Manufacturing of bikes of various colours

Hello PP Experts,
We have a scenario of planning of bikes of various colors like Red, black, blue etc.
Please let me know how this scenario can be mapped to SAP.
Is the use of variant configuration will be right choice?
If yes, please let me know what way we can use variant configuration for this scenario.
Please elaborate with Transaction codes as this is a new topic for me.
Regards,
Mona Tiwari

Hi,
  Variant configuration is the right choice.
ie you need to define the characteristic and assign the values .
This characteristic need to assigned to class.
class need to be assigned to material master
  Following is the steps for understanding the basics behind Variant configuration.
Eg: Ford car.If a sale order is raised for fiest lxi model the system should choose red colour & for vxi should choose blue colour.
1. T.code : CT04 ,FORD_MODEL, Choose single value & entry required tab & give the input as 01 - fiesta_lxi & 02 - fiesta_vxi.
2.Tcode: CT04, FORD_BODY
Choose single value , don't click entry required.
01 - Red
02- Blue
3. Create class T.code : CL02
fiest_class
type : 300
Choose characteristic tab & add FORD_MODEL&FORD_BODY
4. OBJECT DEPENDENCY:
T.CODE : CT04
FORD_MODEL
CLICK VALUES TAB,
IN FIESTA_LXI CLICK THE 'O' meant for Obj dependency, action & extra.
Edit the dependecy,
010 $Self.ford_body = '01'. & save
Repeat the same for FIEST_VXI & instead of '01' give '02' for blue colour.
, then create a ROH as ford_body. & a KMAT material for the car. .
Then create a Super BOM with usage 3 & give component as ford_body
Then use T.code cu41 (Create config profile)
enter a profile name & class 300 & choose class assignment, choose fiest_class ,
Use T.code cu50 to check the values.
Then create a sale order.
Pl. reward if helpful.

  • Macbook Pro screen turns various colours

    Hi,
    I have a macbook pro mid 2012. It was working okay until some days ago that I noticed that, at any moment, the screen turns various colours. I attach a screenshot so you can see what happens.
    Any idea about this behaviour?
    Thanks!

    The Project Info shows Bar Charts in three colours, namely green, yellow and red.
    I guess the green and red are selfexplanatory, but what meaning is attached to the colour yellow?

  • Help With Colouring In Book For Children.

    Hello. I am part of a group of volunteers that give up their time in order to support disabled children. The local centre were we volunteer has recently received a donation of computers specially designed for the children. The team and I were thinking of suitable activities that could be done on the computer.
    We came up with the idea of having an interactive colouring book were the children are able to choose between various colours and basically customise different characters and items.
    We have a trip to Disney Land Paris coming up in February and have decided to try and use this as a theme for some of the activities.
    The idea that we have came up with is an interactive Disney Colouring Book.
    Now I am no wizard on computer but have been doing my best to create this using flash. (This is because if we create it ourselves we will be able to change it so suit are needs)
    So far we’ve been able to get a background etc done for the colouring book with speaking Disney characters but I am having great difficulty making the actually colouring of the Disney characters.
    I was wondering if anyone here would be able to help?
    I’ve tried using numerous guides but it doesn’t seem to work out for me.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Below is a link to a picture of Mickey Mouse incase anyone needs it.
    The goal will be to make a number of the charters in the book but if we are able to obtain one finished one we should be able to use it as an example and create our own.
    http://sandboxworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/mickey_mouse.jpg
    The idea is to have all the parts of his clothing interactive along with his nose.
    Thanks in advance..

    Here is a quick and dirty example of how to use floodFill() for your task. I don't have a place to post fla, so follow the instructions:
    1. Save this image on your hard drive:
    http://flashascript.files.wordpress.com/2010/11/mickey_mouse.png - it is done in a such way that back color is 0x000000 - code relies on this
    2. Import image to Flash library
    3. In the library - right click on image --> linkage --> check export for Action Script --> give class name mickey_mouse (make sure that Base class is flash.display.BitmapData). CODE RELIES ON CLASS NAME mickey_mouse!!!
    4. Paste the following code on timeline --> compile --> start colorizing by clicking on color chip and then on the image. Note that only OTHER THAN BLACK areas of image accept new colors.
    Read comments
    stop();
    import flash.display.Bitmap;
    import flash.display.BitmapData;
    import flash.display.MovieClip;
    import flash.display.Sprite;
    import flash.events.MouseEvent;
    import flash.ui.Mouse;
    // bitmap data from library
    var imageBitmapData:BitmapData = new mickey_mouse(0, 0);
    // image made of bitmap data
    var image:Bitmap = new Bitmap(imageBitmapData);
    // image container - need it for being interactive
    var imageContainer:Sprite = new Sprite();
    imageContainer.addChild(image);
    imageContainer.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onImageClick);
    imageContainer.x = 100;
    imageContainer.y = 20;
    addChild(imageContainer);
    // palette container
    var palette:Sprite = new Sprite();
    // chosen color
    var currentColor:uint = 0;
    makePalette();
    // populates palette with chips that have colors from colors Array
    function makePalette():void {
         var colors:Array = [0xFF0000, 0xFFFF00, 0xFF8000, 0x008000, 0x0000FF, 0x800080, 0x808000, 0x808080, 0x0F0F0F];
         var chip:MovieClip;
         for (var i:int = 0; i < colors.length; i++) {
              chip = makeChip(colors[i]);
              chip.y = (chip.height + 2) * i;
              palette.addChild(chip);
              chip.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, chooseColor);
         addChild(palette);
         palette.x = 10;
         palette.y = 20;
    // colorizes OTHER than black areas with chosen color
    function onImageClick(e:MouseEvent):void {
         // if selected area is not black - change color
         if (imageBitmapData.getPixel(e.localX, e.localY) > 0) {
              imageBitmapData.floodFill(e.localX, e.localY, currentColor);
    function chooseColor(e:MouseEvent):void
         // set current color to clip's color property
         currentColor = MovieClip(e.target).color;
    function makeChip(color:uint):MovieClip {
         var mc:MovieClip = new MovieClip();
         mc.graphics.beginFill(color);
         mc.graphics.drawRect(0, 0, 30, 30);
         mc.graphics.endFill();
         // movie clip hold the color
         mc.color = color;
         return mc;
    Again, if you choose this approach - you will need to prepare images so that they have one color (in this case black) that is unambiguous and is excluded from color choices.

  • How can i print calender in colours instead of black and white

    I use various colours for my calenders put when I print them out they all appear as black and white.
    Can any one help me or can it be done.

    Can you do a screenshot and print that?

  • Problem Monitor and print different colours

    As a newbie to colour management and my monitor showing one shade? of colour and the print another, I have bought Spyder express 2 suite to try and bring to two together I am using photoshop 7 and XP.
    My printers are an Epson R200 & R2400
    In the color settings window in photoshop currently are a custom setup working spaces spaces RGB 1998; euroscale coated; gray gamma 2.2 and dot gain 20%
    Color management all set to preserve embedded profiles
    Are these settings an acceptable starting point or are their better settings
    Sorry if this question is to basic but I would like to reach the bottom rung on the ladder to what you see is what you get
    Thanks in advance
    DaveH

    What print settings are you using?
    Set the Espon to 'let photoshop manage colour ' and scroll the printer profile down to either stylus photo R200 or stylus photo R2400 . This give better results when using canned profiles.
    I have custom printer profiles for my 3800 and the colours are now spot on when they previously had a nasty magenta bias.
    If that fails - try ' let printer manage colours ' and do a test print with various colour changes within the driver.

  • Advanced colour management

    (nice beta)
    I can see that my copy of Safari reads and uses embedded iccc profiles in images: that's no news and I can confirm it works fine.
    But what it doesn't seem to do is to use the assigned output device profile to display web content. That's odd.. maybe I've not set something up correctly... let me explain....
    My monitor's calibrated to be as close to sRGB as it can be set. The calibration's stored in the nVidia look up table (LUT). It's close to sRGB, but it's not bang-on. Fortunately the colorimeter people (ColorVision) know you can never get things precisely correct, and so when you calibrate your monitor they provide you with a "monitor profile". That's assigned to the monitor via the Operating system. On a PC the profile's not used by the OS: it's there to be read by applications.
    So if I run PS/CS3 and look at images with various colour profiles, they all look as you'd expect. That's because CS3 both reads the embedded profiles, and also it reads the monitor profile from the OS, and munges the output accordingly. My colours are fine in PS/CS3.
    Finally I get to the question...
    When I run Safari, is it* intended* to read the monitor profile and make use of it?
    I kind of expected it to, as there's limited utility in parsing embedded profiles if you don't render the output correctly. It would actually be more useful to deal with the monitor profile than to read embedded profiles. If it should do this, then this is a defect. If it shouldn't, then I'll worry about something else.
    To be clear, I'm talking about minor differences which 99% of people probably can't see.
    Lisa   Windows Vista

    What will confirm that Safari is actually working correctly is by looking at the three tagged files in the top-center column -- these should look the same (except for the drop shadow in one of the files).
    Yes, they do look the same, i.e. Safari recognizes the profiles and converts them to the same color space. However, that is no proof that this space is the monitor color space.
    All this means Safari may still be reading the profile and converting to sRGB, as you seem to be suggesting, but I doubt it because that's not the way color managed applications work. How have you came to believe this?
    As you also said, many monitors are 'close' to sRGB, so it is not always easy to distinguish between monitor RGB and sRGB. To avoid this, I have temporarily calibrated to a gamma of 1.0 (1.8 works as well, but 1.0 is even more obvious). This extreme gamma adjustment is done through the video LUT, so it applies to all programs, color managed or not. Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom respond by compensating accordingly, so that the output appears correct after all. Safari doesn't, so we can conclude that Safari does not (fully/correctly) take the monitor profile into account.
    So, given that my choice of profile does not seem to affect Safari's display, the next logical option is that some 'standard' target space is used. sRGB seems the most likely candidate. I have just verified that sRGB is indeed used, by comparing a Safari screenshot (the data that gets sent to the display) with the sRGB source image on your page. They are identical.
    Still, testing sRGB is the trickiest space to look at because it is designed to mimic our monitor...though if other Windows users could confirm there is no noticable difference between the tagged/untagged sRGB files, I could become a believer that Windows assumes-assigns-applies sRGB to untagged files.
    No, I don't think this is Windows' doing, as Safari is the only program showing such (broken) behavior. Also, note that it happens to tagged and untagged files. I think it's a Safari CM bug.

  • Border colours

    I have a table that has one row along the top - but
    underneath the banner (the banner isn't included in the table),
    with the nav bar in it and one row along the bottom with the
    copyright line in it.
    Between the two lines there are two columns.
    I started off making a table, fixing the borders at 0, but
    got spaces between all the cells.
    So I then made the whole table one colour and then
    individually coloured the other cells the various colours that I
    wanted, but that just made the borders/outlines of the cells that
    same colour as the main background colour of the table.
    I am sure it is something simple, so please help me out
    here.

    > The 'margin' bit means there are no gaps between the
    cells.
    That's incorrect. The margin in your rule would refer to the
    margin of the
    TABLE, not the cells (a cell cannot have a margin). In fact,
    CSS has no
    analogous style for cellspacing. It does have
    "border-spacing" which would
    do the same thing sorta, but it's not widely enough supported
    (as far as I
    know) to be safe as a reliable style.

  • Typical Production cycle in Manufacturing / production industry

    Hello All,
    i want to know about ,
    Typical Production cycle in Manufacturing / production industry...
    help me....

    Hi,
    The question is very wide. Different companies operate in different ways. Also a single Manufacturing Plant can have various cycles and processes. But if I generalize it then the typical production cycle consists of the following steps:
    1. The requirements for the finished goods are calculated based on the forecasts, sales targets etc.
    2. Then the detailed production plan is drwan as how to meet these requirements.
    3. The production orders are created as per the production plan and released to the shop floor to carry out the production activities.
    4. As per the Production Order the required components are withdrawn from the stores.
    5. The production is carried out (and confirmed).
    6. Then the Finished goods so produced are delivered to the stores.
    This is the overall structure of process. There can be as many numbers of methods to do this.
    For further clarifications, please revert.
    Hope that helps.
    Regards,
    Rohit.

  • Nokia 9300 Screen colours

    I have bought a second hand 9300. The colours in the Colour/Symbol marking for the calendar are very 'pastel'. The entries copied from my 9210 have very bright, strong colour so I know the phone is capable of displaying brighter colours but any new ones I make come out dull. Also the colours of the phone interface are likewise lacking in strength. I have tried various colour schemes and altering the contrast but nothing seems to strengthen the colours up to 'normal' (what my 9210 was capable of). Is there some way of setting the colour 'strength'? Has some application installed by the previous owner modified the colours and how do I get them back?
    Ideas anyone?

    I'm afraid the phone operates as designed in this respect; different display, different colour schemes.

  • Switch off printer colour management

    Hello,
    I am on a Mac Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and using IDCS5 to print to a Canon Pro 9500 printer.
    When I get to the print dialog, I can only select colour handling by indesign. There is no option for colour managed by printer which is fine because I would prefer to have indesign manage the colours.
    However when I go to printer settings dialog I cannot turn off the printer colour management. There are two radio buttons only in the colour matching section. One is canon colour matching and the other is Coloursync from which I can select from various colour profiles.
    I can't figure out how to disable colour mangement from the printer driver.
    Can someone help me with this please?
    Jach

    I can see what you are saying about objects with different profiles in one indesign document. But the output has to be just one profile - in my case my custom built profile for the type of paper and my inkjet printer.
    So if my understanding is right - Indesign takes the number colours from the various objects in the document and convert them to numbers that my printer will use for a particular type of paper. To do this conversion indesign needs a recipe, and that recipe is in the form of my custum built profile.
    However, what is happening so far, is that indesign is converting the colours using my profile but then the printer driver is also doing some form of conversion which is messing up the colours.
    What I did try is select the right profile in the indesign print dialogue and then went to printer settings and chose colour sync and the same profile from the drop down list. I was hoping that selecting the same profile in both indesign and printer driver would result in preventing double profiling. However the results were bad.
    I am not sure how choosing DocumentRGB is going to help. Because my colour setting across the adobe suite is ProPhoto RGB for the RGB settings.
    If I go to the drop down menu for printer profile, one of the options I get is "DocumentRGB - ProPhotoRGB". Wouldn't this be wrong if some of the images in my document are sRGB or some other colour space?

  • Colour change following Export from LR

    Hi. I am adjusting my raw images in LR and exporting in jpeg for use on Epson P2000 viewer. However, the images exported and viewed in PS2000 are bland and not reflecting the original LR developed images. I have tried exporting using the various colour spaces but do not see any difference between these. When the original camera raw images are loaded and viewed on the P2000 (jpeg attached file), the colours are OK. What is the likely cause and solution, please?

    Thanks, Pierre, and Boyd, for your responses.
    I originally noted the difference between the LR on screen image and that of the image exported to the desk top, particularly with red appearing orange.
    Having noted Pierre's remark about monitor calibration, and not understanding why I should be presented with two different colour images on the same monitor I decided to try re-calibrating the monitor (not done since a complete new PC set up a few months ago, although the same monitor is in use).
    I noticed images were now more closely matched (LR on screen image, with desk top image) so then exported direct to the PS2000 using the same image with each one of the different colour spaces for comparison. I found ProPhoto RGB drab (orange), Adobe RGB(1998) a little brighter, with sRGB providing the best and nearest rendition to the LR developed image. Also, when comparing colours in the original raw with the LR exported sRGB image there was a much closer match.
    It would appear that calibration (and profile) is the key (and presumably how each piece of equipment interprets the colours (working colour space?).
    I am new to this aspect of colour rendition so possibly not yet fully understanding it but hopefully I am now moving in the reight direction.
    As an added point, I have to say that LR is an excellent piece of software and one that has won me over in more ways than one. Thank you Adobe.
    I hope my experience and comment are of assistance in some way to Boyd and others. A useful site I found was http://epaperpress.com/monitorcal/

  • Display no longer functions correctly after update

    After updating this morning (the only package updated being wayland), the display on my main computer (laptop still works fine) no longer works properly. It is a bit difficult to describe the problem: there is a constantly changing display of symbols in various colours, "behind" which the usual terminal messages are still legible, though a bit garbled. This began right after re-boot following the update. Because the problem is apparent immediately when the display starts with the manufacturer's logo, I thought at first my monitor had given up. But the same problem occurs on a replacement monitor, which leads me to think it is a software problem. Any hints -- or even better -- a solution? X won't start, making it pretty useless. I can still ssh into it from my laptop, but a real solution is required. My graphics card is NVidia, if that matters (Intel on my laptop).
    Many thanks!
    Thea
    PS I should add, I have read other posts from today regarding similar display issues, and this one appears to be different, although perhaps related. I retrograded the wayland package, but the problem remains. Wayland was the only package I updated-- that is, the only difference between pre-update (no problems) and post-update (dispaly does not work properly).
    PPS further details:
    1. The problem is already apparent at start-up (push the ON button): the computer (not the monitor) manufacturer name appears, but the display is in dashed lines.
    2. After Arch Linux boot and login, there are 5 vertical bands each about 4cm (1.5 ") wide of "shimmering" pixel colour squares spaced evenly across the screen, the intervening spaces are "normal" -- that is, display correctly and without problem. So to some extent, still workable. X will not start, giving me an error message:(/var/log/Xorg.0.log)
    NVIDIA: Failed to initialize the NVIDIA kernel module
    with the advice to consult kernel.log. However, this log (and all other kernel logs) is empty.
    3. When the monitor goes into standby mode, the "shimmering" bands are still visible.
    Update 1:
    After mesa update this afternoon (21 Feb.) video display returned to normal (ok, mesa depends on wayland) until trying unsuccessfully to start X. Since then (and also after a couple of reboots) the problem is the same. Am hoping the silence on this issue indicates that work is in progress in fixing it.
    Update 2:
    After a night in a cold office (I live in southern Ontario) and a literally cold boot (but no updates), everything appears to be back to normal.
    Still, it would be nice to know what the problem was.
    Update 3:
    So much for magic. This morning (23 Feb.) after normal system update (no obvious problematic packages relating to graphics) the display oroblem returned, as before. Fresh boot made no difference. What's going on??
    Am re-posting this as a new message. Monday, start of the week, who knows, maybe someone can help.

    You are probably better discussing web design elsewhere such as on http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=25
    There have been changes in Firefox as documented for example
    * https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Firefox_15_for_developers
    * https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Firefox_16_for_developers
    Is the website/application a publicly available one if so are you able to provide a link. Otherwise maybe post an example of code that is affected.
    You may also wish to check the code for validity with for instance http://validator.w3.org/

  • Scheduling of jobs

    Hi Gurus,
    I have an issue regarding scheduling of jobs:
    How can we schedule the jobs based upon the colour and raw material structure.
    The scenario is , today I have to produce a red colour film (which is a sub assembly for a Parent item) and i have another order for a different Parent item which requires this red colour film , for this the system has suggested a different date. Make a note that this red colour film has different item code for different Parent item .So we have to produce this red film in continuation and also to minimize the losses. How can we achieve this with the help of application .
    We don't have the scenario of Make to Stock , every product is customized and Order to Make scenario is applicable here.
    Please provide your suggestion . Is build sequence is applicable here , if yes then how?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Yes I am using Manufacturing Scheduling.
    The business scenario is:
    We are into flexible packaging industry. Here we produce films : coloured and transparent. The coloured film are of various colours and grade.
    So our aim is to club the jobs of same colour and grade in order to minimize the setup losses .
    The issue is :system is scheduling the job based on the Delivery dates.
    How can we achieve this optimization of losses as the sale orders will be having different delivery dates and schedule.
    SInce ATO is not applicable in this industry and it goes on the lines of Make to Order.
    We dont have the concept of Forecast here .
    I hope i have made myself clear . Please revert if you want to have more information.
    Regards
    S
