Manage cloud files for a team

Hi,
With have full entreprise licences for a small team. Each member of the team is able to share file from his cloud.
How can I manage (maybe with administrator priviledge) all the files and folders for the team?

  • Need advice for starting a Managed Cloud Service for Small Businesses

I hope this is in the right forum.  I have done a lot of research and searching but havent found anything that specifically answers, in total, what I am wanting to accomplish.  I live in a small town and want to start a Managed Cloud Services for
small to small-medium business in my area (2-30 users for each business).  I want to market this to have businesses replace their in-house server(s) to virtual ones I would host in a local Data Center with my own equipment that I would maintain.  I
am just starting off so I don't have any clients I do this for currently, but I get asked about this frequently.  I want to run a 2012 R2 Domain Controller and a Hyper-V 2012 R2 server.  The virtual servers I will host are going to be for AD, RDS,
FTP, and files.  Software examples that people are going to be using these virtual servers for are Quickbooks, Sage Accounting, Remote Desktop or RemoteApp, custom CRM or small database software, Office 2013, etc.  No Exchange currently but will
probably configure something for that in the future (maybe run 1-3 virtually for now if someone asks, but will only do it if the user base is fairly small ~under 10 users).  I only have 1 static IP to work with over a 100Mbps connection up and down.
For hardware, I am figuring something along the lines of this:
    (1) 1U, single CPU w/2-4 cores, 8GB, 2x73GB SAS 10k RAID 1, Dual PSU, running Windows Server 2012 R2
    Domain Controller
    (1) 2U, 2x 8-core Xeon ~2.6Ghz, 80GB RAM, 8x600GB SAS 15k in Raid 10 for Storage (VHDX files, etc), RAID 1 small Basic drives (or USB stick) for OS, Dual PSU, Quad GB Nic which I can use for load balancing/teaming, Hyper-V
    2012 R2
    Hyper-V Virtual Server
    (1) GB Unmanaged Network Switch & (1) Cisco 5510 Firewall
Most of my questions are about the best way to configure this.  I am planning on managing my Hyper-V from the physical Domain Controller server.  Each virtual server will have RDS & (possibly) AD services on a single server.
    1) I want to replicate the physical Domain Controller.  Should I get another server or just virtualize the replica in Hyper-V?  I understand that if the Hyper-V goes down, so does my DC replica.
    2) Should I use my Domain Controller to manage ALL users on each virtual Server, by creating separate Organizational Units for each business?
    3) Should I setup my domain controller with Hyper-V management and then each Virtual Server I setup be a separate domain (Ex. mydomain.local, business1.local, business2.local, etc)?  Each one has no connection to any
other, completely seperate.  Or should I do subdomains (business1.mydomain.local).
    4) What I have read is that Subdomains are a pain to manage with user rights, etc.  I want to keep each server complete separated from one another over a network connection, I suppose the VLan through Hyper-V options
do this?  I dont want wondering users to stumble upon another businesses files (I know they would probably be prompted with a login for that business/domain).
    5) For each virtual server, I want to create and have an HTTP subdomain point to that server from my domain name. (Ex: business1.mydomain.com, business2.mydomain.com, etc.)  I want them to be able to have access to
only their RemoteApps or be able to type that address in their Remote Desktop program as the host name.  This would be for viewing the RemoteApp login page and RemoteApps for that business over HTTP/S through a browser.
    6) If I do not have separate DC's in each virtual and my main DC manages each one, is their a way to connect up each companies RemoteApps using a single site that only shows what they are assigned to based upon their login?
(Ex. http://login.mydomain.com which then shows that user what they are assigned on their own virtual server)
    7) Since each business will use the same ports for RemoteApp (443) & RDC (3389 unless I change it), how would I setup the subdomains to point to their correct server and not overlap for mess with any of the other servers
since its all over 1 static WAN IP for all servers.  Thats why I figured setting up IIS subdomains would solve this.
    8) For backups or Hyper-V replication, is it better to have software that backs up the ENTIRE Hyper-V server (Acronis Advanced Backup for Hyper-V) as well as replication or just backups?  Or should I do separate file
backup on each virtual with a replica?  Can a replica be a slower server since its just a backup? (Ex. 1x 8 core, 80GB, 8x600GB 10k SAS)
    9) For the servers that will be using FTP, can I again rely on the subdomains to determine which server to connect to on port 21 without changing each FTP servers ports?  I just want each business/person to type in
the subdomain for their business and it connect up to their assigned FTP directory over port 21.
    10) If the physical DC manages DNS for all Virtual servers, can I forward sub domain requests to the proper virtual server so they connect to the correct RemoteApp screen etc.  Again all I have is 1 IP.
I hope all of these questions make sense.  I just want every business to be independent of each other on the Hyper-V, each on their own virtual server, all without changing default ports on each server, each server running RDS, (possibly) AD, (a few) FTP,
and all over a common single WAN IP.  Hoping subdomains (possibly managed through IIS on the physical DC) will redirect users to their appropriate virtual server.

If you really want to run your own multi-tenant service provider cloud, Microsoft has defined the whole setup needed.
They call it Infrastructure as a Service Product Line Architecture.  You can find the full documentation here -
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/yuridiogenes/archive/2014/04/17/infrastructure-as-a-service-product-line-architecture.aspx
There are several different ways of configuring and installing it.  Here is a document I authored that provides step-by-step instructions for deploying into a Cisco UCS and EMC VSPEX environment -
    http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/UCS_CVDs/ucs_mspc_fasttrack40_phase1.pdf
This document contains the basic infrastructure required to manage a private cloud.  I will soon be publishing a document to add the Windows Azure Pack components onto the above configuration.  That is what would more easily provide a multi-tenant
experience with a Azure look and feel.  It is not Azure, but the Azure pack is a series of applications, some of which came from Azure, the provides Azure-like capabilities only in a service provider type of environment.
Whether you use my document or not (which has actually corrected errors found in the Microsoft documentation), you should take a look at it to see what it takes to put something like this up, if you are really serious about it.  It is not a small undertaking.
It requires a lot of moving pieces to be coordinated.  Yes, my document is designed to scale to a large environment, but you need the components that are there.  No need re-inventing the wheel.  Microsoft's documentation is based on a lot of
real hands on experience of their consulting organization that has been doing this for customers for years.  This one is also know as Fast Track 4.  I've done 2 (2008 R2) and 3 (2012), also and it just keeps getting more complicated based on customer
    demands and expectations.
    Good luck!

  • Is there a permissions system in Cloud Files for sharing with peers?

My organization is interested in migrating to Creative Cloud, and a large part of that would be to replace the generic online file storage system that we currently use to store assets and graphics files.  I understand that files belong to individuals, however my question is about sharing with a limited set of individuals...
For instance, if an employee uploads some assets received from a client, and these assets are needed by a team, but due to IP contracts it's important they aren't accessible to anyone else, is this possible using Cloud Files?
In addition, say a group of employees is working on a Photoshop file, and one person needs to make a change that everyone else needs before they may continue working on it.  Is it possible for one employee to lock the file so nobody else can modify it until the lock is released?
Thanks, I look forward to your answers!

This will be possible once improved sharing and collaboration are released. This will be soon by is not yet available. You will see several threads in the forums of customers requesting folder sharing. Folder sharing will be one part of it, but also there will be private sharing with specific individuals.
Currently you can only share individual files and the shared url is public.

  • You cannot change your default location of "Creative Cloud Files" for sync from desktop

So, I'm finding that I am restricted from moving the "Creative Cloud Files" container (for syncing to the cloud from my desktop). It is bound to C:Users/Name and will not move.
This is very saddening and seems like an elementary function that should be included.
I do not want to store things on my small SSD C: drive -- thanks.
    Am I missing something here?

    Hi Mark,
As per Adobe F.A.Q, I would like to state that :http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html
"Your files remain on your local hard drive. You can also choose to take advantage of the ability to synchronize your local files with your Creative Cloud storage. Even if you choose to sync your files to Creative Cloud, you will always have a local copy of your files."
There are some workarounds, it might work out, you can try it : It is for windows
First, stop the sync and exit the app ( right-click on the Connection icon and click Turn Sync Off, right-click again and choose Exit )
Go to “C:\Users\your user name” folder and locate Creative Cloud Files folder
Move the folder to a different location ( e.g. “D:\Data\Creative Files” ) and make sure that you move complete Creative Cloud Files folder
Run cmd.exe in admin privileges ( type cmd in Start menu, right click on cmd and select Run as administrator )
    Type following:
    mklink /J “C:\Users\your_user_name\Creative Cloud Folder” “D:\Data\Creative Files”
You should receive message that the junction is created ( refer to this guide if you need more help:Complete Guide to Symbolic Links (symlinks) on Windows or Linux )
Now to test it BEFORE you turn on the Connection app simply copy something to “D:\Data\Creative Files” folder, than go to Creative Cloud Files folder in your users folder and you should see the file you copied
If you are able to see the file, all you have to do is to start the Connection app! Hooray!
This guide should work for Windows 7 and Windows 8.

  • Color Management and files for web

I'm doing a layout for a web page in AiCS(11). What are the correct color management policies I should use so the colors will display in Illustrator as they will on the web.
So far I cannot find a combination that works. Even if I (i think) have color management off.
    Christo.

Here's the more complete, accurate approach to this.
In System preferences > Displays > Color run the calibration routine and set the gamma for your display profile to 2.2
That has nothing to do with Illustrator or Photoshop color settings but everything to do with how well your display is prepared to show you how your images will look on Windows displays.
In Illustrator, choose sRGB for your working RGB space.
For profile mismatch policies, for RGB, "Convert to Working Space" is often a good choice for beginners who only do Web work. After you have studied up and practiced some, or if you do more general art prep in Illustrator, you may want to instead use "Preserve Embedded Profiles."
I do a lot of Web and print work for a number of purposes. All in all, if you are preparing artwork for the Web, you will have best results if you profile your display with a colorimeter and work in sRGB. The only reason to preview in Monitor RGB is to preview how the image will look when the profile is stripped, or when it is displayed in an application ON YOUR CURRENT MONITOR ONLY that isn't color managed.

  • Manage Camapign contacts for Outbound team in Queue

Is there a way that I can manage contacts associated to campaigns as part of a queue? I don't wish to assign the contacts to particular owners but would like them to access a list or queue and have 'get next' type functionality?
Has anyone else had this requirement and found a way to manage this? I dont' want the users to open the same record at the same time. Is this supported?

No real way to do this, but you can create a user called 'Pooled Leads'. Have all unassigned leads assigned to this user and give all your users access to the 'Pooled' leads (through the books functionality).
Once a user would like to get the 'next' lead, they can change the owner to their own user and take ownership of it. Of course you'll have to 'sacrifice' a user/license for this, but it will work.

  • How do I buy cloud creative for my team?

I'm supposing that I can purchasing and manage license on web, like Google Apps, but I just see a link to find reseller. I don't think it's natural to buy Adobe cloud licence service via reseller

    I'm in South-East Asia region.
In the buy page I have this, you can see that there's no "Choose a plan" link:
Going around, I can find the "choose a plan" page, but the Join button is disabled, I must contact via phone or request consultation.

  • Creative cloud files and lightroom

Is it possible to use the creative cloud Files for two users to upload and use a lightroom catalog?
We'd like to be able to upload files (on creative cloud files) at one location, and have another user view and rate these files at a different location.
    Is this possible?

No moving of files is needed.
Just launch the Creative Cloud version of Lightroom. It should find your existing LR 5.5 catalog and make use of it; if it does not happen automatically, in the CC version of LR use File->Open Catalog

  • Can you add a single app subscription to Existing Cloud for Teams for new team member?

Is it possible to add single app subscriptions to an existing CC Team Acct? I have a team member that needs an Adobe Acrobat IX Pro subscription and would like to manage it from my CC Teams management tools.

    Indeed!
The trouble I have is that I CANNOT allow this user to have the full suite. I am implementing software inside of a cGMP manufacturing facility (nutritional supplements). Part of our "label artwork" change control is the fact that not only are critical files locked, but also no-one in the company can edit the files even if they copied them to desktop.
I can't allow a project manager, or executive, or admin assistant the same software capacity to edit critical files as the art dept, in the event that their changes might slip through to production.
Now granted, I could create literal policies to compensate for this situation, but does an admin person really need Premier Pro and AfterEffects? Nope, not really. I could see an argument in favor of the document production tools, but the web and video tools are complete overkill.
I had been hoping to implement a series of Acrobat Pro suites, to enable an easy form of document signing. I didn't want to implement any form of server based signature authentication, since our process is wholly internal and not subject to serious security concerns.  I've been forced to shelve the project for now while I investigate more options, which means adobe missed out on some sales.
Hopefully, Creative Teams will be expanded to have more flexibility as Adobe matures their product offering.

  • How do I specify the 'My Documents' folder as the sync directory for 'Creative Cloud Files'?

I know how to move the 'Creative Cloud Files' directory within preferences, but when I do this, it simply moves the 'Creative Cloud Files' directory within the 'My Documents' folder. I do not think you can set a specific folder as a 'sync' folder in the preferences. Would creating a symbolic link to the contents of 'My Documents' in 'Creative Cloud Files' directory work to enable the contents of 'My Documents' to sync with the cloud? This is for within Windows 8 BTW...

Yes, I understand this. Perhaps a suggestion then to offer this as a feature in a future update. It would be useful to be able to specify an existing documents directory. For example, I have a couple of years worth of client work (psd, html, tpl files mainly) that would be useful to be able to have synched to the cloud without having to relocate them. I have sites configured in Dreamweaver that if I moved those files to the Creative Cloud folder, I would have to reconfigure all those sites. It would just make management of the various Adobe file types easier to have this option.
    Thanks for your help anyways.
    Chris

  • EM Cloud 12c Management Agent Software for linux x86

    Hello folks
I need to acquire Management Agent Software for linux x86 using offline mode. I followed steps described in online documentation of Oracle Cloud Control 12c, section "4.2.3.2 Acquiring Management Agent Software in Offline Mode"
I downloaded the catalog file p9348486_112000_Generic.zip, but when I executed import_update_catalog as follow:
    /em12c/oms12cr3/oms/bin/emcli import_update_catalog -file=/app/em12c/swlib/p9348486_112000_Generic.zip -omslocal
    this error apears:
"Internal error while validating catalog file format: error in opening zip file"
    thanks in advance

    --> $/AGENT_INST/bin/emctl stop agent
If agent does not shutdown gracefully then kill all agent background processes by first grepping for agent perl and java processes only
--> Move your existing target.xml file
    mv target.xml target.xml.old
--> Create an empty targets.xml file under /AGENT_INST/sysman/emd with the below content
    <Targets>
    </Targets>
    --> Start the agent
    $AGENT_INST/bin/emctl start agent
This starts agent but without any targets populated in targets.xml
To discover targets perform agent resynchronization operation from console

  • I am looking into Lightroom (Creative Cloud) to allow a Team Member access my Catalog to keyword search which images will work for our Social Media platforms.

I am looking at LR Creative Cloud to allow a Team Member access my catalog so she can keyword search which images will work for our social media campaigns. My catalog has both personal and business images (which are in separate folders), however, I only want them to access the business images. What is the best way to do this?
and a second question as I am new to the Cloud LR product. I am assuming that my images still stay on my external drive...how am I or her able to view these images if I am out of town on another computer?

My catalog has both personal and business images (which are in separate folders), however, I only want them to access the business images. What is the best way to do this?
I think the only way in Lightroom to make this happen is to use two catalogs, one for business and one for personal, and then prevent access to the personal catalog via putting it on a disk or location that your team member does not have access to.
I am assuming that my images still stay on my external drive...how am I or her able to view these images if I am out of town on another computer?
Situations like this require you to put the catalog file AND photos on the external HD and then move the external drive to whatever location and whatever computer is needed. An alternative is to put the photos on a network drive and the catalog file on a local disk and access the catalog locally and the photos via network, but that limits you to using a single computer.
I am looking at LR Creative Cloud to allow a Team Member access my catalog so she can keyword search which images will work for our social media campaigns.
As far as I know, this does not require Creative Cloud, nor does Creative Cloud help in this situation. Furthermore, if you are thinking about a situation where you and your team member have simultaneous access to the catalog(s) of interest, this is not possible in Lightroom. Lightroom is a single user application.
If you are interested in a true multi-use application, where more than one individual can access a catalog at the same time, you might want to look at Daminion. Note: I am not endorsing or recommending Daminion, as I have never used it; I simply point out the that it has the feature being discussed.

That depends on what kind of "files" you're talking about and what your employer's policy is on using cloud storage.
I found dropbox and/or OneDrive work very well for keeping documents in sync between multiple machines.
