Mac OSX 10.9.4 coldfusion 11 standalone server ERROR: HTTP Status 500 - java.lang.NullPointerException

Hi all.
I have installed the cold fusion server.
at first with mac server, apache..... but after install cold fusion and want to go to the admin page:
HTTP Status 500 - java.lang.NullPointerException
I deinstalled the server from mac and cold fusion..
after a fresh install of coldfusion 11 and use the build in server..
the same error..
does anybody knows the problems?

Hi,
Just upgraded to Photoshop Elements 11 on a x64 Dell running Win7. When trying to share photos using Flickr (which worked previously), I get the following:
Any idea what I can do to fix this? I've tried resetting accounts in Adobe Partner Services, Clearing Online Service Data, and refreshing the list of services - but makes no difference.

Thanks - I've cleared my browser cache, and tried all the other things available here too, a couple of days ago:

When I tried it, it made no difference. Ironically, just using the Flickr service today 'just works'. Server side, as you say, so maybe something got restarted / fixed?
Given the entire forum web site wasn't accessible yesterday (and that appears to run on Tomcat, too) - perhaps the restart of the one is linked with the restart of the other.
Anyhow - problem solved - thanks for your support!

Hi,
If you can't see the login screen of the CMC then it's a problem of webapps and not EIM services.
Try cleaning the Tomcat cache for the BOE webapps and let Tomcat re cache it. Often it does the job.
- Stop Tomcat
- Rename the BOE folder to BOE-OLD in C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\tomcat\work\Catalina\localhost\
- Start Tomcat
When the Tomcat process in task manager is done working (it can take 10-20 min+) then try again.
When you're done, you can delete the BOE-OLD folder.

and when I go to the line in the controller.java which is giving me the exception, I do not find anything wrong with it, this is the line:

When I debug my code, I find that the config is null just before the RequestDispatcher line. What does that mean ?

Mac OSX 10.5.3 Leopard STANDARD Server CHANGEIP questions

I am confused on how to check and change TCP/IP addresses via Mac OSX Leopard 10.5.3 server in STANDARD mode.
I watched the great Sean Colins Lynda.com tutorial on OSX 10.5 Server, but i still have a few questions with how to deal with DNSs and CHANGE IP
Here is the hardware & scenario:
-- G5 Silver Doors Tower with 1.7GB Ram and Mac OSX 10.5 Leopard 10 user server
-- Cablevision ISP with there BOOST service [that allows you to set-up a server and does not block ports 25 or 80]
-- NO Static IP from Cablevison [they change it once in a blue moon when they want so I rely on DYNDNS below]
-- Apple Airport TimeCapsule [with all latest firmware updates etc]
-- DynDNS account and client software installed on server to update the DYNDNS severs with the current Cablevisions TCP/IP address
Problem and Question

Three times a year I will need to move this server. 1/3rd of year and at setup it is on residential Cablevision Account and Apple TimeCapsule Router, Then 2/3 of year server will be behind two funky large networks where I will have to set-up manual IP, DNS, and proxy info
I need to know what the proper process is when I want to move the Mac. When the 10.5.3 STANDARD Server is in STANDARD mode can I just change the TCP/IP address in SYSTEM PREFERENCES...NETWORK ? Do I have to run the CHANGEIP command Afterwards [or Before]
Also, for DNS config on server does it always need to have the loop back self reference [127.0.0.1] or can it just be configed from the Airport and/or network?
And, big problem for now... dumbly when I set-up the OSX Server on the TimeCapsule Network I forgot to write down the TCP/IP address used. Now I am on the second funky corporate network and can't use the command:
sudo changeip - idon't_knowip 10.0.96.48 server.cmtenyoffice.com server.cmtenyoffice.com
Also, another question for the HOSTNAME... should it be HOSTNAME or FullyQuallifiedDomainName?
My HOSTNAME seems to be "CMTE-Server.local" but I specified the FullyQualifiedDomainName to "sever.cmtenyoffice.com"
NOTE: I do NOT have this domain registered and am not yet hosting a website or email server on this machine, but I may soon register the domain and then point MX records etc to the DYNDNS record that would point to server
Anyhow, to wrap up,
1- What is the proper process for changing the TCP IP address with a Leopard 10.5.3 STANDARD SERVER?
2- What do I do with CHANGEIP command if I don't know what the STARTING TCP/IP address is?
3- For HOSTNAME should I be entering the unregistered FQDN or the "CMTE-Server.local"

You use the one its using now.
If the Server is Standalone issue:
sudo changeip - oldIP newIP oldhostname newhostname
Even if nothing changes you can still issue the command, supply the system admin name and password and let it do its stuff. Prior to doing this you must change the address in the Network Preferences Pane. Although not necessary it does not hurt if you restart afterwards.
If the Server is an OD Master issue:
sudo changeip /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 oldIP newIP oldhostname newhostname
You will not only be prompted for the system admin name and password but also for the Directory Administrator name and password. With both command you will get feedback as to what is going on. Obviously you will see more changes made if its an LDAP Server. Hostname will be the fully qualifed domain name (FQDN) defined in the DNS Service eg: myserver.mydomain.com.

For usage. Actually prior to doing any of this and incidentally a good way of finding out not only the hostname but also the IP address associated with that name issue:
sudo changeip -checkhostname
You should run this before/after making the change. If everything checks out OK it should report 'the names match, there is nothing to change'. This is a good a test that lets you know its worked. However its not the only test. I would run host, nslookup and dig also. Next set a client to use the Server for its DNS and then test connectivity with firstly the Server's fqdn and lastly its IP Address.
Ultimately the truest test is: "what impact has the change made on clients accessing the Server and its Services successfully?"
If the Server is a mature OD Master (possibly PDC as well) with DNS, Mail, AFP, SMB, iCal and any other 2-3 additional services configured and running then issuing changeip may appear - superficially - to have worked. Occsasionally - in my experience - serious problems begin to develop with the LDAP database to the extent where the only 'cure' is to demote to Standalone, sorting out DNS and re-promoting. This can have serious repercussions if you have not made preparations to limit the re-build time prior to changing the IP address and issuing the command. Equally it can be successful. However can you take the risk?

Java.lang.NullPointerException on 9.0.4 standalone

We are running business and ejb components on 9.0.4 standalone version. We have java client application which the user downloads through webstart. The client application communicates with the server ejb components over RMI.
After the deploy, the application server runs without any problem for few weeks. And then all of a sudden we see bunch of these errors and the app server goes down. Did anyone face similar problem? Please help me with any pointers. Thanks in advance.

Please check the amount of HTTP sessions in your VM, and more important if you are closing the RMI calls from your JSP to your EJB. Please make sure that the GC is able to collect your objects --> get a thread dump if possible to see whats going on. JProbe can help with this diagnosis.

Server.xml: Parent Application Tag: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException

I have 2 EAR´s deployed on an OC4J (10.1.2) Standalone:
uncomsso - SingleSignOn
uncomtvv - Main App.
My server.xml is as follows:

I have many jars in the singlesignon.ear/lib that must be shared to uncomtvv.ear.
I tought that with the parent application tag, this could be possible, but even with the tag on the server.xml, I´m getting java.lang.ClassNotFoundException.
How can I make the jars on the singlesignon.ear/lib be available to the uncomtvv.ear classes?
Any clarification will be appreciated,

Actually, it seems to search the classes first on the WEB-INF/classes of uncomtvv web module and then, instead of searching the lib directory of uncomtvv EAR, it searches the lib dir of singlesignon EAR and finally the instance classloader...
Anybody can explain me why it doesn´t look for the classes on the lib dir of the uncomtvv EAR?
( The jars in lib dir of uncomtvv.ear are referenced by the MANIFEST.MF of META-INF web-module )

A follow on to the last post, after I stopped and then restarted the BPEL Server, the process loaded correctly and the error did not reappear.

Java.Lang.nullpointerexception issue only isolated to a repository on the job server

I am having the
"Java.Lang.nullpointerexception" error message issue only isolated to a repository on the job server.
This error message appearing when i try to execute or create a new schedule for a job on mgmt console.
I have few other repositories in the same server, with those repositories i am not having any issues, in terms of executing a job or creating a new schedule.
Does any one had the similar issue, and know how to resolve it.

BODS is based on 4.0 never was migrated from 3.2
Under this repository almost 30 jobs currently running with no issues, which were created and scheduled before this error started.
THis error message started just two months ago, since then it is not allowing any new jobs to be executed or creating any new schedules.
But all prior jobs are running fine no issues.
FRom designer i am able to execute with no problem, This issue is only happening on Mgmt console and only in this repository.
Repository name has no apostrophe, all repsositories have the same style naming convention.

Java.lang.NullPointerException at oracle.jbo.server.QueryCollection.findByKey(QueryCollection.java:5110)

We have deployed our ADF application in production. We developed using JDeveloper Version 11.1.2.1.0. In a page fragment, there is a inputComboboxListOfValues which is binded to a list of values binding. This list of values binding is mapped to an attribute of a view object which has a lov from a view accessor (through view link).
In this inputComboboxListOfValues component, we get this error sometimes in production and we are neither able to re-produce the error nor able to find the reason for the error.

I noticed that in the application module, these are the settings for passsivation:
jbo.dofailover=false
jbo.passivationstore=null
Do you recommend to change to above settings to
jbo.dofailover=true
jbo.passivationstore=file
We are not using cluster for production environment...

Can you please check any log/trace files for this(usr/sap/SID/j2ee/cluster/log)
probably you can re-start java from SMICM. this will refresh the cache.

The method execute, in class LoginAction, in package com.idealake.RBI.struts.login, on line 72 of the corresponding .java file attempted to use null reference/pointer/value. Which is exactly what the error message you printed tells you. More, we also cannot say, until provided with much more information.

500 Internal server error - java.lang.NullPointerException: null

While trying to access the initial login screen of EP, we face this '500 Internal server error - java.lang.NullPointerException: null' issue very randomly. It appears sometimes and when opened from new browser we get the login screen sometimes. It is not a problem that reproduces always. On the screen where the error appears, we refresh any number of times, no help, the error remains the same, but when we open in a new window, it might give the login screen or end up with this error.
We have 4 Dialog Instances and a Cisco load balancer.
Upon repeated redirection to a particular instance and particular server node(https://<hostname>:<port>/irj/portal;sapj2ee_irj= XXX) from the trace files, I could get the following information :-

Hi, either the problem should come always for us to be able to trouble shoot it or should not come at all.
Now since it comes sometimes, i feel that you surely are using more than one app. servers in your enviroment and some of them are not fine.
I received this error when i accidently had deleted my sso ticket pairs in the visual admin.
First troubleshoot by login to individual app servers where the issue is coming. after that check the certificate-cert key pair in keystore admin. you can also delete them and make new ticket pairs..
If this does not help, replace your login page with the standard sap login page par com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.
