Lxdm is ignoring its theme setting in /etc/lxdm.lxdm.conf

All I get is a plain grey greeter screen despite the 'Industrial' setting in the config file.  This happened suddenly and behaved as it used to for ages until now.
# sed '/#/d' /etc/lxdm/lxdm.conf
[base]
numlock=1
greeter=/usr/lib/lxdm/lxdm-greeter-gtk
[server]
[display]
gtk_theme=Clearlooks
bottom_pane=1
lang=1
keyboard=0
theme=Industrial
[input]
[userlist]
disable=0
white=
black=
The theme file is on the filesystem:
% ls -l /usr/share/lxdm/themes/Industrial
total 76K
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 11K Oct 23 16:31 greeter-gtk3.ui

EDIT:  It does not honor any theme including community/archlinux-lxdm-theme
EDIT2: lxdm-git from the AUR works just fine...

I had the same problem, but found that I'd uninstalled librsvg.  Reinstalling this package fixed the problem.

  • How to use the ITS Theme generated by ITS Theme generator of Portal

    Hi,
    I have generated an ITS Theme using ITS Theme generator of Portal. I exported the theme . It is a zip file containg some xml files and two zip files - Portal and ITS. When I unzip ITS.ZIP I have webgui folder under which there is ma and sa.These folders have various images.
    Now how do I apply the generated theme.
    Regards,
    Harish

    Hi Edgar,
    Thanks for responding. Yeah I looked at that documentation earlier and these are the activities we have done so far:
    1. Using ITS theme generator in portal, generated ITS theme for our custom portal theme.
    2. Verified from theme export that ITS.zip contains all relevant images, stylehsteets etc for our custom theme.
    3. Even after this, when we preview transaction iViews from portal to execute a transaction on ECC system those iViews pick up default SAP theme but not our custom theme.
    4. After looking at the OSS notes mentioned in help documentation, we used ~webTransactionType, ~design & ~designBaseUrl parameters in iView properties but no luck. Actually these parameters get ignored - even if we put invalid host name in designBaseUrl it doesn't throw any error.
    We use EP 7.0 SP 17 and ECC 7.01 Ehp4 with integrated ITS. When we generated the theme using ITS theme generator in portal, we tried with service as webgui and also sap_generate but the iViews pick up only default SAP theme. How do we point ITS webgui and transaction iViews to custom portal theme?
    Thanks for your help!

  • Option "ctrl:nocaps" in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf ignored

    Hi all,
    I have a single-user laptop, so I'd like to configure my X keyboard layout and options globally instead of doing it for any WM/DE I might happen to use.  And most importantly, the desktop manager (GDM) should already use my layout.  So my /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf contains this section:
    Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "evdev keyboard catchall"
    MatchIsKeyboard "on"
    MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
    Driver "evdev"
    Option "XkbLayout" "de"
    Option "XkbVariant" "dvorak"
    Option "XkbOptions" "ctrl:nocaps"
    EndSection
    The result is that I have my German Dvorak layout in GDM and in whatever WM I choose there.  However, the ctrl:nocaps option seems to be ignored.  In GDM, CapsLock is still CapsLock, not an additional CTRL.  Why not?
    Here's the Xorg.0.log in case that might shed some light.  (Well, it actually only shows that the options seems to be applied to all keyboard devices...)

    Yes, exactly.  I do get the Dvorak layout that's set in 10-evdev.conf, but not the ctrl:nocaps option that's set there as well.

I upgraded the itunes and now when I plug in the iphone its asking "set up as new iphone" will this delete everything on my phone? Also why is it forcing me to set up as a new iphone, why doesn't it recognize it like it did before I upgraded iTunes. I'm afaid I will lose all my apps, music, pictures etc. please help. thank you.

    You are correct. Corrupted files are in the backup. If you've already restored the iPhone it has been erased and starting over is the way to go in order to eliminate the corrupted files.

    Hi experts,
    We have 2 different company using our SAP Netweaver portal for the ESS/MSS. This companies is using different ITS Theme.  We are now can activate only one ITS Theme. Now, one of the company has problem to display the ESS/MSS iview (The look problem). How to solve this problem because i was told that ITS Theme is a global setting. Only one theme is allow to activate at one time.
    Rgds,
    Nanie

    Hi Nanie,
    Could you pls try the below steps?
    step1: change your rule collection based on Groups.. like, if group1 then portal desktop  is desktop1
    if group2 then portal desktop is desktop2.
    setp2: assign company one users to group1 and company2 users to group2.
    step3: for desktop1, use the first theme.
               for desktop2, use the second theme.
    Thanks,
    Arun.

  • ITS Theme Generator - changing appearence of IAC iviews

    Opening this thread on behalf our SDN colleague David
    We have developed ITS functionality to provide access to the PA40
    transaction through the portal. I have set up a service in SICF for this
    however I am having trouble restricting views of the navigation buttons.
    Ordinarily, we would use the ITS Theme Generator for this, however is
    does not seem to work with integrated ITS.
    We have used the ITS Theme Generator before on EP6 with standalone ITS
    and that worked fine. On Portal 7 (SP15) and ERP6 backend with integrate
    d
    ITS, it doesn't seem to work. The service opens up in the portal and it
    seems there is no connection between the ITS service and the portal.
    On Portal 6, when I move around the cursor in the edit section, the
    relevant sections in the preview section highlights. But on Portal 7, it
    doesn't seem to work. Is there a patch level issue or do I have to
    install something else?
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    David

    Hi,
    Try with ~webgui_simple_transaction parameter to select what service controls you want to show.
    To publish properly services, use transaction SIAC_PUBLISH_ALL_INTERNAL before.
    Best regards, Iván.

  • Can webgui Iviews use ITS Themes generated by ITS Theme generator

    Hi,
    Can only IAC Components such as ESS etc be modified using ITS Theme genrator. I selected sap_preview service in the ITS Theme Generator wizard, and generated the theme.If I select webgui as the service, then it does not reflect any changes. I have an ITS Page which runs on the Portal. It does not reflect any change I have done , even when I apply the theme which was generated through SAp_preview service. Is there anything I must do to get it working.
    Regards,
    Harish

    Hi HARISH,
    Try to publish services to refresh them, using SIAC_PUBLISH_ALL_INTERNAL transaction. From SICF transaction, try to preview your service.
    Best regards.

  • Setting global umask via NSUmask or /etc/launchd.conf and /etc/launchd-user.conf broken?

    The procedure to change the default global umask from 0022 to 0002, so that most files created by one user on a machine will be read-write by other users in the same group, seems to have been broken or to have been changed in OS X Lion from OS X Snow Leopard.  What worked as far back as OS X 10.4 and was officially documented was done from Terminal: "defaults write /Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences NSUmask 2" (with a sudo, if not logged in as 'root').
    Another way documented in various places and which I actually used through OS X 10.6 was also done via Terminal. Two files were created: /etc/launchd.conf (for system-wide global umask) or /etc/launchd-user.conf (for user-specific global umask).  The contents of each were simply the single umask command, "umask 002" or ("umask u=rwx,g=rwx,o=rx", I can't remember which variant I used - they're functionally the same, though).
    No matter which method I use, the 2nd or the 1st, the global umask no longer changes.
    Does anyone know whether this has been deliberately hobbled under OS X Lion, requiring purchase of OS X Lion Server?  Is this an OS X Lion bug?  Or, am I looking at something wrong?

    See this support article, which was written for OS X Server, but seems applicable to  Mac OS X client versions as well:
    Mac OS X Server v10.5, 10.6: Setting a custom umask
    The excerpt below describes the use of /etc/launchd-user.conf, and strongly cautions against using /etc/launchd.conf.
    Umask for user applications
    In Mac OS X v10.5.3 and later, you can create the file /etc/launchd-user.conf with the contents "umask nnn". Do not include the quotation marks and replace nnn with the desired umask value, such as 027 or 002.
    This will set the user's umask for all applications they launch, such as Finder, TextEdit, or Final Cut Pro, and control the permissions set on new files created by any of these applications.
    Umask for system processes
    In Mac OS X v10.4 and later, create the file /etc/launchd.conf with the contents "umask nnn". Do not include the quotation marks and replace nnn with the desired umask value, such as 027 or 002.
    This will set the umask for all processes. Changing this value is strongly discouraged because it changes the permissions on files used by the system software. If the permissions are too restrictive, dependent software may not work. If the permissions are too open, they may introduce security issues.

  • File Receiver Adapter - writes empty message although ignore flag is set

    Hi,
    i have an file FTP receiver channel configured with content conversion. I also have set the "Empty-Message-Handling" flag to "Ignore", so empty messages with 0 kb are not written to the FTP server.
    My problem is now: empty file are written to FTP server although this flag is set to "Ignore".
    For example: A message with the following content arrives at my receiver adapter:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:MT_ArticleMaster xmlns:ns0="http://ihle.com/tyredating/core"></ns0:MT_ArticleMaster>
    The resulting file has 0kb.
    Does anyone have an idea why empty message are not getting ignored by this setting? Although the flag is set?
    Thanks in advance,

    ideally the file adapter will expect a message with no content in it. so i suggest you use a simple java mapping to check if there is any content between the tags, if there is no content then write out an empty string to the outputstream else pass the same inputstream out

    Can someone help me change the line width of my numbers table, its not set to thin or none and its stuck on pt25. its a spreadsheet i imported from excel.

    MR,
    Apparently the import wasn't a good one.
    The best option at this point might be to start a new table. Insert a new Table, Copy the old table cell range, select the first cell in the new table and Edit > Paste and Match Style. This will throw out all the old formatting. A bit of work, but a nice clean start.

  • Apple TV changed battery screen shows setting  time etc now it will not start

    I had to change battery in remote (2nd gen apple TV) now it starts setting time etc screen is blank. I swithced it off waited 30 secs, no luck!!!!
    I cannot go to menu as it does not allow me. Has anyone got any suggestions??

    Here's what finally worked for me with Apple TV 3rd generation. Out of the box, when setup with wi-fi, it breezed through without any issue. As soon as I powered down and connected it to another tv (same wi-fi network), it got stuck at setting date/time. The remote would help in getting out of it, but the home would only have "Computers" and "Settings" and pretty much useless except for AirPlay. Here's what I did to resolve this:
    1. On your main router, temporarily disable the firewall or set it to the lowest setting allowable (a reboot of the router maybe required).
    2. Restart apple tv via the "restart" option in the "General" option in the main settings menu.
    3. It should breeze through and not show the "Setting date/time" screen.
    4. Once it loads up properly, turn on your fire wall as before  (a reboot of the router maybe required).
    I think it worked for me out of the box, but auto-update to the latest software introduced this bug. So, everytime apple tv tries to synch with the time server, this issue will come back. To disable this, I turned off the "auto time synch" option in Settings -> General.
    I am fairly confident that I'd be able to use steps 1 through 4 anytime this recurs. Possible scenarios causing recurrence of this issue:
    1. Unplugging the power to apple tv or power failures.
    2. OS updates.
    3. Restoring apple tv using "Restore" or via micro-usb and iTunes to the lastest OS.
    Hope this helps. Please post if this works for you.

  • Extended router's network for Airport extreme. Works well with MacbookPro. I can print with notebook with XP SP3 and, I can see the USB-harddisc in the Airport service program but, I cannot use it. I have set filesharing etc. What do I do wrong?

    I connected the Airport Extreme wireless to the existing network of my router. At the Airport there is connected via USB a Printer and three hard discs. All works well on my MacBook Pro - I can print and use the hard discs. On my notebook and my desktop, both with XP-SP3 I can use the printer only. In the Airport service program - manual set up - hard discs I can see the drives with the correct names but I cannot work with it. I don't find neithe the Airport Extreme nor the drives in the Windows Explorer. Of course I've set 'filesharing' etc. What do I do wrong? Where is the mistake in the set up?

    The Utility transferred all of the AE's settings, so I still have to change the password, which leaves me with only 2 other questions, I think:
    1)  I assume it's just a matter of using the Utility, entering a stronger password and checking for it to be remembered in Keychain Access.  But do I have to  change the password for each individual unit-- the TC, the Extreme and both Expresses-- or will changing it just for the TC alone work for the entire network?
    Resetting the password you will need to do for each device... the utility cannot even see those old units.
    So you will have to do it for each one.. think it through.. because as you change passwords the others will lose connection.. so start from the express which are wireless extending .. change those first.. and go back up the chain.. as each one changes it will drop off the network.. until you reach extreme and change that. Then you might need to reboot the whole network to get everything talking again. If something goes wrong.. just pluck that one out of the mix and plug in ethernet.. reset and redo the setup. That is my preferred method anyway.. do everything in isolation one by one. By ethernet and then nothing goes wrong.
    2)  Who's the treasonous SOB who spilled the beans to you about the ICBM in my back yard?!?
    N.Korean hackers.
    [Edit] Whoops-- one more question:  I want to partition the TC's disk, but Disk Utility doesn't see it.  What do I need to do?
    You cannot partition a network disk. And apple provided no tools for it in the TC itself. You can pull the disk out and partition it but that voids your warranty. (although done with care who is to know).
    Look at Q3 here.
    http://pondini.org/TM/Time_Capsule.html
    Mixing TM and data on the TC is worth planning carefully. They don't necessarily sit happily together.

  • ITS Theme Generator tool

    Hi Everyone,
    I am trying to apply my custom portal theme to an IAC (CLPBID).
    I have been trying to use the ITS theme generator without success.
    I am following the link http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/af/807f72a20d11d5b580006094b9451c/frameset.htm
    The backend system in my case is SCM 7.0 (with integrated ITS) and portal version is EP 7.0 EHP1.
    I have also looked at various SAP Notes including SAP Note 607843 and am not able to understand how to go forward with this.
    Problem with ITS theme generator:
    There are only options to change a few images. However, none of the images are being used in my IAC. There is no option
    to change the background color in the ITS theme generator. I would like to change the background color of the screen, background color of table elements and header, ...
    Can some one please guide me in the right direction to achieve this?
    1. Can I use ITS theme generator in integrated ITS systems ?
    2. How can I just change some colors in the IAC application ?
    Thanks for reading ...
    - Jaya

    Hi Benjamin,
    Thank you for sharing your experience.
    I have read similar comments on SDN from other people as well. I have also read a post saying that ITS theme generator is not for internal ITS purposes (which I am not sure).
    Can you please suggest where exactly can I make the changes in the backend via SE80 ?
    In SE80, for my Internet Service, Under Mime Objects -- Style -- I have a file called "CLPGLOBAL.CSS" which has very few options like position, height, width, margin ,. ...
    Where should I be making the changes to see a custom background color in my IAC application ?
    Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
    Thank You .
