Make Task Flow Inline Popup to close on "esc" button

Hello, I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0
I have created a task flow (with jsf pages not jsff) which I call on button click. I have chosen to display it as Inline Popup and everything works fine. It is just that it does not act like a real af:popup.
When I press "esc" button the popup does not get closed. Does anyone know how to do this?
Thank you

I did not create a popup. I have defined a task flow as inline popup. The task flow contains one page and one return operation. It opens very well and I can get out of there by clicking on a button inside the page of the taskflow that calls the return operation. I need in this case to call the return operation when I pres 'esc'. This because from what I am understanding I must call the return operation to get out of there. Any idea?

  • Customizing Popup Windows - 'close' and 'minimize' buttons

    I am using RoboHelp 7, and while using 'Insert Image Map', I have successfully created and linked pop up windows. The code shows something as: javascript:BSSCPopup('add_order.htm',300,250). At present, it opens up on mouse click (I used <a href...></a> and it disappears on mouse click outside it, with of course drag or resize as required.
    However, how I can customize the pop up window such as adding the toolbar, or ability to 'minimize' or 'close' it, when required (the default _ and x hat we have in UI screens?  I want the control to close or minimize the pop up to remain with the user,

    You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
    *Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

  • Pop up not displaying in Task Flow application?

    Hi...
    I have a button which displays a popup on its click event.
    When i converted this application to a task flow application this stopped working.
    My button code :
    FacesContext facesContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ExtendedRenderKitService service =Service.getRenderKitService(facesContext,ExtendedRenderKitService.class);
    service.addScript(facesContext,"var popup = AdfPage.PAGE.findComponent('pAddPopup'); popup.show();");
    where pAddPopup is pop up window's id.

    Hi,
    jdev version??
    When i converted this application to a task flow application this stopped working.what does this mean? you always get a better answer once you post your question properly.
    This video covers how to use a taskflow as popup : http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/jdeveloper/11gdemos/taskflow-overview-p2/taskflow-overview-p2.html

  • How to invoke a task flow on click of a button(CommandToolbarButton)

    hi All,
    I'm using JDev11g, ADF BC.
    Case Background: I'm designing a screen which has a summary and detail screen in same page. I'm displaying a table from which the user would select a row and click on a button to invoke an action through the Task Flow. In the Task flow i have two fragments one to view the record and other to edit the record. The form to view is read-only and the other is editable.
    Problem: I'm not able to invoke the task flow from click of the button, it just refreshes the page.
    I would like to know how to fix this issue.
    -Jyothi

    Hi,
    can i include page-fragments(.jsff) in the task-flow which is invoked by the select button in the page(.jspx). I would like to know if that could be a reason for the error.

  • Task flow-call  as a Dialog with inline-popup issue JDev 11.1.1.2.0

    I have a very serious issue with task flow-call running as a Dialog with inline-popup
    have bunch of data driven table components pointing to pageDefs with Iterators
    the problem is, the dialog comes first with nothing in it (blank) and it takes 3-5 seconds to fetch all views,
    this is useless, there is no option to control taskflow-call activation , like you do for af:region
    For reference : I am talking about this : http://jobinesh.blogspot.com/2010/08/refresh-parent-view-when-in-line-popup.html
    Download the workspace , connect as HR Schema and you will see what I am talking about
    looks really dumb, it would make sense to show dialog with data all at once, rarther than looking at blank screen to wait for the data to show up

    can I call this a bug?

    sometimes I wonder if anyone tested this, as soon as you have some data driven components on your page, you get all sorts of problems in ADF
    But something simple, Adf client side invokes the Dialog as a popup first, and then it thinks oh ya I get massive pageDef to load, so end-user customer will stare at the blank screen for 10 secs , hoping that something will come up or program is crashed
    Well, I am afraid to say you lost your customer :(

  • How to invoke task flow navigation after closing inline popup?

    Using JDev 11.1.1.3; I have a commandButton that currently executes task flow navigation when pressed. I need however to invoke an inline popup from the button press before executing (conditionally) the task flow navigation. The Action setting on the button then needs to be removed, but it's not clear where to reinstate it. I have the button executing some managed bean code, which conditionally invokes the inline popup, and when the popup (contains af:dialog) is closed, I have some more managed bean code that determines whether the task flow navigation should occur or not. What I need to know is how to fire off the Action from the managed bean. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

    1. To add to Timo's solution:
    you can call those code from DialogListener like:
    public void dLstnr(DialogEvent dle){
    if("ok".equalsIgnoreCase(dle.getOutcome().toString())){
    FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    NavigationHandler nh = context.getApplication().getNavigationHandler();
    System.out.println("1");
    nh.handleNavigation(context, "", "go");
    2. As another solution:'
    you can have custom buttons and on one of then (say OK or Yes) you can call bean method like this as Action:
    public String actionMethod(){
    // DO YOUR LOGIC
    return "NEXT_TARGET";
    for Other button (say Cancel, NO) just close the popup.

  • Help need on Validations in inline-popup task flow

    Hi,
    I create a adf application, which refer ready only table and in toolbar, there are some button, which used to insert and edit records. For insert and edit i used a edit.jspx page which come as a inline poup in taskflow. In inline popup i used a button called submit, which used for two purposes.
    1) To validate two fields(ex:- effectiveto should be greather than effectivefrom)
    2) To close inline popup.
    i have done the validaitons using a managedbean and facesconfig.xml validators. My problem is can i do this both requirements by pressing only submitt button, i mean if validation are passed then automatically close the popup.
    Really appreciate if anyone can help me on this issue.
    Yaham.

    Hi,
    use the button "action" or "action listener" property to close the popup. Validation is processed after the apply request phase in the JSF lifecycle and thus comes before actions to be executed, which will be in invoke application phase.

  • Task-flow for inserting record in a popup

    Hi all,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.0.
    I have a page with a lot of panelTabbed that displays a lot of data of a table.
    I would like to have a button that show a popup and launch a task-flow for inserting data in the table in more steps.
    I have created:
    1) one fragments for every inserting step
    2) a bounded task-flow having an activity (createInsert before the activities (fragments) to insert a new record), with a task flow return (cancel and commit) to save or rollback the data.
    3) obviusly, a button that show the popup for inserting a new record. I have inserted the task-flow defined in 2) as a region in the dialog of my popup.
    When I launch my page:
    1) I see an empty form (instead of seeing the first record)
    2) the data inserting on the popup are not saved
    3) the second time I try to launch the popup, I see nothing, only the OK button of the dialog.
    I know, in the new version of Jdeveloper it is possible to insert a task flow in a popup, but is it possible, in the previous (my) version?
    Thanks
    Andrea

    1) You are seeing an empty form because you are probably calling CreateInsert method of your data control. You should call it only if you are going to create a new record. Also, if this is a new record, you should not show the tabs below. In my case, i am doing like this:
    There are 3 pages, ListPage, CreatePage and Edit Page.
    User first enters to List page (because it is the default activity in taskflow), to list Master records in a table. There are also 2 buttons, Create and Edit. If Create button is clicked, CreateInsert method is invoked and then CreatePage is called. In create page, there are only 1 form of Master's attributes. After user commits, taskflow redirects the page back to ListPage.
    If user selects a row in list page then press Edit button, EditPage is called, but without calling a CreateInsert method. You don't have to invoke any methods if your table in ListPage has a SelectionListener (which is set by default).
    in launch listener, you can run a method like this:
    public void saveState(LaunchEvent launchEvent) {
    DCIteratorBinding ib = ADFUtils.findIterator("YourMasterIterator");
    RequestContext requestContext = RequestContext.getCurrentInstance();
    //we save key.
    String key = ib.getCurrentRow().getKey().toStringFormat(true);
    requestContext.getPageFlowScope().put("yourKey", key);
    and in return listener:
    public void loadState(ReturnEvent returnEvent) {
    RequestContext requestContext = RequestContext.getCurrentInstance();
    if (null == requestContext.getPageFlowScope().get("yourKey"))
    return;
    DCIteratorBinding ib = ADFUtils.findIterator("YourMasterIterator");
    if (null != ib)
    ib.setCurrentRowWithKey((String)requestContext.getPageFlowScope().get("yourKey"));
    You can find ADFUtils.java and JSFUtils.java in Store Front Demo project and some other sample projects.
    2) About the X button... This is the biggest problem of inline-popups. As far as i learned from people in this forum, it is not possible to remove that if you use an inline-popup. And it does not invoke returnListener. But, it does a rollback! I think it is a big problem and i am hoping to find a solution too. Using a popup component instead of inline-popup as dialog can be a workaround.

    Hi Deniz,
    thank you for you reply.
    My task flow is sharing data controls with its caller, because main page displays updatable record, while the button launch a task flow in the popup to create a new record of the same table.
    I have understood what you are saying (save the current key when I launch the popup and restore the key when I return from the popup), but:
    1) when I enter in the main (caller) page, I see an empty form, and not the first record of my table. Why?
    2) the returnListener works even if I close the dialog with the "x" (in the up-right angle of the dialog) or only with its buttons?
    3) where can I find the code/links/examples/guides to implement launchListener and the returnListener for my button?
    Thank you

  • BUG: iPad displays 1cm border around content in task flow popup window

    I have tried this out on JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0, 11.1.2.1.0 and 11.1.2.2.0 and each one seems to have the same problem. When displaying a taskflow in-line popup windows on an iPad (iOS 4.3.5 and iOS 5.1) a ~1cm border is displayed on the left, bottom and top of the window's content, with some of the content (also about 1cm) on the right being cut-off.
    I have also tried my app out on a Android Samsung Galaxy Tab (built-in browser), Android Samsung S1 (built-in) and on my Windows 7 PC in Safari and Firefox. None of these devices/browsers have this problem.
    To replicate this problem the following steps can be followed.
    1) Create a normal fusion web application.
    2) Add a wild card control flow rule to the default unbounded task flow.
    3) Add a new bounded task flow to the unbounded task flow.
    4) Set the bounded task flow 'Run as Dialog' to 'true' and 'Display type' to 'inline popup'.
    5) Link the wild card control flow to the bounded task flow.
    6) Add a single jsf page to the bounded task flow.
    7) Add a panel box to the jsf page (or any other content for that matter)
    8) Create a test page and add a button to it. Set up the button's action properties such that it opens the bounded task flow as a window ('UseWindow' - 'true'; 'WindowEmbedStyle' - 'window'; 'WindowModalityType' - 'modeless' and set width and height).
    Are any workarounds for this? Is there currently a available patch to fix this problem?

    Hi,
    Are any workarounds for this? Is there currently a available patch to fix this problem?
    if nobody dares reproducing this and filing it as a bug then a fix can take a while. I'll put it on a list of my follow ups, but this is not a high priority list. So if you can I appreciate if you can file the bug and provide a testcase. Note that 11.1.2 (11g R2) is not yet optimized for tablet PCs. So JDeveloper 11g R1 (11.1.1.6) is the build that should be used as a reference for filing the bug

  • UI Shell - how to allow ADF Library Bounded Task Flow to close itself

    Hi Richard
    Further to my other post, we're having lots of fun with the UI Shell, it's making mockups very easy.
    Question for you though based around the functionality defined in the UI Shell whitepaper. Say we've created our UI Shell application, and rather than wanting to create the bounded task flows in the app (ie.first, second, third), we create them as standalone bounded task flows deployed to ADF Libraries, and imported into our app separately.
    In the UI Shell examples bounded task flows are opened & closed via the UI Shell's own components (say the navigation page items or toolbar buttons), that call the methods in the Launcher bean (_launchActivity & closeCurrentActivity). It's fairly simple to rewrite the launcher helper methods in the launcher bean to call an imported ADF Library bounded task flow to open it as an activity, just referencing the correct task-flow.xml file.
    However as you know a bounded task flow has a "Default Activity" entry point and one or more "Task Flow Return" exit points. What I haven't been able to work out is how when the bounded task flow exits via a task flow return, can we call the closeCurrentActivity method in the Launcher bean? The UI Shell code examples demonstrate closing a bounded task flow by menu options/or similar outside the bounded task flow in the UI Shell, but it would seem reasonable if the bounded task flow exited via a "Task Flow Return" we should be also able to close the activity tab too.
    (....and as extension, before we even do that potentially call the checkState/isDirty() method to stop the user closing the activity too, but again driven by the bounded task flow attempting to exit).
    I could imagine inserting code into the bounded task flow finalizer to close the activity tab, but this pushes the UI Shell tab activity management logic into our standalone ADF Library bounded task flows which isn't ideal, especially if we want to later reuse them in another app which doesn't use the UI Shell.
    Any suggestions welcome.
    Thanks & regards,
    CM.

    And we're back again.... what's a couple months between friends?
    So it turns out after testing our app (d@mn, so close) that we've hit a bug with this approach.
    Our current app allows one BTF to be open in the UI Shell at any one time. Our menu options automatically open one BTF at a time by the user (max one open), and close the previous BTF. However we have some "special" BTFs that require the user to explicitly close the BTF, which in turn makes use of the regionNavigationListener solution I described earlier in this post.
    However we discovered a bug when we do a complete cycle of the 15 embedded regions within the UI Shell.
    Say we:
    1) Open a normal BTF in region 0
    2) Open another normal BTF in region 1 (our solution automatically closes the previous BTF)
    3) We then open another BTF (again the previous BTF is closed) in region 2, yet this a "special" BTF requiring the user explicitly to close it. Upon the user closing the BTF - this results in the regionNavigationListener being called and the removeTab() method called to close down the BTF in the UI Shell
    4) The user then open/closes multiple normal BTFs, one by one, rotating through regions 3, 4, 5 .... eventually back to 1 again
    5) Then the bug occurs - on opening any BTF back in region 2 (as part of the complete cycle of all regions), the tab for the region 2 opens, correct title, and via debugging the Tab.class has all the right settings including taskFlowId, but the tab is incorrectly empty
    doh!
    I've managed to track a symptom of the problem down that may explain what's happening.
    Each time a tab is rendered with a BTF, the Tab classes getBinding() method returns a reference to the binding required for the current BTF. However for some reason on the complete cycle, for "r2" it returns the binding for the previously user-closed BTF from step 3 above, even though we called the TabContext.removeTab() method.
    What I haven't been able to work out is how the bindings get turned on/off dynamically for each BTF being invoked. Presumably for some reason on step 3, the BTF's bindings aren't being correctly removed from r2 even though we called TabContext.removeTab().
    If anybody has any brain waves about what's going on and how to fix this problem, your help appreciated.
    Regards,
    CM.

  • How to properly close task flow opened in new window?

    Have a question on the best practice to properly close a task flow when it has been opened in a new window.
    We are opening multiple bounded task flows concurrently in new windows but want to make sure the task flows are properly cleaned up. Scenario is that of an email in-box where the user can open multiple messages concurrently. Want to have the "Close" button that closes the window and properly exits the bounded task flow.

    Hi Frank
    I'm hoping the after listener will fire (haven't tested it yet)
    What I would like to do is to create a method in the application module that does (I'm typing this from memory so there might be some typos):
    procedure void cleanTransaction() {
        if this.getDBTransaction().isDirty() {
          this.getDBTransaction().rollback()
    }then expose the method in the application module client implementation.
    Then in a pageFlowScope bean method find the application module and call the cleanTransaction() method.
    The bean method could then be hooked up to the after listenr.
    Would this work, and how do I find the application module ?
    Also I not sure if it is the application module hanlding the transaction or the data frame.

  • How to create Popups in task flows

    Hi,
    Can any one help how can we create popup in taskflow. My requirement is i need to do create/edit operation on a table using task flows i have followed the "http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/11/btf/bounded_task_flow.html#t6" for create/edit operations in this it's navigating to new page, my case i need to invoke a popup instead of page.

    You need to create a separate tf for the edit and use that as a region in your search page.

  • Task-flow for inserting a record in a popup: error on primary key.

    Hi all,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.2.
    I am trying to display a bounded task flow in a popup launched from a page. I am following the steps in: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/fnimphius/popupinuishell/declarative_popup_in_uishell.html
    I have a view object (myVO) and I have a page (page1), where I can edit the records of myVO. In this page I have a button that launches (in a window) a task-flow (insertTF, that uses existing transaction if possible, composed by page2 and page3) where I can insert a new record in two step (using a train).
    At the end of the train I can save or cancel (task flow return activity) the inserting record.
    The button cancel work well, but the button save does not. When I click on it, I return in page1 but I have this error: Error: another user modified row with primary key oracle.jbo.Key [[+numberOfKey+]].
    If I see the database navigator or I refresh the page, I can see the record just inserted.
    How can I do to remove this error?

    There are default values coming from the DB. There are also default values that I have setted in myModel on myEO.
    I am the only user manages the database, there are no other users.
    So, how can I solve this problem? Have I to remove the default value on inserting? From DB or from myEO?
    thanks in advance

  • Inline popup - close icon null pointer issue

    Hi all,
    I have a taskflow which is opened as inline popup dialog. Taskflow is in pageFlowScope.
    The popup has OK, Cancel. On click of OK and Cancel of dialog it returns a value.
    However when I click on Close icon "x" of dialog and return to the calling parent window and try to get the any iterator from the binding container, the iterators are all null.
    I am missing something in my configuration.
    Thanks
    Ajay

    Hi,
    actually clicking teh 'x' does nothing than closing the dialog.
    However when I click on Close icon "x" of dialog and return to the calling parent window and try to get the any iterator from the binding container, the iterators are all null.
    What is the code you use and where and when do you call this code ? And what JDeveloper version are you working with ?
