Mapping in FDMEE
When Creating a Import Format in FDMEE, how does the Data Load Mapping work...it's confusing.
I am using EBS,
There's 5 segments and it will not allow me to map Segment 1 to the Accounts Dimension, it forces me to select a Segment 2, Segment 3....Segment 5
On row 2 it's the same thing, I can't just map segment 2 to the "Company" dimension. I am forced to select a Segment from all 5 Drop Downs...and map to the Dimension listed on the same row.

This might be some source system setting issue. In ideal case you will get all the segments in EBS in your import format and you can map it to any target hyperion dimension.

Period Source Mapping in FDMEE
Hello,
I am using a custom SQL DB as a source for myFDMEE and stuck in few query , wondering if anyone can suggest ?
1- for period Mapping, do i need to have a calender (Period) pre-defined in SQL ? if yes then how can i do that ?
2-I have data columns (Jan-De) In source Table, so in the BefImport Script how should i insert values (Jan-Dec) into AIF Amount Columns ? i can insert Jan column value into AMOUNT column of AIF open Interface Table when selecting "Period Mapping Type" as None .
Please suggest if anyone have any idea . Much Appreciated !

open interface adapter table does not have multiple columns for periods so data is stored in a similar way than FDMEE.
there are two approaches:
1) you only keep current period data in open interface table.
2) you keep all data for all periods in the open interface table
For 1)
you can make your befimport script to import data from your custom sql table only for the POV period.
you can get the period from fdmContext and use it as a filter in your SQL query to get the data
with this option you can use None in period mapping type as you don't need to use source period mappings: you have current POV period data in your open interface table
For 2)
this is typically used when the open interface table is populated from an external source where they load data for all periods into the table. THen you need to extract only your current pov period data.
For that you can use Source Period Mappings.
With this option you don't need any befimport script as the interface table is populated already.
If you want to insert data for all periods into the open interface table, you need to PIVOT the table so:
Acc1;1;2;3;4;5;6;7;8;9;10;11;12 where you have 12 values (example 1 to 12) is converted into:
Acc1;Jan;1
Acc1;Feb:2
Acc1;Mar;3....
then you can use source period mappings to make the open interface adapter import only the data for the periods you set in the data load rule execution (either the pov period or a range of periods)

How to update calander in FDMEE source period mapping
Hi,
We are trying to find to update the calender in FDMEE source period mapping.
i have attached the screenshot. Once i selected the calendar MD(jan - Dec),the GL year details upto 2014 is coimg up where as 2015 is still missing.
We would like to know how to add 2015 year details....where this calendar is being maintained.
Our source is Peoplesoft General Ledger and target is "ARM".
Please advise.

I need to load a data from Flat file to hyperion planning applcation using FDMEE having one to many mapping
For e.g Data file has 2 records
Acc Actual Version1 Scene1 1000
Acc Actual Version1 Scene2 2000
now target application has 5 dimension and data need to be load as
acc Actual Version1 entity1 Prod2 1000
Acc Actual Version1 Entity2 Prod2 2000

AnubhavFrom your exmple I don't see the one too many mapping requirement. You have one source data line that maps to a single target intersection. Where is the one to many mapping requirement in your example?

FDMEE/LCM : LCM is merging target server maps with source server maps
Hi,
We would like to copy thanks to LCM our FDMEE application from production to developpement server.
We have done several tests on developpement that we would like to remove.
We need to have production/development environnement AS-IS.
The problem is that LCM is merging taret server location / data load rule / import format / maps with the source one.
We have opened an SR on this subject.
Meanwhile we would like to create a SQL request to clean import format / data load rule / location / maps table within target server before the LCM import.
Is that ok if we delete all records on these following table or could we have an impact ?
- AIF_BALANCE_RULES (Data load rule table)
- TDATAMAP / TDATAMAP_STG /TDATAMAPSEG (maps tables)
- TPOVPARTITION (location table)
- TBHVIMPGROUP; TBHVIMPITEMFILE (import format table)

FDMEE BefImport script for SQL source
Hi Experts ,
I am new to FDMEE and trying to implment it for our process which should pull the data from one of the SQL view and load into Essbase. I am trying to use the Open Interface table and hence trying to builde BefImport event script with help of admin guide exmple. FDM & ERPI to FDMEE - Upgrade approach/challenges ?
Hello,
We are in FDM/ERPI 11.1.2.2.300 (used for loading data from EBS and file systems into HFM 11.1.2.2.300) and planning to upgrade (within the existing environment [in-place upgrade]) to 11.1.2.3. As we see that FDM/ERPI are integrated together as FDMEE in 11.1.2.3, we had big grey area on how FDMEE would function in contrast to disparate FDM/ERPI.
We needed inputs from veterans or anyone who had experienced the upgrade to answer the follwing queries.
Queries:
[1] We have come to know that FDM and ERPI are integrated together as FDMEE in 11.1.2.3.
[a] Since we have FDM and ERPI as separate components in 11.1.2.2.300, how should FDM and ERPI components be upgraded to FDMEE ? Any specific steps / approach that need to be followed ?
[b] Are there any known issues / challenges involved in upgrading from disparate FDM & ERPI to FDMEE ?
[c] How would ERPI artifacts (of 11.1.2.2.300) function in FDMEE - Are there any specific migration or any manual set-up required post-upgrade (to 11.1.2.3) to have ERPI artifacts (like source system, period mapping, location, import formats, data load mapping etc) functioning in FDMEE ?
[d] Similarly how would FDM artifacts (from 11.1.2.2.300) function in FDMEE ? Are there any specific migration or manual set-up required post-upgrade (to 11.1.2.3) to have FDM artifacts (like mapping, validation rules etc) functioning in FDMEE ?
[2] Since only ODI 11.1.1.7 is compatible with 11.1.2.3 (from Compatability matrix), how do we upgrade ODI from 11.1.1.6 to 11.1.1.7 ? Are there any patch available to upgrade or should we uninstall ODI 11.1.1.6 and install ODI 11.1.1.7 ?
Any insightful response will be helpful for us as it would help us to gain clarity/confidence and comfort in upgrading to 11.1.2.3.

As you are upgrading from 11.1.2.2.300 to EPM 11.1.2.3 (within the existing environment [in-place upgrade]) , it's called Applying maintenance release EPM 11.1.2.3 on EPM 11.1.2.2
[a] when you apply maintenance release , FDM 11.1.2.2 gets upgraded to FDM 11.1.2.3 ,
and ERPi gets upgraded to FDMEE 11.1.2.3
[b] i have not faced any issue while upgrading FDM
[c] please check epm_install.pdf for EPM 11.1.2.3 for upgradation task for FDM and FDMEE (see page 257 / 258)

Define Import format for location which is connected to database in FDMEE
Hi,
I have created new location in FDMEE and created BefImport script to load data from orcle to Open Interface table.
Now, I need to import data from open interface table to FDMEE. Can any one let me know what would be the source system for it as it cannot be file and how to define mappings for the same (Are we going to define mappings the same way as we do for delimited file).
Quick suggestions on this are highly appreciated...

FDMEE - Write back - No Data and No Errors
I am trying to Write Back from Planning 11.1.2.3.500 to EBS R12 using FDMEE 11.1.2.3.530. There is data in Planning, and when I execute an Import it processes successfully, but the Transform Data Process step has a warning symbol and there is no data in the grid in the Write Back Workbnch.

I execute Import from Source, and it process for several minutes, and then nothing is in the Workbench.
There is data in Planning as far as I can see, and with no errors I am at a loss on what to investigate.
Can anyone assist?

FDMEE - unable to load an erronous file
Hello,
I created an HFM and FDMEE application.
I was able to load a flat file, whose dimensions' values were identical to the metadata.
I tried loading a file with values that are not in metadata, to see a validation report, but I keep getting this:

The flat file I load contained 2 rows (it was a test load).
The correct file, that I was able to import, validate and export to HFM included these 2 rows:
L0108140140,11101000,[ICP None],[None],[None],[None],Base,2000000
L0108140140,42001101,[ICP None],[None],[None],[None],Base,-2000000
The erroneous file that I wasn't even able to import included these 2 rows:
L0108140140,11101000,[ICP None],[None],[None],[None],Base,2000000
L0108140140,42001101,[ICP None],[None],lil,[None],Base,-2000000
The only difference is in one of the dimensions lil instead of [None].
I wanted the system to show me that the value wasn't mapped so it cannot proceed in the export to HFM.
Any ideas?

Issue with Loading COMMENTS in HFM ICT Module from FDMEE
Hi,
We have a requirement wherein we can load all the HFM ICT Transactions from a Flat File using FDMEE. We are facing 2 issues:
a. Firstly FDMEE Target application allows us to map only COMMENT1 as a dimension for FDMEE. There is no Dimension/Place holder for COMMENT2. So how do we do this?
b. Secondly, COMMENT1 is by default mapped to ATTR11 of the Target Application in FDMEE. Now, ATTR3 is only VARCHR2(20) whereas the actual Comment Size supported by HFM ICT Module is 256 charachters. So how to we ensure that we can load a larger comment from FDMEE?
Thanks!FDM does not perform the consolidation function in HFM. It will caculate a Base Entity if you Enable Consolidation, Force Calculate, and Force Translate in the Integration Settings.

How can I fix an unmapped account in FDMEE
Hello,
I'm trying to understand where I can fix unmapped accounts (or any other dimension) in FDMEE.
In FDQM there was a FIX button, where you could fix it on the spot, or export to excel all the unmapped members, fix and reload.

LilachFDMEE 11.1.2.3 doesn't have the Fix Maps button functionality so you will have to navigate to the relevant mapping screen, locate the invalid mapping and change there or enter mapping if it is missing completely.

The API functions available in FDMEE seems to be a subset of what was available in FDM. For instance, to import mappings we used to have API.IntBlockMgr.InterfaceMgr.fImpTRx in FDM. This is not working in FDMEE (Even after initializing FDMEE API). Could you please let me know the equivalent of this fn call in FDMEE or a way to automate the mapping import from flat files/custom tables. The admin guide has a very limited set of function calls in FDMEE. Any help is appreciated.

I guess tat function has not been implemented yet in the new API and not 100% sure it will.
But you can create a function in vb/jython to import maps into table TDATAMAP.
Take a look to the table to see which columns you need to import.

In FDM Classic I could use the fValueGet function to retrieve data from HFM. Is there a similar API existing in FDMEE if I want to create a mapping based on a pre-load data value in my HFM target application?

once the adapter is initialized maybe you are able to use:
fValueGet(strEntity, strParent, strAccount, strICP, strC1, strC2, vaCustoms, strValue, strScenario, strYear, strPeriod, strView)
Note, that using this method is not supported.
