  • Can we call a javascript function from backing bean class?

    I have a requirement. In a multiselect table, when users selects some rows and clicks a button. Depending upon some condition, an alert box should appear with 2 buttons 'Yes' and 'No'. On clicking yes, certain field values in the selected rows of table should change. On clicking no, the alert box should close. As far as i know alert box can be done only in JS.
    Please help me, if a javascript function can be called in backing bean method or suggest some way where alert boxes can appear through ADF.

    I need to go back to the backing bean as i need to iterate through each selected row of the table in a method( method written for command button) and then if atleast one of the selected rows has job field='Manager', then an alert box needs to be displayed. If none of the rows have job field as 'manager', alert box should not be displayed.
    If I write the function for onclick, i cannot iterate through the selected rows of the table in JS function.
    Please suggest a way to do this.

  • Can we call a javascript fun through jsp page without any event

    Hi ,
    I am new to jsp,javascript and i have a little question.
    If i make a function in a js file and want to call it from a jsp file without any event ,ie can i write some thing like <%abc()%> in ths jsp page ,which call the function from another .js file.
    I suppose that it can be done as gmail page reloads it self after some time and for http mostly we use pull ie request from the client side ,so i think that they must be doing something like timer expiry and reload themselves.
    please help me with the solution.
    Thanks & Regards

    sorta....
    The JS runs in the client, not on the server, so you would just be writing JS code as HTML... If your page is like this and the myscript.js file defines 2 functions (function1, function2), you can call them on page load in either of these ways. I'm not sure offhand which would get called first, but the scripts called inline in the page would be called in the order they are defined in the page. But that is all HTML, it has nothing to do with JSP.
    <head>
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="myscript.js" />
    </head>
    <body onload="function1();">
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function2();
    </script>
    </body>

  • Can I use my javascript to change the session state of an item?

    All,
    I currently have a page that has two regions: a report and a checkbox region. The checkbox region is full of checkboxes that are tied to each column in the report. I have javascript in the page HTML header that hides/displays the report column when they click the corresponding checkbox. The hiding and displaying columns works just fine.
    Here is my problem: my users need to export the report (with some columns hidden) as a CSV file. Unfortunately, the javascript function I use to hide/show the columns does not change the session value of the checkbox region and thus, APEX does not 'know' that some columns have been hidden. Because of this, APEX exports ALL columns.
    Can I add an onChange to my javascript that each time the user checks/unchecks a box, it adds/removes that item from the checkbox region's session value?
    Thanks!
    BoilerUP
    P.S. I do not want to submit the page - I would like for this to be done on the fly, just like the columns hiding/appearing with the javascript. Thanks!

    Ok, I still cannot get this to work. I keep getting a javascript page error (yellow exclamation icon in I.E.) I have the following code in the HTML header:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function va_GetCheckboxes(pName)
    var d=document;
    var l_return = "";
    var inputs=d.body.getElementsByTagName('INPUT');
    var l_el;
    for (var j=0;j<inputs.length;j++) {
         l_el = inputs[j];
         if (l_el.type=="checkbox" && l_el.name && l_el.name==pName
             && l_el.checked) {
                l_return += ":" + l_el.value;
    return l_return.substring(1);
    </script>I also have the following code in the HTML Form Element Attributes section for the checkbox item:
    onclick="html_HideBasedOnCheckBox(this,this.value);set_Some_Item('P2_COLUMN_HIDE_CHECKBOXES',that_string)"Do I need to replace "that_string" with something or is there something else that I'm doing wrong?

  • How to call a javascript method after table load on JSFF Fragment load?

    Hello,
    The usecase is to invoke a javascript method after table is done loading (fetching data) when user lands to a JSFF fragment. With JSPX pages I can achieve that by using PagePhaseListener. I have tried with RegionController as follows, and the problem i face is that I cannot prevent multiple calls to the Javascript call when user presses a tab or button in a screen, or changes drop-down value with autosubmit on.
    import javax.faces.context.FacesContext;
    import oracle.adf.model.RegionBinding;
    import oracle.adf.model.RegionContext;
    import oracle.adf.model.RegionController;
    import org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.render.ExtendedRenderKitService;
    import org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.util.Service;
    public class MyListener implements RegionController{
    public MyListener() {
    super();
    @Override
    public boolean refreshRegion(RegionContext regionContext) {
    int refreshFlag = regionContext.getRefreshFlag();
    System.out.println("Render flag is: "+refreshFlag);
    if (refreshFlag == RegionBinding.PREPARE_MODEL)
    initializeMethod();
    regionContext.getRegionBinding().refresh(refreshFlag);
    return false;
    public boolean validateRegion(RegionContext regionContext) {
    regionContext.getRegionBinding().validate();
    return false;
    public boolean isRegionViewable(RegionContext regionContext) {
    return regionContext.getRegionBinding().isViewable();
    public void initializeMethod() {
    FacesContext f = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ExtendedRenderKitService service = Service.getRenderKitService(f, ExtendedRenderKitService.class);
    service.addScript(f, "myJSFunction();");
    @Override
    public String getName() {
    return null;
    I need the javascript to be called only once after the table is done loading when user lands to a fragment (jsff).
    Any ideas appreciated?
    JDeveloper version is 11.1.1.5.0
    Thank you.

    One of the requirements is to compare every row with the next row and highlight the changes. There are other requirements as well where JavaScript solution is used.
    The question remains the same. Is it doable or not without changing the solution from JavaScript solution to server-side solution ? Can we call a JavaScript only once when the user lands to a jsff fragment ?
    Hope that is clear.
    Thanks.

  • Where to call the javascript function

    Hi,
    I am using JSF and ADF.
    I have a javascript function called by the body onload.
    The javascript is to set the first the first column of a table fixed.
    But when I click the next page link which is generated by defaut,
    the function from the javascript disappears.
    Can I call a javascript function when pressing the next page link which is
    generated by default ?
    Thanks.
    Ivan

    Hi Frank,
    My javascript function is to make the first column of the table fixed which
    is something like the function in the Excel.
    The function is called by body onload.
    But when the 'next page' link is clicked, it will not refresh the whole page.
    The above cannot be called.
    So I wanna add it during the action of pressing the link.
    any alternatives ?

  • How can I have a backing file call a JavaScript function?

    I have a Weblogic portal with a JSP portlet. The portlet has a backing file. How can I get the backing file to call a JavaScript function in my portlet?
    thanks

    Hi
    your questions are not correct because you are mixing up server side operations with client side operations.
    First server side code executes then the page is sent to the browser , then any javascript executes on the browser. So asking for javascript to be called from backing file (server side) doesn't make sense or asking for javascript to read a parameter doesnt exactly work either.
    However in your server code suppose you have a variable action in the request that you want javascript to know then in your JSP you would add something like
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var action = '${requestScope.action}';
    alert(action);//or whatever you want to do
    <c:if test="${requestScope.someOthervariable == ''xyz'}"><%-- this check is done on the server --%>
    callSomeJavascript(); <%--this javascript is only executed when the server side value of someOtherVariable is xyz --%>
    </c:if>
    </script>
    i.e. you can output the javascript that has the variables you need or the function calls you want.
    Like I said understand whats server side and whats client side.

  • How can I call a web service using JAVAscript in LCD

    hi guys,
         I know it can call a WSDL in LCD, but I have not any WSDL web service , and I have a REST web service ,how can I call this REST web service in LCD? I checked some documents and found nothing...if it's possible that it can call a REST web service using JAVAScript code, I mean I can program some code to call this web service ?
    thanks,

    Hi Jesse,
    You can do GET, PUT and POST using FormCalc, so you should be able to access a REST web service.
    There is a example of accessing a RSS feed in this thread, http://forums.adobe.com/message/5695433#5695433

  • How can I call a Page Process from the Select statement for Report Page

    I'm able to call a javascript using the below:
    img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#add2.gif" border="0" alt="Icon 4" onClick="javascript:add_connect1('||CPORT.ID||')"
    But Now,
    I'd like to accomplish (2) New things:
    1. instead of using,....... onClick="javascript:add_connect1,
    I'd like to call a Page Process, onClick=
    2. I'd like to be able to call two different processes onClick.
    a. onClick="javascript:passBack('||ID||')"
    b. onClick= <Please see my question #1 above>
    Can someone please help me with the syntax for this,
    If indeed it can even be done?
    Thanks- Gary

    Greg.
    It seems that my situation is the one you describe in you second paragraph, where you mention:
    you could then add the ID column value as a parameter to the javascript functionBut,
    I do not know how to reference the variable in my javascript nor how to use it in my on-demand process.
    If you can hellp me past this last little bump, then I think I will be able to use these skills in Sooo many different areas of my design.
    Here's what I've got so far:
    A. In the select statement I identify the javascript as:
    onClick="javascript:connect_port('<font color=blue>''||ID||''</font>')";
    B. In my javascript I have this:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function connect_port(ID)
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=CONNECT_PORT',0);
    gReturn = get.get();
    get = null;
    </script>
    C. In my on demand function I have this:
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO CCONNECTIONS_B
    BLDG_ID,CLST_ID,PORT_ID,STRAND_ID
    ) VALUES
    :P2004_BLDG_ID,:P2004_CLST_ID,:P2004_PORT_ID,:P2004_STRAND_ID1
    END;
    You can see that I dont know how to use the value for 'ID' in either the javascript or the On-Process function.
    If you can help me out with this one, Then I can imitate it for the rest.
    -Gary

  • How can I call a servlet method from a javascript function

    I want to call l a servlet method from a javascript function.
    Does any one have an example of code.
    Thinks in advance

    Actually, as long as the servlet returns valid javascript, you can indeed "call it" from the client. It will initiate a request and return the result to the browser.
    This example uses Perl, but it could be easily modified to go to a servlet instead.
    Note that it is only supported in DOM browsers (IE6+/NN6+/etc)

  • Can we call a report in another report?

    I have developed a XMLP report for AR receivables for a customer and another XMLP report for AP vouchers for a customer.
    Now my requirement is to develop a report for AR/AP Balance for a customer,which is combination of above 2(ie AR Receivables report + AP vouchers report).
    What is the possible solution to above mentioned requirement??
    Can I call a report from another report(for ex AP vouchers report from AR Receivables report).Is this possible?
    If yes,please explain...
    Or are there any alternatives to this requirement??
    Thanks in advance!!

    Hi,
    Calling another report in a report? Not sure about your requirement but you can do fnd_submit/fnd_request.
    OR, if you need AR/AP balance,... here's an alternative solution:
    If you're in R12, there is the "Automatic Netting (AP/AR)" feature in Payables. You could check on the available report if it fits your need.
    In 11i, you may run "Supplier Customer Netting Report" (ARXSCN). This is an OReport(RDF) and could be converted to XMLP. This report is designed to display the net balances in AP and AR for Vendors and Customers with the same name, NIF Code, or VAT Registration.
    Hope this helps.

    I am developing one ALV report in that how can i call a condition type.I am one condition type PB00 for special price.This special price column should be present at the output list.This special price is not there any one of the database tables.So we will create one condition type for this.How can I develop one condition type and how we may call this condition type into my ALV report.

    V/06 is the condition type transaction .You attach a Access sequence to that which is stored in V/07 .
    there you can also get based on key combination tables names .
    which you can used in your report to include in the ALV .
    Contion type PB00 Access sequence PB00
    which will have step say
    Step Table combination
    1      071       Material plant
    2      142       SO/dc/DV

    Hello,
    a package is provided : srwAPIins.sql installs the Event-Driven Publishing API.

    The Event-Driven Publishing API is a PL/SQL package that provides the basic functions required for the development of procedures that respond to events in the database. Event-driven jobs are submitted using the HTTP protocol. The server assigns a unique job_ident record to every call, useful for tracking the status of the job.
