -
Having trouble with sharing photos via email on my desktop Imac. Error Message when I try to send: "The email server didn't recognize your username/password combination. Normal email inbox/outbox works fine, error message only comes up when using "Sharing photos".
Not sure how to fix this, please help.Are you trying to email directly from iPhoto? If so, check iPhoto>Preferences>Accounts tab and make sure your details are entered correctly there.

"In my humble opinion". Larry is recommending using Mail instead of iPhoto to email photos. I agree.

I changed the password on my iphone yesterda and now i can't send mail on my Imac via My gallery : the message is: email server did not recognize username and password combination
I found that by turning of the SSL option at the bottom of the Accounts panel did the trick.

I cannot email a photo from iphoto. A message comes up that says " email server did not recognize username / password combination ". There does not seem to be a way from inside iphoto to fix that. Any suggestions ?
Have you set Mail.app or iPhoto as Mail client in the iPhoto Preferences? Mail.app is working more reliable than iPhoto as mail client.
