Lost calendar on iphone4s when I sycned icloud with new ipad

I lost all of the history in my calendar on my iphone when I set up new ipad. Is there a way to retrieve it? I went back into settings already and selected the setting so that it is not deleting after so many days/weeks.

Sign out of old email and sign in with new.

Looking through help in internet I found out that I had to reset the SMC. I did exactly as per instructions given but with no luck.

Its a easy fix,it will take too much time to type out all of the steps,
Check your email account. see if they are their, You can then import them on your DAV card, The best thing to is add them to icoud then they will be safe.
Apple support can talk you through it.

I show the last back up when I go into settings but I do not know how to get the items out of back up? Should I try restarting it? When I was setting up the new ipad for the first time it asked for my icloud login and password but it did not give me an option to retrieve the old back up?

now reconnect to wifi
settings- wifi- click network name- enter password - join
if issue persists back up and restore as new via iTunes

Check the following:
From your Home screen, tap Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream, and make sure the slider is set to the ON position.
From the Home screen, tap Settings > Wi-Fi, make sure the slider is set to ON, and that your device is connected to a wireless network.
Ensure that Camera app is closed on the device where you took the photo. Photo Stream will not upload photos from an iOS device until the Camera app is closed.
Ensure your iOS device has not fallen below 20% battery power. To preserve battery life, Photo Stream downloading and uploading are disabled when the battery reaches this threshold. Downloading and uploading will resume once you charge your device, and the battery charge is greater than 20%.

If your iPad was work provided there may be options that they locked out. For example, a privately owned device can be set to never auto lock (last I knew anyway) but it's not uncommon for work or school provided devices to not have the 'never' option.
