Managing Wire Spools as a different SU in a pallet while putaway

Hi All,
We are implementing SAP WM for one of our customer and we are facing difficulty in mapping the below business scenario in SAP. The scenario is.
1. Putaway for GR:
                  When they receive wires/cables of a same material in multiple spools with different or same length from the vendor they consolidate all the spools in a GR area and placed in a standard pallet to putaway to the IM location.
Example: 48 Spools (Each 1000 feet) placed in a Standard pallet (48u201D height)
Question u2013 how do we define a palletization data on this scenario and create a 48 different SU labels for each spools (Because we are considering each spool is a separate Storage unit). We have defined a separate Storage type for handling the wires and cables and this is not bulk storage.
The reason we are creating a separate SUu2019s because they do partial picking and based on the requirement we are matching the exact fit or best fit strategy to pick the right SU.
Thanks in advance.
- Praveen

Hi,
How do you want to do with these spools at the end ?
If you want to sort out these spools and datas containing in these spools to make a single .xls or .pdf, i have a solution.
However if you want to merge these spools in a single spool staying in SAP i couldn't help you.
So if i can help you, please to inform me what do you want to do exactly.

  • Managing multiple iOS devices on different Apple accounts from the same iMac

    May be a very simple question to answer, but can I manage multiple iOS devices on different Apple accounts from the same iMac?
    I ask as whilst I'm totally Mac'd, my partner who has her own Apple account has a Winows laptop and experiences problems updating iOS software on her iPhone 4S and iPad 3 Gen via the laptop. I'm thinking the problems may be overcome if we manage her iOS devices through my iMac.

    Thanks dwb .... I thought there'd be a catch .... not to keen on all that media and apps on my iMac!
    The specific problem is that whenever she updates to the latsest version of iOS using the latest iTunes for Windows on her PC laptop she seems to lose something in the process. One time she lost all her texts and the other day when updating to 5.1.1 she lost all her reminders. Not the end of the world but frustrating and shouldn't really happen and doesn't happen to me using the iMac and OSX.

    Hi,
    thanks for  reply. Yup we can do that if there are many costumers. then it will be a hectic job to retrieve for all of them and sending mail. so is ther any possible way to generate spool in a breakup way..

  • Problem with Managed Server pointing to a different JDK

    Hi,
    My Adminserver is pointing to JDK 1.7 which is shown in the startup, but my managed servers are pointing to a different 1.6_43 . We are running into Java version mismatch problem while deploying our application built with jdk 1.7 onto these managed servers . How do i change the version of my managed server ?
    Thanks
    Sam

    Hi Sam,
    You generally only have to change it in two places.
    DOMAIN_HOME/bin/setDomainEnv.sh and MW_HOME/wlserver_12.1/common/bin/commEnv.sh
    See examples below.
    If you are on Linux you can quickly fix it. For example:
    cd /u01/app/oracle/product/fmw
    find . -type f -exec sed -i "s/\/u01\/app\/oracle\/product\/jdk1.6.0_39/\/u01\/app\/oracle\/product\/java_current/g" {} \;
    It is a good idea to make a softlink to your Java installation, then you will not have this problem in the future. If you are on Windows you can use a symlink.
    Linux example:
    ln -s /u01/app/oracle/product/jdk1.7.0_25 /u01/app/oracle/product/java_current
    Windows example:
    mklink /d D:\oracle\product\java_current D:\oracle\product\jrockit-jdk1.6.0_26-R28.1.4-4.0.1
    setDomainEnv.sh
    /u01/app/oracle/domains/eksudv/bin/setDomainEnv.sh
    if [ "${JAVA_VENDOR}" = "Oracle" ] ; then
            JAVA_HOME="${BEA_JAVA_HOME}"
            export JAVA_HOME
    else
            if [ "${JAVA_VENDOR}" = "Sun" ] ; then
                    JAVA_HOME="${SUN_JAVA_HOME}"
                    export JAVA_HOME
            else
                    JAVA_VENDOR="Sun"
                    export JAVA_VENDOR
                    JAVA_HOME="/u01/app/oracle/product/java_current"
                    export JAVA_HOME
            fi
    fi
    commEnv.sh
    /u01/app/oracle/product/fmw/wlserver_12.1/common/bin/commEnv.sh
    # Reset JAVA_HOME, JAVA_VENDOR and PRODUCTION_MODE unless JAVA_HOME
    # and JAVA_VENDOR are pre-defined.
    if [ -z "${JAVA_HOME}" -o -z "${JAVA_VENDOR}" ]; then
      # Set up JAVA HOME
      JAVA_HOME="/u01/app/oracle/product/java_current"

  • Confused about Color Management in CS5 (Photos appearing differently in all other programs)

    I recently noticed this and it's been driving me crazy; when I view photos in Photoshop CS5 they appear significantly lighter/more washed out than when viewed in other programs like Zoombrowser, Digital Photo Professional or just in a regular Windows folder using Filmstrip mode (Windows XP).  When opening the same photo in both CS5 and Zoombrowser and switching back and forth between the two windows the difference is very apparent...for example, one of the photos I compared was of a person in a black shirt -- in CS5 (lighter/washed out) the folds in the shirt were very obvious, but in Zoombrowser (darker, more contrast/saturation) the folds were nearly invisible and it looked like just solid black.  Now, after messing around with the settings in both Photoshop and in Zoombrowser I've found a few ways to get the photos to look the same in the two programs; one way gives them both the lighter/more washed out appearance and another way gives them both the darker appearance with more contrast and saturation.  My problem is that I'm not sure which view is accurate.
    I use a NEC MultiSync LCD1990SXi monitor with SpectraView II calibration software and calibrate it every 2 weeks using these calibration settings (screenshot): http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/8826/settingsx.jpg
    In the SpectraView II Software under Preferences there's an option that says "Set as Windows Color Management System Monitor Profile - Automatically selects and associates the generated ICC monitor profile with the Color Management System (CMS)."  This option is checked.  Also, when I open the Windows' Color Management window there's only one option displayed, which is "LCD1990SXi #######" (the ####### represents my monitor's serial number).
    I assume the above settings are all correct so far, but I'm not sure about the rest.
    Here are my current default Color Settings in CS5 (screenshot): http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/666/photoshopcolorsettings.jpg
    Changing these settings around doesn't seem to make the photo appear much different.  However, when I go to Edit -> Assign Profile, then click off of "Working RGB: sRGB IEC61966-2.1" and instead click Profile and select "LCD1990SXi ####### 2011-06-21 18-30 D65 2.20" from the drop-down menu, the picture becomes darker with more contrast and saturation and matches the picture in Zoombrowser.  Also, if I select "Adobe RGB (1998)" from the drop-down menu it's very similar in terms of increased darkness and contrast but the saturation is higher than with the LCD1990SXi setting.  Another way I've found to make the image equally dark with increased contrast and saturation is to go to View -> Proof Setup -> Custom and then click the drop-down menu next to "Device to Simulate" and select "LCD1990SXi ####### 2011-06-21 18-30 D65 2.20" again.
    Alternatively, to make both images equally light and washed out I can go to Zoombrowser -> Tools -> Preferences and check the box next to "Color Management: Adjust colors of images using monitor profile."  This makes the image in Zoombrowser appear just like it does in CS5 by default.
    Like I said, I'm confused as to which setting is the accurate one (I'm new to Color Management in general so I apologize for my ignorance on the subject).
    It would seem that assigning the LCD1990SXi profile in CS5 would be the correct choice in order to match the monitor calibration given the name of the profile but the "Adjust colors of images using monitor profile" option in Zoombrowser sounds like it would do the same thing as well.  Also, I've read that Photoshop is a color managed software whereas Zoombrowser and Windows Picture and Fax Viewer are not which makes me think that maybe the lighter/washed out version seen in Photoshop is correct.  So which version (light or dark) is the accurate one that I should use to view and edit my photos?  Thanks in advance for any help or info.

    Sorry for the late reply;
    But before we go there or make any assumptions, it's important for
    you to determine whether you're seeing consistent color in your
    color-managed applications and only inconsistent color in those that are
    not color-managed.  For that you'll need to do a little research to see
    if the applications in which you're seeing darker colors have
    color-management capability (and whether it is enabled).
    I opened the same picture in 7 different applications and found that the 6 of the 7 displayed the photo equally dark with equally high contrast when compared to the 7th application (CS5).  The other 6 applications were Zoombrowser EX, Digital Photo Professional, Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, Quicktime PictureViewer, Microsoft Office Picture Manager and Firefox.
    However, at least two of these programs offer color management preferences and, when used, display the photo (from what I can tell) exactly the same as Photoshop CS5's default settings.  The two programs are two Canon programs: Zoombrowser EX and Digital Photo Professional.  Here's the setting that needs to be selected in Zoombrowser in order to match up with CS5 (circled in red):
    And here's the setting in Digital Photo Professional that needs to be selected in order to match up with CS5 (again, circled in red):
    *Note: When the option above "Monitor Profile" is selected ("Use the OS settings") the image is displayed exactly the same as when the monitor profile is selected.  It's only when sRGB is selected that it goes back to the default darker, more contrasty version.
    So with the red-circled options selected, all three programs (CS5, ZB, DPP) display the images the same way; lighter and more washed out.  What I'm still having trouble understanding is if that ligher, more washed out display is the accurate one or not...I've read several tutorials for all three programs which only make things more confusing.  One of the tutorials says to always use sRGB if you want accurate results and *never* to use Monitor Profile and another says that, if you're using a calibrated monitor, you should always select Monitor Profile under the color management settings...so I'm still lost, unfortunately.
    What I also don't understand is why, when the monitor profile is selected in CS5, the image is displayed in the dark and contrasty way that the other programs display it as by default but when the monitor profile is selected in Digitial Photo Professional it displays it in the lighter, more washed out way that CS5 displays it using CS5's default settings (sRGB).  Why would selecting the monitor profile in DPP display the photo the same way as when sRGB is selected in Photoshop?  And vice versa...why would selecting the monitor profile in Photoshop display the photo the same way as when sRGB is selected in DPP?
    I feel like I'm missing something obvious here...which I probably am.  Again, I'm very new to this stuff so pardon my ignorance on the topic.
    By the way, I find that the way that the non-color managed programs (Windows Picture and Fax Viewer et al.) display the photos is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye than the duller, more washed out display that CS5 gives the photos, but ultimately what I want to see in these programs (especially PS5 where I'll be doing the editing) is the accurate representation of the actual photo itself...i.e. what it's supposed to look like and not a darker (or lighter) variant of it.
    So just to reiterate my questions:
    Why does selecting Monitor Profile under the color management settings in DPP give the same display results as the default sRGB profile in CS5 and vice versa?  (CS5 with monitor profile selected having the same display results as DPP with the sRGB profile selected)
    When using CS5 with it's default color management settings (sRGB), using DPP with the Monitor Profile selected, and using Zoombrowser EX with "Adjust color of images using monitor profile" selected this results in all three programs displaying the same lighter, washed-out images...is this lighter, more washed-out display of the images shown in these three programs the accurate one?
    I noticed when opening an image in Firefox it had the same darker, contrasty look as the other non-color managed applications had.  Assuming that the CS5 default settings are accurate, does this mean that if I edit a photo in CS5, save it, and upload it to the internet that other people who are viewing that image online will see it differently than how it's supposed to look (i.e. in a non-color-managed way?)  If so, this would seem to indicate that they'd see a less-than-flattering version of the photo since if their browser naturally displays images as darker and more contrasty and I added more darkness and contrast to the image in CS5, they'd be seeing a version of the photo that's far too dark and probably wouldn't look very good.  Is this something I have to worry about as well?
    I apologize for the lengthy post; I do tend to be a bit OCD about these things...it's a habit I picked up once I realized I'd been improperly editing photos on an  incorrectly calibrated monitor for years and all that time and effort had been spent editing photos in a certain way that looked good on my incorrectly calibrated monitor but looked like crap on everyone else's screen, so the length and detail of this post comes from a desire to not repeat similar mistakes by editing photos the wrong way all over again.  Again, thanks in advance for all the help, it's greatly appreciated!

  • Best way to manage multiple iTunes accounts (from different countries)

    Ok, wasn't sure if this was the best community to ask this question, but here goes.
    My wife and I have two iTunes accounts, one originally from the United States, the other originally from Australia. Over the years content has been purchased using both accounts.
    We currently reside in Australia and primarily view our content on Apple TV. So far we’ve had no problems logging into either account and accessing all our content.
    Now, I have a fear (perhaps an irrational one) that if we choose to permanently reside in one country (Australia, the US, somewhere else) that at some point Apple may cancel/restrict one of these accounts. Since there is no way for me to merge all our purchased digital content into the one digital library, we’re now wondering the best way to manage this?
    I see there is a new "family sharing" feature soon to be launched, so that may be half the solution (assuming it will work with family members in different continents). If so, the other half of the question is, will we be able to still purchase content on both accounts? While in Australia since April we have rented movies on both accounts, but have only purchased movies etc on the Australian account (we can still do this on the US account, but we haven't risked it in case it gets cancelled because Apple decides we're no longer in the US - in other words, we don't want to spend $$$ on movies we may not be able to access in future).
    What do others think? What is the best way for us to manage our scenario? Or am I worried about nothing and we can continue purchasing content on either account without fear of “losing” it later?
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I did try and ring Apple, but the guy refused to give me advice until I provided my details and I did't want to do that at this stage.
    Thanks everyone for your help!
    MM

    You may lose the ability to purchase content from the USA, but any content you've already bought will remain accessible. Back everything up.

  • Is it possible to deploy 2 SCOM 2012 R2 reporting in a SQL server which already has SCOM reporting of a different management group but with 2 different reporting instance.

    Hi Experts,
    I have a typical situation in the LAB environment. Hope some one helps. I have Installed a SCOM 2012 R2 with SQL 2012 SP1 in a single server (Management group 1). I have installed another management group on another server using this SQL server for its database
    so i have everything going fine.
    The first management group has its reporting installed in the SQL server. For the second i created a new named instance for that. But i cannot run the SCOM setup in the SQL server (Also holding the Management group 1 MS) as 1 st reporting is already there.
    When i run the setup it is asking me to repair it. I don't get the install option so i can install the reporting for management group 2 in the named instance.
    Default instance is being used by the 1st management group.
    Can any one figure a possibility for installing 2 SCOM reporting services for different management groups in a same SQL 2012 server please.
    Gautam.75801

    Hi Yan Li,
    Thank you for the reply. So as you are aware If i need to instal reporting, i need to run the SCOM 2012 R2 setup in the SQL server and select reporting and select the
    instance and then mention the management server there right. I am not getting that option there it is asking me to remove or repair the existing installation as there is already a SCOM entire setup including reporting there. As it is a lab there is no problem
    in testing. I have 2 reporting instances. Any suggestions for me on how to overcome this issue and deploy the second reporting in the new named instance ?
    Below is the screenshot of the error what i am talking about when i run SCOM 2012 R2 setup to install reporting in the SQL server
    When i click on add feature reporting is greyed out (As already 1st management groups reporting is installed)
    When i click on remove or repair it
    uninstalls the existing one. But i want both SCOM 2012 r2 reporting to be there(For both Management group). Is it possible ? If yes What is the trick to run the setup ?

  • Managing DCs in NWDI for different releases in same Client Project

    Hi all,
    We are working for a client and as part of the first phase of the project, we have developed Portal applications for one geography of the world. Currently maintenance and support for this phase 1 is going on. At the same time, phase 2 of the project has started for a different geography of the world. For this phase, the same Portal applications are going to be used along with enhancements.
    My query is how should we manage these DCs at the same time for:
    1) doing enhancements as part of Phase 1 support work; and
    2) enhancements for Phase 2 new requirements
    We cannot put hold on the Phase 1 support enhancements till the Phase 2 goes live. I understand that we would have to create a copy of the current DCs for development in Phase 2. So my first question is can the DCs from one track be copied (exactly) to another track in NWDI? If yes, how?
    Once we have done this, we are still confused about how to merge these two parallel developments going on when the right time comes (i.e. Go Live for Phase 2). Please advise on this as well.
    Thanks in advance.

  • SQL Server Management Studio and Native Client different behaviour on delete

    I have a problem with transaction containing insert and delete to same table and some select/insert/update to some other tables. Problematic table has primary key defined as combination of column1 and column2.
    When two different instances using Native Client execute simultaneously this code and make inserts to table then delete part of code causes deadlock. However this doesn't happen when trying this situation in MS SQL Server Management Studio query.
    Is there some option that is missing from Native Client connection string which can cause this different behaviour?

    Hello,
    I don't think there is a difference in the behavior. SSMS uses ADO.NET and that Provider base on the Native Client.
    The difference will be more that way, when the transaction is commited and so the locks released. I guess your application keeps the transaction (much) longer open; you should commit a transaction as soon as possible to avoid long time locks and so
    deadlocks.

  • Has anyone put the RAR Background Job Spool on a different server?

    We are on GRC 5.3 SP 13.
    Has anyone put the RAR Background Job Spool File Location (assigned in the Miscellaneous configuration section) on a server different than the one that the GRC Frontend/Java system is on?
    I currently have it assigned to a folder on the GRC server, but it is running out of space.  I am having a problem getting the users to delete old reports as they say they need to keep them for internal Audit controls.  They are also resisting downloading the reports (more work for them).  I have been told that we cannot easily increase the file space on the GRC server (would basically have to purchase more storage and rebuild the server).
    I was thinking about moving the folder over to our virtual storage area, were file size can be more easily expanded.  I haven't found any documentation that says the folder has to be on the GRC server, but I also haven't seen any examples of where it has been put on a different server.
    Has anyone done this, and did you run into any problems?
    Thanks.

    Hello Bob,
    I got your point. Probably there's no recommendation about this, because the recomended practise is to delete or archive the spools as suggested in note : Note 1511027 - Periodic clean up of spool files
    If you have a requirement to keep these files "online", I think the option to save them to a network drive is fine. I haven't tried it for this specific scenario. You have to take into account:
    - Specific user to connect to FileServer
    - Availability of the FileServer. If the FS is down, the RAR job will cancel.
    - Performance. I mean, write to a local disk is not the same to write to a network drive. This point is very difficult to measure,   because it depends on a lot of things like network speed, server load, etc.
    Maybe someone has already implemented it and gives you more hints.
    Cheers,
    Diego.

  • Container Managed Security on Tomcat - configuring different auth-methods

    I am trying to configure the container managed security on tomcat4. Or rather I am trying to add a further dimension to the configuration that already exists.
    At the moment the entire application uses LDAP authentication and I would like to separate an area that requires further authentication. That is to say I would like everyone using the web application to authenticate using the existing Form-Based LDAP authentication but I would like only certain users to be able to use the data upload facility (whose code is stored in it's own directory).
    This is the authentication bit of my web.xml:
      <security-constraint>
        <web-resource-collection>
          <web-resource-name>qmrae</web-resource-name>
          <url-pattern>*.do</url-pattern>
          <url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
        </web-resource-collection>
        <auth-constraint>
          <role-name>*</role-name>
        </auth-constraint>
      </security-constraint>
      <login-config>
        <auth-method>FORM</auth-method>
        <realm-name>Form-Based Authentication Area</realm-name>
        <form-login-config>
          <form-login-page>/login.jsp</form-login-page>
          <form-error-page>/loginError.jsp</form-error-page>
        </form-login-config>
      </login-config>My first hurdle is in understanding exactly how the application knows where to go for its authentication.
    I had guessed that the realm-name would map "areas" of my application to realm configuration defined in my application's context area in Tomcat's web.xml but this doesnt seem to be the case. In fact I have read conflicting explanations as to what the realm-name is for. One source has said that this is only used for BASIC authentication as a way of naming the resulting pop up window - many others say it maps the login-config to the web-resource-name. However the latter doesnt make sense because the authentication works in my application at the moment even though those values are completely different (and indeed are different in most of the examples i've read on the web). Furthermore I can find any other mention of the defined realm-name in any other file (which of course be because i'm looking in the wrong place).
    I was prepared to accept that the realm-name might not actually do anything and so I've been looking for examples of defining a different auth-method for different url-patterns but i've had no luck.
    I know a user can have one or more roles but I dont have access to the LDAP server to set these up and haven't found anything about defining different auth-methods other than one thread in this forum suggesting that is wasnt possible on AIS.
    This thread suggests that you can have more than one security-constraint but again i'm not sure about the auth methods and how you map an auth method to a security-constraint
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=33&threadID=320918
    To summarise my questions:
    1) What are the functions of the realm-name and web-resource-name? Are they related?
    2) Is it possible to configure different areas of an application to use different authentication methods? and if so, could you point me in the direction of relevant documentation
    3) If (2) is not possible and I have to assign a new role to the privileged LDAP users, is it enough to define a new security-constraint? Could you describe the behaviour I could expect for users that have authenticated once and try to access this super-security area, will they be shown another login form or will it just let them in because the container is already aware of their permissions.
    Many thanks for your attention,
    Rachel

    If you create your own Realm classes - look at JAAS - you can sort out your last login time, just wrap them around the DataSourceRealm.
    As far as 'remind' him is concerned - I'm guessing you mean provider a reminder for the password based on the user name. If you use form based authentication you can put what ever you like on the page.

  • Retrofit in SAP Solution Manager 7.1 Supported Across Different OS's?

    Is Solution Manager 7.1 Retrofit Capability supported with a different enhancement pack level and across different Operating Systems (HP-UX & AIX)?
    The specific scenario would be setup of a dual landscape where traditional Dev -> QAS-> PRD is on HP UX 11.31. Then we would create a parallel 'Upgrade Project" landscape on IBM AIX 7.1 uDEV -> uQA (on AIX), perform an enhancement pack upgrade on uDeV and uQA and use Solution Manager Retrofit Capability to synchronize transports between the two landscapes.

  • Setup Central Contract Management SRM 7.01 with differing release versions

    Hello experts,
    OSS note 1268821 explains how to configure the central contract management between a SRM 7.0 and  an ERP 6.04. So far so good, but how should it be handled if there are differing release versions such as ERP 6.04 and ERP 6.03? I guess that a technical split (xml services/ ALE distribution) is necessary?
    Assuming that there are some backends with differing release versions and in some cases with differing master data (not supported by central master data client) would you always go via PI? Independent of release version, technology and master data.
    Could you give some further detailed informations how to configure such a scenario? What has to be done to transfer existing contracts from an ERP 6.04 into SRM CM component (migration concept)?
    Thanks!!!
    KR Thorsten

    Hi Thorsten
    The minimal ECC version is 6.0 EHP4, Central Contracts require certain business functions in ECC to be activated and as these are included within ECC EHP4 you won't have these available in lower version. Therefore you won't be able to operate central contracts in such an ECC system.
    You would either have to go with patching these systems or go with GOA's for these systems.
    Operating central contracts via PI or SOA i believe provide almost similar functionality. SOA however requires an SRM EHP1 system and ECC EHP5 back-end to operate whilst central contracts configured via PI can be operated onwards from an SRM 7.0 and EHP4 system.
    I can't help you on your migration issue, maybe someone else can.
    Kind regards,
    Tim

  • Integrating BI Publisher 11.1.1.5 with Enterprise Manager 12.1.0.1 - Different host

    BI Publisher 11.1.1.5 is installed in Host A and Enterprise Manager 12.1.0.1 is installed in Host B.
    All the samples and steps given in the oracle doc explains how to integrate them if they are in the same host.
    ./configureBIP
    But how to integrate them if they are on different hosts?

    Hi Anandh,
    Bi publisher cannot be integrated with EM 12c is its running on a different host
    Below are the scenarios
    For Standalone OMS setup
    BI Publisher can only be installed only on the 12c OMS host in case of standalone OMS setup
    For multi oms setup
    BI Publisher can only be installed only on the Primary OMS in a Multi-OMS setup.
