Making OAF pages run faster
Hi
When we run OAF pages using JDeveloper, the pages typically take upto 30 minutes to run.
What are the various ways to improve the speed of the same?

One thing that you can do to improve performance only by a fraction is to supress the log in output, nothing significant happens, 30 minutes would become 28 minutes at the max.
Other than that, if this is remote developement then the only option is to have Tarantella(or similar tool).

Hi All,
I created one sample and starting OAF page which displays only the brand logo.
But when I am trying to Run the page it is creating an error as
An error was encountered when running
"JDeveloper\jedevhome\jdev\myclasses\JRADXML":
No response received in 30 secs.
Please try the following
1) Increase the timeout limit by setting the JRAD.RUNREG_TIMEOUT parameter in the ide.properties file located in system directory.
2) Check the Host Name in the Preferences, under Embedded OC4J.
3) See the log window for any error message.
I am using Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0 version.
I am not ware where this ide.properties file is present. I have totally 4 files in the paths:
1. \jdevhome\jdev\system\oracle.jdeveloper.10.1.3.41.57
2. \jdevhome\jdev\system11.1.1.6.38.62.29\o.jdeveloper
3. \jdevhome\jdev\system11.1.1.6.38.62.29\o.sqldeveloper.11.2.0.10.4
4. \jdevbin\jdev\system\oracle.jdeveloper.10.1.3.41.57
But, in any of this files there is no such thing as timeout parameter.
I am very new to the Oracle and this OAF part. Please let me know how this issue can be resolved.

Thanks.There is no such functionality... in OA Framework, by which u can turn all the fields on a page to read only by some page layout region property. You would have to set the read only property to true for each bean in the page.

OAF: passing parameters to report from OAF page and running concurrent prog
Hi Everyone,
i have an OAF page with 10 fields after filling those fields i need to press "Submit" button.
On pressing Submit button 5 parameters i have to pass to the xml publisher report to run the concurrent program and display the output in pdf format.(Out of 10 fields on the page the first 5 fields will be passed as parameters)
How can i pass parameters from OAF page to the report(concurrent program)?
and how can i call concurrent program?
and how can display the output of the report in pdf format after calling the concurrent program?

XML report will generate output in PDF format , first you need to try generating report separately , manually submit
the concurrent program and make sure every thing goes well .
Once the above step is done you can try to submit the concurrent from controller class . The submitRequest method
will return the request ID of the concurrent program .
Now with the help of this request ID you can redirect the page to Oracle standards Request Page( you can monitor
the status of concurrent program and view output ) this can be done with the following piece of code

1. Hope you have placed the custom jsp page (which you have downloaded from server) under "jdevhome\jdev\myhtml\OA_HTML" directory ?
2. Try to run the custom jsp page from Jdeveloper directly and check whether its working properly or not ?
(i.e. add jsp page to any project in Jdeveloper then right click on jsp page and select Run xxx.jsp)
3. If page errors out then custom jsp page seems require few parameters to run it successfully. Pass all requied parameters and test.
4. There is no problem in the way you are calling jsp page from OAF page.

JBO Exception while running OAF page from Jdev
Hi All,
I am using jdev 10.1.3 on R12 instance.
I am trying to customize a standard OAF page.
For that I downloaded all the related directories from the server and placed it in the corresponding folders of jdev.
When I rebuild the page it is rebuilding successfully, but when I run the page it is showing some jbo exception.
The exception details are attached in word file.
If anyone faced such issues before please share your thoughts.

JyothiPlease paste the error stack and while running the page from Jdev make sure that you have updated DBC file and check the runtime connections in project properties. check the database connection as well.

Running OAF page from JDeveloper
Hi,
For customizing an existing page , I have to load the current OAF page in JDeveloper. I have already transfered all the contents from JAVA_TOP and other files in necessary folders. When I run the page from JDeveloper, I am getting error page like "Page Cannot be displayed". What should i do , in order to run the page successfully from Jdev. I have to customize the page. Help me out, its urgent.

NarainSounds to me like OC4J settings and browser proxy settings.
1. If you are using R12 JDeveloper, Tools -> Embedded OC4J server preferences
2. on the left side click through Global -> Startup
3. on the right side, select the radio button "Local host's full name"
if you still have the problem, set your browser proxy settings to bypass localhost

Hi Folks,
I am facing the following error when I am running the OAF page from Jdeveloper 9i.
I have checked the dbc file, responsibility key and id, Username and pwd. Everything is fine. But even I am getting this error.
Please help me how to resolve this issue.

Hi,
I am trying to run sample tutorial OAF page in R12 (OAF Version 10.1.3) and I am getting the following error. I have already created a sample OAF page couple of weeks before with same machine and same version of JDEV and got migrated successfully. Not sure all of a sudden why this error is cropping up again. I have tried all possibilities mentioned in the forum and finally after giving up posting the same to get some help from experts. I would appreciate if anybody can help out with their expertise. I am just trying to run tutorial project to test if connection is fine...
Please try the following:
1) Increase the timeout limit by setting the JRAD.RUNREG_TIMEOUT parameter in the ide.properties file located in the system directory
2) Check the Host Name in the Preferences, under Embedded OC4J
3) See the Log window for any error messages.
I have ensured shutting down OC4j server, tried deleting system directory and reopen jdev again but still JDeveloper is throwing me the above error.

Running seeded OAF page in JDeveloper
I'm trying to run a seeded OAF page in Jdeveloper. I get error when i try to run (right click and run on the page). Steps followed to load the page in JDeveloper...
1. zip JAVA_TOP and load in myclasses in JDeveloper
2. zip MDS file (for OKC) and load in myprojects in JDeveloper
3. Create a new workspace and project
4. Add the page i need to run in project properties/project content.
5. Right click on XML page to run
I have to eventually customize the page to add few additional tabs. Currently I want to try to run the seeded page with no changes and then start from there.
Please advise as to what should I look at in order to resolve the error. This is for OKC module and pages I am getting error on are (ContractDetailsPG.xml AND UpdateContractPG.xml). I tried few other pages and they run fine (from same MDS folder). These are for contract repository responsibility. When opening these pages from Oracle application (using proper responsibility), they are fine.

GB doesn't allow the midi signal in from my Yamaha p-250 keyboard
