Lost Notes Icon

I accidentally deleted the notes icon from my iPod touch main screen.  The icon still appears in the recently used apps list that appear at the bottom.  Is there a way to put the icon back on the main screen? All the content is still there.  With thanks in advance.

You can go to Settings>Geneneral>Reset>Reset Screen Layout
It appears you just moved the app/icon to someplace where you can't find it.

What icons are you talking about?
Are you talking about apps that you've downloaded?  if so just sync them back to your phone using iTunes.

  • How do I retrieve lost Bookmark icons most of which disappeared when I updated to Firefox 8?

After I updated to Firefox 8 I noticed that more than half of the itemsin my bookmarks list had lost their icons which were replaced by a dotted line in the shape of a square. I tried to go back to using Firefox 7 using System Restore. The restore was successful except that Firefox could not be opened. So I undid the restore and this allows Firefox to open and all seems ok apart from the fact that the majority of the items in my Bookmark list have disappeared and have been replaced as described. Can anybody help?

Hi everyone. At issue is that FF8, obviously due to a coding bug, no longer is retrieving the favicon from the root of a website's www directory website in some situations. I tried starting FF8 with all add-ons disabled, just to verify that an add-on wasn't causing the issue. The add-on Check Places will restore the missing favicons, but the favicon will disappear as soon as you visit the bookmarked URL if the favicon was missing after you upgraded to FF8.
Hehe. I am not too thrilled with Mozilla's new rapid development cycle. FF8 is simply a tweaked version of FF7 and as such it should have been a 7X upgrade. But I guess Mozilla wants Firefox to get up to version 10000 before Chrome does. Silly.

  • Have just updated to iBook Author 1.01 and have lost my icons

Have just updated to iBook Author 1.01 and have lost my icons in the left hand column, which show each page of the book. They are now all blank white icons instead of miniature images of the larger pages. Also have lost some images within the pages of text. Has anyone got a fix for this?

I've just started having this problem too. For a little while my page thumbnails were half there- only recent pages still had them. Now they're all gone.
All my images other than the ones I just added are also gone
They simply appear as grey boxes with an X and ? in the middle.
Not sure if this is related- but I recently moved my system from an external boot drive to the internal. All other apps seem to be working fine.
This is very disturbing because it would be tons of work to put all the images back.

From where did you lose the iPhoto icon? From the Dock? If so, then it's still in your Applications folder. Find it there then drag the icon back into the Dock. If it's no longer in Applications perhaps you've moved or renamed it. Use Spotlight to search for "iphoto."
Upgrading to Mountain Lion will not affect your iPhoto Library unless you erase the hard drive first. Be sure you backup before any system upgrade.
Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
             7. Xserve (Early 2009)
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
Am I eligible for the free upgrade?
See Apple - Free OS X Mountain Lion upgrade Program.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.

  • Lost ibooks icon on iphone5S-IOS8.1.3

I have lost ibooks icon on my iphone 5S-IOS8.1.3. I have tried to redownload from app store but it does not work. Please help me to retrieve the ibooks icon on my iphone screen. Thank you

iBooks is built-in to iOS 8, you can't download the old version from the store.
If you can't find it via the phone's spotlight search screen, then try a soft-reset (i.e. a reboot) and see if you can find it after the phone has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear and it should reboot.

I 'lost' the icon for the camera.  how do I retrieve it?

Check Settings>General>Restrictions to be sure Camera is On.  If it is, swipe your screens to the right and search for Camera.  If it's hiding in a folder, the name of the folder will appear to the right of Camera.  If you don't see a folder name, it's not in a folder, but is on one of your screens so search for it.  If all else fails, go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.  This will restore the original home screen layout but will rearrange your apps in order to do so.

  • Email screen - lost the icons at bottom so can't cancel email?

I have lost the icons at the bottom of my IPhone so can't. Cancel email.. Help

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting.

  • Lost My Icons

I've had a Palm Pilot for 10 years. I currently have a Palm T/X. I just tried to download the latest OS 6.2 (I think that's the latest). Anyway, I've lost my icons in the calendar (I also have Datebk 6 installed). How do I get my icons back? The icons I'm referring to are when you set an appointment in Datebk 6 you can put a "Check Mark" when completed or an "X" or any number of icons.
    Thank You
    Post relates to: Palm TX

When you go into the calendar/datebook and tap on a scheduled appointment and then tap on "details" you come to a list of options. Such as "Time","Date", "Alarm", "Repeat" and at the bottom is "Icon". When you tap on "Icon" you go to a list of icons to choose from.  I no longer have any icons when I tap on "Icon". Instead I get a message that says "In order to use icons, you must install them first. See Read-Me-First file or User Manual for installation instructions".  I can't find anything about installing icons in the manual.
Also please note that I don't have a T/X installation CD, I guess I lost it, I only have a Tungsten E2 from a previous palm pilot and that is what I used after I uninstalled the Palm O/S (according to instructions on a previous thread) off my laptop to get rid of the 6.2 version. Now I have Garnet v.5.4.9
Any ideas on how to get my icons back?
    Thanks

  • Lost Tray Icons

    Hi,
I have had my iPad for a while now. Every so often I loose everything in the tray. I am not clear on how this occurs. I can search for the apps, for example Safari, and its still installed however it goes missing and its not relocated to a folder or any other location, it just goes missing. As a matter of fact ALL the icons in the tray seem to vanish at the same time. The only way I have found to resolve this is to reset the home screen which in turns blows away all my folders. So far this has happened about 6 times. At this point I am about ready to just stop using the device because of this. Its a huge pain to restore all my apps back to folders. While this is my first post in the apple forums I have asked this same question on other forums and searched for some time on the web and found no other instances of this. I have found folks that lost 1 icon , such as the app store icon, but never ALL the tray icons. If this is the result of something I am doing wrong I would love to know what that is. Also is there a way to resolve this without doing a reset on the home screen?
    Thanks
    Chris

This is a common issue with jailbroken iPads (found that out using a tool called Google). I'm going to assume yours isn't jailbroken, though, and say that you should try a reset (Hold down Sleep and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears on screen), and see if this fixes it.

  • Lost original icon to calculator

I seemed to have lost my icon to the calculator in my applications folder. Instead I get a "standard" icon like the applications icon?!
Have rebooted, repaired permissions using the MacOS CD and removed caches. Any other suggestions out there? The program still works fine but it is a bit annoying.

Just found out how to make your own custom icons and I replaced the icon with a newer, bolder calculator icon using the "info" pane. Guess that the topic was not that hot. Thanks anyway Apple people.

  • Lost my icon for photos

I lost the icon for my photos on my i phone how do i get this back.

    Hi Man ios7,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
To address this issue, I would suggest restarting and/or resetting the iPhone:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

If that does not resolve the issue, refer to page 146 in the iPhone User Guide to Reset All Settings:
