Managed Links in Rich Text

Hi
I want to add a managed link into my rich text field so that the link in the Rich Text Field points to an item in a list of links.
When the user clicks on the link in the rich text field, the page pointed to by the item in the list of links is displayed rather than the url in the list of links.
Is there a way of doing this in JavaScript / jquery ?
Thanks
Nigel
Nigel Price NJPEnterprises

Hi Nigel,
We can type the text string (e.g. MSN) in Rich Text Field firstly, then select this string MSN and insert the specific shortcut item from SharePoint library, then this text string MSN will point to the "Link to a Document" item as a hyperlink, when we click
it we will be redirected to the shortcut hyperlink (may msn.com).
Thanks,

  • Gettinig 404 error when I try to add an embedded link in Rich Text area

    Hello everyone,
I am using 9.0.4.1 and I am trying to enter a number of URLs into a rich text field. I highlight the text I want to be the link, then click the link button and enter the url. If I try to enter more than 3 (or 4, or 5, the number varies) links, when I click the Finish button, I get directed to 404 - file not found page. The URL of this page is server/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwv_edit_tab.editItem.
Do any of you have any clue as to what is going on here?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Jim Koch

    Christian,
Thanks for the advice. We ended up logging a TAR regarding this, and after working with support, we came to the conclusion that an upgrade we performed last week was causing the problem and that we needed to install patch #4015165. We installed the patch, and now the problem appears to have disappeared.
    Thanks again everyone,

  • Using the Document Manager Rich Text Editor

I'm wondering whether there is a reasonable way we can use the Rich Text Editor (based on CKEditor) that is contained within the Document Manager task flow (primarily for editing Wiki pages) outside of the Document Manager itself? We have another type of content we need a Rich Text Editor for, but it would be great if we could use the inline image links, tables, links to documents in the content repository, etc.

Have you consider use Site Studio + Content Presenter?

write a description for each type, I want, that this description is display in the ITEM TEXT in tc FB03.
But the ITEM TEXT displayed always for example *Trip from 09.06.2008 to 12.06.2008

Where can I customize this field?

    Hello Dirk,
You can use the method ex_sgtxt of Badi TRIP_POST_FI to manipulate the transferred segment text!

  • Broken links because of the Rich Text Editor

    Hi.
We are actually using the item type "text" to insert sorts of HTML code into our pages, specially when we need to create tables. Since we are using Internet Explorer we have enabled the rich text editor to use in item types text; it has a check box that allows the user to view the text in HTML format, so that is the way we build tables and also "href" links to other pages inside our site.
The problem is this: when I write the path for the HREF links I don't specify the COMPLETE path (that is, without the server name and the portnumber), but when I open the item for edit, the Rich Text Editor seems to be including the server name and the port number in my href path, even when I didn't specify it when creating it.
I need help with this, please. We are using this server for trial purposes, but what would happen when we move the entire site to another server? I guess Portal won't resolve the URLs, but we will have too many broken lists.
    Thank you all.

    hi guillermo,
with the release of the 9.0.4.1 patchset we now support a new enhanced rich text editor that has very good table support as well as support for relative URLs.
for detailed information please have a look at the following technote that we published recently on OTN:
    http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/OTN_CONTENT/MAINPAGE/PUBLISH_CONTMGMT/RICH_TEXT_EDITOR_TECH_NOTE.PDF
this new rich text editor should adress your requirements.

  • Rich text editor Issues in Experience Manager

    Hi,
We are extensively using rich text cartridges for most static pages. We usually copy entire html content into the rich text cartridge source.
It was seen that after saving the content, the editor formats the HTML tags.
    For example:
    <a href="#">
      <div class="bold">Tomboy</div>
      <div class="normal">Overalls</div>
    </a>
    gets converted to
    <div class="bold">
      <a href="#">Tomboy</a>
    </div>
    <div class="normal">
      <a href="#">Overalls</a>
    </div>
Please let us know if anyone has faced similar issues and the fix for the same.
Oracle Endeca 3.1.2 is used for the above example.

Their product is shipped with a Java Bean that you use like any other one. You put the JAR file in your /forms/java folder, add it to the archive and archive_jini tags of your /forms/server/formsweb.cfg file, then you add a Bean Arean to your canvas, filling its Implementation Class with the name of the main Java class.
You have, then methods to set and get the corresponding text in a HTML format.

  • Can I display rich text in a textfield?

I've created a form in LiveCycle Designer and there is a text field that is retrieving data from a table. The data in this field is entered from a ColdFusion form and its using the Rich Text Editor in the form. Because of this, the data that is displaying in the text field of the pdf looks like this:
    <p>This is a comment.</p>
Is there any way for the text field to show the data with the proper formatting?  I've gone in to the field tab of the object and selected Rich Text for the Field Format but it doesn't help.

Ok, I've added a new field which has a bind name called FieldA.
I click on the ConditionFound field  and open the script editor. I choose calculate and enter the following:
    ConditionFound.value.exData.loadXML(FieldA.rawValue,1,1);
    I save the form.
When I open the pdf from the link on my app, the FieldA field displays: <p>This is a test entry.</p> which it gets from the database.
The ConditionFound field is still blank.

  • Using a different Rich Text Editor ?

    Hi,
I'd like to know if you're using a different Rich Text Editor other than the one provided by Oracle ?
Are you satisfied with it ? Especially in the management of images ?
    Thanks
    Max.

    there is a textflow component
    http://blog.flexexamples.com/2009/07/25/exporting-a-textflow-object-in-flex-4/
still exports to font tags unfortunately, but its closer than the richtexteditor. Its basically at the point where you could even write your own small parser and adapt the output to the format you desire.

  • Open xml relationship target is NULL when inserting chart into a mapped rich text content control in Word 2013

    Hi,
I have a word document with a rich text content control that is mapped to a CustomXml. You can download an example here
    http://1drv.ms/1raxoUr
I have looked into the specification ISO/IEC 29500-1:2012 and i understand that the attribute Target for the element Relationship can be set to NULL at times(Empty header and footer in the specification).
Now, i have stumbled on Target being NULL also when inserting a diagram into a word document. For example:
    <Relationship Id="rId3" Type="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/officeDocument/2006/relationships/oleObject"
    Target="NULL" TargetMode="External" xmlns="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/package/2006/relationships" />
Why is Target="NULL" and how should i interpret that Target is null?
    Br,
    /Peter
    Peter

    Hello Peter,
The relationship in question is associated with the externalData element (ISO/IEC 29500-1:2012 §21.2.2.63). For the other two charts in this document, the corresponding relationships are of the other allowable form:
      <Relationship Id="rId3" Type="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/officeDocument/2006/relationships/package" Target="../embeddings/Microsoft_Excel_Worksheet1.xlsx"/>  <Relationship Id="rId3" Type="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/officeDocument/2006/relationships/package" Target="../embeddings/Microsoft_Excel_Worksheet2.xlsx"/>
For charts 1 and 3 in your document, the data can be edited via the Chart Tools ribbon control. The option to edit data is not available for chart 2. The data used to create chart 2 is the same default spreadsheet data used for chart 1, and in fact the spreadsheet
references are still present in the file format, despite there being no apparent link to a spreadsheet for chart 2.
Thus, it appears that Target="NULL" in this context means that the chart is not associated with an external data source. The specification doesn't have much to say about the semantics of the Target attribute (ISO/IEC 29500-2:2012 §9.3.2.2) beyond
the fact that it be a valid xsd:anyURI, which the string "NULL" is.
It looks like there is some unexpected interaction between the chart and the content control. I don't think the file format is the issue. You will probably need to pursue that behavior from the product perspective via a support incident, if that behavior
is unexpected. If you still have questions about what is seen in the file format, please let me know.
    Best regards,

  • Max characters in a Rich Text Editor?

Is there a "hard limit" on the number of characters I can enter into a Rich Text Editor?
My testing suggests that you can only have 4000 characters. If i submit more than 4000 i.e. 4001, I get the following error message:
ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column
The data type I am trying to insert into is of type CLOB (which if memory serves can store upto 4 GIG).
We are using Oracle Application Server (Apache and MOD_PLSQL) so I imaging that there is possible a limit here as well with how much data can be posted.
    Thanks for any help.
    Duncs

    Hi Duncs,
I tried to reproduce your problem on our internal development system but was not able to do so. What did I do?
    1) Created a new table with the following statement
    CREATE TABLE  DEPT_WITH_CLOB
       (     "DEPTNO" NUMBER(2,0),
         "DNAME" VARCHAR2(14),
         "LOC" VARCHAR2(13),
         "MORE_TEXT" CLOB,
          PRIMARY KEY ("DEPTNO") ENABLE
) ;2) Created a new application with a "Report and Form" based on the DEPT_WITH_CLOB table.
    3) Modified P2_MORE_TEXT to use Rich Text Editor as item type.
    4) Executed the page and entered a text which was more than 18,000 char long
    5) Clicked apply changes and everything was stored without a problem.
Can you provide more information about your system?
    1) APEX version
    2) Database Version
    3) Do you use database links in your apps or do other applications use database links?
    4) If yes, which database version are those databases?
    5) If you are able to reproduce the problem on apex.oracle.com that would also be of great help.
    Thanks

  • Rich Text editor in Webdynpro

    Hi,
With the new FormattedTextView in 2004s one will be able to render xhtml compliant rich test in Webdynpro.
This however only covers the rednering of rich text.
There still does not seem to be a rich text editor control available for webdynpro applications, which I think might be a common requirement for document centric applications.
    I was wondering :
1 - will there be a richt text editor control available for WDP in the forseeable future ?
2 - if not, are there any workardounds available to allow for the generation of rich text ?

    Hi Valery,
Well, I already thought of that kind of solution, but I do not consider it a very clean solution. I know WDP supports portal eventing. On the other side of such a scenario you could even do without a 3rd party wysiwyg editor, cause SAP does offer an html editor control in its set of HTMLB controls.
We intend to use WDP as a UI layer on top of SAPs KM. Our scenario involves template based publishing of structured documents (we first looked at xml forms, but they showed too many limitations). The idea is to model the document structure and content at runtime as WDP context structures (based on xml schemas) and then to serialize WDP context into XML content and metadata, with KM acting as business and persistence layer. Markup and insertion of images into the different text parts of the document however has become an additional requirement, which is why we are looking for a ways to fit that in our current design.
You could indeed think of some kind of data exchange between a regular portal component and the wdp application, but I am not too confident whether that is going to be a reliable solution.
PS : for the serialization of WDP context, your post in a different thread on this forum helped me a lot in my first attempts to create KM documents from data wdp runtime data (context). The link provided to the online book and your little example was very welcome. Thanks for that !

  • Document management system using oracle text

i plan to create document management system using oracle text with following features
    1) document comparision
    2) document search
    and more...
can oracle text be used to display documents of various formats by converting them to HTML. and can search keywords be highlighted in the document.
    please help!

Have you ever considered doing this in Oracle Application Express (free on top of the Oracle database)? How about something like:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31036_01/doc/appdev.22/b28839/up_dn_files.htm
Index the files using the CONTEXT index, and perhaps the docs' meta with it using the Oracle Text MULTI_COLUMN_DATASTORE, and then when you write your query for a report on the documents include a search string.
I've created a number of APEX-based document management systems and it is quite easy once you get the hang of using this environment. I suggest looking at some of the tutorials/how-to documents and you'll be on your way quickly.
Start with the upload application. Once you can get your documents in, create a report that shows everything except the document. Verify all of this works correctly.
Add some "items" to the page for the report, and include them as bind variables in the where clause.
After that, add your Oracle Text index to the database, and toss in a "text-field" item to the APEX page. Modify your report query, adding the CONTAINS clause, and use the newly created item as a bind variable. There's your keyword search.
Linking to Oracle Apps is done through API's and may be over database links.
Hope it helps. Though not a step-by-step how to document, this should point you in the right direction. Get familiar with APEX as that covers most of what you described.

  • Can I add a link into a text box with in-browser editing

Is it possible to set up a text box with some text and subsequently change the text to include a hyperlink with in-browser editing with a site hosted on a third party server?
    Thanks/Richard

    Hi Richard,
You can add the the link to the text using the Hyperlink manager at the top. You can link it with any internal or external URL.

  • Making Rich Text Editor with PHP in Dreamweaver  - Problem with CKEditor...

    Hi,
I am developing a website in Dreamweaver and using the platform of PHP and MYSQL. I need to develop a Rich Text Editor just like the one I am typing at the moment. With my recent searches I have come across with CKEditor as one of the possibilities to add a Rich Text Editor to my website. I have seen older versions of CKEditor also known as FCKEditor which I believe unfortunatley is out of date and obsolete now (discontinued). I cannot find any of the downloads now from anywhere on the web.
I can find FCKEditor tutorials with PHP,  but can not find CKEditor tutorials for PHP (when I try googling it, it always gives me FCKEditor page). Can anyone please help me and tell me if I can still make Rich Text Editor using CKEditor and PHP?
If yes, please guide me how? Any tutorials or reading material will be very helpful.
    Regards,
    Bilal . Khan

Yes, you absolutely can use CKEditor to create a rich text editor with PHP/MySQL.I have tried several editors and it's my choice.
Here is a link to the documentation page:
    http://docs.cksource.com/
CKFinder is also very good in conjunction with CKEditor. Although it costs $59/per website, it's better than the free alternatives.
