Making a link with a non editable area

Hello I have made this cool looking design in photo shop and
sliced it up and then somehow made the whole i.e. the images non
editable enough to use the hotspot to make a link. Is their a way I
can highlight and drag any area on a web page and make a link? My
webpage is www.wordfree.net I want to make links for my
navigation.

No. Your entire approach is wrong, though, made worse by the
use of

No code changes to template non editable areas but says I have

Hi,
I've created a template (a number of times trying to figure out what is going so horribly wrong here) with no problems. And I've created pages from the template. That goes fine too.
When I go back to make changes in those pages in editable areas I get this alert: "You have made changes to code that is not marked as editable. If you retain those changes, they will be lost the next time you apply a template update to this file. Do you want to retain the changes until then.?"
I for sure haven't made any changes in any of the non-editable areas (isn't part of the reason for a template that you can't make changes?!)
Even if I just click in the "Title" at the top of the page, I get the message. I don't have to type anything to get the message.
Crazy stuff and it's making me crazier.

That border property clicked when I put your code into my DW, the style property is set on the image, which is shouldn't be and because it's in a non-editable area, the code should have been in grey (locked), but it was actually in red.
If you look at the above code, one style is written on the image: (as per your sample code above)

and the other on the id partner-logo
Remove the style property from the image and hopefully that will fix it.

Can a PDF template be created with editable and non-editable areas?

Sorry - probably a bit of a newbie question but i can't find an answer to this anywhere. Hope i'm also posting in the most relevant forum - apologies if i'm not.
I have been asked by a client if i can create (from an existing illustrator CS4 file) a PDF template with restricted editable areas - two to handle text for email and physical address and one to allow logos to be swapped. All other items and text need to be locked. Is it feasible to create this from the Illustrator file (or InDesign, Acrobat Pro etc) and if so how? and what software would the client need in order to do the edits and then save as a final version for print?

I ended up chanigng the numeric field to a decimal field instead, and added the following display pattern: num{zzzz9.99'%'}
So although the user can't enter a % symbol into the field, a % symbol automaticaly populates when the user enters a number.
My criteria involved ensuring that a user could not enter a number with more than two numbers after the decimal, so I also set a trailing digits max of 2 (in the Obect > Field settings)
This is the FormCalc formula I used in the "calculate" event to calculate the salary increase amount request: (DecimalField1 * NumericField2) *.01 + NumericField2
This formula is meant to calculate the salary amount a manager is requesting their employee's salary be increased to.

Adding a non-editable area?

I'm certain that I once saw an example showing how a website
designer could add some code to a page to prevent Contribute users
from editing an area. I've looked in documentation for both
Dreamweaver and Conribute, but I can see no mention of it. I
actually use GoLive to build sites. Any help would be
appreciated.

You need to use Dreamweaver and generate a Dreamweaver
template file with editable and non-editable regions. I'm not aware
if GoLive has this feature and if its supported. (I think it
doesn't)

Making Quantity and Purchasing group non editable in SRM4.0

We are in SRM 4.0,
We have a requirment where in we need to make Quantity and Purchasing group fields non editable if we pick catalogs.
I tried following :-
1, In SRM4.0 BBP_UI_CONTROL_BADI does not have BBP_SC_UI_CTRL method.
2, Tried using below code in BBP_SCREENVARIANT Badi but i am not able to keep a condition(for catalogs only). Thus it is working for all scenerios.
Kindly provide some pointers .

You l get a relavent one, if you go through all those.

Can I open a E-book, which is linked with Adobe Digital Editions On another computer of Mine?

I Have an Ebook, Which can be opened only by using Adobe Digital Editons,
Thus, i downloaded the adobe digital Editons, and authorised it without Adobe id and Passdode..
But now, i found out that i cant open the file in another computer of mine...Is there a possibility for me to open the ebook in another computer of mine

You must authorize the second computer with the same Adobe ID.
There are sometimes issues with this registration: if you have them ....
Sometimes ADE gets its registration/activation confused and in a semi-authorized state.
Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help.
Unfortunately, it often then gives misleading error messages about what is wrong.
A common incorrect message informs you that the ID is already in use on another computer and cannot be reused.
This can often be resolved by completely removing any authorization using ctrl-shift-D to the Library screen on ADE (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).
Restart ADE, and then reauthorize with your (old) Adobe ID.

Making a form with a non printing background

I need to make a form for an overprint on a 4-up postcard sheet. The postcard is preprinted, but I want to show it in the PDF form so that the user knows where the data is going to be when they print out the form. So basically I need everything but the form data to be non printing. I tried looking for something like this in the Help but I don't know what keywords to use to look for this. Is it possible?
I have Acrobat Pro 8.

You could use the background option to import the comp and then fade
back using the opacity level - this would then provide a background
which (if configured) would show inside the PDF but not print ..

open this .hpj project into robo help Html to create chm file .
when i m opening this project into robohelp html it is making .xpj
project from the hpj project .
but at this time poject has some links with external chm but
when i m making hyper link with external chm using Remote toppic
option this option i couldn't unable to found any where in robohelp
html plz anyone can know help me out from this

Hi Ruziyo and welcome to the RH forums.
If you are opening up your project via the XPJ file in
RoboHelp HTML the remote topic should be able to be found by:
- Highlighting what is to be hyperlinked.
- Clicking the Insert > Hyperlink menu item (or use the
toolbar icon or Cntl + K).
- Click on the arrow to the right of the "Link To" field.
- Select the Remote Topic option.
- Select the CHM file that contains the topic to which the
hyperlink is linked to.
- Select the required topic.
You will be asked to copy the CHM into your project
directory. Hope this answers your question. If not, please do come

Selecting in Non-Editable JTextField in JDK 1.4

Posting as new thread - maybe somebody can help.
I want a formatted non-editable (!) display component (for incoming Instant Messages, if anyone cares), which allows selecting with the mouse (including selection highlighting) and then copying FROM it into another application or window. Currently (starting from JDK 1.4), this does not appear to be possible with a JTextArea. It works absolutely fine in all 1.3 JDKs, so It appears it was broken starting with JDK 1.4.
Imagine not being able to copy FROM your Web browser (which is non-editable) INTO another application. That's what the situation is currently like.
So - maybe I'm missing the obvious (well, a setSelectable(true) method would probably be TOO obvious), but can anyone help me as to how I can achieve the desired effect.
From how I understood the workarounds in another thread, they would mean actually making the TextPane editable, but preventing all edits. Oh, and manually making its appearance resemble a non-editable Pane, so that the GUI doesn't appear inconsistent. SURELY this cannot be reasonable.

I managed to boil the problem down to a simple test case (and, in doing so, actually found a fix for our problem). It seems that JTextPane does not allow selection if the method isFocusTraversable (which, by the way, is deprecated in JDK 1.4) is overridden:

If you remove the comment lines around the inner class method, selection stops working. If you leave the comments in, selection and copy/paste do indeed work.
Now why, one wonders, does a method which is deprecated in JDK 1.4 actually cause a PROBLEM in JDK 1.4 that wasn't there before?

the reminder days are entered in purchasing value key.
purchasing value key is entered to a material master.
From material master the values default to a new info record
from Info record the reminder days flow into the next POs .
If you want remind a vendor, then you do this with ME91F

Making a PDF with LiveCycle then being able to edit pages, insert pages, delete pages, attach files to document, be readable in Adobe Reader etc.

We have been working for some time with LiveCycle to creat a documents and have experienced a host of problems with the end product.
1. Images inserted into the LiveCycle PDF document often come up as "broken links" after editing the document and resaving it.
2. Documents will not display in Acrobat reader unless a digital signature is applied to them and the document is re-saved.
3. After making the document, we are unable to use Adobe Pro to insert pages, delete pages, or insert files into the document as attachments.
The end state was to use the simplicity of LiveCycle to create a document and do most of the hard work, and then save it as a PDF document that could be easily edited with Adobe Pro. It has proven difficult, to say the least, to figure out how to make this work.

2- It only seems rational that if I make a form with LiveCycle that I should be able to view it with Adobe Reader or Adobe Pro.
Making a form with LiveCycle to be distrubuted to personnel internally that have Adobe Reader and Adobe Pro and cannot open it without it having a digital signature field in it that has just recently been signed just doesn't make sense. Nor does it seem to make sense to have to purchase 200 additional licenses just for LiveCycle so that people can open a PDF that was made with LiveCycle. If I make it in LiveCycle and only people with LiveCycle can open it, what is the purpose of making it to begin with?
3- This also totally sucks. In a standard Adobe Doc I can at least attach documents to it?
So, what, exactly then, is the purpose of LiveCycle if the only benefit it seems to provide is ease of creation, but the end product has way less functionality?
And how do I go about contacting an Adobe rep on the phone in regards to this without getting "there is no support for this product, go to Adobe.com"
We have millions of dollars of Adobe software and can't get support other than hunting and pecking in these forums? Really?

Making the whole po line item as a non editable one (Greyed out)

can any one please let me know is there is any way we can grey out the whole line item,
i mean to say non editable mode.
i am working on a user exit where based on certain field entries i have to make the whole line
item as an non editable one.
For example po change transaction if there are 5 line items i want to make the three as a non editable one and i have a user exit
with me but dont have the idea of how to make it geryed out.

I have set the Update Allowed and Insert Allowed properties to Yes, still the fields are non editable.

Were you able to change the values on the screen but couldn't save it to the database or you couldn't even change the values in the item's on the form's screen???
When you say you are not able to change values, what is the error code/message you are receiving????? You need to provide some information.
Can you explain the above approach? and if we have trigger on the view, then the fields will be editable?If your view is a simple view with no join between two tables, then you can update if you have a join bewteen 2 or more tables and you have calculated fields then you need to have database triggers on the view to execute DML operations on the base tables.

Acrobat Pro 9 Mac**Making a pdf fill-out form non-editable when it is completed.

HELP!!
If anyone out there can help me I would greatly appreciate it.
I see the forums are with LifeCycle but I need direction for the mac version of acrobat pro.
I am creating a fill-out pdf form for distribution. I would like the person who receives the fill out form to complete the form,
and click a "lock all fields" button or "form completed" button that will make all form fields lock/ non editable when emailed back to me.
Where would I put this script? Can someone give me step by step direction for this button?
I am a novice to this. I don't know how to run a javascript for the button or what is needed to get this completed.
Can someone please help me.
