Lsnrctl start/stop "message not found" errors
When I installed 10g I selected a global database name of 'orcl.clearbean.com' and a sid of 'dev1'. Below are my environment variables, tnsnames.ora file and listener.ora file. I can connect and use the database, but I am getting errors messages when I do a lsnrctl stop/start. I am running Oracle and Apache together on a server running Fedora Core 4 (linux). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I updated my itunes the other day and now it won't open I get error message saying "application failed to start because MSVCR80 was not found" When I close that window I get message stating Itunes was not installed correctly Error 7 Windows error 126. My PC is a Acer and I'm running Windows Visa. I tried to uninstall Itunes and reinstall it and get same message. Can anyone help.
Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

My operating system is Windows XP SP3. I have Adobe 11.0.08 installed. I cannot print a pdf file/document. Error message - AeroRd32.exe - Unable To Locate Component - "Application failed to start because lxdautil.dll not found." Any suggestions?
That DLL is part of your printer driver; reinstall or update the device driver for your printer, and the message should go away.

Sqlldr: Message 2100 not found - No msg files in my RDBMS\Mesg dir
Hi All,
I am trying to use sqlldr on an WIN2003R3 server. This is not working and I get an error message:
MESSAGE 2100 NOT FOUND: WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START SQLLDR.
I searched the internet and there it states that this should have to do with my ORACLE_HOME or ORACLE_BASE environment variables or path. I checked those, but they seem fine.
On metalink it states two possiblities, for WIN NT,
- Removing the ORACLE_HOME env. variable
- Copy the files from another Oracle installation
(Metalink Note:171648.1 and Note:1081848.6).
I tried the first, but still doesnot work. Unfortunately I can't try the second, because all other Oracle installations I have access to are the same version, so they all have the same files in the RDBMS\Mesg directory.
My questions are:
- How many files should there be in the mentioned directory? (Now I've got 4: kgpus.msb, ocius.msb, oraus.msb, smgus.msb )
- Where can I get the missing files, or is there any other way to get around this?
- any ohter suggestions?
Thanks in advance. Any help will be appreciated,
Regards,
Toin.

Fixed a typo.

ToinThe problem is that my SQL Loader is not working under WIN NT. This is a known issue, one of the suggestions I found on metalink is to manually copy the message files that should be in ORACLE_HOME\DBMS\Mseg from another Oracle installation.
I cannot do this, because all my Oracle installations are the same. So the questions is where can I find the appropriate message files, so I can get my SQL Loader to run??
Thanks.

when i first click on Firefox the URL: www.27yhbnhy6tfgvrbcfre3.com shows up and the error message "Server not Found". but i can connect to any website by just clicking on a bookmark from the toolbar (or typing in a url). this never happened with previous versions of Firefox
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Error message: 'Codec not found..'
Hi all. This is a new error I've never seen before.
It's stopping me doing anything at all really.
As soon as I start up FCP and click on a sequence I get this message: 'Codec not found. You may be using a compression type without the corresponding hardware card.'
Then I click on OK and it says 'Error - Out of memory.'
I've heard rumours that it could be the fact I'm using a strange type of JPEG, but it still happens with PNGs.
I've made sure my scratch disks are all going to the right place. I also have 100gb of free space.
The version of FCP I'm using is 6.0.5. I'm using an iMac with OSX 10.4.11 (yes, I know it's old!) and I've downloaded the latest version of Quicktime.
Help, anyone? I have an assignment due in tomorrow.
Many thanks...What formats are your sources and sequence? Have you tried resetting your fcp preferences?
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2491
And here are some other troubleshooting steps
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2591
We're here to help, but unless we approach this in a systematic manner, obvious things can slip thru the cracks. So go thru these things and just let us know if there's anything amiss.
I'm in NYC also, so if you are up against the wall, and feel like bringing your trusty macbook pro by my cutting room, I could probably take a quick look at it and see if there's anything obvious. -

Many thanks...p.s. having looked at other posts, perhaps I am missing some (or all) of the relevant codecs?
In the folder Macintosh HD > Library > Quicktime
there is basically nothing. Do you think this is the problem?
If so, where do I download FCP codecs from?
Many thanks.. -
I have dial up - once I connect to the internet, I get the message server not found and am unable to go anywhere on the internet. This started trying to load my banks online site and started about a week ago. I've tried freeing popup blocker, gone through the settings with a bank IT specialist, tried to us IE which has resulted in a request for a cable and now no access to any website. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks

netstat command is showing me the port 1521 (as opened)
But Still I am not able to connect Forms 6i with OracleXE version.

Clicking on system ->advanced -> environment variables does not show me a ORACLE_HOME but I guess
that this is not the issue since the listerner is starting right ???I don't think going via command line or not has that effect. Actually when using e.g. tnsping the oracle.key file is used to identify Oracle Home's registry key, from which Home environment settings (e.g. ORA_, NLS_ and TNS_ parameters) are read.

Problem may be related to "mixing" oracle homes. Is this a clean machine with no prior Oracle installations? -
ORA-01034: Message 1034 not found; No message file for product=RDBMS
Hi!
After creating a RAC Database (10.2.0.5) on Redhat Enterprise Linux 64-bit, we checked: Listeners, Processes and Environment variables.
Everything was set up properly and running.
When trying to connect as sysdba the following message appeared:
$sqlplus / as sysdba
sql>select * from v$instance;
select * from v$instance
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01034: Message 1034 not found; No message file for product=RDBMS,
facility=ORA
A shutdown and startup did not help.
What could be the issue here?
Thanks!Here is an excerpt of the alert log. No ora-

ORA--0001: Message -1 not found; product=RDBMS; facility=ORA
Hi All,
I am using pro*c to connect to DB. My application was working fine till today. All of a sudden without changing any application configuration I started getting error during connect.
Statement executed
EXEC SQL CONNECT :sqli_username IDENTIFIED BY :sqli_password USING :sqli_db_instance ;
All Bind variable populated correctly still getting following error.
ORA--0001: Message -1 not found; product=RDBMS; facility=ORA
I tried to debug and search on internet for problem however as you can see sqlca.sqlcode is negative value -0001 which is not mapped to logical oracle error.
I could see on oracle site
sqlca.sqlcode <0 - Means that Oracle did not execute the statement because of a database, system, network, or application error. Such errors can be fatal. When they occur, the current transaction should, in most cases, be rolled back.
But how will I understand what was exact reason for failure.
Any help or direction is very much appreciated ..
Thanks.You probably want to make sure your $ORACLE_HOME is set correctly.

Strange JMSException: Message catalog not found
I have built a module that offers a method to send JMS messages. I am using MQSeries as MOM product.
My send-method uses a QueueConnection created during Instantiation of the class, but creates all other JMS-related objects (like QueueSession, QueueSender, Queue etc.) when called, since these classes are not thread safe according to the IBM docs. I close these resources after usage as recommended.
Now I did some automated testing, i.e. I am sending large amounts auf messages over the queues.
It works perfectly normal at first, but after 103 (usually) or 104 (rarely) sent messages I get a strange exception from a call to my QueueConnection object (outboundConn):
The code:
try {
outboundSession = outboundConn.createQueueSession(false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
} catch (JMSException e) {
System.out.println("StubConnecion.sendMessage(Message requestMessage, String requestQueueName, boolean synchronous): creating queue connection for sending: "+e);
Exception lEx = e.getLinkedException();
System.out.println("Linked exception: "+lEx);
System.exit(1);
The exception reads:
StubConnecion.sendMessage(Message requestMessage, String requestQueueName, boolean synchronous): creating queue connection for sending: javax.jms.JMSException: MQJMS2005: Fehler beim Erstellen von MQQueueManager fr 'rtulmx0111:QM_server'
Linked exception: com.ibm.mq.MQException: Message catalog not found
The first line is just my output, the second line is more interesting. It gives a JMS error code with a message. The message is german (as is my version of MQSeries), it translates to: "Error creating MQQueueManager for 'localhost:QM_server'
The JMS Exception encapsulates an IBM-specific MQException.
The reason 2009 means:
"Connection to the queue manager has been lost. This can occur because the queue manager has ended. If the call is an MQGET call with the MQGMO_WAIT option, the wait has been canceled. All connection and object handles are now invalid."
Well, my queue manager has not ended and the listener process one has to start for MQSeries is still running.
Does anybody have an idea what could cause this strange behaviour?Yes, I DO close the resources after usage. :-)
But I solved, or better worked around the problem.
It only occured when I used MQJMS_TP_CLIENT_MQ_TCPIP as transport type. After correcting the problem that leads to the "unable to load message catalog - mqji" error message whenever one starts a JMS app (it is caused when the mqji properties-files are not in the PATH environment variable), I was able to use MQJMS_TP_BINDINGS_MQ as transport type. That one works great.
Has anyone ever found a place where the differences between the transport types are explained? -
